Federal Agents Arrest Karen Bass-Linked “Peace Ambassador” — Convicted Murderer and Active 18th Street Gang Member Was Being Paid with Taxpayer Dollars Through NGO Program

Federal law enforcement just exposed another jaw-dropping failure of Los Angeles’ radical “reimagine public safety” experiment under Mayor Karen Bass.

Michael Angel Alvarez, 41, aka “Diablo,” a convicted first-degree murderer and alleged active 18th Street gang member, was arrested by federal agents after being paid over $58,000 last year by a city-contracted nonprofit to serve as a so-called “Peace Ambassador.”

The arrest went down on May 18 near MacArthur Park. LAPD officers responding to a stolen vehicle call detained Alvarez. He reportedly told them he worked for Mayor Karen Bass’s Crisis Response Team (“CRT”).

Take a look at the absolute insanity of this operation, according to the DOJ:

  • The Suspect: A hardened gangster convicted of first-degree murder in 2002. He was sentenced to 50 years to life but was cut loose early by California’s broken justice system. Federal authorities state he is still an active 18th Street gang member who was recently caught on jailhouse phone calls plotting to assault people who broke gang rules.
  • The Scam: Alvarez didn’t just sneak onto the payroll. He was funded through “Healing Urban Barrios” (HUB), a Lincoln Heights-based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that secured a lucrative contract with the city.
  • The Taxpayer Cost: Under the guise of a “Peace Ambassador program”—which the city website laughably describes as an initiative to “prevent violence before it starts”—the city of Los Angeles approved a staggering $450,000 from its general fund to flow into this NGO between 2024 and 2027.
  • The Payout: In 2025 alone, this taxpayer-funded NGO handed Alvarez $58,156 to patrol the streets as an unarmed “peacekeeper.”

Federal authorities noted that during the search of “Diablo’s” vehicle, they discovered top-tier, military-grade body armor plates in his trunk — marketed as the highest level of protection available on the civilian market.  Apparently, being a “Peace Ambassador” requires a lot of tactical gear when you are actively running with a cartel-linked street gang.

If convicted, Alvarez would face a statutory maximum sentence of five years in federal prison.

State of New York Hearing: Reparations for Slavery Only Form of ‘True Justice’

Black New Yorkers attending a state commission studying remedies for racism said they were due cash reparations for slavery and other past injustices.

The New York “State Community Commission on Reparations Remedies” hearing follows Gov. Kathy Hochul signing a bill in 2023 for a commission to study slavery in New York state and examine various forms of compensation.

“We need $800,000 for each foundational black American. That’s simple,” Aubrey Muhammud, one of the attendees, told Fox News Digital. “That’s — in New York — that’s about the cost of living that’ll get you a home or a small business or for you to recover from any financial duress.”

New York joins several other Democratic run states and local municipalities looking to issue reparations in some form.

The Chicago suburb of Evanston, Illinois went as far as paying $25,000 in cash to Black residents to address past racial housing discrimination, according to Fox’s coverage of the controversial issue Saturday.

San Francisco enacted legislation earlier this year establishing official reparations of $5 million to each eligible Black residents. However, facing a $1 billion city budget deficit, the measure contains no taxpayer-allocated funds or guaranteed cash payouts.

New York’s public hearing allowed for residents to relate their experiences to the commission, reportedly in an effort to examine past discriminatory policies and slavery in the United States.

“Certainly grateful that you all came up here today to enjoy and participate and lend your voice to this public hearing. Our theme today is truth before repair,” commissioner Seanelle Hawkins told the audience.

Who exactly would get payments is a matter of concern to some attendees.

Watch How a Hijab-Wearing AOC Is Treated by a Muslim Male Audience as She Tries Pandering to Them During Eid Celebration in New York City

A Muslim male crowd gave AOC a rude welcome as she attempted to pander to them at a prominent Muslim holiday celebration in New York City.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, AOC was seen wearing a hijab at an Eid Celebration in New York City, which was attended by Muslim men.

Addressing a crowd on Wednesday, AOC called on people to “renew our commitments to one another” so together they “can bring light into the darkness.”

Despite claiming to be a feminist who wants to dismantle the patriarchy, the hijab is widely seen as a symbol of female repression intended to prevent Islamic women from attracting the attention of men.

Despite AOC’s pandering, the Muslim audience was unmoved.

Instead of listening, the attendees ignored what she was saying and started speaking among themselves.

In addition, the background noise completely muffled her speech.

So much disrespect for AOC.

CDC expands Ebola screenings to New York’s JFK airport

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has expanded its passenger screening for Ebola to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.

