Native Plant Restoration Is A Booming Business

Driving through upstate New York, you may notice new ‘native plant’ nurseries springing up. The business is booming.

It seems plants who are native to an area, plants that have an evolutionary history to the region, are much better for the environment as they are built to live in a certain habitat and don’t require irrigation systems and chemicals to keep them alive.

The negative impact on pollinators across the North America, insects that help pollinate other plants, from fertilizers and pesticides, has been substantial. This is a national security issue, a food security issue, and it is global.

Hence the national movement to remove invasive, unnatural plants from habitats, promote the use of native plant species, and restore natural plant habitat.

“People are starting to realize that native plants are the foundation of our ecosystem and they require less resource inputs than ornamental plants,” said one source from a university in upstate New York.

“It’s projected to be the next big green industry. Federal programs made it through the DOGE effort and New York state is leading the way in this effort with some of these funds. There is a bottleneck where consumers and restoration practitioners, landscapers are having a hard time sourcing native plants. The demand for the product is there.”

“This is what’s driving the native plant nursery industry.”

Another charge of influence peddling was dismissed, so no prison term was imposed.

While Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez goes around the world posing as a statesman in NATO and EU forums, back home, his party, his inner circle, and even his family are endlessly plagued with corruption scandals and investigations.

Less than a month ago, reports arose about Sánchez’s wife’s grift prosecution: Spanish PM Sánchez’s Wife, Begoña Gomez, Can’t Leave the Country While Standing Trial for Corruption

And today (14), David ‌Sánchez, Pedro’s brother, was convicted of nepotism and administrative misconduct and banned from holding public office for nine years.

“The ruling deals a fresh political blow to the Socialist premier, whose government and ​inner circle have faced corruption investigations and scandals over the past two years. Last ⁠month, a former close aide to Sánchez was sentenced to 24 years in prison in a ​separate corruption case.

David Sánchez was accused of benefiting from an appointment tailored to him because of ​his family connection to the prime minister, who when the job was awarded had just been elected leader of the Socialists when they were still in opposition. The prime minister has dismissed the case as part of a politically ​motivated campaign driven by the far right.”

The Badajoz court found that the position was created without administrative need, serving only the PM’s brother’s personal interests.

“The defendants ‌engaged ⁠in a grossly arbitrary exercise of power with the sole aim of favoring specific individuals,” the ruling said, adding that one of the posts was later modified to accommodate David Sánchez’s interest in opera.

The court dismissed the charge of influence peddling, which could have carried a prison sentence. Right-wing pressure ​groups had sought prison ​time for Sánchez, while ⁠prosecutors requested the case be dismissed.”

Man jailed in Northern Ireland for burning fake mosque in bonfire

Bonfire season in Northern Ireland is a centuries-old tradition. Enormous towers of wooden pallets, decorated with the symbols of whoever you oppose, lit on fire at night. Catholics burn Union Jacks and pictures of the King. Protestants burn Irish tricolours. Politicians, royals, and foreign flags all get their turn.

Jewish symbols have appeared on bonfires. So have Israeli flags. It is, Ezra Levant noted on Monday’s episode of The Ezra Levant Show, essentially a free-speech zone that has existed for hundreds of years.

This year, a bonfire in Moygashel, County Tyrone displayed a replica mosque. The words on it read: “Secure our borders. End the threat of radical Islam.” The Arabic lettering, Ezra noted, referenced fascism — a deliberate attempt to distinguish radical Islam from the broader religion.

The man who built it is now in jail.

Brian Conrad Neil, 56, was arrested, refused bail, and appeared in the dock of Dungannon Magistrates’ Court in handcuffs. He has been charged with incitement to hatred. District Judge Barney McElholm declared that those who placed the replica mosque on the bonfire had “an agenda full of hate and bigotry towards others.”

The bail refusal was particularly striking to Ezra.

“Everyone gets bail, especially in Ireland,” he said. “Accused murderers sometimes get bail — but not a lad who put a fake mosque on a bonfire.” The two reasons to deny bail, he noted, are flight risk and ongoing danger to the community. Neither applies to a man who built a parade float.

The double standard is hard to miss.

