Iowa Landowners Fight Seizure of Private Property for a Pipeline

A privately owned company is proposing a pipeline across five states. While some of the state governments appear to be on board, the project is facing backlash from a large and formidable population: property owners.

The pipeline, known as Summit Carbon Solutions, would span 2,500 miles and transport carbon dioxide (CO2) captured at 57 ethanol plants in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, and the Dakotas to a permanent underground storage site in North Dakota. Construction of the $9 billion pipeline is expected to begin this year, with operations kicking off in 2026.

In June 2024, the project received regulatory approval from the Iowa Utilities Commission, despite landowner protests.

Julie Glade and her husband, Paul, are Iowans who oppose the project because of its use of eminent domain. Their property aligns with the proposed route, and in 2022 the couple was visited by a land agent. “The guy who came to our door wanted us to sit down and sign it without reading it,” Glade tells Reason. “They swooped in and tried to contact as many people as possible right away before the people knew what the consequences were. It’s very unethical.”

Several other landowners in the state share the Glades’ worries. During a hearing conducted by the Iowa Utility Commission, landowner Joan Gaul testified against the pipeline, which she said would cross a large portion of her farmland.

Gaul said Summit Carbon Solutions mailed two easements, which would give the pipeline a legal right to her land, to her without notice.

“This letter came telling us about taking our land using eminent domain. It was a difficult pill to swallow,” she said. Gaul said she didn’t accept the easements and has indicated that she will continue to fight the project.

The Glades visit the Iowa Capitol nearly every week to voice their opposition to the pipeline. They are joined by what the couple calls a diverse coalition united by their concern for the basic constitutional right to land ownership.

“We have MAGA Republicans and we have lefties. We put our differences aside and we work together,” she says.

Woke reporter denies there are riots and looting in LA while chaos unfolds behind him

A local TV reporter in Los Angeles questioned whether the city’s violent unrest qualified as rioting – even as a fire burned behind him live on the air.

ABC7 reporter Tim Caputo insisted that the ‘vast majority’ of protestors involved in the demonstrations were ‘people taking videos [and] people waving flags’ during his one-the-ground report.

He made the remarks as black smoke billowed into the air behind him and a loud explosion could be heard in the distance.

During the segment, ABC7 anchor Jory Rand asked whether those responsible for torching five vehicles were ‘a group that splintered off,’ ‘mak[ing] it look like it’s a lot worse than the situation actually playing out on the ground.’

‘That’s the quintessential question when you have rallies, demonstrations, riots, if you will,’ Caputo replied.

‘I wouldn’t go as far to call it that. I know president Trump had tweeted about riots and looting – I don’t know that I would characterize it that way.’

As the broadcast showed aerial images of cars on fire, Caputo directed his cameraman away from rising smoke.

‘From what we’ve seen… the vast majority are people taking videos, people waving flags, people walking around, people wanting to be part of the cause, wanting to have their voices heard, and wanting to show the power of numbers and the power of force,’ the reporter said.

Citizens Call For ICE to Arrest Democrat Minnesota State Rep. After She Admits to Being an Illegal Alien in Shocking House Floor Speech

A Democrat Minnesota State Rep. on Monday admitted to being an illegal alien on the Minnesota house floor.

“My father, as the one processing the paperwork, put my grandmother down as his mother and so I am illegal in this country. My parents are illegal here in this country,” Democrat state Rep. Kaohly Vang Her said.

According to Rep. Kaohly Van Her’s website, her family came to the US as refugees from Laos.

“My name is Kaohly Vang Her. Born in Laos, my family came to the United States as refugees when I was four years old. I grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin, a paper town where my father worked at the local paper factory and my mother as a teacher’s aide. As our family expanded, my parents worked multiple jobs to make ends meet. There were periods of my life where my family struggled financially but my parents never gave up on the dream of what America could provide,” Vang Her says on her website.

Vang Her made the remarks during a hearing on a bill for modifying MinnesotaCare coverage eligibility to include illegal aliens.

Citizens called for ICE to arrest Vang Her.

Mexico Provides Legal Aid to Illegal Immigrants Arrested by ICE in Los Angeles

Mexico’s president is providing legal aid to the Mexican illegal migrants in Los Angeles who were recently arrested by ICE workplace operations.

The aid for detained illegal Mexican migrants is being provided via Mexico’s little-known network of consulates in many American cities. So far, there are no reports that Mexico is aiding any Mexicans arrested for rioting.

