Flip-Flop: Longtime Free Trade Opponent Bernie Sanders Now Calls Trump’s Tariffs ‘Unacceptable’

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is opposing President Donald Trump’s reciprocal tariffs after spending his career in Washington, DC, trashing the nation’s decades-long free trade policy for allowing multinational corporations to easily outsource American jobs to low-wage countries like China and Vietnam.

“As someone who helped lead the effort against disastrous unfettered free trade deals with China, Mexico, and other low-wage countries, I understand that we need trade policies that benefit American workers, not just the CEOs of large corporations,” Sanders said in a statement before using economic libertarian talking points to attack Trump’s recipricol tariffs:

And that includes targeted tariffs which can be a powerful tool in stopping corporations from outsourcing American jobs and factories abroad. Bottom line: We need a rational, well-thought-out and fair trade policy. Trump’s across-the-board tariffs are not the way to do it. We do not need a blanket and arbitrary sales tax on imported goods which will raise prices on products that the American people desperately need. We should be doing everything we can to lower prices, not make them incredibly higher. [Emphasis added]

Further, and most importantly, what Trump is doing is illegal and another step toward authoritarianism. In pushing his tariffs he is usurping the power of Congress and abrogating existing agreements under “emergency” provisions – when there are no real emergencies. In other words, he is incorporating more and more power into his own hands. That is unacceptable. [Emphasis added]

The statement is unusual for Sanders, as he has spent most of political career in Washington, DC, warning against the devastating impact that free trade has had on America’s working and middle class communities.

In 1993, then-Rep. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) railed against the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) as nothing more than a massive outsourcing giveaway to multinational corporations looking to cut labor costs by sending American jobs to the lowest-wage countries.

“The NAFTA treaty is being supported by almost every multinational corporation in America, and these corporations are spending tens and tens of billions of dollars trying to influence the members of this body to vote for it,” Sanders said at the time.

Dallas Rabbi Who Spread False Hamas Rape Claims Arrested for Child Molestation

A Dallas zionist rabbi who publicly spread false claims about Hamas raping Israeli women on October 7 has been arrested for sexually abusing a teenage boy.

Rabbi Yizhak Meir Sabo, 43, was charged with indecency with a child, according to Dallas County jail records. Authorities arrested him on April 1 and set his bail at $100,000. The reports surfaced on March 27, prompting the Akiba Yavneh Academy to place him on administrative leave.

According to an affidavit, Sabo repeatedly pulled down a male student’s pants and touched his genitals. The abuse allegedly occurred while the student was in grades 9-12. Sabo also watched the student shower and gave him inappropriate “massages,” the report states.

School officials called the reports “shocking and serious” and banned Sabo from campus and all school-related activities. More families have since come forward with additional concerns. However, investigators have stated that the current case does not involve younger students.

Booker Previously Labeled Filibusters An ‘Abuse Of Power’ Years Prior To Setting Senate Speech Record

Democrat New Jersey Senator Cory Booker previously labeled Senate filibusters an “abuse of power” in 2022, prior to launching yesterday’s 25-hour filibuster on Tuesday — the longest in U.S. Senate history.

A filibuster is “a loosely defined term for action designed to prolong debate and delay or prevent a vote on a bill, resolution, amendment, or other debatable question,” according to the U.S. Senate website.

Booker (D-N.J.) began his speech at 7 p.m. on Monday, going on to speak for “25 hours and 5 minutes,” highly contradicting his previous comments — when he referred to the tactic as “abuse.”

“The filibuster has been abused to stop reforms supported by the vast majority of Americans–from background checks to protecting the right to vote. We must stop this abuse of power,” Booker wrote in January 2022.

Booker’s historically lengthy speech surpassed former Senator Strom Thurmond, who previously held the record, speaking for 24 hours and 18 minutes.

The New Jersey senator accomplished the feat without “eating any food” or drinking any water for the entire duration of his speech, which helped him avoid the need to use a restroom. However, other reports have claimed that he only took a few quick sips of water throughout his speech.

“I don’t want my doctor to be mad at me, but I really spent time dehydrating myself beforehand, so I did not have to go to the bathroom,” Booker stated on Tuesday night.

