Hawaii’s Democrat Lt. Gov. Sylvia Luke Indicted by Grand Jury on Criminal Conspiracy Connected to Alleged Payment Involving COVID 19 Testing Contract

A grand jury has indicted Hawaii Lt. Gov. Sylvia Luke (D) on charges of criminal conspiracy to commit bribery, bribery, and falsifying candidate committee reports.

The allegations stem from an interaction with local businessman and lobbyist Tobi Solidum that took place in 2022.

The indictment alleges Solidum offered Luke a $35,000 bribe in connection to a company he recommended to the state for a COVID-19 testing contract he was connected to.

Also included in the indictment were Solidum, former state representative Ryan Yamane (D), Ford Fuchigami, an official with Hawaii’s Transportation Department and Democrat political advisor, and Leo Asunción, a former official for Hawaii’s public utilities commission.

Fox News reports:

In January 2022, with his client’s contracts set to expire soon, Solidum met with Luke at a steakhouse and allegedly gave her two $5,000 checks made out to her campaign committee Friends of Sylvia Luke, according to prosecutors.

“By next week, we’ll have 35, so it will be halfway to our 70,” Solidum allegedly told Luke, promising to give her $70,000, according to the indictment.

“Oh wow,” Luke allegedly replied, adding, “That’s terrific,” according to the documents.
Luke admitted to accepting the two $5,000 checks, but denied taking more than that and also denied any money influencing her lawmaking.

“I never granted special favors to a contributor,” she said in a social media post, adding that she “prized integrity and honesty above all throughout her career.”

The following charges were handed down:

  • Sylvia Luke was indicted for criminal conspiracy to commit bribery, bribery, and falsifying candidate committee reports, and bail was set at $80,000.
  • Tobi Solidum was indicted for four counts of conspiracy to commit bribery and three counts of bribery, with no bail set.
  • Ford Fuchigami was indicted for conspiracy to commit bribery, bribery, use of false statements and obstruction of justice, and bail was set at $80,000.
  • Ryan Yamane was indicted for conspiracy to commit bribery and bribery with bail set at $150,000.
  •  Leo Asunción was indicted for falsifying candidate committee reports, use of false statements, and obstruction of justice with bail set at $80,000.

Worse Than Graham Platner? Troubling Personal Questions Emerge for Maine’s New Democrat Nominee for Senate – And He May Be Ineligible to Run

The Maine Democratic Party may have just nominated a candidate who may be worse than the nominee previously forced out of the race, and there are even questions about whether he’s eligible to run.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Platner dropped out of the Maine Senate race earlier this month amid explosive r*pe allegations.

The Democrats in Maine overwhelmingly voted for Platner – knowing he had a Nazi tattoo – and knowing that he sexually assaulted women he dated.

Now, they have officially nominated Troy Jackson as Platner’s replacement during a convention. But if Democrats were expecting a smooth ride for their new would-be Collins conqueror, they were sorely mistaken.

First, Jackson may not be eligible to run to start with. As pointed out by GOP Rep. James White, Maine has a “sore loser” law that says a candidate who runs for one office and loses cannot run for another office in the same cycle.

Jackson previously ran for governor before dropping out.

Outrageous: George Washington University Summer Program Primes Middle School Students For Leftist Activism

In what appears to be another case of left-wing indoctrination at a young age, Campus Reform is reporting, “George Washington University is offering a free summer program that grooms local middle school students for progressive activism…”

“The Civic Changemakers program, operated by the university’s Honey W. Nashman Center for Civic Engagement and Public Service, pairs middle school children with adult college students, includes field trips and workshops, and culminates in an activism project.”

It’s bad enough that college students are being indoctrinated in Woke ideology across the country, but this reveals the left is targeting students as young as middle school for leftist brainwashing.

Rather than teaching basic academics, this program focuses on left-wing activism and controversial issues.

This is hardly the first time this has been tried either.

“A 2020 university report described students participating in lessons centered on the Black Lives Matter movement and helping “children learn social justice.”

This is precisely what students don’t need: BLM indoctrination, more math, less BLM.

Mom warns ‘truth will come out’ after daughter, 18, shot dead in congresswoman’s husband’s house

A grieving mother warned that the ‘truth will come out’ after her 18–year–old daughter was found dead inside a Democratic congresswoman’s husband’s seven figure house.

Yoseliani Marte, 18, was found dead by police from a single gunshot wound around 2pm on Saturday at a $1.15 million Boston property owned by progressive Massachusetts Rep. Ayanna Pressley’s spouse, Conan Harris. Pressley and Harris do not live at the house.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that Marte had died from a single gunshot wound, though her manner of death is still being investigated, according to Boston25News.

