Karmelo Anthony trial ignites rival camps that threaten to get in jurors’ heads in track meet stabbing: expert

The first day of jury selection in the case involving a Texas teenager accused of stabbing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf to death following a confrontation at a high school track meet was ushered in by demonstrators from both sides taking to the streets outside the courthouse, raising concerns about a potential outside influence impacting the jury. 

Karmelo Anthony, 18, is charged with first-degree murder stemming from Metcalf’s death. 

The case sparked outrage both in the local community and nationwide, with conversations surrounding race and self-defense rights taking center stage. 

On Monday, as prospective jurors arrived at the courthouse to be considered for selection, a crowd of demonstrators descended outside the court-ordered perimeter to voice their support for both sides of the case.

Positioned on opposite sides of the street, video footage shows the groups chanting, playing instruments and carrying signs both in favor and against Anthony – with the crowd of counter-demonstrators also carrying a large sign with Metcalf’s photo. 

“We declare, we decree, Karmelo is free,” supporters of Anthony can be heard saying outside the courthouse.

Turkish Expansionism: The Central Threat To Stability In The Eastern Mediterranean And The Balkans

The Turkish government is methodically advancing a revisionist maritime agenda that threatens to upend decades of relative stability in the Eastern Mediterranean. Through its newly prepared draft “Law on Turkish Maritime Jurisdiction Areas,” Ankara aims to enshrine expansive EEZ and continental shelf claims into domestic legislation. This move represents the institutionalization of the controversial “Blue Homeland” (Mavi Vatan) doctrine, aggressively promoted by Prof. Cihat Yaycı. In public appearances and analyses, Yaycı insists that international law favors Turkey, sharply distinguishing between continental shelf rights linked to the mainland and the allegedly limited role of Greek islands, while accusing Greece of unjustified expansionism. What is presented as a technical legal clarification is, in reality, a calculated political act intended to legitimize unilateral Turkish claims over vast maritime areas long considered Greek under international norms.

Greece is bearing the brunt of this sustained pressure. With thousands of islands scattered across the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean, many of them close to the Turkish coast, Athens faces systematic attempts to diminish or eliminate the maritime zones these islands are entitled to generate. Turkish research vessels repeatedly enter disputed waters, fighter jets violate Greek airspace on a near-daily basis, and official Turkish maps increasingly portray large parts of the Aegean as Turkish. This is not abstract posturing. It directly threatens Greece’s sovereignty, its exclusive economic rights over potential hydrocarbon resources, and the security of its island populations. In this environment of constant tension, Greece quite naturally turns to its traditional allies in Europe and the United States, hoping they will uphold the rules-based international order and defend the principle that islands fully generate territorial waters and EEZs under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

Unfortunately, the Western response has been fragmented and often self-defeating. While the European Union issues occasional statements supporting Greece and Cyprus, several member states continue to expand military, technological, and economic cooperation with Turkey. Defense industry partnerships, drone acquisitions, migration control agreements, and energy transit projects proceed apace. This pragmatic engagement bolsters Turkey’s economic and military capabilities at a time when Ankara is using that strength to challenge the territorial integrity and maritime rights of an EU member state. Such policies send a dangerous signal: revisionist behavior carries few meaningful costs. Instead of deterring Turkish assertiveness, Europe risks rewarding it, thereby weakening the collective security architecture it claims to uphold.

Turkish expansionism stands today as the single greatest source of instability across the Eastern Mediterranean and the Balkans. It extends far beyond the Aegean dispute. The 2019 Turkey-Libya maritime memorandum attempted to erase Greek rights in the Mediterranean; continued provocations around Cyprus perpetuate the island’s division; and assertive naval exercises regularly demonstrate Ankara’s willingness to project power. In the Balkans, Turkey pursues growing political and religious influence, often leveraging historical ties in ways that unsettle regional balances. This pattern reflects a broader neo-Ottoman strategic vision that seeks to reshape the post-World War II order according to Turkish preferences rather than accepted international law and mutual respect for sovereignty.

Electric Vehicles Lead Major Car Maker to Report First Loss in Decades

Honda Motors reported its first annual loss in nearly 70 years, which came as a result of an emphasis on electric cars.

