These Are The Five States Leading America’s Data Center Boom

Most of the rapid growth in new data center capacity is happening in established (“incumbent”) markets – places like Virginia, Texas, Oregon, Ohio, and Iowa, while new or smaller states (“emerging markets”) are starting to attract data center development, though on a smaller scale so far.

Goldman analysts, led by Hongcen Wei, cited new current project schedules from Aterio data that showed US data center capacity is projected to reach 46 GW by October 2025, marking a 37% year-over-year increase. He found that most of this increase comes from incumbent markets. 

Here are the key takeaways from the report:

  • Top states (Virginia, Texas, Oregon, Ohio, Iowa) account for 7.6 GW of the 12.4 GW added year-to-date.
  • Virginia remains dominant with 33% yoy growth, while Texas and Georgia lead in acceleration, each up 57% yoy.
  • 31 states have added capacity in 2025 (versus 22 in 2024), highlighting broader national expansion, though most new entrants remain modest in scale.
  • PJM (Mid-Atlantic), ERCOT (Texas), and the Southeast (mainly Georgia) together account for 64% of new US capacity.
  • TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) is the least competitive region due to power constraints.

Looking ahead:

  • Another 4 GW of capacity is expected by year-end 2025, primarily from top markets.
  • Beyond that, 63 GW in new projects are announced for the next few years.
  • Rapid growth in data centers is expected to push major US power markets – CAISO, MISO, and PJM – toward critical tightness in coming years.

Data center buildouts are entering hypergrowth (read “circle jerk“).

Where Mental Health Problems Are Most Prevalent

Over the past few years, a lot of progress has been made in accepting and understanding mental health problems.

Having long been seen as a sign of weakness, mental health issues in their many varieties and severities have become much less of a taboo.

The pandemic, which left many people feel isolated, powerless or overwhelmed, accelerated that trend, as it not only caused a spike in symptoms of anxiety or depression, but also led more people to open up about their problems.

As Statista’s Felix Richter shows in the chart below, based on data from a Statista survey, more than 4 in 10 U.S. adults reported that they experienced symptoms of mental health problems, such as stress, anxiety or depression in the 12 months preceding the survey, making an open discourse about mental health issues all the more important.

As the chart shows, the prevalence of self-reported mental health problems varies greatly across countries, suggesting that people in some countries, e.g. China or Japan, may be more hesitant to open up about mental health or simply less likely to identify certain problems as mental health issues.

Oregon National Guard Chief Brig. General Vows to “Protect Protesters” Targeting ICE Facilities — Disobeying a Lawful Order from the Commander-in-Chief

Oregon National Guard Chief Brigadier General Alan R. Gronewold is facing mounting backlash after declaring his troops would be tasked with protecting protesters at federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities, a direct contradiction to the orders of President Donald Trump.

The week-old remarks, made before an Oregon Senate subcommittee, resurfaced on social media this week as a federal appeals court weighs whether Trump can deploy the Guard to Portland to quell ongoing anti-ICE protests.

During an appearance last week before the Oregon Senate’s Veterans and Emergency Preparedness Subcommittee, General Gronewold attempted to reassure state lawmakers about what the National Guard’s role would be if federalized under Title 10 orders.

“I don’t want to speculate on what level of training they will receive or what they will be authorized to perform as far as rules for the use of force. The Title X headquarters will provide that training to them.

It is my understanding, however, that protective crowd control will be one of the things they’re trained on, and I will provide my advice to the Title X commander. The Oregon National Guard men and women serve two purposes: one, to defend America, and two, to protect Oregonians.

So, by serving in this mission, they will be protecting any protesters at the ICE facility. That’s my desire.

Now, to answer your question — “full force” is not a doctrinal term that the Army uses, so I’m not sure exactly what that means, and I don’t want to speculate as to what level of force they will be allowed to use.”

Weird: Tim Walz Returns to Lie About Americans’ Freedom to Take the COVID Vaccine

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is the gift that keeps on giving. Kamala Harris opted to tap him as her running mate last year because she worried about picking a guy like Pete Buttigieg, who is gay, and how voters would respond to having him on the ticket.