“My challenge was, was that my strategy was to stop eating, I think I stopped eating on Friday, and then to stop drinking the night before I started on Monday, and that had its benefits and it had its really downsides,” he continued. “And so instead of fighting or figuring out how to go to the bathroom, I ended up, I think really, unfortunately, dehydrating myself.”

To retain the floor, Booker had to remain standing and was not able to leave his desk for the duration of his “marathon” speech.

Gabbard Calls Trump ‘President of Peace’ Despite Yemen Bombing Campaign, Support for Gaza Slaughter

On Saturday, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard called President Trump the “president of peace” despite his bombing campaign in Yemen and his support for the mass slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza.

“President Trump IS the President of Peace. He is ending bloodshed across the world and will deliver lasting peace in the Middle East,” Gabbard wrote on X. “Where Joe Biden failed, President Trump will succeed.”

Gabbard made the comments in a post sharing a quote from President Trump, who claimed his administration was “engaged in relentless diplomacy to forge a lasting peace in the Middle East, building on the historic Abraham Accords.”

Gabbard has been supportive of Trump’s daily bombing campaign in Yemen and was one of the administration officials in the leaked Signal chat that celebrated the bombing of a residential building.

As a member of Congress, Gabbard opposed the first Trump administration’s intervention in Yemen and frequently labeled the Saudi war against the Houthis that the US was supporting at the time “genocidal.”

One reason Gabbard was critical of the US’s involvement in the Saudi war in Yemen was that it was not authorized by Congress, making it illegal under the Constitution. Trump’s current bombing campaign in Yemen has also not been authorized by Congress, a fact recently pointed out by Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA).

Democrat New York State Senator Introduces Bill That Would Ban Tesla Dealerships in the State

Patricia Fahy, a Democrat state senator in New York is introducing legislation that would effectively ban Tesla dealerships in the state.

This is the same party that has tried to force Americans to buy electric cars. Now this Democrat is trying to make it impossible for people to buy one. Have all Democrats gone completely insane?

This woman is trying to use the power of the government to single out and punish an American company because she is mad at the creator of the company simply because he is working with Trump. Sounds a little fascistic, doesn’t it?

NY State Senator Patricia Fahy (D) has introduced a new bill that aims to effectively ban Tesla dealerships in the state.

“No matter what we do, we’ve got to take this from Elon Musk– He’s part of an effort to go backwards.” -Sen. Patricia Fahy

RedState reported on this:

NY Dem’s Latest Move Is a Blatant Attempt to Ruin Tesla Solely Because of Elon Musk’s Ties to Trump

New York state Sen. Patricia Fahy (D) has introduced legislation that would effectively ban Tesla’s five in-person sales locations in the Empire State.

Why? Because of Elon Musk’s association with the Trump administration.

‘No matter what we do, we’ve got to take this from Elon Musk,’ Fahy said, according to Politico. ‘He’s part of an effort to go backwards.’

Senate Bill S6894, introduced on March 26th, seeks to maintain the number of in-person sales locations at five but ‘provides that certificates issued prior to 1/1/25 shall not be eligible for renewal.’

Former Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo issued those certificates to Tesla through a brokered deal in 2014 that grandfathered them in. At the time, Cuomo hailed the agreement as a means to ensure New York ‘remains a leader in spurring innovative businesses and encouraging zero-emissions vehicle sales.’

Germany ‘forming secret alliance of nations that will turn away migrants at their borders’

Germany is secretly forming an alliance of European countries that will turn away asylum seekers at their borders, it has been reported.

Friedrich Merz, the country’s next chancellor, has begun informal talks with neighbours FrancePoland, the Czech Republic, Austria and Switzerland, according to The Telegraph.

While precise details of the plan remain unclear, Merz is under pressure to cut the number of refugee arrivals into Germany.

Concerns about immigration have been pushed to the forefront of German politics, heightened by a series of attacks carried out by Islamists and the rise of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.

The AfD polled 20.8 per cent in the February elections, making them the second largest party in German.

Ahead of the elections in February, Merz, 69, the leader of the victorious Christian Democratic Union (CDU), promised to stop all illegal migration at Germany’s land borders.

While the new policy is still being worked out, he is said to have been strongly influenced by an initiative presented by Polish prime minister Donald Tusk in January.

