One American town takes war against homeschooling to enraging extremes

Homeschooling and homeschoolers have been under attack across America in a number of ways over recent years.

Despite those barrages, the industry is growing hugely.

But there have been special exams demanded, invasive interviews, physical exams, odd requirements for homeschool teachers and much more at times. In one case state officials rejected a college diploma submitted by a homeschool teacher because it was written in Latin.

Now one Maine town is going to an extreme – an attempt to bar those connected with homeschooling from serving on a local public board, the school board.

According to the Institute for Justice, “Town officials in Dexter, Maine are considering a proposal that bars homeschool co-op leaders and private-school employees from serving on the local school board.”

While supporters for the barrier claim it would prevent conflicts of interest, the IJ reported it actually is “retaliatory.”

The IJ noted that last summer, Dexter voters recalled school board member Alisha Ames, leader of the town’s only homeschool co-op, Power Source Ministries.

“The recall came after a campaign by the Facebook group ‘Stop the Power Trip,’ which accused her of putting the co-op ahead of public schools,” the IJ noted. “Even if the recall of Ames was warranted, the proposed ordinance goes much further. Instead of addressing one individual, it would bar homeschool co-op leaders and private-school employees from serving on the school board, shutting out many other residents from their right to serve their community.”

The backlash already has begun. State Rep. Heidi Sampson, of the Maine Education Initiative, warned town officials in a letter they are refusing to abide by First Amendment precedents, and that “exposes the town to significant liability.”

Scientists sound alarm on DEI’s threat to academic freedom at ‘War on Science’ event

Articles on “the importance of teaching science with a feminist framework.” Observations of whiteness in the physics classroom. A prohibition on the use of the word “intelligence” when discussing extraterrestrial intelligence at a meeting of astrobiologists.

These are just a few of the examples highlighted at an event Thursday called “The War on Science” hosted by the American Enterprise Institute and led by one of the globe’s top theoretical physicists Lawrence Krauss.

“This is going to be a long war to fight, and it’s difficult because it’s so ingrained, and I think one of the only ways it will end is when enough academics within the academic community finally say enough,” he said.

Krauss, joined by Yale School of Medicine lecturer in psychiatry Dr. Sally Satel, classicist Solveig Lucia Gold, and evolutionary biologist Carole Hooven, focused on themes in a recent book he edited by the same name, “The War on Science,” a collection of essays from 39 scientists and scholars speaking out against attempts to impose ideological restrictions on science and scholarship in western society.

Report: Netanyahu Ordered Drone Attack on Gaza Aid Flotilla Boats in Tunisia

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directly ordered attacks on the Global Sumud Flotilla that were carried out in early September while the boats were moored in Tunisia, CBS News reported on Friday.

A total of two boats were hit in two attacks that were conducted on September 8 and September 9. Two US intelligence officials told CBS News that Israel forces fired drones from a submarine that dropped incendiary devices and caused fires.

The report noted that under international law, the use of incendiary devices against civilian populations or civilian targets is prohibited. The attacks targeted the Family, a Portuguese-flagged vessel, and the Alma, a British-flagged vessel. In both cases, the crews were able to extinguish the fire, and the attacks caused no casualties.

Judge again blocks deployment of National Guard troops to Oregon, this time from any state

A federal judge on Sunday night issued a second temporary restraining order blocking the Trump administration from deploying National Guard troops to Oregon, this time from any state, The Associated Press reported, as protests in the state’s largest city continued.

The judge’s ruling came after the Trump administration ordered 400 members of the Texas National Guard to deploy to several states, including Oregon, as well as 300 from California. Both states then asked the judge to block the Trump administration’s moves.

During a hastily called evening telephone hearing, U.S. District Judge Karin Immergut granted a temporary restraining order sought by the two states.

Immergut, who was appointed by Trump in his first term, seemed incredulous that the president moved to send National Guard troops to Oregon from neighboring California and then from Texas on Sunday, just hours after she had ruled the first time.

“How could bringing in federalized National Guard from California not be in direct contravention to the temporary restraining order I issued yesterday?” she questioned the federal government’s attorney, cutting him off.

“Aren’t defendants simply circumventing my order?” she said later. “Why is this appropriate?”

It Has Come to This: Chicago Police Told to Abandon ICE Officers Who Were Attacked in a Gunfight

Governors and mayors in Blue cities are the new Confederates. They are, so far, not engaged in a shooting war with federal law enforcement officers, but they have declared open season for others to attack and shoot at them.