Marte’s mother, Elenie Ocasio, has insisted that her daughter was not suicidal and instead claimed that she was ‘murdered.’

‘My daughter did not deserve this, and it’s all going to come out to light,’ she told the outlet. ‘Everything’s gonna come out.’

As of Thursday, Boston authorities had not announced any arrests or charges in connection to Marte’s death.

Marte was living at home in Dorchester, the largest neighborhood in Boston, but visiting a boyfriend on the day she died, her family told WCVB.

Ocasio said that she was still in ‘shock’ at her daughter’s death inside the eight–bedroom, four–bathroom house in Boston’s Mattapan neighborhood.

Michigan City Council Member With Violent Past Charged With Election Fraud

Flint, Michigan, City Council Member Leon El-Alamin, seems to believe honesty is the best policy. 

“I deal with a lot of different types of people. I’m always me regardless of who they are. Whether it’s the governor or mayor, I’m still going to be honest and tell you the truth of what’s going on, and the things that you can do to help,” El-Alamin said in a profile produced by Muslims for American Progress (MAP) Project. 

But the community activist and face of Democrat Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s sweeping criminal record expungement program finds himself allegedly at odds with the truth, once again in trouble with the law — this time facing election fraud charges amid his re-election campaign. That may be the least of the former drug dealer’s problems in a swing state notorious for election integrity issues. 

‘Political Distraction’

El-Alamin is free on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond after his arraignment earlier this month, according to mlive.com. He was expected to appear in court for his preliminary hearing on Thursday. If convicted of the charges against him, Flint’s 1st Ward councilman could be sentenced to a maximum five years in prison, and he’d lose his place on the November ballot. 

El-Alamin, 45, stands accused of lying on his affidavit in April 2025, claiming he resided within Flint’s city limits to qualify for the council seat. He did not, Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton told ABC 12 in Flint. Instead, El-Alamin was residing in nearby Mt. Morris Township, residents and others told police. A tenant at the Flint address listed on the councilman’s affidavit also told investigators that El-Alamin did not live there, but that he was the landlord of the property.

‘Not appropriate’: Blue-state attorney general paid $570 an hour to law firm that contributed to his campaign

Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown’s office agreed to pay $570 an hour to attorneys at an outside law firm that contributed to Brown’s campaign, records obtained by The Center Square show.

Four additional law firms that received contracts with the AG’s office donated to the campaign of Brown, a Democrat, records show. Together, the five firms and their affiliated political action committees contributed $30,250 to Brown’s campaign committee.

Brown’s office signed the contract with Ballard Spahr LLP of Philadelphia in November 2022. Two years earlier, the firm donated $2,500 to Friends of Anthony Brown, Brown’s campaign committee, according to state campaign finance records. Two months after the contract was signed, the law firm donated another $2,500. The contract also pays paralegals $295 an hour. If renewed, attorney rates increased to $595 an hour and paralegal rates to $315 an hour.

Brown’s office initially refused to release the hourly rates but reversed course Wednesday after The Center Square appealed to the Public Access Ombudsman, a voluntary, confidential mediator.

The Center Square requested the records for contracts with outside counsel since 2023, the year Brown, 61, took office. Brown’s office released two outside-counsel contracts and the names of 81 law firms, lawyers and legal nonprofits with which it entered into agreements.

The redaction was at odds with two recent rulings by the state’s Public Information Act Compliance Board, which held that another government agency should make similar payment information public.

Under the contract, Ballard Spahr may represent multiple state agencies, including the Maryland Department of Transportation and the Department of General Services. A Ballard Spahr spokesman did not respond to two requests for interview.

The office also declined to provide bidding documents or requests for proposals to show how the contracts were issued and the total amounts paid the firms.

Dem Political Operative Arrested for Trying to Take Cop’s Gun During NH Traffic Stop

A Montpelier woman identified as a longtime Democratic political operative in Vermont and Bernie Sanders senior campaign aide has been charged after New Hampshire police say a Saturday, July 18 traffic incident escalated into an attempt to seize an officer’s firearm during her arrest.

According to the Lebanon, New Hampshire Police Department, officers responded at about 6:13 PM Saturday, July 18, to multiple 911 calls reporting a white Mazda stopped in the middle of Mechanic Street near Slayton Hill, blocking traffic.

