Bill de Blasio Seems to Endorse Straight up Fascism, and His Idea Is Absolutely Insane

What’s so scary about the left in this country is that they truly have no lines. Every new authoritarian epiphany sounds better in their ears than the last. There’s no pause to consider how ridiculous what they are suggesting is. It’s just full bore “progress” all the time, unintended (and intended) consequences be damned.

Let’s be frank about what de Blasio is saying he wants to do here. He’s asserting that he wants the police, which he controls, to show up at the doors of people who did something non-criminal but that he deems “hateful” in order to scare the intimidate them. Of course, what qualifies as “hateful” is malleable, and in New York, that can literally mean anything that doesn’t fit left-wing orthodoxy. Call someone by their real pronoun and not one they “prefer?” A cop could show up and lecture on the finer points of “tolerance.”

Dem Rep. Sanchez: Not ‘Appropriate’ for Journalists to See Inside Border Facilities Holding Children

Representative Linda Sanchez (D-CA) Thursday on CNN’s “Newsroom” that it was not appropriate for journalists to be inside centers that are housing the surge of unaccompanied children crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.

Anchor Poppy Harlow asked, “My last question is so transparency … All of our reporters down there have been asking nonstop to get into these facilities where Alejandro Mayorkas said are not meant for children. Are you concerned over the lack of transparency?”

Sanchez said, “I will tell you under the Trump administration, members of Congress were not allowed inside these facilities.”

Harlow interjected, “But that doesn’t mean anything now, respectfully congresswoman. Clearly, you were upset about that lack of transparency. Are you concerned about this lack of transparency?”

Sanchez said, “Sure. Well, again, when you ever have the numbers and the facilities appropriate for children, but because of COVID protocols, you have to have social distancing. So they are trying to process children as quickly as they can, and, no, these detention facilities at the border were not meant for children. Children are meant to be in licensed facilities. But because of the numbers and because of the social distancing that is required, they are doing the best that they can. I don’t necessarily think that it is appropriate for journalists to be inside centers that are not permanent places for children, that children are not placed there permanently. They are processed out of those facilities as quickly as possible and as quickly as the facilities will allow.”

Harlow pressed, “Some of them are being held there longer than they are legally supposed to be.”

How California Is Embracing Mandatory Racial-Injustice Study for All of Its 1.7 Million High Schoolers

The latest curriculum, however scaled back, still shares similarities with an earlier, rejected draft that a top state official said failed to comply with state law, and the Los Angeles Times editorial board characterized as a jumble of “politically correct pronouncements” that feel like “an exercise in groupthink, designed to proselytize and inculcate more than to inform and open minds.”

When all is said and done, the material emphasizing whites’ subjugation of non-whites is not a conventional textbook subject, but an ideology with an activist political agenda. Revisions may never satisfy parents and teachers who believe public schools shouldn’t be in the business of teaching kids how to develop a “social consciousness” or using class time to pinpoint a student’s intersectional identity to determine where they fit on a hierarchy of power.

At the same time, ethnic studies activists are furious that their efforts at promoting social justice, and centering “voices of color” are being diluted by, as they put it, power structures such as “whiteness,” Zionism and assimilationism.

Judge Rules Some Ghislaine Maxwell Details Are Too ‘Sensational and Impure’ to Be Revealed to the Public

A federal judge in Manhattan on Thursday ruled on a series of redactions proposed by Ghislaine Maxwell and prosecutors regarding a compilation of transcripts submitted under seal by the government last month.

After reviewing arguments from both sides, U.S. District Judge Alison J. Nathan allowed most of the government’s redactions to remain in place over Maxwell’s objections while also adding several additional redactions at her request.

Maxwell’s legal team in January filed 12 motions requesting that the court, among other things, dismiss all of the charges relating to her alleged role as a recruiter of young girls for infamous and since-deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The government responded in February with an “omnibus memorandum of law” opposing Maxwell’s motions, all of which were filed under seal pending rulings on the redactions.

The government argued that its redactions were required in order to “protect the integrity” of its ongoing criminal investigation into Maxwell and to protect the privacy interests of third parties. Judge Nathan granted most of the government’s requests, reasoning that the redactions were based on legitimate interests to overcome the presumption of public access to judicial documents.

