Boeing given $2.7 billion in contracts for Patriot missile seekers

Defense behemoth Boeing announced on Tuesday that it had been given about $2.7 billion in multiyear contracts to produce more than 3,000 Patriot Advanced Capability‑3 (PAC‑3) seekers through 2030.

Boeing said the demand for PAC‑3 interceptors has spiked in light of the conflicts and tensions in Ukraine, the Middle East and the Indo-Pacific.

Boeing is set to deliver over 3,000 seekers, a key component for the Patriot interceptor missiles, at a rate of up to 750 units a year, according to the agreements.

The Patriot systems have been among the key tools in Ukraine’s efforts to defend against Russia’s missile and drone attacks over the past three years, and are also a key part of Taiwan’s preparations for a potential Chinese attack.

That demand has ramped up pressure on U.S. manufacturers to ensure that U.S. stockpiles aren’t depleted.

Boeing said it would work “closely” with the U.S. Army and Lockheed Martin to boost production and hit the new target for the interceptor.

“Our team has never been better positioned to answer the nation’s call for greater air and missile defense,” Jim Bryan, the executive director of Boeing Integrated Air & Missile Defense, said in a statement.

“These multiyear awards recognize the progress we’ve made and will allow us to meet growing global demand for the PAC‑3 seeker,” Bryan added.

In early September, the Army awarded Lockheed Martin a $9.8 billion contract to produce PAC-3 MSE interceptors and associated hardware.

Mitt Romney Breaks His Silence on His Sister-In-Law’s Sudden Death as Potentially Important New Details Emerge

Former Senator and two-time Presidential candidate Mitt Romney is speaking out after his sister-in-law’s sudden death as the story continues to develop.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Romney’s sister-in-law, Carrie Elizabeth Romney, was found dead near a parking garage in Valencia, California.

Authorities responded to a call on Friday night on reports of a dead woman near a parking garage.

The woman, later identified as Carrie Romney, either jumped or fell off a five-story structure near the Valencia Town Center mall. The 64-year-old died on scene.

“We don’t know if it was suicide or accidental. There is not enough information to go by yet on what the coroner has given us so far.” LA County Sheriff’s spokesman Lieutenant Daniel Vizcarra told the Daily Mail.

Authorities do not suspect foul play was involved in the incident, however.

Mitt Romney responded to the incident by expressing his sorrow for what happened.

“Our family is heartbroken by the loss of Carrie, who brought warmth and love to all our lives. We ask for privacy during this difficult time,” he said.

Now, the Daily Mail has exclusively revealed a few critical new details on Carrie Romney that may have contributed to her death.

On May 25, this year, Mitt’s brother, George Scott Romney, who goes by his middle name, separated from Carrie. He then filed for divorce on June 10 after just over eight years of marriage.

Scott claimed “irreconcilable differences” in the divorce filing and said that the majority of the couple’s assets were acquired separately, before their marriage, according to the records obtained by the Daily Mail.

Scott also rejected Carrie’s request for spousal support. She later tried to restore her maiden name, Carrie Elizabeth Dimas.

Scott and Carrie got married on November 26, 2016. They did not have children together.

The 84-year-old Scott Romney, a lawyer and politician, is the father of former RNC chairman Ronna McDaniel through his first marriage.

In September 2023, Mitt Romney announced he would not seek reelection to the US Senate.

“At the end of another term, I’d be in my mid-80s,” Romney, who was 76 at the time, said. “Frankly, it’s time for a new generation of leaders.

“They’re the ones that need to make the decisions that will shape the world they will be living in.”

‘I love Hitler’: Leaked messages expose Young Republicans’ racist chat

Leaders of Young Republican groups throughout the country worried what would happen if their Telegram chat ever got leaked, but they kept typing anyway.

They referred to Black people as monkeys and “the watermelon people” and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies and driving them to suicide and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery.

William Hendrix, the Kansas Young Republicans’ vice chair, used the words “n–ga” and “n–guh,” variations of a racial slur, more than a dozen times in the chat. Bobby Walker, the vice chair of the New York State Young Republicans at the time, referred to rape as “epic.” Peter Giunta, who at the time was chair of the same organization, wrote in a message sent in June that “everyone that votes no is going to the gas chamber.”

Giunta was referring to an upcoming vote on whether he should become chair of the Young Republican National Federation, the GOP’s 15,000-member political organization for Republicans between 18 and 40 years old.

“Im going to create some of the greatest physiological torture methods known to man. We only want true believers,” he continued.

Rumble is Restored in France After Court Rejects Government’s Censorship Demand

Rumble, the video-sharing and cloud services platform, has reopened access to its site for users in France following a decisive legal development.