“Foreign Minister Juan Ramon de la Fuente said at least 42 Mexicans were being held after the controversial Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids in Los Angeles,” according to the German media outlet Deutsche Welle. “He added that the vast majority of Mexicans detained were working when they were arrested.”

The pro-migration New York Times admitted:

Mexico’s foreign minister, Juan Ramón de la Fuente, said his country’s consular network in the United States had been providing legal advice to the 37 men and five Mexican nationals who have been detained in California. Four have already been deported to Mexico, he said, either because they had a removal order or because they had volunteered to return.

President Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico spoke out on Monday in defense of 42 Mexican nationals who have been arrested in Los Angeles. “We cannot intervene in the politics of the United States,” she said, making a “respectful but firm call” to U.S. authorities to respect the rule of law and the human rights of detainees. She also urged the Mexican community to act peacefully. “Burning patrol cars seems more an act of provocation than of resistance,” she said.

Mexico’s government provides a list of phone numbers for the 49 consulates in the U.S. For example, Mexicans in Washington state are invited to use consulates in Seattle or nearby Portland, Oregon. The consulates allow the government to keep Mexican migrants emotionally and economically tied to their home country.

Leaders of ‘orgasmic meditation’ women’s wellness company OneTaste convicted in forced labor trial

The leaders of a sex-focused women’s wellness company that promoted “orgasmic meditation” have been convicted of federal forced labor charges.

A Brooklyn jury on Monday found Nicole Daedone, founder of OneTaste Inc., and Rachel Cherwitz, the California-based company’s former sales director, guilty after deliberating for less than two days following a five-week trial. The two each face up to 20 years in prison when sentenced later.

Prosecutors had argued the two women ran a yearslong scheme that groomed adherents – many of them victims of sexual trauma – to do their bidding.

They said Daedone, 57, of New York, and Cherwitz, 44, of California, used economic, sexual and psychological abuse, intimidation and indoctrination to force OneTaste members into sexual acts they found uncomfortable or repulsive, such as having sex with prospective investors or clients.

The two told followers the questionable acts were necessary in order to obtain “freedom” and “enlightenment” and demonstrate their commitment to the organization’s principles.

Prosecutors said OneTaste leaders also didn’t pay promised earnings to the members-turned-workers and even forced some of them to take out new credit cards to continue taking the company’s courses.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Nina Gupta, in her closing statement last week, said the defendants “built a business on the backs” of victims who “gave everything” to them, including “their money, their time, their bodies, their dignity, and ultimately their sanity.”

“The jury’s verdict has unmasked Daedone and Cherwitz for who they truly are: grifters who preyed on vulnerable victims by making empty promises of sexual empowerment and wellness only to manipulate them into performing labor and services for the defendants’ benefit,” said Joseph Nocella, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York.

Thanks to Kamala’s promotion of the bail fund, George Howard, an alleged domestic abuser, was released from jail on a $1,500 bond that was paid by the organization Kamala was touting. Two weeks later, Howard was involved in a road rage incident where he was arrested and charged with the murder of a 38-year-old man. He would have still been in jail had it not been for Kamala Harris trying to publicly flaunt her support for the BLM rioters by asking people to bail them out of jail. This serious issue repeatedly surfaced during Kamala’s failed 2024 presidential campaign.

Mexican Border State Demands Investigation of SpaceX Due to Beach Pollution

Officials in the Mexican border state of Tamaulipas have announced that they will be requesting a federal investigation into SpaceX for polluting Mexican beaches after pieces of the company’s rockets have washed ashore in recent days.

Karina Lizeth Saldivar, the head of the Tamaulipas Secretariat for Urban Development and Environment, recently announced that they would be requesting that federal authorities in Mexico investigate the damages and potential damages that rocket fragments could cause.

According to Saldivar, the rocket pieces could pose a potential danger to locals and claimed that her agency would request a formal investigation by Mexican federal environmental agencies. It remains unclear if Mexico’s government could do anything about the issue.

Just last week, the U.S. Supreme Court shot down a lawsuit against U.S. gun manufacturers filed by Mexico’s government, Breitbart Texas reported. Just one day after the ruling, Mexico’s President, Claudia Sheinbaum, claimed that her government would be pursuing other lawsuits in an attempt to place the blame for the country’s raging cartel violence on the United States instead of the country’s widespread corruption.

