Trump Deploys National Guard to Memphis, U.S. Military Lawyer Weighs in on Legality

President Trump announced he will deploy the National Guard to Memphis, calling the city “deeply troubled.” Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris, a Democrat, urged the administration not to send troops and said he may pursue legal action. “We will do everything in our power to prevent this incursion into Tennessee and to protect the rights, safety, and dignity of every resident,” Harris declared.

Crime has been rampant in U.S. cities, especially under Democrat leadership in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Chicago, Boston, and New York. Officials in these cities have been accused of manipulating statistics to suggest crime is at historic lows, downgrading offenses, releasing illegal immigrants without bail, and only counting convictions, even though many offenders never returned for trial.

Harris has made similar claims, insisting crime in Memphis is at a multiyear low, though the city remains among the most dangerous in the country. Across large and mid-sized cities, crime is rising, yet Democrat leaders refuse to address it. In response, Trump has deployed the National Guard and Marines in Los Angeles, federalized the police in Washington D.C., and pledged to act in other cities.

John Deaton, a U.S. Marine veteran, trial attorney, and author, explained in an interview with The Gateway Pundit the legality of such actions. “In D.C., where President Trump authorized the National Guard, it’s been federalized. Federal law governs D.C., and the commander in chief has that authority pretty much carte blanche for 30 days. After that, Congress must authorize it, unless the president declares an emergency.”

Outside Washington, the rules are different. Deaton noted that when Trump sent Marines to California, they had a limited mission: protecting federal officers, ICE agents, and federal property. “That was completely appropriate because there was a threat,” he said.

He also pointed to the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, which prohibits active-duty troops from day-to-day law enforcement. Soldiers cannot arrest suspects, investigate crimes, or act as police officers. Their role is confined to crowd control and guarding facilities and personnel.

“There are exceptions,” Deaton added. “If there is an invasion of a certain type, President Trump, for example, cited MS-13 flooding into certain cities, that constitutes an invasion, and he can use those mechanisms.”

President Trump has declared emergencies and deployed military forces at the U.S. southern border and in several cities, including Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and Memphis.

TikTok User Calls For Charlie Kirk’s Widow and Children, Elected Officials, CEOs to be Murdered Next – “His Wife and Kids Need to Go Too… Get Rid of the Whole Family”

Many are now calling for an investigation into a black woman after she called for a “revolution” and the murder of Charlie Kirk’s entire family at a time of heightened political division and potential for violence following Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

“I’m surprised that y’all didn’t get rid of him sooner, and I’m surprised that you guys aren’t getting rid of more people. Like, don’t stop with him. Don’t let him be the end dog. Get rid of them all!” she said in the now-viral clip.

The individual goes by the names @noryy_bell on TikTok and Estoy Dokusei on Instagram.

Millions of conservatives across the globe are peacefully mourning the loss of the great 31-year-old conservative icon and, as Glenn Beck accurately put it, civil rights leader, who played a major role in saving freedom of speech and open dialogue. This is why they killed him.

But this woman wants us all dead.

The illiterate woman in a TikTok video was seen actively encouraging violence against Charlie Kirk’s wife, two young children, parents, and grandparents. “Y’all keep on talking about his wife and kids. They need to go too, because they’re carrying on that mentality and that lineage, like get rid of the whole family… Why did you stop with him?” she says.

“Go get his grandma because who raised you? Like your mom ought to be ashamed for birthing a scum like you. Get rid of the whole family.”

The woman, who is apparently from Georgia, also calls for the death of “the ones that are above him,” adding, “your mayor, your city councilman. What is it, Georgia Power? The people that keep on raising our sh*t, the CEO.”

She then invokes the words “revolution” and “progress,” taunting activists for being “too scary,” which is thought to mean too scared.

“Y’all want results without putting in the work. You gon’ have to take out trash to get a clean house… Take the garbage out, y’all.”

The text in her video reads, “dont let it stop with charlie.”

Maher: ‘Racist’ for Dems to Be Soft on Crime to Cater to Black Voters

On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher said that it is racist for Democrats to think that they need to adopt soft-on-crime policies in order to cater to black voters, and “It’s kind of saying we think the black people are the criminals.”

