House Committees Detail Harvard Ties With Chinese Entities In New Report

A report released by House committees on Aug. 13 alleged that Harvard University prioritized financial ties over American national security and received more than $600 million from China, the most of any U.S. university.

The report, released by the House Select Committee on China and the House Education and Workforce Committee, alleged that Harvard created a nonprofit called Harvard Global to circumvent federal requirements for disclosing foreign donations to higher education.

According to the report, Harvard Global initially stated on its website that it could serve as a “proposal applicant and awardee” for awards the university was unable to accept for legal or financial reasons. The nonprofit later removed the language after the committees sent Harvard a draft of the report.

“Harvard created an entity in a blatant attempt to get around federal foreign funding disclosure laws. That’s unacceptable, especially given Harvard’s history of failing to comply with these requirements,” Education and Workforce Committee chairman Rep. Tim Walberg (R-MI) said in a statement.

The committees identified 140 publications co-authored by Harvard-affiliated researchers and researchers affiliated with Chinese universities, including a “Seven Sons” university, the report stated.

The “Seven Sons of National Defense” is a group of elite Chinese universities directly subordinate to the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which regulates China’s defense sector.

The House committees alleged that Harvard-affiliated researchers have worked with “Chinese universities that, as a matter of policy, conduct extensive weapons research and development and hold top-secret security clearances with the PLA [People’s Liberation Army].”

The report cited a 2023 research paper on magnetic materials co-authored by a Harvard-affiliated researcher and a researcher at China’s National University of Defense Technology – which the U.S. government has placed on its entity list as a threat to American national security.

UK Left Blames Death of Ex-Cambridge Professor Arday on ‘Racism’, Media Scrutiny of Plagiarism Claims

British leftists have attempted to blame racism and media scrutiny for the untimely death of former Cambridge professor Jason Arday, who sensationally resigned last week amid plagiarism allegations and accusations of fabricating his backstory.

On Friday afternoon, Cambridge’s youngest-ever Black professor, Jason Arday, was found dead at a London address at the age of 41, just days after resigning from his post as professor of sociology of education amid swirling controversy and claims that he had engaged in plagiarism.

According to a Substack article last month from University of Ghent philosopher Nathan Cofnas, who was fired from Cambridge’s Emmanuel College in 2024 after expressing race-realist views on IQ differences, Arday’s thesis had been flagged by plagiarism-detection software.

It then emerged that Cambridge had been alerted to potential plagiarism in his thesis and in other papers by Plymouth Marjon University Emeritus Professor Dave Harris in 2023, yet the university only launched an investigation into the matter earlier this month.

London’s Daily Telegraph reported that it had “identified more than 100 passages that are identical or nearly identical to a 2009 PhD thesis by Paula Zwozdiak-Myers, a Brunel University student.”

On top of allegations of plagiarism, questions were also raised over Arday’s supposedly remarkable early life, as he claimed to have risen to the top of academia despite allegedly being unable to talk until the age of 11 and being unable to read or write until he was 18 as a supposed result of autism. Arday also previously boasted of having run 30 marathons in 35 days, partly while suffering from a leg fracture.

Amid the controversy, the previous media darling resigned on August 5th, claiming that the “relentless accusations, speculation and public commentary have taken a profound toll on me and on those I love.”

Less than ten days later, he was found dead. A spokesman for London’s Metropolitan Police said on Friday that his “death is being treated as unexpected, but is not believed to be suspicious.” The left-wing Guardian newspaper reported that the force is “understood not to believe anyone else was involved in the death.”

Despite limited information about the circumstances of his death, prominent left-wing figures were quick to blame the media scrutiny and “racism” for Arday’s death. For example, far-left Labour MP Nadia Whittome said that Arday was “hounded by the British press in a way that went far beyond scrutiny, was disproportionate, and simply would not have happened to a white, middle class person in the same position.”

Who Killed Jason Arday?

