‘Cruel behavior’: Northwestern U. LGBT community triggered by obscure flag painted on rock

A red cross and a reference to a 15th century French duke has caused an uproar at Northwestern University as LGBT students and professors fear for their safety.

Around Jan. 6, someone painted a “Cross of Burgundy” and wrote “CHARLES THE BOLD DUKE OF BURGUNDY 10 NOV 1433 — 5 JAN 1477” over a “trans flag” on campus. Students regularly paint over “The Rock” with various messages.

Even though the first person to report the cross did not know what it meant,  she felt unsafe for her life.

“Something felt really off, and that visual cue, especially on a memorial for a trans student, just felt like something was wrong up there,” Smith Yarberry told The Daily Northwestern. Yarberry is gender-confused, sometimes just goes by “S.” and uses “they” pronouns. Her real name is “Sofia.”

The flag caused an immediate reaction as Yarberry, a “sixth-year English Ph.D. candidate” who writes “erotic” poetry,” and other LGBT individuals and allies jumped into action.

“Concerned students and faculty worked together over email chains in the following days to research the markings and allusion to the duke of Burgundy,” the student newspaper reported. “Others reached out to Student Affairs separately to notify the University about the symbol.”

The “chevroned X,” “was adopted by a Spanish pro-fascist group in the 20th century,” the team of researchers concluded.

“It’s one thing to go repaint the entire rock white with a red (symbol) and take away the trans memorial,” Yarberry (pictured) told the student newspaper. “But to use the trans memorial as the backdrop for a symbol associated with Nazism and fascist ideologies, that is a very political statement.”

While Yarberry and others were painting over the X, “a student approached them and took responsibility for painting the cross.”

“[T]he student mostly defended the decision as solely expressing interest in the duke of Burgundy. The person did not identify themself,” the newspaper reported.

That was not enough for the aggrieved LGBT members and allies, some of whom connected it to their broader problems with Northwestern.

ACTIVIST JUDGE STRIKES AGAIN: Clinton-Appointed Judge Who Claimed Trump “Likely Committed Crimes” in Challenging 2020 Elections Now Blocks DOJ’s Voter Data Request — Calls It “Unprecedented and Illegal”

Another day, another radical ruling from the federal bench.

Federal District Judge David O. Carter, the same Clinton-appointed judge who previously made headlines by claiming President Trump “likely committed crimes” during the 2020 election challenges, has now moved to block the Department of Justice from securing election integrity in California.

On Thursday, Judge Carter issued a scathing order dismissing the DOJ’s lawsuit against California Secretary of State Shirley Weber and the State of California, effectively shielding the state’s voter rolls from federal scrutiny.

Judge Carter granted all of their motions to dismiss, ruling that the DOJ’s request violated the Civil Rights Act of 1960, the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), and the Help America Vote Act (HAVA). He went so far as to accuse the Executive Branch of trying to “usurp the authority over elections.”

The DOJ had sued the Golden State to obtain unredacted voting records to ensure compliance with federal election laws, but Carter has slammed the door shut, calling the government’s request “unprecedented and illegal.”

The 14 states that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has sued for refusing to provide their full, statewide voter registration files are:

  • California
  • Delaware
  • Maine
  • Maryland
  • Michigan
  • Minnesota
  • New Hampshire
  • New Mexico
  • New York
  • Oregon
  • Pennsylvania
  • Rhode Island
  • Vermont
  • Washington

The Department of Justice, under Trump administration, launched this legal battle to enforce “voter roll maintenance enforcement and compliance”.

The goal was clear: to investigate potential non-citizen voting and ensure that California’s voter lists are accurate and up to date. The DOJ requested standard data found in voter files, including names, voting history, and Social Security information, to verify eligibility.

“Emergency Intervention”: Trump To Cap Residential Electric Bills By Forcing Tech Giants To Pay For Soaring Power Costs

Back in August, when the American population was just waking up to the dire consequences the exponentially growing army of data centers spawned across the country was having on residential electricity bills, we said that the chart of US CPI would soon become the most popular (not in a good way) chart in the financial realm.

One month later we added that it was only a matter of time before Trump, realizing that soaring electricity costs would almost certainly cost Republicans the midterms, would enforce price caps.

Turns out we were right.