The Atlantic Staff Writer Tim Alberta stated, “Traditionally, Bill, Democrats representing urban areas had taken these sort of soft-on-crime policies, in part because they were afraid of alienating a core constituency, black voters. What’s interesting is that, even as polling has shown, clearly, that more and more black voters have advocated for tougher policing policies, many of these same Democratic politicians have remained very reluctant to get tougher on crime. Why? Because they’re afraid of alienating a different demographic, white liberals in the suburbs.”

Maher responded, “It’s so racist. It’s kind of saying we think the black people are the criminals. Some are. Not most.”

Daily Wire co-founder and “Ben Shapiro Show” host Ben Shapiro then stated, “Implicitly, the argument that we have to be soft on crime in order to get black votes, like black people want crime.”

Maher then cut in to say, “It’s racist.” Which Shapiro agreed with.

Maher added that incarceration is “certainly part of the solution.” But he doesn’t agree with using the National Guard.

Tusk’s Poland Increasingly Open To Illegal Immigrants

A judgment delivered on Monday in Białystok, eastern Poland, marked a worrying turning point for the country. Five pro-migrant activists, accused of helping foreigners illegally cross the Polish border and facilitating their onward journey to Western Europe, were acquitted. The Independence March Association, which organizes the large patriotic march on November 11 in Warsaw, and the Ordo Iuris Institute for Legal Culture, both took part in the trial as social organizations. These conservative NGOs had demanded that the activists be convicted.

However, the court of first instance ruled that these far-left activists had not personally benefited from their actions and that, therefore, their assistance should be regarded as humanitarian. This reasoning, which effectively whitewashes those who facilitate illegal immigration under the guise of generosity, weakens the state in its fight against human trafficking and undermines the external border of the European Union. The signal sent to prospective migrants in Africa and the Middle East is clear: the EU’s eastern gate is open.

This jurisprudence strongly recalls the decision made in France in 2018 by the Constitutional Council, which invoked the general “principle of fraternity” enshrined in the French Republic’s motto to usurp the role of the legislator and legalize disinterested assistance to illegal immigrants. At the time, supporters of French national sovereignty denounced this as a betrayal of the spirit of republican law by an unelected body, transforming solidarity into a tool for erasing national borders.

This development in Poland is no coincidence. In both Poland and France, judges are more likely to hold progressive, left-wing views than conservative, sovereigntist ones. “Since his return to power, Prime Minister Donald Tusk has consistently acted weakly while projecting firmness in his words. It should also be remembered that, when he was still in opposition, he constantly criticized the construction of the border fence with Belarus, presented by the previous government as an essential bulwark against Minsk’s hybrid strategy of pushing migrants into Polish territory. So, whenever Donald Tusk today claims he wants to combat illegal immigration and pretends his predecessors failed in this task, the current opposition doesn’t hesitate to remind him of his own words as leader of the opposition under the Law and Justice government: “They are poor people looking for their place on earth. There’s no need for such disgusting, sinister propaganda against migrants, because these are people who need help.”

Rapper Azealia Banks Claims Iryna Zarutska Was a ‘Spy/Prostitute’ and Murder Suspect Was a ‘Gov’t Hitman’

Rapper Azealia Banks wrote a wild conspiracy theory that the Ukrainian refugee who was killed on the Charlotte mass transit system is a “spy” and “prostitute,” and the murder suspect is a “government hitman.”

Iryna Zarutska, 23, was stabbed multiple times on the Charlotte light rail train on August 22. She died on the spot, bleeding to death on the floor of the train after the unprovoked attack from behind. Police later arrested Decarlos Brown Jr., 34, and charged hm for the woman’s murder.

But now, Azealia Banks says she thinks there is some sort of grand conspiracy taking place here. Instead of a cowardly murder, Banks seems to think there is something out of a bad Jason Bourne movie going on in North Carolina.

“Honestly guys – I don’t think this was random,” she wrote in her Wednesday X post. “Spirit tells me she was a spy/prostitute of some sort and he’s a contract killer for some government agency or another.”

