Secret Trial of Pfizer RSV Vaccine Killed Two Infants in the 1960s — Their Families Just Sued the U.S. Government

The families of two Black infants who died during a 1960s experimental RSV vaccine trial have filed a federal lawsuit against the U.S., alleging government researchers enrolled the babies in a dangerous medical experiment without their parents’ knowledge or consent, The New York Times reported.

The lawsuit, filed May 22 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, alleges the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other researchers, in 1965 and 1966, subjected dozens of infants — most or all of them from low-income Black families — to testing of Pfizer’s Lot 100 experimental vaccine for respiratory syncytial virus, or RSV.

Two infants, Victor Marcellus King and Ross Otto Hambrick, later died after developing vaccine-associated enhanced respiratory disease (VAERD), a severe respiratory illness caused by the vaccine.

VAERD occurs when a vaccinated child who never had RSV is exposed to the virus and develops a more severe case of RSV than they would have if they hadn’t received the vaccine.

The suit was filed by Sharlette Hambrick and Darius King, acting as representatives of the estates of their deceased brothers. They allege federal researchers failed to obtain informed consent from the children’s parents, withheld critical information about prior vaccine failures, and continued the study despite mounting evidence that the vaccine was causing severe reactions in participants.

The complaint also alleges that the tissue samples from the babies who died were later used to develop the RSV vaccines and monoclonal antibody shots that have been approved in the last several years — providing a financial boon for drugmakers.

“Medical research in the United States has a long, troubled racial history,” the complaint states, comparing the alleged conduct to other notorious examples of unethical experimentation involving Black Americans, including the Tuskegee Syphilis Study and the exploitation of Henrietta Lacks.

The infants’ families were unaware the babies had been subjected to the experiment until a reporter from Undark magazine contacted them while investigating the story in 2023.

The reporter found the babies’ names in a doctor’s government-issued laboratory notebook and other paperwork from the clinical trial, the Times reported.

In a conversation between Peter Mandelson, during his time as ambassador, and Secretary of State for Work and Pensions Pat McFadden, days after a punishing election defeat in May 2025, the pair discuss internal debates within the governing Labour Party. Reflecting on the mood, McFadden messaged Mandelson to say he had observed a “lot of manoeuvring here this week… Doesn’t feel good for Keir”.

Responding, Peter Mandelson, while he apparently enjoyed significant influence from Washington over the workings of the British government back home, led with criticism of Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, and said: “Keir is not leading from the front… does he even realise? The [Parliamentary Labour Party, I] gather is in mutinous state”. McFadden replied in turn: “Yes. Every meeting I have is ‘who can we tax in order to pay benefits to others’. They’re asking the wrong questions”.

This revelation of the state of the most senior Labour ministers by a consummate insider is politically radioactive for Labour, given it confirms some of the very most damaging accusations made about it by its political rivals; that its rapacious appetite for tax revenue to fund the welfare state is in part a result of open borders and government failures, while at the same time destroying the economy.

Many people believe Europe has a higher standard of living than the United States. This belief is typically based on several commonly cited arguments, including crime, social welfare systems, healthcare, and transportation infrastructure.

Comparisons between Europe and the United States often focus heavily on government-provided benefits while paying less attention to differences in income, taxation, purchasing power, housing affordability, employment opportunities, and consumer choice. Europe is also frequently discussed as a single entity despite significant differences between countries.

Europe consists of between 44 and 50 countries, depending on the definition used. The most common geographic definition counts 44 sovereign states, while broader definitions that include microstates and transcontinental countries such as Russia and Turkey, as well as countries like Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, place the total closer to 50.

As an example of how economically diverse Europe is, the richest country, Luxembourg, has a GDP per capita, or average income, of about $140,000 to $160,000 per year, while the poorest country, Moldova, has a GDP per capita of about $8,000 to $10,000.

Supporters of the European model point to universal healthcare, social welfare programs, public transportation, and lower crime rates as evidence of a superior standard of living. These comparisons often overlook higher wages in the United States, lower taxes, larger homes, higher rates of vehicle ownership, and the tradeoffs and advantages associated with different approaches to healthcare and transportation.