The Japan-based car company has been listed on the stock market since 1957, but the combination of electric vehicle bets and Trump trade policies led to its first-ever year in the red.

“EV demand has declined considerably, due to the rollback of environmental regulations in the U.S. and other factors,” Honda said in a statement, per a report from Fox Business.

The company faces $9 billion in restructuring costs because of the lackluster electric vehicle demand.

It suffered a $2.7 billion loss in the past fiscal year, according to a report from the Associated Press.

Jill Biden’s Memoir Is Going to Tear the Democrats Apart

The Bidens want to restore Joe Biden’s legacy after his disastrous presidency and his Hindenburg-style campaign collapse, and phase one is Jill Biden’s forthcoming memoir. The next step will be Joe Biden’s inevitable presidential memoir, which is sure to have quite a few doozies in it, but for now, we have Jill’s, and if she thought her book would “set the record straight” and the Democrat Party would be thrilled, well, that’s not what’s happening at all. Instead, it’s setting the Democrat Party on fire — and the people most enraged are the ones who spent years covering for Joe Biden.

According to Axios, several former Biden aides, including some of the most loyal ones, are furious about the former first lady’s efforts to rewrite history. Jill’s book, by all accounts, does what the Bidens have always done: point the finger everywhere except at the mirror.

“The throughline between her book and [Kamala] Harris’ is that they blame everyone but themselves for the loss,” one former aide said. And another put it even more bluntly. “It’s just so selfish. The Bidens preached selflessness and service above all — and every decision they’ve made since he decided to run for reelection has been about themselves.”

Ouch, that’s quite the indictment. And it’s coming from people who worked for the man.

The central tension in all of this is the June 2024 CNN debate with President Donald Trump. That was the night America watched Joe Biden visibly struggle to complete a coherent thought on a national stage. In one night, the liberal media, which had spent years pretending that Joe Biden was as sharp as a tack, could no longer pretend everything was okay. As PJ Media previously reported, Jill Biden claimed she thought Joe was having a stroke and cleverly suggested that her husband had never acted like that before or since.

Even former Obama aide Tommy Vietor couldn’t ignore the contradiction: if Jill Biden genuinely feared her husband was having a medical emergency on live television, why did the campaign proceed with the post-debate schedule? Joe went to a rally. Then he went to a Waffle House. Nobody called a doctor. Nobody pumped the brakes. That’s not the sign of a campaign thinking that Joe was having a medical issue.

DOT Subpoenas New York After Deadly Virginia Bus Crash — State Accused of Stonewalling Federal Investigation Into Chinese-Born CDL Holder

The Biden-era policies that opened the floodgates to lax oversight and questionable licensing practices are once again under scrutiny after the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) issued a subpoena to the State of New York over its refusal to cooperate with a federal investigation into a deadly bus crash that killed five people in Virginia.

According to a report from Fox News, the DOT confirmed it has formally subpoenaed New York officials after the state allegedly failed to provide records related to Jing Shen Dong, the bus driver accused of causing the horrific crash in Stafford County, Virginia, on Friday morning.

The crash left five people dead and multiple others injured, raising serious questions about how Dong obtained and maintained his commercial driver’s license (CDL).

“The Acura caught fire, police said. Four of the five people killed were in the Acura: a 45-year-old man, a 44-year-old woman, a 13-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy, all from Greenfield, Massachusetts, police said,” ABC News reported.

“The fifth victim killed, a 25-year-old woman, was in the Suburban, police said,” the outlet reported.

“Forty-four people were taken to hospitals, including three with critical injuries, police said,” ABC reported.

Federal officials say Dong is a naturalized U.S. citizen who was born in China, does not speak English, and received his CDL through the State of New York in 2024.

Now, transportation officials want answers.

According to DOT, investigators attempted to obtain critical documents through normal channels but were repeatedly met with resistance from New York authorities.

“The subpoena is a result of not being able to obtain the requested documents through other reasonable means,” a DOT spokesperson told Fox News.

The federal agency is demanding that New York turn over all records related to Dong’s CDL, his entry-level driver training, and the driving school he attended.