“Because no one else would get let off FOURTEEN TIMES. We also have heard near zero from her friends/family/coworkers etc.,” Banks theorized — obviously wholly unaware that criminals are being let loose from jail wholesale by left-wing prosecutors, and “justice” systems in deep blue cities all across the country.

“She is definitely some Ukranian [sic] prostitute who was sent to spy and had some information someone didn’t want her to have and they offed her,” she declared.

“Parents randomly stuck in Ukraine due to the war? Come on…… And no community of young girls who would have been her peers came out to mourn her??? One friend named ‘Lonnie?’”

She continued, spinning more to her tale, writing, “That aunt and uncle have no occupation listed. The parents in Ukraine probably don’t even exist.”

German farmer investigated over gift from Russia

A farmer is facing criminal prosecution in Germany over receiving a small Easter gift from a Russian friend. The man is now accused of violating sanctions and could face up to five years behind bars.

A public prosecutor’s office in the northeastern German state of Mecklenburg–Western Pomerania confirmed on Friday that a criminal case had indeed been opened against a local man on suspicion of violating the restrictions.

The case dates back several months, to when a German customs office intercepted a small package which was sent to the farmer from Russia. According to the broadcaster NDR, the package contained a piece of soap, a wooden figurine, and a CD – worth less than €27 ($32) in total. All of the items were on the sanctions list, the report said, adding that the customs office had confiscated the package and a probe was opened into it.

The farmer, who has been identified as Rudolf Denissen by NDR, could face between three months and five years of imprisonment if found guilty. The prosecutor’s office also requested an official written statement from him, as well as “complete personal details and information on net monthly income.”

Harry Miller Accused of Hate Crime – for Tweet Celebrating Dismissal of Trans Police Officer Who Stalked Him

Harry Miller, a former police officer who now campaigns for free speech, was accused of a hate crime by police for a tweet celebrating the dismissal of a trans police officer who had stalked him. The Telegraph has the story.

Harry Miller, a former police officer who now campaigns for free speech, was questioned under caution by Lincolnshire Police for a tweet welcoming the officer’s removal.

Mr Miller had been the victim of a sustained campaign of harassment by Lynsay Watson, a transgender constable with the Leicestershire force who was the complainant behind the arrest last week of Graham Linehan, the comedy writer.

Watson was sacked for gross misconduct in October 2023 after being found guilty of sending more than 1,200 messages to Mr Miller over an 18-month period, branding him a “Nazi”, a “bigot” and “wife beater”.

Mr Miller, who set up the Fair Cop campaign group to remove politics from policing, posted a tweet welcoming the decision. However, in November 2024, more than a year later, he was accused of having committed a criminal offence over the wording of the tweet and questioned under caution.

He was accused of having impersonated the Chief Constable of Leicestershire Police in his online remarks, seemingly because the offending tweet began: “Statement re the dismissal of PC Watson from @leicspolice”. The detective sergeant who interviewed him suggested the post read as though it was a statement being issued on behalf of Leicestershire Police.

Mr Miller was also accused of misgendering Watson in an article he had written about his stalking ordeal for the Critic magazine.

He was informed he was being questioned on suspicion of a breach of the Online Safety Act, which makes it a criminal offence to send a message knowing it to be false and intending it cause non-trivial psychological or physical harm without a reasonable excuse.

The Online Safety Act gained Royal Assent on October 26th 2023, the day before Mr Miller posted the tweet, but did not become law until January 31st last year, so could not have been applied in this case.

Mr Miller was subsequently released with no further action.

“Billions In Losses”: Retail Crime Has Surged 93% In Progressive Cities

America’s great cities once symbolized prosperity and culture. Now, many are paying a steep financial price as crime surges and businesses flee. As one line in a new op-ed piece put it, “Crime has a balance sheet. In poorly led cities, that balance sheet is bleeding red ink by the day.”

Retail is bearing the brunt, according to an op-ed by Ted Jenkin at Fox News. The National Retail Federation (NRF) reported U.S. retailers lost $112 billion in 2022 due to theft, up from $94 billion in 2021. Between 2019 and 2023, shoplifting incidents rose 93% and dollar losses climbed 90%. Major chains are pulling back: Target projected $500 million in additional losses this year, Walgreens has shut stores across San Francisco, and Nordstrom left downtown entirely.

