NY lawmakers claim Hochul is targeting them for ongoing probe into alleged $11B Medicaid program scandal

State lawmakers are accusing Gov. Kathy Hochul of retaliating against them for continuing a probe into mounting claims her administration rigged the contract for a massive $11 billion Medicaid homecare program.

State Sens. Jim Skoufis (D-Orange) and Gustavo Rivera (D-Bronx) plan to send a letter Tuesday demanding Hochul’s administration turn over evidence surrounding bid rigging and other allegations centering on her overhaul of the $11 billion per year Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program.

While the lawmakers were finalizing plans to move the investigation forward last week, Hochul took the unusual step of vetoing several of Skoufis’ bills, including one that would reimburse pharmacies for consulting patients on abortion procedures.

The Hudson Valley lawmaker, who shocked many with his full-throated attacks on Hochul during this year’s budget votes, accused the Democratic governor of vetoing his bills as payback for pushing the probe.

“The Governor wanted me to suppress critical information related to the CDPAP investigation, plain and simple. Kathy Hochul is barking up the wrong tree if she’s looking for a hack to shamelessly cover for her administration,” Skoufis said.

School Scrambling After Teacher Goes Viral for Mocking Charlie Kirk’s Death at ‘No Kings’ Protest

The weekend’s “No Kings” protest is turning into a royal pain for one Chicago elementary school.

Nathan Hale Elementary has gone social media dark after one of its teachers was identified as the woman who made a mockery of the assassination of conservative organizer Charlie Kirk, according to the U.K.’s Daily Mail.

But social media critics have been swarming.

According to the Daily Mail, a British-based news outlet with a significant U.S. presence, a teacher at Nathan Hale, Lucy Martinez, was participating in a “No Kings” demonstration  — organized internationally by progressives railing against the Trump administration — when a truck flying a flag in honor of Kirk drove past.

Martinez pointed a finger gun at her neck, mouthing the words “bang, bang.”

Kirk was fatally shot in the neck during an appearance at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, in September.

The video has gone viral, with the Libs of TikTok account on the social media platform X alone generating more than 3.4 million views by early Monday afternoon.

Nathan Hale Elementary has apparently shuttered its website, and its account is no longer available on X.A phone call to the school got a recording stating that the voicemail in-box was full and asking callers to try again later.

The incident drew attention from some well-known conservative figures.

COLBERT FACT-CHECKS KJP: Biden’s Former Spokesperson Gets Schooled on National TV After Calling His Ouster a ‘Betrayal’

It finally happened. Even Stephen Colbert, the late-night comedian who’s spent years carrying water for the Biden White House, has had enough.

During an awkward and brutally honest exchange, Colbert dunked on Biden’s press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre (KJP) after she tried to paint Joe Biden’s ouster as some grand “betrayal” by his own party.

But Colbert wasn’t buying it.

KJP immediately launched into her typical talking points about Biden being “engaging” and “putting the American people first,” but Colbert hit back with a dose of reality.

That’s when things went downhill for KJP fast. As she blamed critics for an “ugly assault” on Biden, Colbert cut her off.

Transcript via Vigilant Fox:

COLBERT: “I saw a guy who I had not seen backstage… It seemed like a dramatically different person. And at 81 years old, that’s not entirely unexpected. You can imagine why people got so worried.”

KJP: “No one is saying that he didn’t age. I’m talking about did he have… the mental acuity, was he able to govern? And the man that I saw nearly every day was someone who was engaging, understood policy, and was always putting the American people first.”

COLBERT: “I don’t think anybody questioned his heart or his policies. But it takes more than that to be the President of the United States. And in a moment of great pressure on stage, we saw someone shock us and worry us, and nothing could assuage that worry. So I don’t think it was necessarily a betrayal of Joe Biden as other people saying, ‘We don’t think we were shown the Joe Biden that you saw.’”

KJP: “I saw every day a really ugly assault on someone who had 50-plus years of experience and who, again, objectively had done a good job as President of the United States. And it was heartbreaking to see that type of behavior.”

COLBERT: “What happened was the debate performance. Everything is downstream of that.”

KJP: “And no one is saying that the debate performance wasn’t shocking, wasn’t a disappointment. No one is saying that.”

COLBERT: “Disappointment is such a light term.”

KJP: “I use your word.”

COLBERT (mocking): “It was harrowing. Look, listen, we’re never going to agree on this.”

KJP: “We’re not.”

COLBERT: “Other than the fact that I’m glad that you came here tonight and I’m telling you to wrap over there. Would you like to say one more thing before we go?”

Pardoned Capitol rioter arrested for allegedly threatening to murder Hakeem Jeffries

A pardoned Capitol rioter has been arrested for allegedly threatening to kill House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries while he spoke at a New York event.

Christopher Moynihan, 34, allegedly said in a text that he would “eliminate” the Brooklyn Democrat during his Monday speech at the Economic Club of New York, according to a court filing seen by CBS News.