The federal agency said the expansion of its around-the-clock Port Health Protection system went into effect at Kennedy airport Thursday night.

The CDC also said Kennedy previously conducted enhanced public health entry screening and has established operational procedures in place.

The enhanced screening” is also now underway at Washington Dulles International Airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the George Bush Intercontinental Airport, in Houston, for air passengers arriving from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, South Sudan and Uganda.

“Public health entry screening serves as one component of CDC’s layered public health approach, which also includes overseas exit screening, airline illness reporting, and post-arrival public health monitoring,” the CDC said in a post on X.

The State Department issued a travel advisory recently, instructing all U.S.-bound American citizens and lawful permanent residents who have been in the DRC, Uganda or South Sudan within 21 days of arrival in the U.S. to go through the “enhanced public health screening” carried out by the CDC and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The screenings come ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in the United States, Canada and Mexico next month. The first match will take place in Mexico City on June 11.

The United States has not seen an Ebola case so far, though one American tested positive for the virus while overseas and is being treated in Germany.

Social Media Users LIGHT UP James Talarico After Hearing the Woke Four-Word Term He Uses to Describe Women

Texas Democrat U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico managed to go viral for all the wrong reasons on Friday after a SuperPAC uncovered some old clips of him using a weird term to describe women.

Any normal person knows that there are two sexes: male and female. In addition, the terms men and women are used to describe those with male and female body parts.

Talarico, though, is anything but normal. It turns out he has a bizarre four-word term to describe the female race: neighbors with a uterus.

The Lone Star Liberty PAC, which supports Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, released two clips of Talarico saying exactly this.

“Every one of our neighbors with a uterus became the property of the state,” Talarico says to a church audience in the first clip.

“Our neighbors with a uterus need to be able to control their own bodies,” he says in the second clip.

X users quickly lit up Talarico for not being able to use the term woman to describe the female

3 Months of Trump’s Disastrous Iran War Has Cost US Consumers $60 Billion in Extra Energy Costs

Americans have made clear since President Donald Trump joined Israel in beginning an unprovoked war on Iran that they view the conflict-of-choice as damaging to their financial well-being—and that they blame the president for the higher cost of fuel since the war started in February.

On Friday, Moody’s Analytics put an exact number on the heightened financial anxiety families across the country have been feeling over the past three months as Iran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz has sent fuel prices soaring: $447.19.

That’s how much the average US household has had to additionally spend on fuel-related expenses since Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyanu launched their attack on February 28, Moody’s told CNBC.

Altogether, Americans have spent a total of nearly $60 billion on gas, airline fares, and other related costs as the strait, a key shipping route for oil, has remained effectively closed.

According to AAA, the average price of a gallon of regular gas stands at $4.39—up close to 50% since early March. Diesel now costs $5.52 per gallon, forcing consumers to pay $20 billion more in additional expenses on groceries and other goods.

“The economy isn’t just soft, it’s struggling,” Mark Zandi, Moody’s chief economist, said Thursday. “The Iran war needs to end, and the Strait of Hormuz needs to be reopened soon, or recession will become more likely than not.”

As CNBC reported Friday, “higher energy costs can force consumers to raid their savings and lean more on debt to cover expenses.”

Trump flatly said earlier this month that he doesn’t consider Americans’ financial situation “even a little bit” when it comes to the war on Iran, while National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett posited earlier this week that Americans are “spending more money” not because higher prices are forcing them to but because they’re “very, very optimistic about the state of the economy.” He also bragged recently that “credit card spending is through the roof”—a sign several observers took not as a positive omen for the economy but as a sign that families are being forced to take on debt to pay for gas and other essentials.

Zandi provided a reality check Friday.

“Unless the war ends soon, financially pressed consumers will have no option but to turn more cautious in their spending, threatening the already soft economy,” he told CNBC, warning that families could end up spending nearly $2,000 extra on fuel-related costs if the war continues reaches the one-year mark.

Mexico’s Congress Moves to Cancel Future Elections – If Ruling Party Loses

Mexico’s Congress is moving to amend the country’s constitution to ensure the ruling party remains in power. The move comes at a time when the U.S. government has been exposing the close ties between Mexico’s ruling party, MORENA, and drug cartels while moving to arrest some of its top operators.

This week, Mexico’s congress moved to change the law to allow the government to cancel the 2030 elections if it claims there was foreign interference. The measure is hidden in obscure language and lacks specifics as to what could qualify as foreign interference, giving the government a wide range of reasons.

