LinkedIn censors Swedish journalist’s profile in China after he references Tiananmen Square thesis

Microsoft-owned LinkedIn has censored the profile of Swedish journalist Jojje Olsson in China after he included a single sentence in the “Education” section of his profile that referenced his thesis on the Tiananmen Square massacre and the Cultural Revolution.

LinkedIn is one of the few Western social networks to not be blocked in China because of its willingness to “implement the Chinese government’s restrictions on content” and apply these restrictions to the profiles of non-Chinese users when they’re viewed from China.

By introducing this censored version of LinkedIn in China, the US platform has grown its Chinese user base to 53 million users and China is now its third-largest market.

LinkedIn didn’t specifically mention which part of the Education section in Olsson’s profile had led to the censorship but the sentence on the Tiananmen Square massacre and the Cultural Revolution is the only part of this section that references topics that are often censored by the Chinese state.

Canon Installs Smile Recognition Technology In Chinese Offices; Employees Can Only Enter Rooms If They Smile

Canon has reportedly installed “smile recognition” technology in the offices of its Chinese subsidiary, with employees only permitted to enter rooms or book meetings if they are smiling.

The AI-backed technology was first reported by The Financial Times, on the subject of how Chinese corporations are tracking employees with the help of cutting-edge technology.

As The Verge noted, “Firms are monitoring which programs employees use on their computers to gauge their productivity; using CCTV cameras to measure how long they take on their lunch break; and even tracking their movements outside the office using mobile apps.”

“Workers are not being replaced by algorithms and artificial intelligence. Instead, the management is being sort of augmented by these technologies,” King’s College London academic Nick Srnicek told The Financial Times. “Technologies are increasing the pace for people who work with machines instead of the other way around, just like what happened during the industrial revolution in the 18th century.”

Canon first announced its “Smiley Face” intelligent ecosystem in October 2020.

Feinstein Accepts Lifetime Achievement Award From Bush Scion’s CCP-Backed Group

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D., Calif.) last week quietly accepted a lifetime achievement award from a foundation with deep ties to a Chinese Communist Party front group.

The George H.W. Bush Foundation for U.S.-China Relations honored Feinstein for her commitment to “a robust and mutually beneficial U.S.-China relationship.” The group is heavily funded by the China-U.S. Exchange Foundation, a Hong Kong-based think tank considered a key player in the Chinese Communist Party’s united front propaganda system. Axios reported last week that the Exchange Foundation gave the Bush foundation a five-year, $5 million grant in 2019 to promote ties between the United States and China.

U.S. officials have expressed concern that the Exchange Foundation serves as an influence agent for the Chinese government. CIA director William Burns testified at his February confirmation hearing that he ended a partnership with the group when he served as president of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, citing the think tank’s influence activities. Feinstein attended that hearing as a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Feinstein has come under scrutiny for China-related matters before. She said last year that China was “growing into a respectable nation” and cautioned against holding China accountable for the coronavirus pandemic. Feinstein also employed a suspected Chinese spy as a congressional aide for nearly two decades. She supported expanded trade relations with China while her husband sought business deals in the country.

Defector Provides Evidence That the Chinese Military Orchestrated the Creation of COVID-19 and Lab Leak

One week ago we reported that a man believed to be the highest-ranking Chinese defector ever was working with the Defense Intelligence Agency and that he had direct knowledge of special weapons programs in China, including bioweapons programs. We also reported that the defector provided an extensive, technically detailed debrief to US officials, that the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) was able to corroborate very technical details of the information provided, and that in DIA’s assessment, the information provided by the defector is legitimate.

RedState has now learned some details of the information provided by the defector, including that he provided data proving that SARS-CoV-2 was manmade and leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, in addition to evidence confirming that the People’s Liberation Army managed the Wuhan program (and others), as Chinese virologist Yan Li-Meng told the FBI last year.

Technical details provided by the defector, RedState is told, were given to scientists (who were not told how that information was given to the government) who then re-analyzed data from published sources in conjunction with the new data and concluded that the SARS-CoV-2 virus was engineered. And, the defector was able to confirm numerous non-public details Yan provided the US government.

Pause for a moment and consider this. Our government now has additional evidence that a virus that killed 600,000 Americans, sickened millions more, nearly destroyed our economy, and inflicted untold collateral damage, was a bioweapon created by the Chinese military and deliberately released.

I say “additional” evidence because the FBI has had some of this evidence for more than a year and the person who brought it forward has only been subjected to a thorough smear campaign for her efforts – which is highly relevant when attempting to understand the newest defector’s actions.

Was Covid Researcher Bing Liu Murdered Because he was About to Expose Covid’s Lab Origin?

In May of last year, it was reported that a Covid-19 researcher, Bing Liu, was found dead inside his home, just days after it was believed he was on the “verge of making very significant” discoveries about the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19). With the recent revelations pointing towards the virus being leaked from a Wuhan lab, is it possible that Bing was about to expose the origins of Covid?

On the 6th May 2020, NBC News reported that Bing Liu, 37, a researcher at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, was discovered in his home in Ross Township, north of Pittsburgh, having been shot to death. Bing had been shot in the head and the neck.

During his research career, Liu had collaborated with biologists and clinicians to study human immunity.

In a statement, the University of Pittsburgh said: “Bing was on the verge of making very significant findings toward understanding the cellular mechanisms that underlie SARS-CoV-2 infection and the cellular basis of the following complications.”

Taking recent revelations into consideration, could it be Bing had discovered that Covid-19 had been tampered with and intentionally leaked from the Wuhan lab? Could it also be possible that Bing was going to expose the false narrative that is the Covid bat origin story?