And while Trump obviously can not pull a communist rabbit out of his hat, and centrally plan the entire US power grid, what he can do is precisely what he is about to announce.

According to Bloomberg, Trump and the governors of several US Northeastern states agreed to push for an emergency wholesale electricity auction that would compel technology companies to effectively fund new power plants, effectively putting a cap for residential power prices at the expense of hyperscalers and data centers. Which, come to think of it, we also proposed back in October.

Anti-Defamation League CEO reveals he is working with Ted Cruz to ‘take down’ Tucker Carlson

Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt has revealed he is working behind the scenes with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tx) and others to take down “revolting lunatics” like Tucker Carlson and Nick Fuentes.

“I think the only way we are going to defeat the rise in antisemitism on the right is from the right,” Greenblatt said during a panel interview at a Los Angeles synagogue on Wednesday.

“Nick Fuentes is disgusting, Tucker Carlson is disgusting, Candace Owens is disgusting, and so on, but there have been good people like Ted Cruz and Ben Shapiro and Mark Levin [and] Speaker [Mike] Johnson pushing back on these revolting lunatics.”

Greenblatt went on to say he was helping the lawmakers and conservative personalities “behind the scenes” in a bid to get social media platforms to crack down on antisemitism and hate-filled speech.

“We definitely are working a lot to try to get the platforms to kind of enforce their own terms of service so that we can pull down the most offensive hate speech or get them to do it,” he said.

“What I try to do at ADL, what we try to do is provide data, is to provide tools, is to step up often quietly behind the scenes.”

Last month, Carlson was named “Antisemite of the Year” by StopAntisemitism, a prominent Jewish civil rights group, for offering platforms to Jew-haters and -bashers on his show.

Carlson has come under fire for interviewing Palestinian pastor Munther Isaac, who refers to Israel as a “terrorist entity,” and Holocaust revisionist Darryl Cooper, who claimed the Nazis didn’t intend to kill Jews.

The political commentator praised Cooper as “the best and most honest popular historian in the United States,” the group said.

The biggest backlash Carlson has faced was hosting Fuentes, with the white nationalist telling the host he was a “fan” of Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin, who promoted policies that discriminated against Jews.

Carlson himself also slammed “Christian Zionists” for supporting Israel, saying they had been “seized by this brain virus” during the chat — singling out former President George W. Bush, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee and Sen. Cruz.

‘She/They’ Research Scientist at the University of Washington Wishes Conservatives Dead for Daring to Ask Questions: “May There Be Tyler Robinsons for You All”

A research scientist, whose role at the University of Washington is ostensibly one that is grounded in scientific understanding, lashed out at a conservative for using a scientific argument against biological men in women’s sports, wishing “Tyler Robinsons” for all conservatives.

Tyler Robinson is the 22-year-old man from Utah accused of assassinating conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025, during an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

School choice advocate Corey DeAngelis shared a video on Facebook of an exchange with Brandi Kruse, an independent journalist, pressing Washington State Senate Majority Leader Jamie Pedersen about allowing biological men in women’s sports.

Kruse asked: “Can you acknowledge that there are biological differences between men and women that would give boys physical advantages over girls in athletics?”

Pedersen responded: “No, I don’t think I could say that definitively. I don’t have the scientific expertise to weigh in on that.”

Mara Maughan, a research scientist at the University of Washington who uses “she/they” pronouns, responded to DeAngelis’ post by wishing death on those who dare to question trans doctrine.  Maughan allegedly commented, “May there be Tyler Robinsons for you all.”

Sovereignty or Terrorism? Why Doesn’t Mexico Legally Treat Drug Cartels as Terrorist Organizations, Unlike the United States?

The debate over whether Mexican cartels “fit” the classic definition of terrorism risks becoming a legal alibi for inaction.

Although these organizations do not pursue a political utopia or a revolutionary ideology, they produce effects identical to—and in many cases greater than—those of traditional terrorism: territorial control, mass intimidation of civilians, institutional collapse, and systematic violence against the state.

Insisting that ideological motivation alone defines terrorism is a formalistic and outdated reading when confronted with non-state armed actors capable of paralyzing entire regions, capturing institutions, and openly challenging national governments. The problem is no longer merely semantic, but structural.

Mexico claims to be defending its sovereignty, but sovereignty cannot become a shield to preserve legal frameworks that no longer reflect reality—much less a pretext for failing to confront criminal organizations responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people, inside and outside its territory, every year.

