ASTROTURF: Company That Provides Paid Protesters Reports 400 Percent Increase as Trump Cracks Down on DC Crime

There have been quite a few protests in Washington, DC since Trump announced that he was going to crack down on crime in the city, but it’s hard to know if any of it is real or not.

A company that provides protesters for a price is reporting a 400 percent increase in demand.

Of course, the liberal media has been all to happy to report on the protests as if they’re completely organic.

A crowd rental company has seen a massive uptick in inquiries regarding its services in Washington, D.C., amid President Donald Trump’s move to federalize the police force in the nation’s capital.

“Right now, D.C. inquiries are up roughly 400% compared to the same period in 2024,” Crowds on Demand CEO Adam Swart told Fox News Digital, adding that the time period he is referencing is May to July 2024.

The company always sees a spike in requests during what Swart calls “high-stakes political moments.”

“A large share are focused on opposing Trump’s policies in Washington and raising alarms about government overreach,” Swart said. “We’re weighing those offers carefully – because while there’s truth in saying D.C.’s local government has been an abject failure in keeping citizens safe, there’s also a real danger in putting too much power in federal hands. That balance of power matters.”

Swart said the “vast majority” of people at political or advocacy events in D.C. are in some way paid.

“Most people don’t know this, but many protesters are literally on the payroll – Capitol Hill staffers from both parties are often expected to show up at rallies and protests on their own time,” he said. “So yes, most attendees are being paid or are there because it’s part of their job. That doesn’t mean they don’t support the cause – but it does mean these crowds aren’t as ‘organic’ as they appear on TV.”

MSNBC’s Scarborough: Dems Secretly Support Trump’s Federal Police Takeover

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough said Tuesday that numerous Democrats have privately expressed support for President Donald Trump’s decision to assume federal control of the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C.

Speaking on “Morning Joe,” Scarborough said he has heard from “so many” Democrats in recent days who believe the federal government should have intervened in the city’s policing long ago.

“This is a fascinating story because so many people have been calling me over the past couple of days, going, you know, like Washington, should have gotten involved years ago. This place is dangerous, it’s a mess, it’s a wreck and whatever,” Scarborough said.

“And then they’ll go on Twitter and go ‘this is the worst outrage of all time.’ Which I understand, it’s like people need to express their concerns about Donald Trump going too far.”

Left-wing dark-money megadonors, including George Soros, contribute $20M to groups funding protests against Trump’s DC crime crackdown

Several lefty, dark money organizations, including George Soros’, contributed more than $20 million to groups funding protests against President Trump’s crime crackdown in Washington, DC. 

Free DC, a “fiscally sponsored special project” of progressive nonprofits Community Change and Community Change Action, brought 150 demonstrators near the White House Monday to protest Trump’s plan to deploy National Guard troops in the district and federalize the city’s police department. 

“Do not obey in advance” and “Take up space” are among Free DC’s “guiding principles,” and the group urges supporters to “go outside at 8:00 PM and bang pots and pans, sing, chant, or make noise for five minutes” every night “of this occupation.” 

Free DC has scheduled multiple events since Monday’s anti-Trump protest, including a “Cop Watch Training,” suggesting further protests are planned amid Trump’s effort to make DC the “safest, cleanest and most beautiful cities anywhere in the world” – by ramping up law enforcement efforts and removing homeless encampments from public places. 

Community Change and Community Change Action, the groups bankrolling Free DC’s activism campaign, have been the beneficiaries of millions of dollars in donations from hedge-fund tycoon George Soros’ Open Society Foundations and Tides Foundation, and the dark-money Arabella Advisors network, according to an analysis shared with The Post.

MSNBC Contributor Claims He’s More Afraid of Climate Change Than Crime in Washington, DC

If you needed more proof that MSNBC is not a serious news network, you’re in luck.

During a recent appearance, frequent guest Anand Giridharadas tried to downplay crime in Washington, DC by listing the things he is more concerned about, such as climate change, losing his vote, whatever that means, and other imaginary problems.

At one point, he manages to throw in a concern about the middle class, which is funny because the left abandoned them years ago.

He says that there is a crime problem in DC but qualifies it as a small one and accuses Trump of being an authoritarian. How original.

ANAND GIRIDHARADAS: Crime is real. It is blown out of proportion. People are feeling much more unsafe than they statistically are—but the feeling matters. People deserve to be safe, but they also deserve to feel safe.

I think it is true that Democrats have sometimes ignored or lectured people, holding a spreadsheet of statistics. That said, it’s really important to be clear about what is going on here: a relatively small crime problem is being used for specific authoritarian purposes that we know and understand.

Let’s be clear—D.C. does have one really big crime problem, which was the January 6th insurrection incited by the current president of the United States. His first act in coming back was pardoning all the people who tried to overturn constitutional order in Washington, D.C.

When I go to D.C., I’m not afraid of losing my wallet so much as I’m afraid of losing my vote. I’m not afraid of losing my wallet so much as I’m afraid that my children’s freedom to breathe will be stolen in a world where climate change policy is nonexistent. I’m afraid that the future of middle-class people will be stolen by the very things you were talking about cutting—the safety net, Medicaid, rural hospitals.

Washington D.C. Police Chief Pamela A. Smith was humiliated earlier today after revealing that she apparently doesn’t know what the term “chain of command” means.

During a press briefing, a reporter asked Smith “Do you know what the chain of command is now?” referring to President Trump having deployed National Guard troops to the capital to restore law and order.

Smith looked puzzled and responded “What does that mean?”