Those records must be produced by Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time.

Failure to comply could result in penalties and additional legal consequences.

Rubio braces for Hill grilling as Republicans join bid to curb Trump’s Iran war powers

Secretary of State Marco Rubio is expected to face tough questions on Capitol Hill this week as Congress threatens to curb President Donald Trump’s war powers, while the administration pushes for an end to the conflict with Iran.

Rubio will testify in four congressional hearings on Tuesday and Wednesday on the State Department’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year. But the Trump official is likely to be grilled on the ongoing negotiations to end the war and whether the U.S. military campaign should continue against Iranian forces and the country’s nuclear capabilities. 

The U.S. and Iran have yet to agree on terms to end sporadic fighting. Iran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and potential sanctions relief have emerged as key sticking points in negotiations. 

President Donald Trump said Monday that he “couldn’t care less” if the stalled talks were over, in an interview with CNBC.

“I don’t care if they’re over, honestly,” Trump told the outlet. “If they’re over, they’re over. If they’re not, you know, I think they took too much time. Frankly, I thought they started to get very boring.”

The president’s comments followed fresh rounds of fighting over the weekend that tested the fragile ceasefires in place since early April. The U.S. military has shown no signs of ending its blockade of Iranian ports while Tehran has continued to flex its hold over the Strait of Hormuz.

HORROR: “I’ve Been Stabbed!” – UK Police Bodycam Footage Shows Stabbing Victim Henry Nowak Pleading with Officers as They Cuff and Drag Him 

UK police bodycam footage shows 18-year-old Henry Nowak pleading with officers after he was stabbed by a Sikh man named Vickrum Digwa.

Nowak, an accounting and finance student, was walking home from a night out in Southampton on December 3, 2025, when Digwa, 23, stabbed the teen 5 times with an 8-inch knife.

Digwa stabbed Nowak in the face, legs and chest.

Nowak tried to flee but he was bleeding profusely. When police arrived, Digwa told police that Nowak was a racist and knocked off his head wrap.

“We’ve just been attacked by someone racially, this [REDACTED]… we’ve been attacked racially by some white person,” Digwa’s brother told police in a 911 call.

Nowak told police that he had been stabbed, but police handcuffed him and dragged him away while he was bleeding out and dying.

“I can’t breathe!” “I’m dying!” the 18-year-old shouted as British police dragged him.

The police did not believe Nowak until it was too late.

“I don’t think you have, mate,” the officer told Nowak.

Moments later, Nowak is seen lying on the ground, lifeless.

Infected Lab Monkey Bites Government Employee in the US, GOP Senator Demands Investigation

In the seminal 2002 horror film “28 Days Later,” an apocalyptic zombie plague devastates the world — and it all began with a batch of sickly monkeys in a lab.

While zombies (likely) aren’t real, that hasn’t stopped at least one lawmaker from sounding the alarm about what just happened in sleepy Montana.

According to Politico, “a renowned federal research lab” in Big Sky Country saw a situation where an infected lab monkey bit an employee.

The incident occurred in November at a National Institutes of Health facility, and the culprit was a monkey infected with Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever.

Thankfully, the worker was promptly treated for the bite, and never picked up the lethal tick-borne illness. The employee was soon able to return to work.

While the story may have ultimately had a happy ending, the circumstances surrounding it require much deeper investigation, according to Montana Republican Sen. Tim Sheehy.

Sharing a post from Trump ally Laura Loomer, Sheehy revealed that he had sent a letter to the Department of Health and Human Services about the matter.

He included a straightforward — if not ominous — caption: “We don’t want Montana to be the next Wuhan. Montanans and Americans deserve answers over concerning reports out of Rocky Mountain Laboratories.”

Sheehy further elaborated on his concerns in the letter.

“Rocky Mountain Laboratories (RML) is a federal National Institutes of Health (NIH) research facility in Hamilton, Montana, that conducts studies on some of the world’s most dangerous infectious diseases,” Sheehy wrote. “The seriousness of the work conducted at RML means that even small lapses can carry real risks for the staff and surrounding community.”

Indeed, warnings about “real risks” carry quite a bit of weight, especially given that, per Loomer, the RML facility had been doing work with the Ebola virus.