The strange and fascinating tale of the greatest con-man and fantasist of the twenty-first century has come to a macabre and shocking end. On Friday, Jason Arday was found dead in his London home. Police said that while his death was “unexpected, but is not believed to be suspicious,” which, whatever else it may mean, indicates that he wasn’t murdered, and apparently that he committed suicide. Yet the question of who really killed him, in a moral if not in a criminal sense, is still very much on the table.

Arday’s family immediately went into aggrieved victimhood mode, issuing a statement that clearly put the onus on those who had ridiculed and mocked Arday in the wake of the exposure of his truly breathtaking web of lies: “Jason was subjected to a campaign of sustained abuse” the family claimed, referring not simply to when his lies and plagiarism were exposed, but to his becoming the youngest black professor ever at Cambridge University four years ago. “The campaign of misinformation,” they added, “was too much for Jason, who was a gentle man and who always wanted to see the best in everyone.”

Wait a minute. Whose “campaign of misinformation”? Jason Arday was in no conceivable sense a victim of any “campaign of misinformation.” The only “campaign of misinformation” in the entire bizarre story of Jason Arday was the one he waged himself, in spinning what The Atlantic dubbed “a fabricated backstory filled with hard-to-believe details.”

Hard to believe is an understatement. The Atlantic provides a helpful summary: “He claimed to have been mute until age 11 and illiterate until 18, disadvantages that did not deter him from getting a Ph.D., which he earned by age 30. He claimed, too, that he had suffered from various medical conditions throughout his life, including autism, epilepsy, locked-in syndrome, testicular cancer, and a brain tumor. He was, by his account, a world-class endurance athlete who had racked up a variety of impressive feats, including running 600 miles in six days.”

Interestingly, The Atlantic then continues this list with examples of how rapturously the academic world received Arday, as if these were more examples of his “hard-to-believe” life story, when actually these are examples of how supposedly rational, evidence-based academics react when they encounter an obvious mountebank who just happens to confirm everything they want to believe about the world: “Then there were his academic accomplishments: Arday was billed as a once-in-a-generation talent, whose research in his field—the sociology of education—was ‘the best in the world,’ according to Hilary Cremin, the head of Cambridge’s faculty of education. He claimed to have received a book advance of 1.4 million in unspecified currency for his memoir, released this week by Simon & Schuster. It was a meteoric rise, until it wasn’t.”

Yes, and it was a meteoric rise, and a spectacular fall, not because of Arday’s talents, or lack thereof, or because of the skillfulness of his lies and plagiarism. In fact, he wasn’t actually very good at either. His purloining of other people’s work was clumsy and obvious, and his autobiographical claims strained credulity well beyond the breaking point for anyone who dared to ponder them rationally, but clearly, no one around him was willing to do so. He was more powerful than a locomotive? Okay. He could leap tall buildings in a single bound? Sure.

Insanity! Oregon State Requires Two Woke Courses Examining ‘Systems of Oppression’

In the latest college madness Campus Reform is reporting “Oregon State University requires undergraduate students who enrolled in summer 2025 or later to complete two “Difference, Power & Oppression” (DPO) courses as part of its Core Education curriculum.”

In other words, as far as Oregon State is concerned, they remain a woke outpost of political correctness.

This insane course is focused on WOKE indoctrination.

“In addition to “difference, power, and oppression,” participants in the DPO Academy learn about “feminist and critical pedagogies” and “fundamentals of curriculum transformation.”

Its yet to be explained how oppression and feminist studies help advance a student’s education and prepare them for the workforce.

The reason they give for requiring these courses is even more outrageous.

“The inequitable distribution of social, economic, and political power in the United States and globally is sustained through systems of oppression, which represent a variety of discriminatory institutional beliefs and practices,” the description states. “These beliefs and practices obscure the origins and operations of systemic oppression in daily life, such that this inequitable power distribution is assumed to be the natural order.”

