Maher: ‘Racist’ for Dems to Be Soft on Crime to Cater to Black Voters

On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher said that it is racist for Democrats to think that they need to adopt soft-on-crime policies in order to cater to black voters, and “It’s kind of saying we think the black people are the criminals.”

The Atlantic Staff Writer Tim Alberta stated, “Traditionally, Bill, Democrats representing urban areas had taken these sort of soft-on-crime policies, in part because they were afraid of alienating a core constituency, black voters. What’s interesting is that, even as polling has shown, clearly, that more and more black voters have advocated for tougher policing policies, many of these same Democratic politicians have remained very reluctant to get tougher on crime. Why? Because they’re afraid of alienating a different demographic, white liberals in the suburbs.”

Maher responded, “It’s so racist. It’s kind of saying we think the black people are the criminals. Some are. Not most.”

Daily Wire co-founder and “Ben Shapiro Show” host Ben Shapiro then stated, “Implicitly, the argument that we have to be soft on crime in order to get black votes, like black people want crime.”

Maher then cut in to say, “It’s racist.” Which Shapiro agreed with.

Maher added that incarceration is “certainly part of the solution.” But he doesn’t agree with using the National Guard.

George Takei Falsely Claims Charlie Kirk Assassination ‘Appears to Be Right on Right Violence’

Star Trek actor and clickbait peddler George Takei is spreading misinformation that the suspect in Charlie Kirk’s political assassination was motivated by right-wing views.

Takei wrote “Kirk’s killing appears to be right on right violence” Friday evening on the leftist echo chamber Bluesky, long after officials revealed that ammunition in the murder weapon was etched with anti-“fascist” slogans — and after a friend of detained suspect Tyler Robinson said the 22-year-old is “pretty left on everything,” “the only member of his family that was really leftist.”

Takei’s obvious falsehood is a widespread one among the online left, with several viral posts claiming without evidence (or with doctored photos) that Robinson was a groyper (fan of Nick Fuentes) or a “white Christian conservative male.” Several posts in this vein reached the front page of Reddit.

Rapper Azealia Banks Claims Iryna Zarutska Was a ‘Spy/Prostitute’ and Murder Suspect Was a ‘Gov’t Hitman’

Rapper Azealia Banks wrote a wild conspiracy theory that the Ukrainian refugee who was killed on the Charlotte mass transit system is a “spy” and “prostitute,” and the murder suspect is a “government hitman.”

Iryna Zarutska, 23, was stabbed multiple times on the Charlotte light rail train on August 22. She died on the spot, bleeding to death on the floor of the train after the unprovoked attack from behind. Police later arrested Decarlos Brown Jr., 34, and charged hm for the woman’s murder.

But now, Azealia Banks says she thinks there is some sort of grand conspiracy taking place here. Instead of a cowardly murder, Banks seems to think there is something out of a bad Jason Bourne movie going on in North Carolina.

“Honestly guys – I don’t think this was random,” she wrote in her Wednesday X post. “Spirit tells me she was a spy/prostitute of some sort and he’s a contract killer for some government agency or another.”

“Because no one else would get let off FOURTEEN TIMES. We also have heard near zero from her friends/family/coworkers etc.,” Banks theorized — obviously wholly unaware that criminals are being let loose from jail wholesale by left-wing prosecutors, and “justice” systems in deep blue cities all across the country.

“She is definitely some Ukranian [sic] prostitute who was sent to spy and had some information someone didn’t want her to have and they offed her,” she declared.

“Parents randomly stuck in Ukraine due to the war? Come on…… And no community of young girls who would have been her peers came out to mourn her??? One friend named ‘Lonnie?’”

She continued, spinning more to her tale, writing, “That aunt and uncle have no occupation listed. The parents in Ukraine probably don’t even exist.”

Stephen King forced to apologize for Charlie Kirk remarks, threatened with lawsuit, ripped as ‘evil, twisted liar’

Best-selling author Stephen King was forced to walk back and apologize for troubling comments he made about Charlie Kirk just hours after the conservative juggernaut was gunned down in cold blood.

Kirk was assassinated on Wednesday at Utah Valley University while the Turning Point USA founder kicked off his college campus tour.

As Blaze News reported, numerous leftists made repugnant remarks regarding the murder of Kirk.

King wrote on the X social media platform, “The motivation of the man who shot Charlie Kirk isn’t clear (although he’s probably mentally unstable — duh). What is clear is it was another example of American gun violence.”

King — an outspoken liberal and donor to the Democratic Party — then stoked division by attacking Kirk after the conservative commentator died from being shot in the neck.

King claimed of Kirk, “He advocated stoning gays to death. Just sayin’.”

King’s scurrilous remarks about the deceased married father of two ignited a firestorm, including threats of a lawsuit.

Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) proposed, “Please share if you agree that the estate of Charlie Kirk should sue Stephen King for defamation over this heinously false accusation. He’s crossed a line. It will prove costly.”

Fox News host Laura Ingraham replied, “Stephen King is a sad, bitter man.”

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) declared, “You are a horrible, evil, twisted liar. No, he did not. Your party — which you shamelessly shilled for — sent $100 billion to the Ayatollah … who does routinely murder homosexuals. Why are you so dishonest & filled with hate?”

Conservative commentator Dave Rubin added, “Hey Stephen King, you are more monstrous than any of the characters you ever came up with. Charlie was never anything but kind to me and my husband. We broke bread many times, and he never treated us with anything other than respect. He even came to our house not too long ago, and plot twist, didn’t throw rocks at us. Write about that sometime, you hack.”

Actress Amber Tamblyn Mocks the Fact that Charlie Kirk’s Daughter Witnessed His Gory Assassination

Actress Amber Tamblyn suggested that the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was a “public execution” and mocked the fact that Kirk’s daughter witnessed his horrific and gruesome murder.

“Wish granted,” Tamblyn wrote in a Thursday BlueSky post, sharing a February 24, 2024 Newsweek article, headlined, “Trump Ally Charlie Kirk Suggests Children Should Watch Public Executions.”

The actress was therefore suggesting that Kirk was “executed” for the fictitious crime of exercising his First Amendment right — seemingly in agreeance with a murderous assassin.

For context, the Newsweek article cited an episode of The Charlie Kirk Show, in which Kirk and co-hosts were hypothetically discussing murderers who have been sentenced to the death penalty receiving a public execution, surmising that crime may go down as a result.

At one point during the panel discussion, co-hosts shared their opinions about what they believed the age limitations should be for people attending a theoretical public execution — should they exist.

Stephen King Makes the Dumbest Prediction About Trump Supporters

Stephen King seems to have replaced his talent for weaving chilling tales with an unhealthy obsession with Donald Trump and his supporters. Instead of focusing on novels, King has turned himself into yet another left-wing pundit who just happens to have a long list of bestsellers on his résumé.

And while his books used to inspire genuine fear, his political predictions are now nothing more than laughable, partisan nonsense. His latest declaration is so ridiculous, it proves just how consumed he’s become with Trump Derangement Syndrome.

According to King, years from now, many Americans who voted for Donald Trump will deny ever having done so. He told The Sunday Times: “Twenty or 30 years down the line, when I’ll be dead and you’ll be old, I think a lot of people are going to say, ‘Well, I never voted for Trump.’” His theory is that Trump voters will someday feel so much cultural backlash and guilt that they’ll try to erase their support from history. It’s a typically smug liberal fantasy—rooted not in reality, but in the assumption that Trump’s presidency was some kind of national disgrace.

The problem for King is that all the available evidence points in the opposite direction. Far from being ashamed of backing Trump, Republicans remain overwhelmingly loyal to him. His approval ratings among GOP voters consistently dominate, and he continues to shore up support thanks to his unapologetic America First policies. His common-sense approaches to immigration enforcement and crime resonate strongly with voters who see those issues as top priorities. If anything, more Republicans today are proudly wearing their MAGA credentials than in 2016. King’s prediction that these voters will suddenly develop mass amnesia is not only absurd; it reeks of the elitist contempt for ordinary Americans that the left can never quite hide.

California Dems Kill Bill Backed by Jay Leno That Would Have Exempted Classic Cars from Emissions Regulations

Not even classic car collector Jay Leno could convince California’s legislative Democrats to give an inch on what a critic called the state’s “regulatory hellscape.”

The Assembly Appropriations Committee blocked Republican Sen. Shannon Grove’s Senate Bill 712, informally known as Leno’s Law, from advancing, according to KABC-TV.

“SB 712, also known as “Leno’s Law,” offers a practical solution for owners of collector vehicles that have difficulty complying with the state’s smog check law,” according to a fact sheet issued by Grove.

“Leno’s Law is sponsored by renowned car enthusiast and television icon Jay Leno. The bill would exempt, on an ongoing basis, collector cars whose model year is 35 years or older from the state’s smog check law,” the fact sheet said.

“The bill would also exempt classic cars from the smog check program upon transfer of a vehicle. These classic cars are infrequently driven, carefully maintained, and make up only a fraction of cars on the road,” the fact sheet said.

“Exempting them from the biennial smog check would strengthen California’s ‘car culture’ by helping preserve these historical treasures,” the fact sheet said.

The fact sheet said forcing classic cars to meet current standards “is an overreach by the government.”