Henry Nowak and the tyranny of state ‘anti-racism’

You thought the Henry Nowak atrocity couldn’t get any worse. You thought you’d heard every horrifying thing about this barbarous incident, when the state manhandled a dying boy who’d been stabbed and falsely branded racist. You thought Henry’s hoarse, agonised cry of ‘I can’t breathe’ was as bad as it could get. Think again. Now we discover Henry said something else, too. In his last moments, as he gagged on his own blood, he made a pained plea. ‘I am not a racist’, he whimpered.

Those five words should haunt our collective conscience. For they confirm that this kid was forced to confront not only the physical horror of his own impending death, but also the psychological horror of being tarred as racist. He was made to beg for his moral reputation alongside his mortal existence. He faced two death sentences that night: the literal death sentence of Vickrum Digwa’s knife attack, and the social death sentence of being damned as a racist. A white lad using his last breaths to bat back a malicious slur of racism – what a grim monument to the tyranny of woke racialism.

The new revelations came at the weekend, following the release of the full trial transcripts. The horror of Nowak’s death is well known. In Southampton, on the night of 3 December 2025, the 18-year-old student was stabbed four times by Digwa, a Sikh. Digwa then falsely accused Nowak of making racist jibes and attacking him. The cops arrived and took the word of the knifeman over the writhing, fatally injured teen. They cuffed Nowak. He told them he’d been stabbed. ‘I don’t think you have, mate’, came the staggeringly inhuman reply of one of the state’s brainwashed heavies.

Millions have watched the bodycam footage of Nowak’s pitiless arrest. We’ve witnessed the full savagery of state wokeness, as cops drag and cuff a teenager as he pleads ‘I can’t breathe’ (nine times) and ‘I’ve been stabbed’ (four times). What we didn’t hear, though, was what Henry cried shortly before the arrival of the police. A witness told the court he heard a young man in distress say: ‘I am not a racist.’ Picture the raw terror of the scene: Henry had been stabbed at this point – four times – yet he felt compelled to devote his flagging energy to convincing onlookers he was not racist scum.

Ex-Canada MP arrested after police seize 439 guns and antique cannon from his home

Ex-Canadian MP Inky Mark has been arrested after police found a trove of guns, ammunition and an antique cannon along with thousands of dollars in cash in his home.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) seized 439 firearms from his house near Dauphin, Manitoba, last week during a firearms trafficking probe. At least three of the guns were illegally trafficked, RCMP said.

Mark, 78, has been charged with firearms trafficking and several other gun-related offences, including possessing unauthorised devices and unsafe storage, which officials say threaten public safety.

Manitoba follows Canada’s strict federal gun control laws, but its provincial government actively opposes extra restrictions.

A cultural appreciation for recreational shooting runs deep in the region.

Mark, a former Dauphin mayor, was arrested during a police search on 7 July.

He appeared on a dozen charges in court last week and was released from custody with conditions.

“The illegal trafficking of prohibited weapons is a serious offence that threatens public safety,” RCMP Assistant Commissioner and Manitoba Commanding Officer Scott McMurchy said on Monday.

“We thank the many RCMP officers who are working on this case for their tireless efforts in targeting individuals who are trafficking these dangerous and illegal weapons and bringing them to justice.”

The investigation began in March when police were notified of firearms charges in the US against another Dauphin-area man.

That investigation led RCMP to find and seize firearms allegedly purchased by Mark, which police said were “never lawfully transferred”.

At least three firearms are believed to have been illegally trafficked and one firearm had its serial number tampered with, officials said. They also found more than C$300,000 (£158,000) in cash at the home.

While the motive is unclear, Manitoba RCMP Cpl Barry Kirby said at a news conference on Monday: “We know he’s a firearm collector, but that’s really all that we know.”

Mark was elected mayor of Dauphin in 1994 and lost a re-election bid in 2010.

In parliament, he represented a constituency now known as Dauphin-Swan River-Neepawa from 1997 until 2010, when he resigned from the House of Commons.

He has been a member of the Reform Party of Canada, the Canadian Alliance and a Conservative, and unsuccessfully ran for the seat again in 2015 as an independent.

The Lockdown Disaster Must Not Be Forgiven: Massive European Study Vindicates Sweden’s Common-Sense Pandemic Response

We’re now rapidly approaching the six-year anniversary of “15 Days to Slow the Spread.”