I guess it is on-brand for the Chicago Police to ignore gunshots, but generally speaking, law enforcement officers respond promptly when other law enforcement officers request assistance when their lives are endangered.

This morning, during routine patrolling in Broadview, in the same area of Chicago that law enforcement were assaulted yesterday, our brave law enforcement officers were rammed by vehicles and boxed in by 10 cars.

Agents were unable to move their vehicles and exited the car. One of the drivers who rammed the law enforcement vehicle was armed with a semi-automatic weapon. Law enforcement was forced to deploy their weapons and fire defensive shots at an armed US citizen who drove herself to the hospital to get care for wounds.

The armed woman was named in a @CBP intelligence bulletin last week for doxing agents and posting online ‘Hey to all my gang let’s fuck those mother fuckers up, don’t let them take anyone.’

Thankfully, no law enforcement officers were seriously injured in this attack.

Pritzker’s Chicago Police Department is leaving the shooting scene and refuses to assist us in securing the area. There is a growing crowd and we are deploying special operations to control the scene.

CBP officers were attacked–their trucks boxed in between a large number of cars with hostile aggressors who rammed the truck–and wound up having to discharge their weapons at an armed woman who was helping lead the attack.

The United States promotes an alliance with Argentina in artificial intelligence, nuclear energy, and critical minerals to counter China’s influence in the region

Artificial intelligence is at the center of great-power competition. The United States is promoting “American AI” through initiatives such as the Partnership for Global Inclusivity on AI (PGIAI), launched with industry partners to expand AI access and training globally.

The White House’s AI Action Plan (2025) explicitly identifies diplomacy and standard-setting as tools to align partner nations with U.S. frameworks.

By embedding U.S.-based AI ecosystems in Hispanic America, Washington offers democratic governance standards and trusted digital infrastructure.

This strategy not only supports innovation but also reduces the risk of dependency on Chinese platforms, which carry surveillance and data security concerns.

While outcomes are not guaranteed, these initiatives increase the likelihood that regional AI standards will align with U.S. interests.

California’s Vague ‘Hate Speech’ Bill Would Force Big Tech To Censor Mainstream Conservative Views

alifornia lawmakers are once again leading the charge — not toward progress, but toward repression. Their latest move, Senate Bill 771 (SB-771), is being packaged as a bold stand against “hate” on social media. In reality, it’s a direct assault on the free expression and constitutionally protected speech of ministries, minority groups, and faith-based organizations.

The bill would force Big Tech to remove content that could be interpreted as “harassment” or “intimidation” based on race, gender identity, sexual orientation, and more — or face financially devastating lawsuits.

If Gov. Gavin Newsom signs this bill into law as expected, it will become one of the most dangerous speech-restricting laws in the country. Cloaked in the language of civil rights, SB-771 is built to punish dissent from progressive orthodoxy.

The target is anyone who dares to speak publicly about values or perspectives that conflict with the state’s ever-expanding list of protected identities. In practice, this means community groups sharing discussions on traditional family structures, cultural views on gender roles, or advocacy for certain social issues may find themselves silenced — not by law enforcement, but by tech giants eager to avoid legal risk.

The bills says:

California law prohibits all persons and entities, including corporations, from engaging in, aiding, abetting, or conspiring to commit acts of violence, intimidation, or coercion based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, immigration status, or other protected characteristics.

3273.73. (a) A social media platform that violates Section 51.7, 51.9, 52, or 52.1 through its algorithms that relay content to users or aids, abets, acts in concert, or conspires in a violation of any of those sections, or is a joint tortfeasor in a violation of any of those sections, shall, in addition to any other remedy, be liable to a prevailing plaintiff for a civil penalty for each violation sufficient to deter future violations but not to exceed the following:

(1) For an intentional, knowing, or willful violation, a civil penalty of up to one million dollars

(2) For a reckless violation, a civil penalty of up to five hundred thousand dollars.

This language may appear just, but its sweeping terms — “intimidation,” “coercion,” even “aiding” — are dangerously vague. In the hands of ideologically motivated actors, they can be weaponized to silence constitutionally protected discourse under the guise of enforcing civil rights.

That’s the chilling brilliance of SB-771: it outsources censorship to the private sector under threat of state-enforced financial ruin. The law doesn’t need to directly ban speech — it just makes the cost of hosting it too high for Big Tech to tolerate. This will especially impact small ministries, minority-led organizations, and faith-based nonprofits with limited legal or technical resources. For them, one flagged post — perhaps a cultural reference taken out of context — could mean being shadow-banned or deplatformed altogether.