“Hakeem Jeffries makes a speech in a few days in NYC I cannot allow this terrorist to live,” Moynihan, who was pardoned nine months ago by President Trump, allegedly wrote in the message.

“Even if I am hated, he must be eliminated,” he also allegedly stated, according to the filing. “I will kill him for the future.”

Force investigation on a felony charge of making a terroristic threat. He is due in court in Dutchess County, NY, on Thursday, court filings show.

He was arraigned in local court in Clinton, NY, and remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center “in lieu of $10,000 cash bail, a $30,000 bond, or an $80,000 partially secured bond,” state troopers said in a statement.

CNN’s Tapper: Dems Created Expiration Date for Obamacare Subsidies, Not GOP

On Friday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Lead,” host Jake Tapper pushed back on Rep. Jamie Raskin’s (D-MD) claim that the expiration of Affordable Care Act subsidies that are at issue in the government shutdown is a Republican policy by noting that the expiration date for the Obamacare subsidies is something Democrats put in place, not the Republicans.

While discussing the expiration of the Affordable Care Act subsidies and the politics of the issue, Raskin said, “I have not heard any Democrats, none have said to me, oh, let’s just allow this terrible Republican policy to go forward so we can beat them on it next year.”

Tapper then said, “Congressman, you called it a terrible Republican policy. Democrats are the ones that put in this end date into these COVID-era Obamacare premium extensions, not Republicans. But, be that as it may, do you have the votes? If Speaker Johnson (R-LA) were to say, okay, fine, we’re going to have a vote on this tomorrow, have you and your Democratic colleagues lobbied five to ten Republicans in the House to support you so that if this were to come up for a vote, it would pass?”

Leftists Overwhelm Small Farm With Death Threats For Hosting Conservative Think Tank

In my Oct. 2 article for The Federalist, I detailed a chilling 2,500 percent spike in indexed internet content pairing “Trump” with “fascist” over the past 10 years, with the biggest surge happening since mid-2024. This spike in dangerous rhetoric is evidence of a left-wing effort to dehumanize conservatives as existential threats.

From Hillary Clinton likening Trump’s rallies to Nazi gatherings to Kamala Harris branding him a “fascist” threat to democracy, the language has poisoned discourse and, as we’ve seen, inspired real-world harm — including assassination attempts on Trump and the recent murder of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk by a radical immersed in anti-Trump echo chambers.

This toxic playbook has now played out in microcosm in Austin, Texas, where a Reddit mob’s incendiary pressure campaign against a local farm not only forced an event cancellation for a conservative group, but allegedly escalated to death threats against the owners and their employees.

It’s a stark reminder: Words like “fascist” aren’t just insults; they’re weapons.

The saga began on Oct. 15, 2025, when a Reddit user in the r/Austin subreddit posted a thread titled “Yikes. Boggy Creek Farms is hosting Texas Public Policy Foundation.” The post lambasted the conservative think tank Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF), my employer, as a “fascist” front for Christian nationalism, Project 2025, and billionaire oil interests, urging users to shame the farm into canceling a family-friendly event on regenerative agriculture and “Make America Healthy Again” for the TPPF-affiliated Liberty Leadership Council, a 40-and-under professional organization.

The event, which went on as scheduled at TPPF’s offices, featured Texas Republican state Rep. Helen Kerwin (mother of the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins), the author of a bill to keep PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl) chemicals out of sewage-based fertilizer — a cause that one would presume would see support across the political spectrum.

Commenters quickly piled on, calling for boycotts, supplier drops, and even fake RSVPs to sabotage the gathering. One user equated hosting TPPF to platforming the Klan or Nazis, framing the venue’s desired “neutrality” as complicity with “oppressors.” The thread, which garnered hundreds of upvotes and comments, has since been deleted by the original poster, but its impact was immediate and devastating.

Don’t Blame ICE For Enforcing The Law. Blame Democrats For Breaking It

It’s apparently “cruel” to enforce immigration law, at least that’s what the left has been telling us for months now.

“Trump’s cruel immigration machine is still tearing families apart,” Jordan Foster, Dylan Gee, and Dina Francesca Haynes wrote for MSNBC.

California Democrat Scott Peters said in June that ICE raids are “cruel and wasteful.” ICE agents, according to Peters, “took away four undocumented dishwashers and line cooks.”

“Instead of targeting real threats, this administration is carrying out a cruel agenda that will disrupt our economy, further erode trust in law enforcement, and sow chaos and fear,” Peters continued.

It’s the same narrative we hear time and time again, that enforcing immigration law is inherently “cruel” — not because the laws have changed, but simply because the laws are being enforced.

Gustavo Arellano — whose father was an illegal alien — wrote for the Los Angeles Times that “There’s no nice way to deport someone. But Trump’s ICE is hosting a cruelty Olympics.”

“The Trump presidency has amply proven he has no interest in skirting meanness and cruelty,” Arellano wrote. “This administration is never going to roll out the welcome mat for illegal immigrants. But the least they can do [is] deal with them as if … well, as if they are human.”