How does a person get a job as a police officer, let alone Police Chief without knowing what that means?

Former Cap Police Chief publicly confirms Pelosi helped stage J6…

Nancy Pelosi is probably kicking herself over her most recent X post, because it opened a can of worms she never wanted spilled. But TDS got in the way, and she couldn’t help herself. In a desperate effort to smear President Trump’s plan to clean up DC’s deadly streets, Pelosi took to X and claimed that Trump “delayed” deploying the National Guard on January 6… a claim that instantly blew back on her, in a big way, dredging up an old debate about her role that day.

Of course, Pelosi is talking about President Trump’s big, beautiful plan to take back our nation’s capital from the inept liberal leaders who’ve let criminals run the show. Trump has deployed FBI agents and the National Guard to clean up the streets. This move comes as crime in DC is soaring. It’s so bad that police have been handing out AirTags to residents so they can track their cars when they inevitably get stolen.

DC Crime is ‘Down’? ABC News Anchor Says She Was Jumped, Coworker’s Car Was Stolen

ABC News anchor Kyra Phillips said Monday that she was assaulted just blocks from the network’s Washington, D.C., bureau within the last two years, adding to concerns over public safety in the nation’s capital despite official reports of declining violent crime.

Phillips shared her experience during a live broadcast, referencing multiple recent crimes in close proximity to ABC’s offices.

“We’ve been talking so much about the numbers and yeah, usually that’s how you play devil’s advocate, is you talk about, ‘Oh, well stats say crime is down,’” she said.

“However, I can tell you firsthand here in downtown D.C. where we work right here around our bureau just in the past six months, you know, there were two people shot. One person died literally two blocks down here from the bureau.”

She continued, “It was within the last two years that I actually was jumped walking just two blocks down from here. And then just this morning one of my coworkers said her car was stolen a block away from the bureau. So we can talk about the numbers going down, but crime is happening every single day because we’re all experiencing it firsthand while working and living down here.”

DC lawmakers try to reclaim control of MPD, National Guard after Trump invokes Home Rule

D.C. Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton and U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen announced plans to reintroduce legislation granting the District of Columbia full control over its National Guard and Metropolitan Police Department.

This move comes in response to President Donald Trump’s recent decision to assume control of D.C.’s police department and deploy the National Guard without consulting local officials.

The proposed District of Columbia Police Home Rule Act would repeal the president’s authority to federalize the Metropolitan Police Department, while the District of Columbia National Guard Home Rule Act would designate the D.C. mayor as Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard, aligning with the powers held by state governors.

“President Trump’s unprecedented federalization of the D.C. Police today and his activation of the D.C. National Guard without D.C.’s consent underscore the necessity of D.C. statehood,” said Congresswoman Norton.

“I’m Trying to Hold My Temper” – Race Baiting MSNBC Commentator TRIGGERED by Trump’s Crackdown on Crime in DC, Blames Obsession with Black Lives Matter and “Racial Politics” to Distract from Epstein Story

Eddie Glaude, an Ivy League critical race theory and African American studies professor at Princeton, went on MSNBC on Monday to condemn President Trump’s federalization of DC’s Metropolitan Police Department, blaming racism and Jeffrey Epstein for the move. 

“I’m trying to hold my temper,” Glaude told MSNBC’s Chris Jansing in response to the President’s comments during a press conference earlier. “I think there’s an ongoing argument that he’s having in his head with Black Lives Matter.”

It should be noted that in 2021, over 96% of suspects in Washington, DC homicides and nonfatal shootings were black, according to a National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform report.

“He really doesn’t really care about what’s actually happening in DC… because he’s not trying to get at the underlying root causes,” Glaude continued.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Trump announced on Monday that he is taking federal control over DC’s Metropolitan Police Department and authorizing the use of national guard troops to solve the “public safety emergency” in the nation’s capital.

Trump also called on Republicans in Congress to change the statutes to get rid of “no cash bail” and “some of the other things” that empower criminals in DC and other major cities across the nation.

“This city will no longer be a sanctuary for illegal alien criminals. We will have full, seamless, integrated cooperation at all levels of law enforcement, and we’ll deploy officers across the district with an overwhelming presence,” Trump said.

United States Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro went off earlier on the “young punks” that are terrorizing the city and revealed that minors are not even being prosecuted for violent crime but, instead, receiving a slap on the wrist and released back into the community.

Journalist Notes ‘Tone Deaf’ Disconnection Between Democrats and Reality on Crime in DC

Alex Thompson of Axios took apart the new argument from Democrats that crime in Washington, DC is down, noting that their approach is tone deaf.

He says that while Democrats point to statistics, their numbers don’t match the feeling of regular people in the city who do not feel safe.

A co-panelist then jumps in to say that this is very much like last year, when Democrats kept insisting that the economy was great, which didn’t match with people’s feelings.

“What’s striking is that national Democrats are not following Mayor Bowser’s lead on this, and that national Democrats have been insisting, ‘just look at the statistics. We have 30 year, 30 year low, you know, violent crime’…I’ve talked to Democrat strategists today that think that, you know, national Democrats saying, ‘look at the statistics’ is sort of a tone deaf way to react.”

“And it’s very much — isn’t this the exact same problem that Democrats had last year? ‘Look at the statistics! We promise you the economy is great’ while people are going, ‘it doesn’t feel great to me.’ That feels like a lot of this conversation around crime that you can point to statistics all day long that say, ‘hey, D.C. is safer this year than it was last year,’ but do people feel safe? Bottom line, if they don’t, they may be more okay with something that would otherwise be considered extraordinary.”