A court ruled that a French official’s demand for content removal, delivered via email, held no legal authority.

In response, Rumble has restored full access to its platform across the country.

The dispute dates back to 2022, when a French government representative attempted to pressure the platform into censoring certain videos.

Rather than complying with the demand to erase content under threat of legal consequences, Rumble took the bold step of withdrawing service from France entirely.

That stand against political interference has now been vindicated by the court’s finding that the email in question could not be treated as an enforceable action.

When Challenged On Ukraine, Hillary Clinton Lashes Out

A few days ago, former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton replied to my question about Ukraine at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). She and John Sullivan, who served as Ambassador to Russia under both Presidents Trump and Biden, revealed themselves to be either liars or so ignorant of reasons for the U.S. Ukraine war as to be utter fools. [The full video can be found here].

This was a fly-on-the-wall event where you get to hear the delusions of the people who shape US foreign policy. The CFR meeting was hosted by the Dean of the Columbia School of International and Public Affairs, Keren Yarhi-Milo, who talked about the biases commonly found among policymakers and the intelligence community when they try to understand the intentions of US adversaries. She spoke about mirror imaging, which is what happens when you think that the adversary thinks in exactly the same way that you do; she spoke about the inability to empathize, she spoke about other biases that lead us to misunderstand and misperceive the intentions of our adversaries. She said it happens in the United States, repeatedly. All important.

But then Keren Yarhi-Milo veered into arm-chair psychology, telling the audience that in her view, ”[if] you want to understand the Ukraine, the decision to invade Ukraine, what’s driving this, you have to really understand Putin’s psychology, and the reference point, and how it’s all about, in his mind, regaining the Soviet empire.” So she knows what is in Putin’s mind, though he has never said that!

At the event, Ambassador John Sullivan, who also served as Deputy Secretary of State under Trump, echoed Yarhi-Milo, asserting that “you have to really understand Putin’s psychology” when evaluating his policy in Ukraine. He said, “I once had a conversation with my then-boss Secretary Blinken. And we were talking about what Putin is like. And, you know, he’s often compared to a gangster. And I didn’t want to make an ethnic reference, or if I made one it would be one that would be from my own tribe. So I’m from South Boston. And I started talking about Whitey Bulger.”

Bulger was a mafioso, murderer and a crook. Is that how Sullivan really feels about the Boston Irish?

“And I mean, you’ve got to understand, you can’t understand Putin unless you really understand where he’s from, what he’s about. He’s a tough kid from Leningrad, right? And not understanding who—his sense of grievance, his sense of loss.” He adds: “He is committed to the proposition that the great geopolitical catastrophe of the twentieth century was the demise of the Soviet Union. …He doesn’t lament the demise of Soviet communism. He famously says, if you’re not nostalgic for how we lived in Soviet days you don’t have a heart, but if you want to return to Soviet communism you don’t have a brain. I mean, it’s hard to be the richest person in the world with a billion-dollar palace in Sochi.”

So, Putin is like the Bulgar of the American politics, not Russia?

In fact, there is no evidence that Putin is richest person in the world (that seems to be Elon Musk) and there is also no evidence of this palace. But who cares about evidence! And even his “you don’t have a brain” quote contradicts what Putin said! But who cares!

For once, Clinton got closer to the truth when she said, “… it’s been our experience, and certainly the research shows, that you introduce, through this over-personalization, volatility. And really, the volatility becomes a greater driver than your credibility, your ability to really read this person, to manage this person, to try to shape the events.” But she didn’t challenge Yarhi-Milo or Sullivan on Putin. And she certainly didn’t like me raising the point when I asked her question:

My name is Lucy Komisar. I’m a journalist.

I was very impressed with the Dean’s analysis of how one should look with empathy and look at the other side. And then I saw in the discussion of Russia absolutely the opposite. I didn’t hear anybody talk about Kissinger and Kennan talking about not moving NATO one inch to the east, the 2014 American-sponsored coup that threw out an elected Ukraine head of government because he was too pro-Russian, the new government bombing the Russian speakers for eight years.”

David Westin of Bloomberg News, serving as moderator, then broke in:

There’s a question here, right? I’m sorry, ma’am, is there a question in here? Is there a question? This is a speech. I’m sorry.

[Here I would note that my comment was way shorter than others were allowed to make without interruption. But then again, those didn’t challenge the speaker.]

After the unasked for interruption, I continued:

Let me finish. That the Soviet Union, anybody that wanted it—that talked about it being collapsed, that it was a tragedy, but anybody that wanted to have it come back had no brain. Why did you not talk about any of these facts? And instead of that do a lot of armchair psychologizing about Putin and his motives?.