Family of dead ex-Cambridge professor Jason Arday says he was victim of ‘misinformation’ campaign despite plagiarism allegations

The family of ex-Cambridge University professor Jason Arday, accused of plagiarism, blamed his unexpected death Friday on a “campaign of misinformation” that “was too much for Jason.”

Arday, 41, was found dead in his south London home just over a week after quitting his job over the allegations — as Cambridge announced it had launched an investigation.

“Jason was subjected to a campaign of sustained abuse for more than three years since he accepted the role of professor at Cambridge University by those who would leave no stone unturned in their quest to undermine him,” Arday’s family said in a statement Friday, according to the UK Guardian.

“The campaign of misinformation was too much for Jason, who was a gentle man and who always wanted to see the best in everyone,” they said. “We are in shock to have lost this amazing father, partner, brother, uncle and son.

They added, “We won’t comment further at this point beyond asking the press to leave us alone now, and to stop the campaign of harassment which has been waged against Jason and his family for too long.”

Jason Arday, ex-Cambridge professor accused of plagiarism, found dead in UK week after investigation launched

Embattled ex-Cambridge University professor Jason Arday was found dead Friday after quitting his job at the school over allegations that he plagiarized and lied about past jobs, according to a report.

Arday, 41 — the youngest ever black professor at the lauded university— was found “unresponsive”  in his south London home and later pronounced dead at the scene, according to the UK Telegraph.

“Sadly, a 41-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by officers,” a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police told the paper.

“At this time his death is being treated as unexpected, but is not believed to be suspicious. The case is being investigated by officers from the Met’s Central South Command Unit. A file will be prepared for the coroner.”

University of Cambridge Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Prentice expressed sympathy over his death Friday.

“We are desperately saddened to hear this tragic news. Our heartfelt sympathies go to Jason Arday’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time,” Prentice said in a statement.

The sociology professor, who became a poster boy for diversity,  resigned from the job on Aug. 5 as the school launched an investigation into accusations that he plagiarized parts of his Ph.D dissertation and lied about positions he held at other schools.

He cited an “unrelenting level of public scrutiny” as his reason for resigning.

“[It’s] simply the decision of someone who has reached the limits of what any person should reasonably be expected to endure,” he said at the time.

University where Charlie Kirk was assassinated allegedly cancels on memorial planned for anniversary of his murder

The public university which became the location of the Sept. 10, 2025, assassination of Charlie Kirk has reportedly withdrawn from a joint memorial event with the organization the late conservative political activist founded, Turning Point USA.

Utah Valley University (UVU) allegedly backed out of a Sept. 10, 2026, service planned to honor Kirk on the first anniversary of his assassination on its campus, The Cougar Chronicle reported, citing an anonymous source. The source claims Turning Point USA is seeking a new memorial location on short notice and is frustrated with the public university’s reported sudden withdrawal.

“Healing continues in different ways for each member of our university community as we approach September 10, the one-year anniversary of the tragic events surrounding Charlie Kirk’s death,” an Aug. 7 UVU email to students and employees said, The Cougar Chronicle reported. “To provide time and space for reflection, service, and connection, UVU will close operations [September 10].”

The UVU email invited the campus community to an annual Day of Caring volunteer event on Sept. 10, according to an Instagram post by the outlet.

The local nonprofit associated with the event, United Way of Utah County, describes its “corporate day of service” as an opportunity to “transform our classrooms, neighborhood parks, community gardens, and gathering places across our community,” according the organization’s website.

UVU, Turning Point USA, and Republican Utah state Sen. Dan McCay did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s requests for comment.

University Invites Terror-Loving Hasan Piker to Speak and Then The Normies Weigh In

Don’t bother to wonder, “What were they thinking?” There wasn’t much thinking going on at all at the Office of Public Lectures at my alma mater, the University of Washington in Seattle, when they asked Hasan Piker to speak on campus. 

Now, I know some folks don’t know who Piker is, and that apparently includes the people who asked him to speak on campus because the ghastly alternative is that they did know and hired him anyway. 