The National Immigration Law Center called ICE raids and arrests harmful.

“The only coherent policy goal of this administration when it comes to immigration is its relentless pursuit of cruelty — no matter what the cost and no matter what else is impacted. The strategy is clear: to cultivate so much suffering and fear, through real and threatened violence, that immigrants choose to abandon their communities and lives in the United States.”

But the “harm” and the “cruelty” these critics decry are nothing more than the enforcement of laws, laws that Democrats themselves ignored, which got us to this exact point.

Those who enter the country illegally are subject to removal. But Democrats spent years looking the other way entirely on all border and immigration laws, and in doing so sought to condition the American people to see enforcement of the law as “cruel.” Thus, when the law is finally applied, the left falls back on emotional blackmail.

Virginia Democrat Donor Shouts Racist Slurs at Winsome Earle-Sears — at His Son’s Football Game

Can you imagine letting your hate consume you so much that you would shout something racist at a politician you don’t agree with — and potentially embarrass your son at his football game? That didn’t bother Scott Pogorelc.

At the James Madison University football game on Saturday, Pogorelc shouted at Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears (R-Va.), who is the GOP nominee in Virginia’s race for governor, to “Go back to Haiti” and called her a “traitor.” And someone caught the racist dolt on camera.

Classy, amirite? For the record, Earle-Sears was born in Jamaica, not Haiti, and she’s an American citizen.

Pogorelc is also the father of one of JMU’s players. His son is a senior offensive lineman, and regardless of his politics, I can’t help but think that James Pogorelc might think that his dad is embarrassing.

‘Make Assassinations Great Again’: Leftist Demonstrators Call For Murder Of Trump

The “No Kings” protesters are not satisfied with the concept of persuading people to adopt their political views; instead, they want to kill their opposition and then celebrate the death the way they lauded Charlie Kirk’s murder. It sounds like a harsh accusation until you read the signs protesters made and carried during Saturday’s “No Kings” events.

Many were straight calls for murder, and others were so vile that they call into question the sanity of anyone comfortable carrying such words — like the woman with the sloppy cardboard sign scrawled with a marker: “Which one heals faster? (A) Trump’s ear (B) Erika’s heart,” referring to Charlie Kirk’s widow.

There was also this menacing woman, acting out the moment a bullet hit Charlie Kirk’s neck. By Monday morning it was widely reported that she is a public school teacher at Chicago’s Nathan Hale Elementary School, which abruptly shut down its website and X account.

Foreign Interference? Leftist Groups Try To Nuke Voter Citizenship Rule Supported By 83% Of Americans

More than eight in 10 Americans support policies that would require documented proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in U.S. elections, according to a Gallup poll conducted just two weeks before the 2024 presidential election. But a well-funded campaign by leftist “voter rights” groups is lobbying hard to mute the voices of the 83 percent.

The Election Assistance Commission’s comment period on a petition asking the agency to require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote is in its final hours. Comments are due by the end of Monday. Visit the federal rulemaking portal here to comment.

Stacking the Deck

In July, America First Legal Foundation submitted a petition asking the EAC to amend the federal voter registration form to require documentary proof of citizenship to register to vote in federal elections. The National Voter Registration Act requires states to “accept and use the mail voter registration form prescribed . . . for the registration of voters in elections for Federal office.” The commission is empowered to “require . . . information . . . necessary to enable the appropriate State election official to assess the eligibility of the applicant and to administer voter registration and other parts of the election process.”

But leftist organizations like the League of Women Voters are rallying their troops to oppose the requested changes. Sources tracking comments in recent weeks tell The Federalist that liberal groups have ginned up a flood of comments opposed to the petition, some coming from dozens of foreign countries.

“Urge the EAC not to require documentary proof of citizenship,” the League’s website begs. Like its election integrity denier compatriots, the League hyperbolically insists that requiring proof of citizenship to vote “creates unnecessary barriers for many eligible voters.” It doesn’t.

‘Loopholes and an Honor System’

And the “nonpartisan” League leans on the left’s usual faulty talking point, asserting that “it’s already illegal for noncitizens to vote.” The current form is nothing more than an honor system, asking registrants to attest that they are a “citizen of the United States of America.” Few get caught because enforcement isn’t a priority. Even when they do, it’s impossible to track the illegal vote — as was the case when a foreign national from China allegedly voted illegally at the University of Michigan in last year’s presidential election.

As America First Legal noted in the petition, noncitizens voting in U.S. elections is not a hypothetical issue.

“America First Legal will not stand by while our elections are undermined by loopholes and an ‘honor system’ that invites fraud. The right to vote is the sacred privilege of American citizens — period,” the petition asserts. “We are demanding that the EAC fulfill its duty to the American people by requiring real, documentary proof of citizenship to register for federal elections. Anything less is an open invitation for illegal voting and a betrayal of our democracy.”