More Incriminating Video Shows EcoHealth Alliance’s Peter Daszak, Funder of the Wuhan Lab, Truly Is a Bond Villain

Our tongue-in-cheek references aside, Peter Daszak is turning out to be a nuclear-grade, evil dude. The Bond villain imagery of Dr. Julius No, Auric Goldfinger, or Elliot Carver is not doing him justice.

Not. At. All.

My colleague Scott Hounsell has done excellent work unmasking (pun fully intended) Daszak:

There is one name, however, which keeps coming up related to the virus, tied to the funding, research, and now, the potential ongoing cover-up of gain-of-function research conducted at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.  That name is Peter Daszak.

Daszak is the President of EcoHealth Alliance, the organization which has funneled at least $600,000 to the WIV in the course of the last several years. Daszak also has conducted his own research in conjunction with Dr. Shi Zhengli of the WIV, some of which is categorically and indisputably gain-of-function.  But it seems that no matter where you turn on this story, Daszak is there.

From Mr. Hounsell’s detailed articles, here is what we know:

  • On April 18, 2020, just six weeks after the initial outbreak in the United States, Daszak sent an email to Dr. Anthony Fauci, thanking him for his comments dismissing the lab-leak theory.
  • Daszak has been mounting counter offensives about the Wuhan virus from Day 1. Daszak was one of the authors of the World Health Organization (WHO) report: “Report of the WHO-China Joint Mission of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)”. In this report, the WHO determined that the virus likely originated from a zoonotic spillover or a natural mutation. This report did the work of absolving Daszak, and the Wuhan Institute of Virology, of any liability in the release of the virus. What’s more, Daszak was an “expert” for Science Feedback, Facebook’s Fact Check for all things COVID.
  • The Lancet is a weekly, peer-reviewed medical journal. In the March 7, 2020 issue, a group of scientists from around the world wrote a letter which condemned conspiracy theories about the origins of COVID-19. Daszak was not only a signatory on the letter, but four other signers were either employees of EcoHealth Alliance, or on the board of directors.

There is so much more, and Scott recaps it all here.

‘Let’s not jump to conclusions’: Joe Biden’s acting White House budget director REFUSES to rule out sending more US money to Wuhan lab until science proves if it leaked coronavirus

The acting head of the White House budget office has refused to rule out sending more US money to the Wuhan lab COVID-19 is feared to have leaked from.

Acting Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Shalanda Young said she would ‘never make that commitment’ to cut all future funding to the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China.

Young faced questions from lawmakers about Joe Biden‘s budget proposal during a Budget Committee hearing Wednesday, including pointed questions over the sending of federal funds to the Chinese lab.

There is a growing theory that COVID-19 originated in the Wuhan lab during research into bat coronaviruses. Some experts who support the lab leak theory believe the virus, which has so far killed 3.75 million people, is a natural one, while others claim it may have been genetically modified.

US government officials previously donated $826,000 to the lab over a five year period to help it research viruses like COVID, which is believed to have originally come from bats.

Exposed: China Paid American Media Outlets Millions To Publish Propaganda

China Daily, a Chinese state-run media outlet, is currently paying multiple U.S. news agencies millions of dollars to publish Chicom propaganda.

According to Justice Department documentsTime magazine, the Los Angeles TimesChicago Tribune, and Foreign Policy magazine are all currently receiving money from the Chinese outlet.

For example, as part of a $700,000 advertising campaign paid for by China DailyTime published 75 online articles from the outlet in the past year.

The lucrative deal resulted in Time posting content promoting a Chinese drone maker that provided products to surveil Uyghurs being held captive, an article promoting China’s five-year plan, and several other pro-China pieces.

However, unlike The Wall Street Journal who once took money from China DailyTime magazine failed to disclose the fact that the outlet is funded by the Chinese government.

In the past six months, China Daily increased its advertising spending by over one million dollars.

Time magazine received $700,000 for advertising, the Los Angeles Times was paid $272,000, Foreign Policy and Financial Times received $291,000 and $371,577, respectively and Canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail raked in $329,898.

With China paying American media outlets so much money, it’s not surprising many of them chose to toe the line when it was reported COVID-19 could have been leaked from a Wuhan biolab.

Now, facts have emerged forcing mainstream media to admit the likely scenario that the lab was in fact responsible for the release of the virus.

Time magazine chose to sign the deal with China Daily after The Journal, the New York Times, and the Washington Post all ended their partnerships with the state-run outlet last year.

The Times even admitted they ended the partnership after concerns about publishing Chinese propaganda.

WHO Advisory Board Member Says China Still Engaged In ‘Massive Cover-Up’ Involving Destroying Samples, Silencing Scientists

A World Health Organization advisory board member said Monday that China even now continues to operate a “massive cover-up” on the origins and spread of the coronavirus that caused the global pandemic.

“The Chinese have engaged in a massive cover-up that is going on until this day, involving destroying samples, hiding records, placing a universal gag order on Chinese scientists and imprisoning Chinese citizen journalists asking the most basic questions,” Jamie Metzl said Monday on Fox News.

“The more that China stonewalls, the more suspicious that it looks,” Metzl added. “We can’t give China a veto over whether or not we investigate the world’s worst pandemic in a century and then do everything we can to make everybody safe.”

Investigators are probing whether the coronavirus could have been leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China. Meanwhile, China is reportedly planning on launching 25 to 30 biosafety level three labs and one biosafety level four lab, the kind operated by the Wuhan Institute of Virology, over the next five years.

The idea that the virus could have escaped from a lab was largely dismissed last year as a conspiracy as the pandemic tightened its grip on the U.S., but the theory has been revived in recent weeks after a U.S. intelligence report found that several researchers at China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology were hospitalized in November 2019 with symptoms that resembled COVID-19 symptoms. China previously told the World Health Organization that the first person with symptoms similar to COVID-19 appeared in Wuhan the next month on December 8, 2019.