That policy has to have been one of the most disastrous in world history, created by “experts” who took all established pre-pandemic planning documents and tossed them out the window at the first opportunity.

It was a policy based on inaccurate reports out of China, which claimed that their lockdowns effectively stamped out transmission of covid-19 within a matter of days.

It was a policy that ignored solid research – from established epidemiologists like Dr. Jay Bhattacharya – which found that the coronavirus had already spread much more widely than previously realised.

It must be noted forever that lockdowns and the associated mask mandates, vaccine passports and school closures continued in some places for several years. The ramifications of those wretched policies will be quite literally endless. It’s not an exaggeration to say that lockdowns, our policies and responses have quite literally changed the course of world history.

One would think that there would definitely be a concerted effort to understand whether such policies were effective or not. Whether approaching respiratory viruses with authoritarian crackdowns on businesses and schools was necessary to save lives.

Yet six years later, there’s unfortunately very little interest in examining those questions. And when you understand the data from Sweden, you will see exactly why.

Study on Swedish Approach to Covid Shows Lockdowns Didn’t Work

A study published in PubMed examined the Swedish approach to covid policy, relative to its European counterparts, primarily because Sweden did not rely on lockdowns in response to the pandemic, but instead used “voluntary and sustainable mitigation recommendations,” the study says.

Despite a “majority of Swedes” supporting those policies, “this approach faced rapid and continuous criticism.”

That criticism came primarily from public health figures such as, surprise, surprise, Dr. Anthony Fauci, who criticised Sweden repeatedly for going against the herd.

“You’ve compared us to Sweden, and there are a lot of differences,” he said during a Senate Committee hearing in September 2020. “But compare Sweden’s death rate to other comparable Scandinavian countries. It’s worse. So, I don’t think it’s appropriate to compare Sweden with us.”

“If you look at Sweden, they are in some trouble,” Fauci claimed on Good Morning America in late 2020. “They are starting to see that their death rate is much higher than the surrounding countries of Norway, Denmark, and Finland … They’re starting to see now that they’re having to rethink some of the things they did.”

This was, of course, not true. They did not “rethink” their strategy of light-touch recommendations over lockdowns. And comparing Sweden exclusively to its neighbours is an absurd misdirection that no other country was subjected to. But Fauci, obviously never one for honesty or intellectual integrity, represented many public health figures who were anxious to see Sweden fail.

Yet as this research shows, reality was precisely the opposite.

The study explains that Sweden received criticism for “not legally enforcing mask-wearing in public spaces,” as well as keeping schools open and “being too permissive” with its policies. All the things that we were told were necessary to stop covid and save lives. The researchers tested these statements using excess mortality data and stringency indices to compare Sweden across the whole of Europe, not just its neighbours.

They chose excess mortality because, unlike covid-specific measurements, it’s less subject to bias, differences in testing, and counting, and individual definitions of covid-caused outcomes. It also accounts for deaths that “could potentially be indirectly attributed to the negative effects of strict lockdown measures and the overall strain on healthcare systems, leading to reduced access to healthcare for other diseases, among other factors.”

Turns out that what they discovered was that Sweden vastly outperformed the rest of Europe from 2020-2022, with outcomes that were remarkably similar to the other Nordic countries.

“Among 42 European countries, the cumulative excess all-cause mortality from January 2020 to December 2022 ranged from 46 (Luxembourg) to 1,080 (Bulgaria) deaths per 100,000 inhabitants, with a median of 351/100,000,” they write. “In Sweden, the excess mortality rate of 158/100,000 was among the lowest, ranked 37th among 42 countries, and not very different from other Nordic countries: Norway (129), Denmark (97), and Finland (228).”Björkman A, Gisslén M, Gullberg M, Ludvigsson J. The Swedish COVID-19 approach: a scientific dialogue on mitigation policies. So why did Sweden underperform in 2020 relative to its neighbours? Likely due, as the study explains, to “mortality displacement due to low all-cause mortality in 2019,” as well as “poorly organised older adult care structures.”

