Key Democratic Senate Candidate’s Campaign Descends Into ‘Complete Chaos’

Just hours before a key jungle primary decided the field for a critical Senate race the left hopes to flip, Democratic candidate Mary Peltola, a former state representative, fired numerous senior campaign staffers in what one local outlet described as a “Saturday night massacre.”

Peltola would win the all-party primary by a 48.1 percent to 42.7 percent margin over incumbent GOP Sen. Dan Sullivan on Tuesday, according to The Washington Post.

However, most of the remaining votes are likely to skew Sullivan’s way in November — including a candidate with the name Daniel J. Sullivan who ran as a Republican but was a Democratic op to draw votes away from the incumbent on the first ballot.

In addition, while polling of varying quality consistently showed Peltola ahead by anywhere between 2 to 7 percentage points in a general election matchup, a June 15-29 New York Times/Siena University poll showed Sullivan up by two. The poll was the first survey to meet the Times’ quality-control standards for its polling aggregate.

While it’s unclear why, The Alaska Landmine reported Monday that Peltola had “abruptly fired multiple senior campaign staff” over the weekend, just days before the primary.

This included two senior officials, Anton McParland and Elisa Rios, who had been with her since 2022, when she was elected to the U.S. House in 2022; Rios was her chief of staff.

Entitled Democrat lawmaker who’s been arrested three times while in office demands enormous six-figure salary increase that’ll take her pay to $250,000

A Texas Democrat who has been arrested three times while in office is seeking a six-figure salary raise. 

Harris County Treasurer Carla Wyatt has requested $250,000 ‘or more’ according to a formal salary grievance filed with the county and seen by the Houston Chronicle.

The increase, if approved, would be equivalent to a 79 percent raise on her current salary of just over $139,500.

It was filed as part of an annual process that lets elected members ask a committee for a raise, her request will be considered today. 

According to the grievance, seen by the outlet, Wyatt said she was asking for ‘an amount that fairly and appropriately reflects the statutory responsibilities, fiduciary obligations, scope of authority, workload, and level of accountability associated with the office of Harris County Treasurer.’

The request comes after her office was stripped of some of its financial oversight powers in an ongoing effort to abolish her position entirely, the outlet reported. 

Wyatt made the request while a drink driving case against her works its way though the legal system. 

Police in Galveston said that they approached a car flagged by a concerned onlooker during a patrol in May, only to find the female driver, Wyatt, ‘to be asleep.’

An officer woke Wyatt up and asked her where she was, to which she responded that she was ‘in Heaven.’

After repeated attempts to get the treasurer to say where she was and where she was going, she finally said she was in Houston, trying to get to Galveston for a conference the next morning.

At one point, Wyatt admitted to having one glass of wine that evening, before eventually changing her story to two glasses.

The arresting officers said they ‘smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting’ from Wyatt.

Wyatt also sat on the rear bumper of her car to remain upright, the officer said, according to police documents obtained by ABC13.

She eventually failed a field sobriety test and was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Wyatt was immediately taken to the Galveston County jail but has since been released, according to jail records.

Governor Hochul plans new law to block ATF proposal allowing guns to be shipped directly to homes; local experts weigh in

A recent proposal from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms aims to allow people to buy a gun online and have it shipped directly to their homes, but Gov. Kathy Hochul is pushing back.

News10NBC’s Tom Kowalski spoke with gun and legal experts to find out what this means for New York’s law-abiding gun owners. Brandon Lewis, owner of the Firing Pin gun shop in Bergen, said he believes consumers should have more choices and less regulation.

The deregulation argument

“If we permit adults to purchase alcohol or have prescription medications delivered to their door, I think we can accommodate this as well with the same overall safety mechanisms in place,” Lewis said.

Currently, New York residents who buy guns online must have them shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee like the Firing Pin.

“You would buy it like any other product that you would buy. You put your credit card in and you pay for it, and then they ship it to us,” continued Lewis.

“Once it arrives, you come in, and it would be like if you just walked in off the street and say, ‘I want to buy that gun off the rack.’ And we fill out the paperwork and then, as long as the background check clears, you take possession of it.”

Hochul takes fire at the ATF

In response to the ATF’s plan, Hochul says she intends to introduce a law requiring the final sale to be done in person, continuing the process of buying a gun online, before picking it up from an FFL.