Instead, Harris picked a guy who was, and remains, a weirdo, a failed governor, and a serial liar.

Tim Walz not only lied about his service record and a slew of other things, he’s back to lie about COVID and flu shots.

If Walz and his fellow Democrats had their way, you would not be free to decline those vaccines. President Biden tried to mandate the vaccines for most Americans via OSHA rules, and Walz didn’t object.

He’s also lying — the COVID and flu vaccines are available to everyone, in all 50 states, if the patient and their doctor agree it’s in their best interest to do so.

The CDC’s sign-off Monday doesn’t mean people younger than 65 are barred from getting a Covid vaccine — they still can do so, after having consulted with doctors or pharmacists.

Kash Patel Fires FBI Agents Involved in Tracking GOP Senators’ Phone Calls

FBI Director Kash Patel has fired agents involved in tracking phone calls of eight Republican senators and a congressman as part of former Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation of President Donald Trump.

Communication records belonging to GOP Sens. Lindsey Graham (SC), Marsha Blackburn (TN), Ron Johnson (WI), Josh Hawley (MO), Cynthia Lummis (WY), Bill Hagerty (TN), Dan Sullivan (AK), Tommy Tuberville (AL), and Rep. Mike Kelly (PA) were handed over to Smith’s “Arctic Frost” team after they subpoenaed major phone companies in 2023, Breitbart News reported.

That fact was unknown to the public until this week, with Patel saying he discovered the files hidden in a “lockbox” that was placed in a “vault” in a “cyber place where no one can see or search these files.”

“You put it in there when you want to hide it from the world, and that takes the authorization of the attorney general and the director of the FBI,” Patel said in a Tuesday interview on Fox News. “So not only did they weaponize this law enforcement, but when we got in there, and when I got in as the FBI director, from my experience as Russiagate, I knew where to look and what rooms to open and what doors to kick down, and that’s what we did.”

“We found this information to expose the politicization by Jack Smith and the prior Department of Justice,” he added, before revealing that he fired agents who facilitated the secret investigations into U.S. lawmakers:

I mean, just think about it, eight sitting United States senators. Phone records were gathered and subpoenaed through the grand jury process, and it was buried and wormholed. It was the hope that no one would find it. So we’re just scratching the surface here, but accountability is coming. You’re darn right. I fired those agents. You’re darn right. I blew up CR-15, the public corruption squad that led the weaponization at the Washington Field Office. We’re just warming up, but we are running our investigations to the ground. We are finding every single person involved. We will not leave a single room locked.

Hawley, one of the senators who had his phone calls tracked by the Biden administration’s DOJ, called Smith’s subpoena “an abuse of power beyond Watergate, beyond J. Edgar Hoover, one that directly strikes at the Constitution, the separation of powers, and the First Amendment.”

A Criminal Illegal Alien Superintendent Is The Inevitable Result Of Leftists Controlling Public Schools

So it turns out that the Des Moines superintendent Ian Andre Roberts had an even longer rap sheet than previously known. According to the most recent release of records from DHS, Roberts had been violating immigration and firearm laws for close to three decades.

Understandably, most people will wonder how such a fraud can find himself at the head of a large urban school district in a state as ruby-red as Iowa. As executive editor Joy Pullman has explained, this is simply the result of a leftist regime systematically taking over the American public education system: “[Roberts is] the inevitable product of a system the Left has built for rewarding people for pushing hateful, un-American ideology at public expense and punishing excellence.” Sure enough, it was a school board headed by Michelle Obama’s former chief of staff Jackie Norris in a closed-door meeting that hired Roberts.

There is every reason to believe these people knew that Roberts was a fraud, as Norris’s pathetic plea for “radical empathy” suggests, but hired him anyway. He was just too good to not be true: a smooth-talking black man with a Caribbean accent who boasted an extensive academic and leadership background and had even represented Guyana in the 2000 Sydney Summer Olympics.

And, if Vice President Kamala Harris (a DEI-hire herself) had won the presidential election last year instead of Donald Trump, it is almost certain no one would have bothered investigating Roberts now. After all, he became superintendent in spring 2023 during the Biden administration, and he led the district for two whole school years before anything happened to him. Does it really matter that he wasn’t qualified?