“Does it seem insane to you that so many of these retail stores have to lock up much of the merchandise…knowing that they will never be arrested?” the piece asked. The fallout is visible in empty storefronts and shrinking city budgets. San Francisco’s downtown vacancy rate has hit 34.8%, erasing jobs, tax revenue, and foot traffic.

Migrant who ‘beheaded’ boss escaped deportation despite gruesome criminal record

The suspect in a horrific beheading of a motel manager in Texas had been detained by federal immigration officials — only to be released despite his rampant history of crimes across three states.

Cuban Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, 37, allegedly decapitated his boss and later kicking the head across the parking lot ‘like a soccer ball’ before tossing it into a dumpster.

He had previously been detained and released by Immigration and Customs Enforcement or ICE, according to the Dallas Fox station

‘The migrant had been detained on January 13 and later released, despite a removal order to kick him out of the country because there was ‘no significant likelihood for removal in the foreseeable future,’ ICE told WFAA.

‘This barbaric criminal was released because Cuba would not accept him because of his criminal history.’

However, the local outlet found found footage of deportation flights to the island nation in 2023.

Additionally, Cobos-Martinez was wanted for a probation violation in California, with an active warrant.

It’s unclear why Trump immigration officials did not arrest him on his active warrant, despite their immigration crackdown promise to arrest the ‘worst of the worst.’

In another violent episode, Cobos-Martinez allegedly carjacked a woman in south Lake Tahoe, California while he was naked.

Two years ago, he was convicted in that case and sentence to a year and a half in prison. He also had a record in Florida, according to Fox 4 TV.

More information is surfacing about victim, Chandra Nagamallaiah, 50 as well.

6 more officers fired over handling of domestic violence-fueled triple homicide in South Florida

A South Florida sheriff’s office has fired six more deputies and disciplined 11 others for their handling of the case of Mary Gingles, a woman who investigators say was murdered by her estranged husband after she had warned officers for months that she feared he would kill her. Two officers had previously been dismissed for their role in the case.

An internal investigation found that multiple Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies failed to properly investigate Gingles’ reports of domestic violence perpetrated by her husband, Nathan Gingles, before he allegedly carried out the triple homicide of his wife, her father, David Ponzer, and her neighbor Andrew Ferrin, as the Gingles’ four-year-old daughter begged her father to stop.

Nathan Gingles has pleaded not guilty. If convicted, he could face the death penalty.

The killings – despite Mary Gingles’ repeated pleas for help – have shaken the South Florida community of Tamarac and ignited fresh scrutiny of officers’ failure to use the state’s red flag law to remove firearms from a person deemed a danger to themselves or others.

Following through on threats that Mary Gingles had repeatedly reported, on Feb. 16, 2025, Nathan Gingles fatally shot his father-in-law as he was drinking coffee on the back patio of the family’s home, before chasing Mary down the street and killing her and Ferrin, a neighbor whose home she fled to, according to investigators.

“We had multiple opportunities to protect Mary during the months preceding her death when she alerted us to the domestic violence she was experiencing. The deputies and detectives assigned to investigate these cases failed their training and, ultimately, failed to handle Mary’s repeated cries for help with the urgency required,” Broward Sheriff Gregory Tony said in a statement.

According to an investigation by the Miami Herald, in the year leading up to her murder, Mary Gingles had confided in friends, family and law enforcement officers that she feared her estranged husband would kill her.

He repeatedly violated restraining orders barring him from the family’s home, terrorizing his wife by putting a tracker on her car and leaving a backpack full of supplies like duct tape and zip ties in the garage, the investigation found.

Gingles’ alleged behavior in the months leading up to the killings was consistent with what experts say are known risk factors for further abuse, including deadly violence. More female intimate partners are killed by firearms than by all other means combined, according to a Department of Justice analysis of a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“One of the most crucial steps to prevent lethal violence is to disarm abusers and keep them disarmed,” the Justice Department’s report stated.