Enter Hillary.

As Ohio’s Intoxicating Hemp Product Ban Takes Effect, Business Owners Brace For Impact

Ohioans who sell intoxicating hemp products are worried what the 90-day ban that goes into effect on Tuesday will mean for their businesses and customers.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) recently announced a 90-day executive order that bans the sale of intoxicating hemp products that starts October 14.

Intoxicating hemp products are items that contain THC that are sold anywhere other than licensed marijuana dispensaries including gas stations, smoke shops and CBD stores, among others.

Todd Hicks opened his new CBD store in Columbus days before DeWine announced the ban.

“It’s been heartbreaking,” he said. “Honestly, it’s been totally heartbreaking. I don’t know which direction to go.”

Hicks said he will likely have to close his new shop and let go of his three employees.

“I can’t afford them,” he said. “Well, there’s nothing for them to do, right? They can’t sell the product. There’s no one going to be answering the door or coming to the door to actually buy the product. So I don’t need them.”

Children getting ahold of intoxicating hemp products is a parental issue, Hicks said.

“They’re digging it out of their parents’ purse or something like that,” he said. “It’s not a sale issue.”

Mark Fashian, president of hemp product wholesaler Midwest Analytical Solutions in Delaware, Ohio, said the ban will put him out of business. He works with more than 500 stores around Ohio that sell intoxicating hemp products.

“We typically will sell to smoke shops or gas stations or convenience stores or drive-thrus, and every one of those have a mechanism for carding anyone,” Fashian said. “There is definitely carding happening all over the place.”

He said those shops are worried about how the ban will impact them.

“They’re just worried,” Fashian said. “They don’t know what to do. They don’t know what to do with their products.”

Jim Higdon, co-founder of Cornbread Hemp in Kentucky, which sells its products in more than 300 Ohio retail stores, said the intoxicating hemp ban has caused lots of confusion.

“Our retailer and distributor partners are very unhappy,” he said. “It’s really frustrating to watch the Republican Party be an anti-business party… To see the governor and members of the legislature be anti-business on this front is very concerning when other states have been able to figure this out.”

Kim Bryant, a salesperson at Your CBD Store Marion, said the average age of their customer is 50 years old.

“They want gummies for pain and gummies for sleep,” she said. “People want that instead of opioids or prescription drugs… The older people, they have no desire to go to a medical marijuana or recreational marijuana facility.”

Newsom Vetoes California Bill To Let Marijuana Businesses Deliver Products Directly To Patients

The governor of California has vetoed a bill that would have allowed certain marijuana microbusinesses to ship medical cannabis products directly to patients via common carriers like FedEx and UPS, stating that the proposal “would be burdensome and overly complex to administer.”

After advancing through the legislature last month, the measure from Assemblymember Patrick Ahrens (D) was rejected by Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) on Saturday.

“This bill would authorize a limited number of cannabis microbusinesses to ship certain medicinal cannabis products directly to patients using a common carrier,” the governor said in a veto message.

An analysis of the legislation says supporters argue that “a small population of patients in California requires specific medicinal products that retailers do not stock, as only a handful of individuals seek them, and these products are perishable.”

“This bill is intended to create flexibility for medical patients and caregivers for whom it is a hardship to travel to purchase medicinal cannabis products. However, prior amendments narrowed the scope of the bill by prohibiting the shipment of medicinal cannabis goods to patients who live within 60 miles of a cannabis retailer or delivery option. It is unclear how many patients currently stand to benefit from this bill.”

The bill sponsor, Ahrens, said in the analysis that “the availability of medical cannabis products has declined significantly due to regulatory burdens, high taxation, and the prioritization of adult-use recreational products over medicinal formulations.”

“As a result, many patients—particularly those with intractable epilepsy, advanced cancers, multiple sclerosis, and neurodegenerative disorders—are struggling to obtain appropriate and effective medical cannabis products,” he said. “California’s vast geography further exacerbates this issue, as many seriously ill patients live in areas where specialized medical cannabis products are not available locally and these patients are not able to travel long distances to dispensaries that carry the products they need.”

Study: Cannabidiol Alters Gene Expression Linked to Immune Response and Cell Death in Leukemia Cells

The study focused on K-562S cells, an imatinib-sensitive leukemia line, which were treated with CBD at an IC50 concentration of 17.69 μM for four and twelve hours. RNA sequencing revealed over 3,400 differentially expressed genes at both time points. Notably, CBD influenced oxidative stress pathways regulated by metallothionein genes (MT1, MT2, SLC30A2) and activated p53-dependent apoptotic markers such as TP53TG3, BBC3, CHAC1, DDIT4, NOXA1, and DAPK2.