In a speech upon taking the reins of the EU council, Tusk called illegal immigration ‘a threat to the security and territorial integrity of the entire union’ and suggested the need to use ‘all available leverage’ to force nations external to the US to take back their citizens.

Publisher’s Firing Shows Double Standard in Israel/Palestine Cartooning

“Watch your step,” says the soldier as he and a medic lead a hostage over a mound of corpses labeled “Over 40,000 Palestinians killed…” The caption reads, “Some Israeli Hostages Are Home After Years of Merciless War.” This cartoon by Jeff Danzinger (Rutland Herald1/20/25) was selected by editorial page editor Tony Doris to run in the Palm Beach Post (1/26/25).

After the cartoon ran last month, a local Jewish activist group took offense at the perceived antisemitic nature of the anti-war cartoon. The Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County was so upset it purchased a full-page ad condemning the cartoon to run in the Sunday edition (2/9/25).

That Doris and Danzinger are both of Jewish descent did not deter the complainers. Neither did their politics. Doris (Stet News3/2/25) describes himself as pro-Israel, as well as the Post‘s “only Jewish editor.” Danzinger told comics scholar Kent Worcester (Comics Journal11/05) that he agreed “with a great many things that the Republicans have been traditionally for,” and that he voted for George H.W. Bush twice.

For his temerity to run an anti-war cartoon acknowledging the Palestinian dead, Doris was fired by Gannett, the conglomerate that owns hundreds of newspapers across the country, including the PostGannett issued a statement that the cartoon “did not meet our standards” and “would not have been published if the proper protocols were followed.” “We sincerely regret the error,” said the spokesperson for the Post, “and have taken appropriate action to prevent this from happening again.” Doris (New York Times3/2/25) remarked that Gannet executives are “afraid of their shadow.”

Predictable: The Atlantic Praised Signal App as the “Gold Standard” in 2017 and Admitted Obama, Hillary and Trump Staffers All Used It

It wasn’t that long ago that Democrats praised Signal App as the “gold standard” of encrypted messaging.

It was The Atlantic that published the report praising Signal and in the report they admit that Hillary Clinton and Obama staffers used the app.

Despite all of this, Democrats are trying desperately to make “Signalgate” a thing.

The same group that allowed 20 million unvetted illegals into the country want you to think they believe in national security.

Deranged Dem. Crockett Calls For More Violence Against Republicans

Radical leftist Democrat Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett has again called for violence against her political opponents.

Crockett gave an interview with reporters from NBC 5 Phil Prazan and the Dallas Morning News when she was asked how Democrats can fight back against Trump.

She took the question literally.

“I think that you punch; I think you okay with punching,” Crockett said.

“You know…I love Colin (Allred), and I think toward the end he started punching a little harder,” she continued.

Then came the kicker.

“But, like, it’s Ted Cruz!” she continued. “I mean, this dude needs to be knocked over the head, hard!”

“There’s no niceties with him…You go clean off of him!” Crockett further asserted.

The Tesla attacks are proof that the left is turning on itself in orgy of liberal cannibalism

Climate crusaders, those sanctimonious shepherds of the earth, are trading their pious protests for outright carnage as attacks against Tesla vehicles ripple across the country — an orgy of liberal cannibalism that’s as predictable as a vegan toting along his own tofu to a barbecue.

But setting EVs on fire isn’t the only banner of hypocrisy unfurled lately by eco-warriors — whose extremist ideologies increasingly collide with the real world to reveal their ironic outcomes.

This month, officials in the Brazilian city of Belém paved over tens of thousands of acres of protected Amazon rainforest and wetland to build a four-lane, eight-mile-long highway necessary to accommodate the roughly 50,000 climate activists who will descend on the city in November for the UN’s COP30 climate summit.

That’s not all the jet-setting eco zealots will require: The local airport is doubling its capacity, to 14 million passengers; the seaport is being redeveloped to accommodate cruise ships; a 5.3 million square foot sports and entertainment complex is under construction; and a row of hotels is going up along the new “sustainable highway,” as local authorities dub the project.

Across the world, the UK government is moving ahead on plans to bulldoze 4,000 acres of pristine countryside in Dereham and Swaffham to install a solar panel farm, one of several new solar farms under consideration in the gray, rainy little island nation.