What does this mean? Essentially, there were significantly fewer deaths from all causes in Sweden in 2019, meaning there were more extremely elderly people alive in 2020 who were susceptible to severe outcomes from covid. This is reflected in the massive age gradient with covid-associated deaths. In Sweden, “~40% of the covid-19-associated deaths were among patients in nursing homes,” the study says, “and 67% of all covid-19 deaths were among individuals above 80 years of age, representing 10% of all deaths in that age group.”

For younger age groups, covid was mostly a non-issue. “covid-19 deaths below 50 years of age represented only 1.2% of all covid deaths, including 21 individuals below 20 years of age, mostly with underlying co-morbidities, representing 1% of all deaths in that age group.”

Effectively, covid ravaged extremely elderly people, while those under 50, despite the lack of mask mandates and lockdowns, saw very limited impact.

They Divided Us to Build a Cage: Why the Elite Are Terrified of Our Mutual Hatred for Mass Surveillance

For the better part of a decade, the ruling class and their corporate media lapdogs have executed a masterclass in divide and conquer. They have successfully weaponized social media algorithms to ensure that you hate your neighbor over issues that, statistically speaking, will never impact your daily life. The machine thrives on outrage, moral signaling, and tribal affiliation, turning entirely niche issues into existential worldview clashes while the state quietly builds a panopticon in our backyards.

We have been conditioned to tear each other apart over superficialities. Whether it is a statue of a long-dead politician in a city park or corporate HR departments mandating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion trainings, the establishment hands down the scripts and the masses predictably read their lines.

Look at the absolute hysteria surrounding transgender athletes in college sports. If you measure the outrage by the sheer volume of screaming online, you would think this is the most pressing crisis in human history. Yet, as NCAA President Charlie Baker recently testified, out of more than 510,000 collegiate competitors, there are fewer than 10 known transgender student-athletes.

Millions of people are devoting countless hours of their fleeting lives to wage digital warfare over an issue that affects less than 0.002 percent of the athletic population. The same goes for the compelled use of pronouns and the endless online battles over misgendering. Trans-identifying individuals make up barely one percent of the population, meaning the average adult can go months or years without ever encountering a situation where pronoun enforcement dictates their reality.

Yet corporate HR policies and viral confrontation videos keep the flames fanned, pitting individual conscience against institutional demands while the people in power laugh all the way to the bank. These issues are specifically designed to keep the masses at each other’s throats. As long as the left and the right are busy fighting over who uses which bathroom or whether a piece of bronze should be melted down, they are completely ignoring the boot on both of their necks.

But a profound shift is happening, and the establishment is terrified. Despite the billions spent on propaganda to keep us divided, there is one undeniable issue that is bringing society back together: our shared disdain for the surveillance state. It turns out that making an argument for the government to track your every move, log your license plates, and listen to your conversations is pretty difficult to do without sounding like a complete tyrant.

Regardless of which flavor of freedom you prefer, the realization that the surveillance state is the enemy of all peaceful people is finally taking root. My account on Twitter/X is notoriously shadowbanned, artificially throttled by the algorithms to keep this exact anti-authoritarian message from reaching the masses. Yet, I recently posted a meme about a man destroying Flock safety cameras and pleading not guilty on the grounds that mass surveillance violates our fundamental rights.

Jack Smith’s Team Spied On 44 Lawmakers’ Texts, Built A Case On Them, And Misled Congress: Grassley

Former special counsel Jack Smith’s investigators blew past the Justice Department’s own privilege safeguards to directly access text messages between Trump White House officials and 44 members of Congress – then had the FBI match the phone numbers to lawmakers’ names, according to DOJ records released Tuesday.

Assistant Attorney General Patrick Davis told Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) in a letter accompanying the records that Smith’s team “bypassed the Filter Team and directly accessed these text messages.” The FBI then worked out which senators and House members had sent or received them, Davis wrote.

The filter unit existed for one purpose: to screen messages pulled from the National Archives for privileged material before line investigators ever laid eyes on them.

“All communication to/from the Filter Team must go through the Coordinator,” one internal protocol document states – adding that nothing was to reach the investigative team without a filter attorney’s sign-off.

The messages, sent between October 2020 and Jan. 20, 2021, ran between a bipartisan roster of lawmakers and Trump White House figures including chief of staff Mark Meadows, Dan Scavino, Ivanka Trump, Stephen Miller, Peter Navarro, now-CIA Director John Ratcliffe and now-FBI Director Kash Patel, the records show.