The issue faced strong resistance from legislators in opposing parties, who claimed it was just a way for the ruling party to stay in power. The move passed due to MORENA having majority control and is moving along the system.

The issue comes at a time of great tension between Mexico and the U.S. over a series of criminal indictments accusing top members of the MORENA party, including the governor of Sinaloa, of working with cartels in exchange for political power and money. Rather than working with the U.S. to arrest those officials, Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum has publicly defended him, claiming that the U.S. has provided no evidence of wrongdoing and that the move was political. The MORENA party has a long history of accusing the U.S. government of trying to influence its rule over Mexico, using the claim of national sovereignty to avoid going after cartel politicians.

The 667-pound clue spy agency missed in David Rush’s gold bar scandal: ‘Humiliation for the CIA’

The CIA should have known something was off the moment ex-officer David Rush demanded 667 pounds of gold bullion.

Instead of requesting diamonds or rare gems — the far lighter, more mobile currency the agency has long favored for clandestine work — Rush asked for heavy gold bars, a choice a former senior CIA official told The Post was an obvious red flag.

Now Rush is incarcerated in an Alexandria, Va., lockup and charged carrying out a massive theft – although it is the spy agency itself facing tough questions from lawmakers about how he was ever allowed to get this far.

The first clue is the gold itself.

“You tend to go in other directions because it’s lighter. Precious jewels are better. Diamonds are better,” former CIA Iran targets officer Reuel Marc Gerecht told The Post.

“People don’t realize how heavy money is. It was regularly a problem for large payments – particularly if you’re trying to do it clandestinely. You could just weigh yourself down with cash. Gold – you’d need mules,” he exclaimed.

The security breakdown allegedly allowed Rush, who had a top secret security clearance, to hoard in stages 303 gold bars valued at $40 million and weighing 667 pounds.

ELECTION SABOTAGE: Democrat Strategist Convinces Man with SAME NAME as Vulnerable Male GOP Senator to Run Against Him – Both Will Appear on Primary Ballot Together

One of the most vulnerable Republican senators is facing a stunning new threat to his political livelihood from a man with the same name as him after a Democrat strategist pulled off a dirty trick.

Fox News reported that campaign material metadata reveals that Amber Lee, a far-left Democrat consultant, authored a press release announcing a Alaska Senate bid for a “Dan Sullivan” who has nothing to do with incumbent Alaska GOP Senator Sullivan.

The Dan Sullivan whom Lee planted claims that he is running because Senator Sullivan “failed to put Alaska first.”

“For too long, Senator Sullivan has failed to put Alaska first,” Dan Sullivan, a Petersburg resident, said while announcing his candidacy. “When you care about a people and a place, you have a duty to make every sacrifice in your power to protect them.”

“That’s why I’m running.”

Fox News notes that Lee’s consulting firm, Amber Strategies, lists several leftist clients, including Alaska Women’s Ascent.

This group aims to “train women who are pro-choice, pro-LGBTQ rights, pro-union, anti-racist and pro-racial justice” to serve as candidates and volunteers.

The National Republican Senate Committee was rightfully livid over the dirty trick pulled by Democrats.

“Mary Peltola and Chuck Schumer know they can’t beat Senator Sullivan on his record, so they’re resorting to deceitful political maneuvers that attempt to trick Alaskans and buy a seat,” NRSC Committee Spokesperson Nick Puglia told Fox News.

Both Sullivans will appear in Alaska’s ridiculous open primary system, where the top four candidates advance to the general election. This means Alaska voters could be asked to pick TWICE between two people with the same name.

UM…There’s a new theory about the Dem race in Maine…

There’s a new theory about the Democrat race in Maine involving Graham Platner and I thought it was worth posting, considering the source.

There’s no way to know at this point if it will happen, but it’s definitely worth knowing because it is something Democrats like to do when they have a bad candidate (like Biden).

Here’s what Bill Shipley wrote a few minutes ago:

This is getting very curious. These influential voices are coming out on this point VERY LATE. The primary is June 9.

I do not think anything will happen in advance of the primary, and Platner is going to win with no real opponent still in the race.

BUT, under Maine law, if Platner were to drop out after winning the primary, he could be replaced by the Dems on the General Election ballot ONLY IF:

1. He drops out prior to the 2nd Monday in July, and
2. His replacement is named by the 4th Monday in July.

I think we are seeing the unfolding of a plan by the Dem. establishment OUTSIDE of Maine to begin a drumbeat for Platner to exit the race after the primary, and let the Party hand-pick a replacement for the General.

Pro-Tip — always read state law to figure out that plan that might be in the process of being hatched behind closed doors.