Crime is another frequent point of comparison. Many Europeans falsely believe school shootings are a major cause of death in the United States. At the same time, they ignore the fact that parts of Europe are extremely unsafe and that much of Europe has higher levels of theft, pickpocketing, muggings, home invasions, and other categories of crime. Furthermore, European cities that have allowed waves of migrants and asylum seekers from North Africa and Africa have seen sexual crimes and rape increase dramatically.

Healthcare is also central to the debate. Europe is often praised for universal coverage, but wait times in many countries are extremely long, and patients frequently require prior authorization before accessing specialists or advanced treatments. Quality also varies dramatically between countries. At the same time, the majority of Americans are covered through employer-sponsored plans, government programs such as Medicare and Medicaid, or private insurance.

Social welfare systems and transportation infrastructure are also commonly cited as European advantages. Supporters highlight government benefits and extensive public transportation networks.

Calif.: Fire damage identified on mail-in ballots in L.A. ahead of primary elections

Fire damage was identified on a number of mail-in ballots from a drop box in Los Angeles, according to the Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (RR/CC).

In a Sunday press release, the RR/CC said “staff identified a limited number of Vote by Mail ballots that appeared to have sustained fire-related damage inside an Official Ballot Drop Box at the Department of Public Social Services-Civic Center.”

“Preliminary information indicates the incident was isolated and involved a small number of ballots, as it occurred between the most recent scheduled collection and the following morning’s retrieval,” the release stated.

It added that staff had filed a report with local police and would fully cooperate as the investigation continued.

The office also related a separate incident on Sunday morning when vandalism was discovered at the Cesar E. Chavez Park voting center in L.A. County, though it claimed that voting operations were not disrupted.

“Voting is a fundamental right, and Los Angeles County remains committed to ensuring every eligible voter can cast a ballot safely and confidently,” said L.A. County Board Chair and First District Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, per the release.

“Any attempt to vandalize election facilities, damage voting materials, or interfere with the voting process is unacceptable. We take these incidents seriously and will continue working with election officials and law enforcement partners to protect voters and uphold the integrity of our elections,” she continued.

The RR/CC also said it was working to identify the voters potentially affected by the incidents.

“Voters whose ballots may have been impacted by the Drop Box incident will be contacted directly and provided information about available options, including replacement ballots if necessary,” the office stated.

Sunday’s announcement comes just ahead of California’s June 2nd primary elections, which include the highly contested gubernatorial primary race.

MS NOW’s Ali Velshi, during a recent segment, gave an insane take on America’s upcoming 250th anniversary, insinuating that Americans should have “conflicting feelings” about celebrating the Fourth of July this year because of slavery. 

Velshi, a Kenyan-born Canadian citizen who just got his US citizenship in 2015, felt the need to lecture Americans about “racial dynamics” and attack our history.

“Anniversaries are imperfect records of the thing which is being celebrated,” the America-hating foreigner.

“In America’s case, anniversaries often gloss over the racial dynamics underlying much of America’s history and politics, issues that remain unsolved because America has never actually fully reckoned with its racist past and its original founding sin of slavery.”

Velshi went on to tell viewers of the failing news network that he feels “deep unease” celebrating “our so-called democracy,” because of… “unresolved racial politics.”

A number of states are continuing to gerrymander their congressional maps ahead of the midterm elections, with the explicit effect of taking away political power on black Americans,” he continued.

Kamala Harris’s LGBTQ+ Pride Month Message: ‘Ongoing Fight’

Former Vice President Kamala Harris released her annual LGBTQ+ Pride Month message on social media, calling it an “ongoing fight” for equality.

The failed presidential candidate took to X and Instagram on Monday, the first day of June, to recognize Pride Month while the Trump administration ignored it for the second year in a row. 

“Pride is joy. Pride is courage. Pride is a celebration,” Harris captioned photos of herself adorned with rainbow-themed LGBTQ+ merchandise. “And Pride is the ongoing fight to ensure every person can live as their authentic self.”

She continued, “This month and every month, we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and all those continuing the fight for equality.”

“Happy Pride!” Harris concluded. 

While former President Joe Biden and federal agencies including the Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services posted Pride messages in June during the previous administration, there has been a noticeable lack during Trump’s second term. 