Given the seriousness of Ebola, Sheehy’s letter to HHS included a four-pronged request.

First, Sheehy wanted a thorough investigation into the basics, including what happened, what pathogens are being used, and biosafety regulations.

Second, Sheehy also wanted a thorough analysis of RML’s safety procedures, and how they can be improved.

Third, Sheehy wanted HHS to dig deeper into RML’s “personnel management practices, including background checks, oversight, and clearance processes for staff.”

Finally, Sheehy wanted a further debrief on NIH’s protocols for employees who are under investigation for whatever reason, including what sort of facility access they have.

Busted! Leftist Media Wants You to Think Talarico Is Polling Ahead of Paxton in Texas

There are two kinds of political polls. The first is curated propaganda for your consumption. Its goal is not to reflect public opinion but to shape it. It’s designed to shape your opinion, and in a sense manipulate you in the most cynical of ways. The second is the internal poll, where the campaign pays for it and keeps the results out of the public eye. This is the information and data the campaign uses to plan for, initiate, and respond to the day-to-day events of the campaign.

Since all campaigns conduct their own internal polling, you have to know that if their behavior and messaging seem slightly out of step with the general tone of news coverage, this is the reason. They know something the media does not, and you do not.

The Senate race in Texas has just served up a great example of how the left and their partners in the legacy media like to use polls to manipulate public opinion.

According to a poll from an organization called Texas Public Opinion Research (TPOR), Texas state Rep. James Talarico (D), who definitely eats meat and definitely likes females, has a three-point lead over Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R). TPOR reports that Talarico is favored 47% to Paxton’s 44% among likely general election voters.

The totally unbiased people at The Hill reported that the poll sampled voters in the wake of Paxton’s defeat of Sen. John Cornyn (R) in the Texas primary election.

Nearly a third of the respondents who voted for Cornyn in the runoff indicated in the poll that they will support the Democratic nominee in the November election. A plurality — 44 percent — of these voters said they will now choose Paxton, and 23 percent were undecided, The Hill Reported.

The pollsters and The Hill, apparently, would have you believe that roughly 33% of Cornyn voters switched over to Talarico. Before taking this seriously, take a step back and ask yourself if this makes any sense. Chances are, if it doesn’t make sense to you, then it doesn’t make sense.

Texas is a solidly red state. Cornyn, while seen as a RINO and a squish by many conservatives, is still largely regarded as very, very far to the right of Talarico. On his campaign website, Cornyn bragged that he had a “more than 99.2% voting record with President Trump.”

Do the people who voted for that sound like the kind of people who would now vote for a man-child who is working very hard to try to convince voters that he eats meat and is a heterosexual male? He even has a girlfriend, according to the latest reports.

The New York Post reported that she is “Brianna Menard, 30, (who) describes herself as a ‘committed vegan,’ yoga buff and cat mom who likes ‘dancing the night away’ at local gay bar Cheer Up Charlies in Austin.”

 Mysterious Strangers Pile Out of Sewer Manhole, Prompts Police Investigation

Seven men climbing out of a New York City sewer sounds like the setup of a bad joke.

Authorities, however, aren’t laughing.

A viral video swept the internet this week, courtesy of The Flatbush Scoop, showcasing that exact setup.

“A bizarre and developing situation is unfolding on McDonald Avenue between Kings Highway and Avenue S, near Kosher Corner Supermarket,” the viral post, sitting at over a million views, read.

“Video shows approximately six individuals emerging from a manhole at around 2:00 a.m. after reportedly spending nearly two hours underground — with the cover closed and a person standing watch nearby.”

Indeed, the video did appear to show just that — though it appears that there were seven individuals, not six, to ultimately emerge from the sewer.

Initially, the video showed what appeared to be that aforementioned spotter wearing a white shirt, standing by a trio of vehicles. He then walked over to the manhole in question and appeared to give some sort of signal.

At that point, seven individuals all crawl out of the sewers, with the first one physically moving the manhole cover near the cars.

Even more bizarre, several of the men then immediately began to strip down, and the video cut out shortly thereafter.

For obvious reasons, the internet had a field day with this.