Biden Bashes People Who Are Disinclined to Get the Vaccine, Suggests They Aren’t Patriots

“I just don’t understand this sort of macho thing about, “I’m not gonna get the vaccine. I have a right as an American, my freedom to not do it,”‘ Biden said during the interview with Stephanopoulos. ‘Well, why don’t you be a patriot? Protect other people.”

He doesn’t understand the concept of freedom, really? Yes, Joe Biden, people have the freedom not to get the vaccine if they don’t want it. If you don’t understand that, you’re missing a rather critical part of being an American. There are people on both sides of the aisle who are not inclined to get the vaccine, that’s up to them and Biden really is the last one who should be questioning anyone’s patriotism.

Maybe, speaking of patriotism, he should demonstrate a little of it, by showing concern over releasing illegal aliens who have the virus into the country, as he has reportedly been doing? As Fox’s Peter Doocy explained during a press briefing exchange with Jen Psaki last week, 9% of those released in the Brownsville area, 204 people, were released into the country with the virus. Maybe that could be just a bit problematic? And it’s completely inconsistent with the narrative he’s pushing on the virus.

Seems that’s more concerning than that some folks might decide that for a variety of reasons they might not take the vaccine.

Subversive Education

Last year, the Wake County Public School System, which serves the greater Raleigh, North Carolina area, held an equity-themed teachers’ conference with sessions on “whiteness,” “microaggressions,” “racial mapping,” and “disrupting texts,” encouraging educators to form “equity teams” in schools and push the new party line: “antiracism.”

The February 2020 conference, attended by more than 200 North Carolina public school teachers, began with a “land acknowledgement,” a ritual recognition suggesting that white North Carolinians are colonizers on stolen Native American land. Next, the superintendent of Wake County Public Schools, Cathy Moore, introduced the day’s program and shuffled teachers to breakout sessions across eight rooms. Freelance reporter A.P. Dillon obtained the documents from the sessions through a public records request and provided them to City Journal.

At the first session, “Whiteness in Ed Spaces,” school administrators provided two handouts on the “norms of whiteness.” These documents claimed that “(white) cultural values” include “denial,” “fear,” “blame,” “control,” “punishment,” “scarcity,” and “one-dimensional thinking.” According to notes from the session, the teachers argued that “whiteness perpetuates the system” of injustice and that the district’s “whitewashed curriculum” was “doing real harm to our students and educators.” The group encouraged white teachers to “challenge the dominant ideology” of whiteness and “disrupt” white culture in the classroom through a series of “transformational interventions.”

Parents, according to the teachers, should be considered an impediment to social justice. When one teacher asked, “How do you deal with parent pushback?” the answer was clear: ignore parental concerns and push the ideology of antiracism directly to students. “You can’t let parents deter you from the work,” the teachers said. “White parents’ children are benefiting from the system” of whiteness and are “not learning at home about diversity (LGBTQ, race, etc.).” Therefore, teachers have an obligation to subvert parental wishes and beliefs. Any “pushback,” the teachers explained, is merely because white parents fear “that they are going to lose something” and find it “hard to let go of power [and] privilege.”

Leader of Viral ‘Birds Aren’t Real’ Movement Swears He’s Not Joking

It’s no secret that conspiracy theories are spreading like never before, thanks to the internet. Whether they’re dangerous and toxic ideologies like QAnon, or outlandish claims that are incorrect but less threatening (think: the flat-Earth theory), conspiracies have become part of the fabric of daily life in America.

One “theory” that seems intentionally nonsensical but is nonetheless gaining traction on social media is the “Birds Aren’t Real” movement, which is built around the claim that, well, birds aren’t real.

The unsubstantiated theory alleges that, between 1959 and 2001, the government killed off all birds and replaced them with surveillance drones. It’s such a bizarre idea that it almost seems like a parody of other conspiracy theories—and it very well might be, despite what the movement’s apparent leader insists.

According to its website, the Birds Aren’t Real movement started in the 1970s, although its frontman, Peter McIndoe, told Newsweek that it started in the ’50s—an inconsistency that might be a sign from McIndoe that the whole thing is one big gag.