Popular retailers have also reduced their LGBTQ+ marketing since the Biden administration, with Target no longer appearing to carry Pride items for children.

California Legislators Shriek: ‘Stop Nick Shirley!’

Graham Platner slams articles over his alleged ‘sexting’ as ‘journalistic malpractice’

Democrat candidate for United States Senator from Maine Graham Platner accused media outlets that had reported on his alleged “sexting” scandal as “journalistic malpractice.”

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, he specifically called out the The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) and The New York Times (NYT), which had reported on the scandal on Saturday.

“The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times ran stories without any evidence besides the gossip from a former staffer…I’m sorry, that’s frankly journalistic malpractice,” Platner stated.

According to reporting by both outlets, Platner’s wife had told the campaign about messages she had discovered of her husband “sexting” with multiple women, despite the couple having been married since 2023.

Current and former officials working on Platner’s campaign had confirmed the exchanges, according to the NYT. One current official reportedly said the conduct had stopped before the launch of his Senate campaign.

A former campaign senior aide, Genevieve McDonald, claimed that Gertner had reached out in 2025 about her husband’s alleged behavior, the NYT reported.

Per media reports, Gertner talking about feeling betrayed by an unnamed campaign staffer in a statement provided by the Platner campaign.

“I trusted this person with the most private chapter of our lives — the early days of our marriage before any campaign was on our mind — and I am deeply hurt by her betrayal and the invasion of our privacy,” Gertner said.

In a Saturday video statement posted to Platner’s social media campaign account, Gertner said she found the willingness to spread gossip “shameful.”

“It makes me really angry, disappointed. And I find it really shameful that there’s a group of media outlets and people who are willing to spread gossip instead of talking about real issues that Graham is running on,” she said.

Belgium: 9 Migrant Teens Walk Free After Being Found Guilty of Repeated Gang-Raping 14-Year-Old Belgian Schoolgirl

In a verdict that has ignited righteous fury across Belgium and beyond, nine migrant minors from cultures alien to Western Civilization have been convicted of the repeated gang rape of a 14-year-old Belgian girl in Kortrijk will serve no prison time whatsoever.

Instead, according to reports from the Belgian press, youth court handed down slaps on the wrist—probation, community service, and counseling—exposing once again how globalist immigration policies and a broken justice system prioritize offenders over the safety of native, law-abiding citizens.

The attacks, which unfolded in a secluded forest during the 2024 Easter holidays, have left the victim’s life in ruins, while the perpetrators, many from North African and Somali backgrounds, face little more than a brief interruption to their routines.

The horror began in early April 2024 in Kabouterbos, a wooded patch squeezed between the E17 highway and a decaying social housing estate in Kortrijk. The girl’s then-16-year-old boyfriend lured her there under false pretenses, only for his group of migrant friends to ambush and gang rape her.

What followed was not a one-off crime but a calculated nightmare repeated over four days, with the victim being coerced into returning twice more for further violations by the same pack.

Court records confirm the assaults occurred between April 2 and April 6. The girl endured at least two rapes and multiple other sexual abuses during three separate incidents. Smartphones captured the depravity, with footage gleefully circulated on Snapchat among the group, turning the young teenage girl’s private trauma into public spectacle.

A source close to the investigation described the exploitation in stark terms: “The girl was loaned out and raped several times and in different ways.” This was no impulsive act but a systematic betrayal, enabled by the boyfriend’s repeated deceptions and the complicity of his circle.

After the third ordeal, the terrified 14-year-old finally summoned the courage to report the crimes to police. Investigators quickly identified 11 suspects, all male and aged 11 to 16 at the time. One boy, just 11 years old, was deemed too young for juvenile court proceedings. Another suspect was cleared after deeper scrutiny, leaving nine to face justice.

Those nine appeared before the juvenile court and were unanimously found guilty of rape, as reported by VRT on Friday. Seven received a mere 30 hours of mandatory community service each, a token penalty that mocks the severity of their brutal crimes.

The former boyfriend, identified as the instigator, received two years of strict conditional release. He must adhere to a guidance program focused on sexuality and relationships, maintain school attendance, and observe a complete contact ban with the victim.

Though briefly held in a closed institution after the initial complaint, he will not return there unless he violates his terms. Another youth was ordered into the identical sexuality and relationships program.