Well yes, it does matter, and that’s the real scandal here. Being a superintendent is not some harmless sinecure, but a powerful leadership position. While one might assume that Roberts just smiled for photos, cut ribbons for new playgrounds, and sat in meetings discussing plans to help at-risk kids like he once was, his job allowed him to do far more than this.

As a superintendent, Roberts had the final say in district and campus leadership and how the district’s money would be spent. He decided who became principal, curriculum director, athletic coordinator, chief financial officer, and a slew of other important positions. He also weighed in on vendors for things like school lunches, busing, educational software, school textbooks, and more.

Obviously, this all has a direct impact on district policy. Starting with Roberts himself, all leadership would now be hired based on skin-color, sexual orientation, and most of all politics. Over time, this produced an anti-meritocratic system where academic rigor, student accountability, a talented teaching staff, and fiscal responsibility were jettisoned in favor of the opposite.

Trump floats dropping Spain from Nato alliance

US President Donald Trump suggested on Oct 9 the Nato alliance should weigh throwing Spain out of its membership ranks over a dispute about the Western European nation’s lagging military spending.

Members of the US-backed security alliance agreed in June to sharply increase their military spending to 5 per cent of gross domestic product, delivering on a major priority for Mr Trump, who wants Europeans to spend more on their own defence.

But Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said at the time that 

he would not commit to the 5 per cent target, calling it “incompatible with our welfare state and our world vision”.

At an Oval Office meeting with the leader of Nato’s second-newest member, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Mr Trump said European leaders need to prevail upon Spain to boost its commitments to the alliance.

“You people are gonna have to start speaking to Spain,” Mr Trump said. “You have to call them and find why are they a laggard.”

He added: “They have no excuse not to do this, but that’s all right. Maybe you should throw ’em out of Nato, frankly.”

A federal judge on Thursday issued a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) blocking President Trump’s National Guard deployment in Chicago.

US District Judge April Perry, a Biden appointee, said Trump’s troop deployment violates the Posse Comitatus Act as well as the 10th and 14th Amendments.

President Trump mobilized Texas National Guard Troops and sent them to Chicago to protect ICE agents from violent far-left Antifa terrorists.

“The National Guard’s mission in Chicago is to protect federal lives and property that are facing constant criminal assault. The guard protecting DHS is activated under *federal control* and therefore, like any federal troops, can emanate from any state if such resources prove necessary to DHS (the way troops are pulled from any base). They are operating as a federal force protecting federal assets,” White House Advisor Stephen Miller said.

Texas Congressman Lance Gooden hilariously trolled failed Chicago Mayor Johnson for being both outraged over Texas busing illegals to his city AND outraged over Trump sending the National Guard to his city.

Mia Hughes, a Senior Fellow at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute and director of the advocacy group Genspect Canada, spoke at a closed-door Genspect event in late September titled “The Bigger Picture Conference” in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

In her speech, Hughes described how woke ideology hijacked science within gender medicine by infiltrating psychiatry, endocrinology, and surgery, reshaping modern medicine as we know it. She warned of the dangers of mistaking ideology for evidence (or “science”) and urged a return to compassion, scientific clarity, and the courage to confront uncomfortable truths.

Here’s what she told the audience: 

Back in the 1980s, a small group of trans activists hatched a plot: to take an absurd, illogical overvalued belief—that being transgender is innate, natural, healthy—and force all of society to live in a fictional world built on it.

Given the sheer audacity of that plot, there must have been people who said it couldn’t be done. But if such voices existed, they were ignored. And the activists pressed on until they succeeded in nothing less than reshaping reality itself.

And they didn’t just persuade people to politely look the other way.

They rallied good, decent people to march in the streets demanding that teenagers sacrifice their health, their fertility, and their sexual function in the name of this belief.

They convinced governments to write laws based on a non-existent, fictional concept.

They enlisted well-meaning teachers to poison the minds of a generation with absurd lies.

And they drove doctors to amputate healthy organs and call it medicine.

If they could succeed in creating that false reality, then surely we can succeed in restoring truth.

Because our cause is not built on lies but on logic and reason. Not on ideology but on sound ethical principles. Not on harm but on healing.