Leftist Mayor of Small Missouri Town Busted on NINE Child Porn and Sex Crimes After Inventing a Vile Race Hoax

A far-left, race-baiting mayor of a small Missouri town of less than 2,400 people has been busted on nine incredibly heinous crimes after perpetrating a disgusting race hoax.

As First Alert 4 news reported, Riverview mayor Mike Cornell Jr. has been charged with four counts of second-degree statutory sodomy, three counts of first-degree sodomy or attempted sodomy, one count of first-degree harassment, and one count of possession of child pornography.

There were four victims involved in these incidents, including two minors under the age of 17. The alleged crimes occurred between December 2016 and 2026.

Here are more details from First Alert 4:

According to the St. Louis County Police’s probable cause statement, Cornell committed forcible sex acts on at least three victims, including a minor. They say he made sexual advances against a fourth victim. Police say they found child sexual abuse material on Cornell’s phone.

The department said it was made aware of the allegations against Cornell and potential crimes from another local agency, but would not say who.

The charges follow the authorities’ search of the mayor’s home earlier this month. Police were accompanied by a K9 unit as they searched the residence, which is less than a half-mile from Riverview City Hall.

Riverview’s Acting Police Chief, Toreyon Times, called the charges against Cornell, Jr. “deeply disturbing” in a statement to First Alert 4.

St Louis Police believe there may be even more victims of Cornell, Jr., and are encouraging them to come forward.

Just last month, Cornell Jr. whipped out the race card and alleged without evidence that pro-KKK and anti-Semitic graffiti had been appearing throughout Riverview.

First Alert 4 investigated the mayor’s claims and found inconsistencies across the versions of the stories he told.

For example, the outlet did not find evidence of Cornell’s claims of the KKK or other organized hate groups drawing graffiti in Riverview.

Current and former residents also said there was no history of the KKK in the community.

Too On Brand: School Purges 1984, Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies, and Others to Promote ‘Diversity’

You really can’t make things like this up.

Seriously. Liberals may want to purge libraries of “wrongthink,” but you would expect that anybody with an IQ above room temperature could have figured out that tossing out more than half your books in a school library, including 1984 and Animal Farm, would be a bad look.

But no. Not in Canada, apparently. And certainly not at the Thames Valley School District in London, Ontario. Out of a High School library of 18,000 books, 10,000 were “deselected” and tossed into the trash because they didn’t fit the vision of having an “inclusive” library. Presumably, that explains why they tossed out books by J.K. Rowling, which I assume were quite popular with the kids; she engages in wrongthink about gender, and needs to be purged.

A London, Ontario, secondary school binned more than 10,000 library books between January and March this year under the Thames Valley District School Board’s “inclusive libraries revitalization project,” eliminating more than half of the school’s 18,000-book collection.

H.B. Beal’s library once held one of the largest collections in the board. Today, fewer than 8,300 books remain. The estimated value of the discarded materials exceeds $180,000.

Education Minister Paul Calandra moved quickly to halt further library culls while the ministry investigates the Beal revitalization project. A spokesperson for the ministry confirmed last week that “the minister has directed that all current and future library collection reviews be paused, pending further evaluation.”

According to board documentation, the project aims “to revitalize the collections of Thames Valley schools to ensure they are culturally responsive, reflect our diverse student population, and contain accurate and up-to-date information.” The project adds that it will focus on “deselecting texts with harmful images, messaging, slurs, and racial epithets to facilitate the safety and well-being of all students.”

Some of the books “deselected” blow your mind, not because it would surprise you that radical leftists would want to hide them, but because it makes their goals of purging the library of any ideological diversity so blatant. They literally purged books about…book banning.

DHS Says ICE Officers Have “Federal Immunity.” The Law Is More Complicated.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), long seen as emblematic of dangerously expanding federal power, circulated a video clip asserting that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers enjoy “federal immunity” when performing their duties. Posted on Tuesday, the release comes amid widespread national attention and protests sparked by the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good by ICE agent Jonathan Ross during an enforcement operation in Minneapolis on January 7. Good’s death has become a flashpoint in ongoing debates over immigration enforcement, federal use of force, and civil rights, with tens of thousands gathering in Minneapolis and rallies under the banner “ICE Out For Good” held in cities across the country in recent days.