‘Furious’ Pelosi Drops F-Bomb in Response to Trump Deploying National Guard to Los Angeles: Report

Speaker Emerita Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is ‘furious’ over President Donald Trump deploying National Guard troops to Los Angeles in response to out of control illegal immigration riots.

Pelosi is still sore over the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot when she was Speaker and failed to protect the Capitol with sufficient police and D.C. National Guard troops, even though President Trump had offered 10,000 troops.

Nancy Pelosi is furious about Donald Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard to the Los Angeles protests and not during the Capitol riots, the California lawmaker exclusively told What A Day.

Demonstrations roiled part of downtown Los Angeles and a working-class suburb over the weekend, sparked by a trio of ICE raids on workplaces. Now, President Donald Trump is saying that Los Angeles would’ve been “completely obliterated” had he not sent in the National Guard. (That’s a lie: Los Angeles is massive, and the protests didn’t affect most residents.)

What’s also bothering Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), however, is the fact that Trump didn’t send the National Guard to the Capitol during the January 6 riots: “It’s overwhelming because [the insurrectionists] want to put a bullet in my F-word head and they were going to hang the vice president of the United States — and this guy is not sending in the National Guard, and then lying about it to the public,” she told What A Day. “I’m very concerned about the hypocrisy.”

…Trump’s actions have “inflamed the conditions on the ground,” Pelosi added. “I don’t think there’s any mystery to the fact that the president is not acting in the constitutional way, in so many other respects, not just this.”

Maui police chief named in Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs lawsuit as alleged co-conspirator

Maui Police Chief John Pelletier is fiercely denying allegations that he was involved in a cover-up linked to Sean “Diddy” Combs.

In a nearly 90-page civil lawsuit filed by Ashley Parham and two unnamed individuals, Pelletier is accused of being hired as security for Combs in 2018.

The suit claims that Pelletier, who at the time was a Las Vegas police captain, posed as a sheriff deputy in California and responded to an alleged gang rape involving Combs.

The alleged victim claims that Pelletier instructed her to go home and offered no help or medical care.

The woman claims Pelletier gave an envelope to a neighbor, which she believed to be full of cash.

She claims Pelletier later took her and another plaintiff at gunpoint to his home, restrained them, refused to let them call an attorney, and made various moves to cover up the kidnapping.

In a statement, Maui County Mayor Richard Bissen requested that the Maui County Police Commission put Pelletier on administrative leave while the investigation remains ongoing.

The statement reads as follows:

“On March 7, 2025, and was filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California in the case of Ashley Parham v. Sean Combs (Case No. 3:24-cv-07191-RFL).

This amendment includes multiple new defendants, one of whom is Maui Police Chief John Pelletier.

The original complaint, filed on October 15, 2024, did not name Chief Pelletier.

While the allegations in the amended complaint remain unproven, they are serious in nature and involve claims of alleged criminal conduct.

As with any such legal matter, due process must be observed, but the existence of these allegations alone presents concerns regarding public trust and the effective functioning of the department.

There is precedent within the County of Maui government for placing appointed officials on leave while allegations against them are investigated.

This approach does not constitute a presumption of guilt but ensures that the individual in question is not in a position that may compromise the integrity of the office while the matter is under review.

The County of Maui Charter requires appointed officers to uphold the highest ethical standards to maintain public confidence in local government.

Given the gravity of the allegations, I recommend that the Maui Police Commission place Chief Pelletier on administrative leave pending further investigation.

Additionally, I urge the Commission to conduct its own independent review rather than waiting for the resolution of the federal case.

Iran Warns They’ll Strike Israel’s Nuclear Sites If Their Own Are Attacked

An intelligence trove that Iran claimed it had obtained “would enable the fighters of Islam to immediately strike (Israel’s) hidden nuclear facilities in response to any possible attack by the Zionist regime on Iran’s nuclear facilities,” the Supreme National Security Council said in a statement.

It also said Iran would respond in a “precisely proportional” manner to any Israeli attack on its military or economic infrastructure.

On June 7, state media reported that Tehran had obtained a trove of “strategic and sensitive” Israeli intelligence in a covert operation, including files related to Israel’s undeclared nuclear facilities and defence plans.

Iran’s Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib later said that the seized documents included information related to Western countries including the United States, and “will be published soon”.

On June 9, the head of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Hossein Salami, said the intelligence would make “the impact of Iranian missiles more precise” in case of a confrontation.
