Defending Freedom And Democracy Sure Requires An Awful Lot Of Censorship

Kremlin-backed media outlets have been banned throughout the European Union, both on television and on apps and online platforms. RT has lost its Sky TV slot in the UK, where the outlet is also blocked on YouTube. Australian TV providers SBS and Foxtel have dropped RT, and the federal government is putting pressure on social media platforms to block Russian media in Australia.

In the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Latvia, speaking in support of the Russian invasion of Ukraine will get you years in prison.

Twitter, historically the last of the major online platforms to jump on any new internet censorship escalation, is now actively minimizing the number of people who see Russian media content, saying that it is “reducing the content’s visibility” and “taking steps to significantly reduce the circulation of this content on Twitter”. This censorship-by-algorithm tactic is exactly what I speculated might emerge after former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey resigned back in November, due to previous comments supportive of that practice by his successor Parag Agrawal.

Twitter is also placing warnings labels on all Russia-backed media and delivering a pop-up message informing you that you are committing wrongthink if you try to share or even ‘like’ a post linking to such outlets on the platform. It has also placed the label “Russia state-affiliated media” on every tweet made by the personal accounts of employees of those platforms, baselessly giving the impression that the dissident opinions tweeted by those accounts are paid Kremlin content and not simply their own legitimate perspectives. Some are complaining that this new label has led to online harassment amid the post-9/11-like anti-Russia hysteria that’s currently turning western brains into clam chowder.

Retired FBI Agent Suggests Brian Laundrie May Have Had Help in ‘Suicide’

Speaking to RadarOnline, Coffinfaffer noted the autopsy report revealed that Laundrie shot himself in the left side of his head. Coffinfaffer expressed that the details of Laundrie’s death are very unusual as he “was right hand dominant.”

Coffinfaffer added: “That was bothersome. Because it does not fit with a right-handed person committing suicide with their off hand.”

“Laundrie could have been ambidextrous,” she speculated, “or he [may have] used his left hand because he was holding something like a picture in his right hand.”

In noting the rarity of a right-handed person shooting themselves in the left side of the head, Coffinfaffer intimated the probability that another person was present when Laundrie died.

Illinois Bill Would Make Drunk Sex Illegal

A proposed bill in Illinois would make it illegal to have sex while intoxicated, classifying such an act as a person being “unable to give knowing consent.”

The ill-conceived bill was introduced in the Illinois House of Representatives at the end of January by state Rep. Mark Walker, a Democrat, and has since gained nine co-sponsors, including Republican Rep. Chris Bos. The text of the bill would amend the Criminal Code of 2012 to update the Sex Offenses Article of the Code to include a new definition for “unable to give knowing consent” that “includes when the victim is intoxicated, but the accused did not provide or administer the intoxicating substance.”

This means that someone who willingly drinks alcohol but then has sex with someone, possibly due to lowered inhibitions, can automatically claim to be a rape victim.

Defense attorney Scott Greenfield lamented the bill on Twitter, calling it “a nightmare.”

“Intoxication, rather than incapacitation, would make sex a crime for lack of consent, even if both are drunk. Whoever goes to the police first wins,” Greenfield tweeted. “This will be a nightmare.”

Which Dystopian Story Does 2022 Resemble the Most?

Imagine waking up one day unable to access your bank account because of your political beliefs. Imagine faking your facial expression whenever people were around to avoid committing “facecrime.” Imagine if the economy ground to a halt like a train that ran out of fuel. Does it sound far off?

It may sound like paranoid hyperbole to say we are living in a dystopia. But the core of valuable dystopian fiction is exploring what elements of our society have effects that would, if taken to the extreme, destroy our freedom and go against human dignity.

My Out of Frame colleagues have analyzed the meaning and relevance of a variety of dystopian fiction: Demolition Man, The Hunger Games, Arcane, The Matrix, The Handmaid’s Tale, Brave New World, V for Vendetta. But what dystopia is most relevant right now? Here are three contenders (excluding examples that bear similarity purely due to the presence of a pandemic).

Famous Globalists & Occultists Come Out in Defense of Ukraine, Turn Internet Toward Putin

Well-known globalists and occultists like high priestess Marina Abramovic are endorsing Ukraine in its conflict with Russia, prompting some on social media to consider rooting for Vladimir Putin instead.

Abramovic, a Democrat known for her occult antics like Spirit Cooking ceremonies, denounced Russian President Vladimir Putin and called for social media to rally to Ukraine’s side of the conflict.

“An attack to Ukraine is to attack all of us,” Abramovic said in a video circulating Twitter. “It’s an attack to humanity and has to be stopped.”

Abramovic’s dark legacy is so repugnant that many people commented that while they otherwise would not support Russia – framed as the aggressor in this conflict – her endorsement of Ukraine is making them reconsider.