The DHS reposted a clip of Stephen Miller, the White House chief of staff, delivering a message to ICE officers. Miller’s remarks carried a clear implication: Federal officers, he suggested, operate beyond the reach of state and local authority, and anyone who interferes commits a felony. That framing sits uneasily with constitutional text, legal precedent, and long-standing limits on federal power. While immigration enforcement is undeniably a federal responsibility, the Constitution does not grant federal officers blanket immunity from the law, nor does it erase the authority of state and local law enforcement, particularly that of elected sheriffs.

“Reminder”

In the clip, Miller delivered a blunt message to ICE officers. He framed it as both reassurance and warning at once. The language left little room for qualification:

To all ICE officers: You have federal immunity in the conduct of your duties. Anybody who lays a hand on you or tries to stop you or tries to obstruct you is committing a felony. You have immunity to perform your duties, and no one — no city official, no state official, no illegal alien, no leftist agitator or domestic insurrectionist — can prevent you from fulfilling your legal obligations and duties. The Department of Justice has made clear that if officials cross that line into obstruction, into criminal conspiracy against the United States or against ICE officers, then they will face justice.

Miller made the remarks during a period of intense tensions between federal immigration authorities and state and local officials in Illinois. At the time, DHS had launched Operation Midway Blitz, a large-scale enforcement campaign across the Chicago area beginning in early September 2025. The operation immediately triggered legal and political backlash.

That context matters, since the DHS’s “reminder” of the “federal immunity” coincided with active litigation challenging the legality of ICE’s conduct on the ground.

The Illinois Context

This Monday, the state of Illinois and the city of Chicago consolidated those disputes into a sweeping federal lawsuit against the DHS and senior ICE officials. The complaint spans 103 pages and accuses the administration of deploying what plaintiffs describe as unlawful and dangerous immigration enforcement tactics.

According to the filing, ICE agents conducted arrests without valid judicial warrants, detained individuals without probable cause, and carried out enforcement actions that violated both constitutional protections and long-standing federal court orders governing immigration arrests in the region. State and city officials characterized the federal presence as “coercive” and destabilizing. They argued that it bypassed established legal limits on federal law enforcement authority and violated the Tenth Amendment’s reservation of powers to the states.

DHS dismissed the lawsuit as “baseless.” Spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said the department was looking “forward to proving that in court.”

The Illinois complaint echoed earlier claims raised by civil-rights attorneys representing detainees. In separate federal filings, those attorneys alleged that ICE violated a binding consent decree that restricts when agents may conduct warrantless civil arrests. Those filings documented cases in which U.S. citizens and lawful residents were mistakenly detained, raising serious due-process concerns.

Suing separately is a group of journalists, news organizations, unions and protesters. They accused the federal government of violating the First Amendment, the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, and the Fourth Amendment’s ban on excessive force and unreasonable seizures, among other charges.

A judge in Chicago ruled that some of the arrests challenged in court were unlawful, finding that ICE failed to satisfy constitutional and procedural requirements. The court ordered detainees released and warned that continued violations could trigger further judicial oversight.

The Illinois litigation underscores the tension at the heart of DHS’s decision to resurface Miller’s remarks.

DID WE LEARN NOTHING? NIH Funds Wuhan-Style Bat Lab at Colorado State University

It has been four years since the world was brought to its knees by a virus that many evidence-based reports now indicate leaked from a laboratory in Wuhan, China. You would think the federal government and the “experts” in the public health establishment would have learned their lesson.

You would be wrong.

Colorado State University (CSU) is moving full steam ahead with a massive, taxpayer-funded “Bat Resource Center.”

This new facility, which is bankrolled by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the very same agency that funded dangerous research in Wuhan, will import and breed exotic bats to experiment on them with deadly pathogens.

The facility is being touted by the university as a “critical resource” to study how bats carry viruses like Ebola, Nipah, and SARS-CoV-2 without getting sick.

According to documents uncovered by the watchdog group White Coat Waste Project, this isn’t just a simple animal shelter. It is a vivarium designed to house huge colonies of bats, the very same animals identified as the reservoir for the COVID-19 virus.

White Coat Project wrote on its website:

We’ve now revealed that the NIH is still eager to move forward with the project minus EHA; and gave CSU an additional $2.3 million to do so just two months ago.