Anthony Kuhn with the law firm Tully Rinckey said New York’s plan is likely legal.

“That’s one of those restrictions that is likely not going to be something that Second Amendment would successfully challenge,” Kuhn said. “Most likely a limitation like that isn’t strict enough that it violates an individual’s Second Amendment rights.”

Paul Adell Jr. with Rochester African American Firearms Association says he doesn’t see a problem with direct-to-home shipping if proper checks are in place.

“If the current and proper checks are in place to make sure that people are still passing the ATF background check and getting it sent to their directly to their home, I don’t think I see a problem with that at all,” Adell said.

Obama-Appointed Judge Who Blocked FBI from Moving Headquarters to Reagan Building Donated Almost $6k to Dems

The Obama-appointed judge who ruled that the FBI cannot relocate its headquarters to the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center has donated thousands of dollars to Democrats and has a history of ruling against President Donald Trump.

Judge Theodore D. Chuang, of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, found on Monday that the administration’s plan cannot proceed. As CBS News reported:

Last November, the state of Maryland sued Patel and the bureau, alleging that the Trump administration had attempted to “unlawfully sabotage” the 2023 plan and illegally divert funding that Congress had designated for the plan — over $323 million — away from it.

On Monday, U.S. District Judge Theodore Chuang sided with Maryland, writing in a 47-page opinion that the Trump administration’s move to divert the funding and cancel the plan was “arbitrary and capricious and not in accordance with law,” in addition to other violations of federal law.

In December, FBI Director Kash Patel said that moving the headquarters to the Reagan Building would save billions in taxpayer funds.

A progressive event called ‘Democracy Summit 2026’ took place in Austin, Texas this week, but apparently, everyone on the left forgot to show up.

The day featured Zoom remarks from James Talarico, Kamala Harris, Mark Kelly and a host of other heavy hitter Democrats, but for some reason there was no audience for the show.

The media keeps repeating polling that shows James Talarico ahead in the Texas Senate race. Is it possible that the polling is just fake? He certainly can’t draw a crowd.

Footage uploaded to social media by Turning Point executive Tyler Bowyer showed a near-empty room during remarks delivered by Democrat Mark Kelly, who many have pushed as a potential dark horse in the 2028 presidential primaries.

Lawless State: California Democrats Pass ‘Stop Nick Shirley Act’ – Journalists will Be Fined THOU$ANDS For Recording and Exposing Fraud Inside Immigration Support Service Providers

California Democrats on Wednesday passed AB 2624, dubbed the ‘Stop Nick Shirley Act’ by Republicans. The bill, introduced by Democrat Assemblywoman Mia Bonta, restricts the release of investigative videos exposing immigration support service providers.

Mia Bonta is married to California’s radical far-left Attorney General Rob Bonta.

The California Democrats got to work on AB 2624 earlier this year after investigative journalist Nick Shirley exposed rampant hospice and daycare fraud.

The bill will fine journalists (and regular citizens) a minimum of $4,000 for exposing potential fraud inside certain immigration support service providers.

The bill passed the California Senate on Tuesday and was sent back to the Assembly for final passage on Wednesday.

Governor Newsom is expected to sign the bill.

California Republican Assemblyman Carl DeMaio blasted the Democrats for passing Mia Bonta’s bill.

Accuser Tells House Ethics Panel Democrat Rep. Jimmy Gomez Assaulted Her

Attorneys for an unnamed woman told the House Committee on Ethics that Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-CA) sexually harassed and assaulted her, disputing the California Democrat’s claim that his conduct was “consensual in nature.”

The statement, released Wednesday by attorneys Lisa J. Banks and Sarah E. Nesbitt, escalates a probe the committee announced Monday into whether Gomez engaged in “inappropriate sexual contact with a House staffer.”

The attorneys said their client sat for an interview with the panel and directly contradicted the congressman’s account of his own behavior.

“We represent one of the women who was interviewed by the House Committee on Ethics about her experience of sexual harassment and assault by Representative Jimmy Gomez,” Banks and Nesbitt wrote. “Contrary to Representative Gomez’s assertion in his statement, his actions were not ‘consensual in nature’ with respect to our client. We fully expect that the House Committee on Ethics will come to the same conclusion in its investigation.”