Beyond apoptosis, CBD exposure was linked to altered immune signaling, including type I interferon activity, PI3K-Akt-mTOR regulation, and Toll-like receptor signaling—all central to leukemia progression. The compound also appeared to impact lipid metabolism and mitochondrial stability, underscoring its broad influence on cancer-related cellular processes.

The authors conclude that CBD induces sweeping transcriptional and signaling changes that could have therapeutic implications for blood cancers. While additional preclinical and clinical studies are needed, the research lays groundwork for exploring CBD as a potential precision therapy in hematological malignancies.

Sad New York Times Keeps Beating What’s Left of the J6 Dead Horse

I would say, “Pity the poor Democrats,” but they have spent far too many years being awful to warrant any consideration for whatever feelings their cold, leftist hearts might have.

At the moment, the Dems are in political exile in Washington, D.C. Not by much, but it’s exile nonetheless. As we have discussed many times, they aren’t making much of a case to the American people to be brought out of it. Who knows? Maybe their “raining f-bombs on the Republicans” strategy will pan out. I remain skeptical about that.

They’re also struggling with the government shutdown. The public knows that it’s Chuck Schumer’s Senate Democrats who are mucking up the works.

Now, the man who they have been calling Literally Hitler for the better part of a decade just brokered a peace deal that brought Israeli hostages home after two years in torturous Hamas captivity. Whatever is a struggling opposition party to do?

Why, keep leg-humping the ghost of J6, of course.

Former theater critic and current Opinion section village idiot Frank Bruni is on it for The New York Times:

I guess Attorney General Pam Bondi felt that actually flipping Democratic senators the bird would be too much, so she let her sour expression and clipped expectorations do the equivalent when she testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee last week. What a repellent snit, staged primarily for President Trump, who relishes any surrogate who can sulk, scold and rage as contemptuously as he does. He doesn’t want good-will ambassadors. He wants ill-will amplifiers. Bondi got the memo and spread the bile.

But I found the behavior of Republican senators at the hearing even more disturbing, because several of them used their remarks to travel back to Jan. 6, 2021, and demand that Democrats — yes, Democrats — answer for their conduct in relation to it.

It’s de rigueur for NYT Opinion writers to begin each piece with some weeping and gnashing of teeth, and Bruni never fails to fulfill his emo duties. It’s beyond rich that a writer for the news outlet that’s been Hostility Central when it comes to the treatment of Republicans is complaining about perceived incivility on Capitol Hill. These are the same people who have been cheering on the aforementioned “f-bombs” strategy that Congressional Dems have been employing.

There’s a reason that Joe Biden’s autopen issued preemptive pardons to those involved in the United States House Soviet Select Committee on J6 Daddy Issues: They knew that what they did was election interference and didn’t want any further scrutiny if they fell out of power.

Now that President Trump is riding high and receiving praise from the likes of The Washington Post Editorial Board, the emotionally disturbed lefties at the NYT are like friendless, bratty kids at their own birthday parties, standing alone in the backyard while the clown is shaking his head in pity.

Meet The Radical Left Candidate Running for School Board in Ohio

Across America, parents are waking up to how deeply politics has infiltrated K–12 education.

That’s why YouthVote exists—to expose the growing number of local candidates who prioritize ideology over education.

YouthVote’s mission is simple but urgent: fix America’s schools by informing voters, holding school boards accountable, and empowering parents to protect their children’s education.

With dozens of investigations and reports nationwide on radical candidates, YouthVote continues to shed light on individuals whose values threaten to undermine classrooms and communities.

One of those individuals is Rachel Gilman, a candidate for the Indian Creek Local School District Board in Ohio.

A quick look at Gilman’s social media reveals everything parents need to know.

Her posts promote Pride-themed books for children and call for LGBTQ propaganda to be embedded in school libraries—the same kinds of materials parents across the country have objected to for promoting sexualized and ideological content to minors.

She has openly supported efforts to include gender ideology in school reading lists, showing little regard for parental consent or local community standards.

Even more disturbing are her radical pro-abortion posts.

Gilman has shared graphic images of naked pregnant women smeared with blood to form the American flag, complete with clothes hangers replacing the stars—a grotesque and politicized display meant to shock, not educate.

These are not the actions of a responsible leader or someone focused on improving student achievement. They reflect an agenda rooted in cultural activism, not classroom excellence.

And yet, this is the person asking to oversee your children’s education. Parents in Indian Creek should understand exactly what’s at stake.

School boards are supposed to safeguard educational quality, transparency, and family values — not serve as platforms for social engineering.