Tunisian Man Sentenced to Death for Facebook Posts Critical of President Kais Saied

A Tunisian court has handed down a death sentence to a man accused of posting critical remarks about President Kais Saied on Facebook, a decision that has sent shockwaves through the country’s already tense political climate.

Lawyer Oussama Bouthalja confirmed that 56-year-old day laborer Saber Chouchane was convicted over social media posts that mocked and denounced the president.

“The judge in the Nabeul court sentenced the man to death over Facebook posts. It is a shocking and unprecedented ruling,” Bouthalja said, describing the decision as both extraordinary and alarming.

Chouchane, who has little formal education, was arrested last year after running a Facebook page titled “Kaïs le misérable” (“Kaïs the Miserable”), a name openly deriding President Saied.

Reuters reported his online activity included satirical cartoons, posts urging protests, and messages that prosecutors described as attempts to “overthrow the state.”

Authorities accused him of spreading “false news” and “insulting the president,” charges that rights advocates argue are being used to silence dissent.

An appeal has been filed, according to Bouthalja, but Tunisia’s justice ministry has not commented on the case.

Although courts in Tunisia sometimes issue death sentences, no executions have been carried out for over 30 years.

Family members expressed disbelief and anguish following the ruling. “We can’t believe it,” said Jamal Chouchane, Saber’s brother. “We are a family suffering from poverty, and now oppression and injustice have been added to poverty.”

The verdict ignited a wave of outrage online, as Tunisians flooded social media with messages of disbelief and defiance.

Many see the ruling as a blatant attempt to intimidate government opponents and restrict free expression even further.

Opposition figures have been jailed on a range of charges, while rights organizations, including the Tunisian League for Human Rights and the CRLDHT, warn that the justice system is being weaponized to punish dissent.

The absence of transparency surrounding Chouchane’s posts has also drawn attention. Authorities have not released screenshots or transcripts, a move many view as an attempt to suppress the very content that challenged the government.

For Tunisians who once celebrated the country’s post-revolution commitment to free speech, this is a chilling new chapter.

Plane forced to land after wacko wearing ‘15 masks’ screams that gay people were giving him cancer

A New Jersey-bound plane was forced to divert after an unruly passenger wearing over a dozen facemasks began ranting that gay people were giving him cancer.

The Sun Country Airlines plane left Minneapolis for Newark Friday morning, but cut its trip short and landed in Chicago after the wacko’s ravings escalated into screams of “the plane is going down.”

Fellow passenger Seth Evans was sitting across the aisle from the nut, and told the Minnesota Star Tribune that chaos started the moment the plane took off when he started raving about being “gang chased” by gay people.

The man also screamed he was being “radiated” and “cooked” by gays, and that they were giving him cancer, the witness said.

Perhaps to stave off the supposed onslaught, the crackpot was wearing “no less than 15 masks” over his mouth, Evans told the Tribune.

At one point, the man even announced “Trump is here.”

But screaming deluded conspiracies wasn’t all the man was good for — between each outburst he buckled down and played a round of Candy Crush, before standing up and mouthing off again at top volume.

The game was over, however, when his declarations were made about the plane crashing.

Once on the ground at O’Hare International Airport, the man was handcuffed and hauled off by Chicago police.

DOJ Opens Investigation Into Antifa-Indulging Portland Police

Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon sent a message Friday to the anarchist-abetting Portland Police Bureau (PPB) and Portland’s leftist city attorney: unlawful policing will not be tolerated.

Dhillon, who heads up the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, said her office has launched an investigation into Portland law enforcement after Antifa thugs allegedly attacked independent reporters during increasingly violent riots at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Facility in South Portland.

Police arrested Nick Sortor on Thursday on disorderly conduct charges following an altercation with the leftist protesters. Earlier this week, Post Millennial reporter Katie Daviscourt said she was assaulted with a flagpole while covering the nightly mayhem at the ICE building.

In her letter to Portland Police Chief Bob Day and City Attorney Robert Taylor, Dhillon demands answers about the Portland Police Bureau’s handling of the incidents, specifically the “use of its policing powers in a manner that may be based on viewpoint discrimination.” It also suggests that the city may not be living up to its agreement with the Justice Department to cease activity that “deprives individuals of rights, privileges, or immunities secured by the Constitution or federal law.”

On Friday afternoon, Dhillon posted on X that the Civil Rights Division, at the direction of Attorney General Pam Bondi, launched the probe into Portland’s “highly questionable police practices.”

“We will not leave the people of Portland at the whims of criminals and woke cops. Govern yourselves accordingly!” the assistant AG vowed.