ICYMI: Video Of RFK Jr. Pile-Driving Bill Maher Over Vax on His Own Show – Left Audience Applauding for Kennedy

Sometimes, one needs reminding that the public debate over the efficacy of COVID vaccines has always pitted faith against reason.

No one, of course — certainly no one who reads The Western Journal — should denigrate faith in general. But the object matters. Faith in what exactly?

In April 2024 — four months before he allied with now-President Donald Trump — now-Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was running as an independent presidential candidate.

He appeared on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” and delivered what any reasonable person would regard as a knockout blow to the host’s pro-vaccine argument.

Maher, however, would not concede defeat. After all, as a liberal, his faith in science — particularly COVID vaccine science — amounts to a kind of religion.

Clips of the exchange began circulating again this week on the social media platform X. It became even more relevant on Monday, when Trump used his social media platform Truth Social to demand that “Drug Companies justify the success of their various Covid Drugs.”

Moreover, last week, the Trump administration fired Director Susan Monarez from the Centers for Disease Control. This prompted resignations from four other CDC officials.

In short, the debate over COVID vaccines has taken center stage once again. And this time, there isn’t a Biden administration around to censor it.

Thus, the Kennedy-Maher exchange reminds us of why this debate remains so maddening to skeptics of coronavirus vaccinations.

In a clip posted to YouTube, Maher began by asking about Kennedy’s vice-presidential running mate, Nicole Shanahan. The host noted that Shanahan wanted to recall the Moderna vaccine, which Maher happened to have gotten.

Kennedy responded by citing polls on the subject.

“There’s 25 percent of Americans who believe that they know somebody who was killed by a COVID vaccine,” Kennedy stated.

“Killed?” Maher queried.

“Killed — 25 percent. Fifty-two percent of Americans believe the vaccines are causing injuries, including death,” Kennedy continued. If nothing else, that amounts to a significant public-perception problem for the drug companies.

Kennedy also mentioned clinical trial studies of the Pfizer vaccine.

“People who got the vaccine had a 23 percent higher death rate from all causes at the end of that study,” he said.

Then came the remarkable exchange that ignited huge applause.

“But that could not be the disease itself?” Maher asked.

“If it is, then the vaccine doesn’t work, does it?” Kennedy replied.

The laughter and applause from the crowd practically drowned out the host’s protests.

“Well, no, no that’s … not true at all,” Maher insisted, appearing annoyed at his own audience.

Graham Linehan Arrested by Armed Police Over X Posts as UK Free Speech Crisis Deepens

There are many ways to return to Britain after a long-haul flight. Maybe you get a cup of tea, a mildly annoyed customs agent, and a taxi driver who tells you London’s gone to hell. Or, if you’re Graham Linehan, you’re met at Heathrow by five armed officers who then take you into custody over things you wrote on the internet.

The man who created Father Ted and The IT Crowd, shows that helped define British humor, was arrested, detained, and taken to hospital, all because of three tweets.

He wrote later: “I was arrested at an airport like a terrorist, locked in a cell like a criminal, taken to hospital because the stress nearly killed me, and banned from speaking online.”

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Linehan was arrested on suspicion of inciting violence, related to posts he made on X. Armed officers from the Met’s Aviation Unit escorted Linehan off of a flight from Arizona and into custody.

The tweets in question included one joke suggesting that if a “trans-identified male” is found in a women-only space, people should “make a scene, call the cops and if all else fails, punch him in the balls.”

Rosie O’Donnell Forced to Appologize After Disgusting Smear of Trump Supporters and Lying About Motives of Trans Killer

Rather than take a pause during a tragedy, failed far-left comedian Rosie O’Donnell immediately tried to blame the horrific violence on Donald Trump supporters.

O’Donnell took to social media to falsely claim the transgender Minneapolis Catholic school shooter was a “Republican, MAGA person, white supremacist.”

O’Donnell peddled this unhinged smear despite the fact that the trans-shooter had “kill Donald Trump” scrawled across one of his gun magazines.

Immediately following the tragedy, O’Donnell took to social media and shared,  “What do you know? [The shooter] was a white guy, Republican, MAGA person. White supremacist.”

The shooter, who identified as trans,  was confirmed to be Robert/RobinWestman.

By Sunday, O’Donnell walked back her vile remarks and was forced to admit that the reality did not align with her agenda.

“I knew a lot of you were very upset about the video I made before I went away for a few days.”

“You are right. I did not do my due diligence before I made that emotional statement, and I said things about the shooter that were incorrect.

“I assumed, like most shooters, they followed a standard MO and had standard, you know, feelings of… you know, NRA-loving kind of gun people,” O’Donnell added.

“Anyway, the truth is I messed up, and when you mess up, you fess up. I’m sorry. This is my apology video and I hope it’s enough.”