A third faces mandatory drug treatment as part of his lenient disposition. None will see the inside of a detention facility, despite the premeditated and repeated nature of the violence. The victim’s lawyer, Elise Standaert, painted a harrowing picture of the toll on her client during the marathon court session that stretched an entire day.

“It was extremely traumatic for her to see all the suspects again,” Standaert said. “Her daily life has been completely destroyed; she is no longer the same teenager she was back then.” Standaert continued, her voice underscoring the human cost: “She has gone through hell multiple times and will carry this trauma with her for the rest of her life.”

The girl has been provisionally awarded €15,000 in damages, a mere pittance, with a court-appointed expert tasked to assess further compensation for her shattered existence. Even the boyfriend’s own defense counsel, Thomas Vandemeulebroucke, acknowledged the gravity while attempting to soften his client’s role.

“He didn’t mean to lure her along, it originated from a certain group dynamic,” Vandemeulebroucke claimed. “My client deeply regrets what happened.”

Vandemeulebroucke also highlighted the family background, noting the parents were “wealthy people who have tried to give their son a good upbringing.”

He added a broader societal observation: “The parents don’t understand how this could happen. It also strikes me that suspects of such crimes are becoming younger and younger. That is very disturbing.”

One defense attorney for a suspect of Somali origin, Kelly Decaluwé, expressed unprecedented shock after 15 years in practice. “These are horrible facts,” she stated.

“The question is how it is possible that these children have lost all sense of norms. What should we do with this? How are we going to solve this?”Decaluwé framed the case as a challenge for the entire nation: “It is a question that should be asked not only to the juvenile judge but also to society as a whole. I have not yet experienced such facts in my 15-year career.”

Local authorities were quick to voice dismay when the allegations first surfaced. Kortrijk Mayor Vincent Van Quickenborne described the acts as “crappy” with “no words” to capture their horror.

Speaking both as a politician and “as a father of three young children,” he admitted awareness of the investigation but offered little beyond words of condemnation.The initial response to the crimes saw ten migrant minors arrested.

Four were placed under house arrest, while six were detained in a young offenders’ institution. Three of those detained were later released on conditional bail following early hearings, foreshadowing the ultimate leniency.

This case is not an isolated tragedy but a predictable outcome of unchecked mass immigration and multicultural experiments that have strained Belgian communities to the breaking point. Neighborhoods like the rundown social housing area near Kabouterbos have become flashpoints where cultural clashes erupt into violence against vulnerable locals.

Massachusetts Sues UnitedHealthcare Over Alleged $100 Million Fraud

Massachusetts sued UnitedHealthcare on May 29, alleging the company defrauded the state’s Medicaid program by making seniors appear sicker than they were to secure higher payments.

The company contracted with MassHealth to provide a Senior Care Options—which combines Medicare and Medicaid benefits into one plan—for seniors aged 65 and older.

UnitedHealthcare allegedly received more than $100 million in fraudulent payments from MassHealth between 2015 and 2025, Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell stated in the complaint.

UnitedHealthcare, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group, said the complaint is “meritless and doesn’t accurately describe our Senior Care Options program” in ‌a statement emailed to The Epoch Times.

The legal complaint alleged UnitedHealthcare inflated payment rates in three ways.

Upcoding

Massachusetts paid UnitedHealthcare a per-member, per-month rate for each senior enrolled in the plan based on UnitedHealthcare’s assessments of the member’s health conditions.

UnitedHealthcare allegedly labeled members as having behavioral health disorders such as depression or anxiety, or substance use disorders to gain higher reimbursement rates, according to the complaint, when the members had no diagnosis or treatment on record for such conditions.

An analysis by the attorney general’s office revealed that nearly 30 percent of UnitedHealthcare’s 2014 through 2024 behavioral health assessments lacked any matching medical claims to support the mental health diagnoses reported to the state.

Keeping Overpayments

The insurer’s internal reviews identified that many members were incorrectly placed in the highest and most expensive level of care despite not qualifying for it, according to the lawsuit.

While the company eventually downgraded these members to lower-paying levels, it allegedly failed to inform the state of the prior errors or return the extra money it had already collected.