Sen. Ron Johnson Casts Doubt on Photo of Mitch McConnell in Hospital: Heard from a Source It ‘Was an Older Photo’

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) cast doubt on a photo shared by Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) of himself and his wife, former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, in the hospital, stating that he heard it “was an older photo.

During an interview on Real America’s Voice Bolling! with host Eric Bolling, Johnson was asked if he believed the photo of McConnell was recent. Johnson acknowledged that while he has not spoken to McConnell, who is reported to have been hospitalized since June 14, he heard from a source that it “was an older photo.”

“Now, Mitch McConnell. Can we talk a little Mitch McConnell too? Because I saw a picture that I’m not sure I believe is actually Mitch McConnell from the hospital,” Bolling said. “After what I’ve heard and what I’ve seen, do you believe Mitch McConnell is the one who said, ‘I’m okay, here’s a picture of my wife, Elaine Chao and I’ in that hospital bed?”

“I just heard from some other source, that was an older photo,” Johnson responded. “So, I really don’t know. I haven’t talked to Mitch. I certainly wish he and his family well, I hope he can recover. Listen, it’s sad to watch people age, no matter who that person is.”

Johnson later issued a statement on social media, warning people to “beware of clickbait” and to listen to the full interview, the Hill reported.

“Most importantly, I hope @SenMcConnell makes a full recovery and returns to the Senate,” Johnson added.

McConnell released a photo of himself and Chao in the hospital, and a statement expressing that he and Chao “have appreciated” people’s “well wishes” and questions.

“To my fellow Kentuckians, when you elected me to a seventh term and made me our Commonwealth’s longest serving Senator, you did so trusting that I’d keep showing up to fight for you every day,” McConnell said in his statement. “And over the past several weeks, Elaine and I have appreciated both your well wishes and your honest questions about what was keeping me away from the Senate.”

McConnell’s statement continued to share that his doctors confirmed he “didn’t break any bones or suffer a concussion.”

“I didn’t have a heart attack or a stroke,” McConnell added. “I don’t have any tumors or hemorrhages. But I was briefly unconscious and was taken to the hospital. While receiving excellent care over the past several weeks, I’ve also had to deal with a mild case of pneumonia.”

Largest US Power Grid Is 6.8 Gigawatts Short To Ensure Reliability On Historic Data Center Boom

The largest US power grid failed for a third straight year to secure enough future supply commitments to ensure reliability for the future amid a historic boom in data center demand.

PJM Interconnection, the largest US power grid (Regional Transmission Organization), which serves 67 million customers in 13 states and Washington, DC, said its auction to procure power for the year starting June 2028 fell 6.8 gigawatts short of what it will need to guarantee system reliability during demand spikes, in a statement released Tuesday. The shortfall is equivalent to almost seven traditional nuclear reactors.

The result ramps up pressure on a grid that’s home to Virginia’s Data Center Alley, the biggest concentration of data centers in the US, and has borne the brunt of criticism for the struggle to manage the AI boom and sufficiently protect customers from soaring costs. Attention now shifts to an emergency procurement mechanism later this year that aims to shift the burden of ramping up power generation to hyperscalers.

6.831 Megawatt Shortfall

PJM Interconnection today announced the results of its 2028/2029 Base Residual Auction (BRA), which secured 138,318 MW of unforced capacity generation (UCAP) and demand response to meet projected electricity needs for the more than 67 million people across 13 states and the District of Columbia, which fall under the RTO’s umbrella.

Regions under the Fixed Resource Requirement (FRR) acquired an additional 10,864 MW in UCAP, for a total of 149,182 MW in UCAP available to serve forecasted peak electricity demand, plus a reserve margin. UCAP represents a generation resource’s maximum output adjusted for its estimated ability to reliably perform at times of highest system risk. The capacity of the resources procured in the auction, plus FRR resources, is short of PJM’s reliability requirement by 6,831 MW, meaning that the committed supply is less than what would be required to meet the one-event-in-10-year reliability standard (and with electricity-guzzling data centers popping up almost daily these days, the one-event-in-10-year has become a daily occurrence).