Witnesses told police the driver, identified as Sheila Healy, 39, of Montpelier, was yelling at passing motorists and people who stopped to help. Callers also reported Healy claimed a sniper was targeting her and warned that anyone approaching would be shot.

Police said the Hartford VT Police Department had alerted Lebanon officers shortly before the incident that the same vehicle had crossed into New Hampshire with its hazard lights activated after allegedly traveling about 60 mph in a 30 mph zone and running multiple red lights.

When officers arrived, they found Healy attempting to refuel the vehicle with a gasoline can while it remained stopped in the travel lane. Police said she ignored repeated commands to keep her hands visible, re-entered the vehicle, and refused orders to get out.

According to police, officers removed Healy from the vehicle and attempted to place her under arrest. During the struggle, she allegedly pulled away, refused to walk, and reached for an officer’s holstered handgun, attempting to remove it from the duty belt. Officers prevented her from taking the weapon and completed the arrest without injuries.

Healy was held on preventative detention and transported to the Grafton County House of Corrections.

She is charged with attempted taking of a firearm from a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, reckless operation, simple assault on a law enforcement officer, three counts of criminal threatening, and parking or stopping where prohibited. She is scheduled to be arraigned July 20 in Lebanon District Court.

Lebanon Police Chief Phillip Roberts commended the officers’ actions, calling the attempted disarming of an officer “among the most serious and dangerous attacks an Officer can face,” and credited their teamwork and restraint with preventing serious injury.

Healy has worked in Democratic politics for many years. Her online professional profile lists her current position as full-time campaign manager for Friends of Bernie Sanders, a role she reportedly began in July.

However, WCAX reports that a spokesperson for Sanders said in a statement that Healy “has not had any formal role or voluntary role since the end of the 2020 presidential campaign. She is not associated with and does not represent the Friends of Bernie Sanders campaign or the Senate office.”

She previously served as labor outreach director for Sanders’ 2020 presidential campaign and has held positions as field director for Sanders’ U.S. Senate reelection campaign, senior advisor to the Vermont Democratic Party, regional vice president of the Vermont AFL-CIO, and executive director of the Arizona Democratic Party. 

Court records show she filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against the Arizona Democratic Party in 2017 following her dismissal. The suit alleged she had been offered the Vermont Democratic Party executive director position but declined it,  based on expectation of a bonus that was not provided.

CO Dem Candidate Deleted These Reddit Posts. You Can See Why He Did That.

Manny Rutinel is the Colorado Democrat running in the 8th district. He’s also another candidate with some unusual social media posts. No, it’s nowhere near as extreme as Graham Platner, who is on a different level with posts about masturbating in port-a-potties, among other things, but it’s worth noting that Rutinel deleted these Reddit posts, likely because they could damage the local economy. They were a form of advocacy for vegan authoritarianism, which is not something ranchers want to hear.

State Rep. Manny Rutinel, in since-deleted posts made nearly a decade ago on the social media site Reddit, voiced support for a movement that aims to put animals on the same legal footing as humans and in turn prohibit their slaughter for food and other uses. 

Rutinel, a Democrat running to represent Colorado’s toss-up 8th Congressional District, envisioned a future in which so-called animal liberation legislation would be adopted.

“Veganism will grow at a gradual pace, farmers will produce fewer farm animals to meet the decreased demand,” he posted in 2017. “The fewer animals that are left living by the time an animal liberation amendment arrives will spend the remainder of their lives happily in either an animal sanctuary or be kept as a pet.”

His changing views on meat could be politically helpful: The 8th District, which spans Denver’s northeast suburbs into Greeley, is arguably Colorado’s agricultural capital. 

It’s filled with ranches, feedlots and dairy farms, which generated about $1.2 billion in animal products in 2022. The district is also home to a JBS meatpacking facility in Greeley, one of the nation’s largest beef slaughterhouses.

Democrats Vote to Make South Carolina the First 2028 Primary State – And Here’s Who Will Benefit

Democrats are set to make South Carolina its first 2028 primary state.

The Democrat National Committee panel on Friday voted to make South Carolina – a state with a large black voting bloc, their first presidential primary state.

“So they will emerge as the first contest in a body of work that will have a plethora of good contests for these candidates to really vie for,” the panel said.

This is a major shift away from Iowa and Nevada – states with fewer black voters.

Recall that Joe Biden pushed for the Democrats to move its first voting state to South Carolina because that is where he made his ‘come back’ in 2020.

Joe Biden requested the change going into the 2024 election after he took a punch to the gut in Iowa and came in 5th place in the New Hampshire 2020 primaries.