SO MUCH CRINGE: Liberal Media Outlet ‘Axios’ Reports Democrats’ New Midterm Strategy is ‘Bringing Sexy Back’

Ever since the 2024 election and even before that, the Democrats have been struggling with men. Male voters have been abandoning the Democrats in droves and the party has no idea what to do about it.

They basically painted themselves into a corner on this by spending years demonizing men and pushing terms like ‘toxic masculinity.’ Their efforts to turn this around now come off as hollow and desperate.

The media is trying so hard to help them. The liberal journal the Atlantic recently published a piece declaring that the era of the Democrat ‘manly man’ is back.

Now the liberal outlet Axios is reporting that the Democrats are bringing sexy back, with male candidates who are willing to unbutton the top button of their shirts on CNN.

Democrats seem to be leaning into a specific midterm strategy, especially on socials: bringing sexy back.

Why it matters: The left is leaning into candidates who look young, energetic and even desirable, with fresh faces often eclipsing the older guard.

  • “We see a rise in young millennials, or the top part of Gen Z, trying to get into office,” says Grace Weinstein, a politics and culture senior correspondent at The Recount and founder of “Who Broke It.” “We’re talking about a generation that is not always image obsessed, but always image aware.”

The big picture: Democrats are working through identity growing pains between the left flank and the party’s establishment. But with moderates and progressives alike, Dems are playing the sex appeal card.

  • The party’s main TikTok page has given big names the thirst trap treatment, including: Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) (nicknamed “Senator My Boo” by internet fans), Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed in his tight-fitting T-shirts, a grinning NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani and former President Obama with a touch of gray, among others.

California Energy Commission Bans Sale of Majority of Tires… Far-Left Commissioner Licks Her Lips As She Boasts About New Rules

Meanwhile, in the Democrat hellhole of California…

The California Energy Commission on Monday voted to restrict what type of tires Californians can buy and when they can replace their tires.

The new rules will lead to a ban on the sale of the majority of tires in the state because they don’t meet the new efficiency standards.

The regulatory agency, full of unelected bureaucrats, claimed the new rules would lead to a price increase of only $6.50 per tire in the second phase; however, Bret Gladfelty of Goodyear said the increase would end up being several hundred dollars.

David Hochschild, the chairman of the California Energy Commission, absurdly claimed that the new tire rules are “ultimately about protecting consumers.”

KCRA reported:

At the center of this is a tire’s rolling resistance, or how much energy a tire uses as it rolls down the road. Lower resistance means a vehicle uses less gas or electricity. New cars come with generally efficient tires, but consumers typically replace those with higher rolling resistance tires.

The first phase would begin in 2029, which would allow the sale of tires with a maximum rolling resistance level of 9.1 newtons per kilonewton (N/kN). In phase 2, the standard lowers to 7.2 (N/kN) starting in 2033. The commission came up with the standards after testing 537 types of tires.

According to the commission’s staff, the rules are meant to ensure replacement tires sold in California are at least as energy efficient on average as the tires that come with the car or truck when it’s originally sold. The CEC claims Californians could save $79 in four months in gas or electricity costs under phase 1, and about $153 in phase 2 within seven months.

According to analysis by KCRA, more than 70% of tires will be banned.

Abdul El-Sayed Compares Himself to Jesus: He Was ‘Radical in His Time Too’

Far-left Democrat Michigan U.S. Senate candidate Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed cited the Quran as the inspiration behind his politics and compared himself to Jesus during a podcast interview in May.

El-Sayed — who abides by Sharia law in his personal life —  made the comments in an appearance on the The Progressive Christians Podcast, citing Islam as the force behind his politics while also denying attempting to “push a certain ideology.”

El-Sayed said:

One of the most frustrating things is there’s this notion that somehow when Muslims are trying to organize politically, that there’s this effort to push a certain ideology. There’s this verse in the Quran, Lā ikrāha fī d-dīn, which literally means there’s no compulsion on faith. So if you’re not doing a certain thing out of your faith, compelling people to follow a certain set of faith or set of laws out of your faith — like faith is kind of the thing itself.

So there is no compulsion in religion. Your job is to live out your faith, and to try to do so in a way where you’re offering dignity and opportunity to other people — not to compel them to behave in any sort of way, but to try to create a level freedom where people have the right to choose how they want to live their lives, if they want to pray at all, how they want to pray, who they want to love, how they want to engage in the world.