Recently, you’ve seen Piker on the arm of the possible future senator from Michigan Abdul El-Sayed, who’s the son-in-law of a Muslim Brotherhood true believer. He also campaigned with anti-Semite Zohran Mamdani in the New York City mayor’s race. He’s also making the rounds with Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate Francesca Hong, the bipolar, DSA commie. Huh, I wonder if she’s Muslim too. Someone should ask her other personality to double check.

Anyway, the university’s lecture series includes the usual womyn political journalists, climate catastrophists, and even a lecturer on midterms—no, silly, not university midterms, political ones. 

The announcement of Piker’s January 2027 lecture on the university’s website enthused, “Hasan Piker is not your typical political commentator. Armed with sharp analysis and an irreverent wit, he has built a massive daily audience on Twitch — and become an unlikely but authoritative voice for a generation hungry for honest political engagement.”

WOKE FAILURE: More Than 3,000 University of California Professors Demand Return of SAT After “Equity” Experiment Leaves Incoming Students Unable to Do Basic Math

The University of California’s grand experiment with “equity” in college admissions is running headfirst into an inconvenient reality: thousands of professors say incoming students are showing up without the basic academic skills needed to handle university coursework.

UC ditched standardized testing requirements in 2020, first going test-optional amid the COVID panic and then fully test-blind, all in the name of “equity.”

Regents claimed the tests discriminated against students of color and lower-income applicants, even though a faculty task force had found the opposite: the SAT and ACT were strong predictors of college success and actually helped identify talented disadvantaged students who might otherwise have been overlooked. The data was ignored. Ideology won.

Six years later, the results are in and they are catastrophic.

According to the LA Times, more than 3,000 UC faculty, including STEM professors and department chairs, have signed open letters demanding the return of the tests.

At UC San Diego, a faculty report documented a roughly 30-fold surge between 2020 and 2025 in incoming freshmen whose math skills tested below high school level.

Of those, about 70% fell below middle school levels, reaching roughly one in twelve students in the entering class. Professors report having to reteach basic arithmetic and algebra while trying to deliver college material.

Say, Didja Happen to Notice the Total Implosion of the Academic World and DEI Industry?

Jason Arday is no longer a professor at Britain’s prestigious Cambridge University, but that august institution is going to need some time to recover from the damage he has done. Indeed, the entire academic world, and the DEI industry as well, are reeling from Arday’s sudden and shocking unmasking and downfall. They had so very much invested in him as a living symbol of the success of their analysis, and of the correctness of their worldview, that now they are due for some serious soul-searching and reevaluation of their entire approach.

Will they engage in that thorough and honest self-examination that they so desperately need? Nah. They’ll just double down. In fact, they’re already doing so.

Up until his resignation under fire on Thursday, Jason Arday was a professor of Sociology of Education at Cambridge, becoming the youngest black professor in the university’s history. He resigned after evidence of his massive plagiarism and otherwise embarrassingly skimpy academic record circulated so widely as to be impossible to ignore, but this is much, much more than just a plagiarism scandal.

The question of how and why Jason Arday was hired at Cambridge, and at several other universities before that, raises so many important questions about the academic establishment that in a sane world, the credibility of that establishment would be destroyed forever. Alas, we do not live in a sane world.

That’s clear from the fact that Jason Arday is a completely ridiculous figure, as he himself indirectly acknowledged when he asked: “Wouldn’t it be the most ridiculous story ever told, if the boy who couldn’t read and write at 18 gets a PhD before he’s 30?” Well, yes, it would, and yet Jason Arday told it, and academics eagerly believed him.

Not only did Arday claim that he couldn’t read and write until he was 18. He also claimed that he couldn’t even speak at all until he was eleven years old. But once he got speaking, reading, and writing squared away, he took off with a bang, by his own account, running 30 marathons in 35 days and raising nearly 7.5 million dollars for various charities. He also says that he completed the last nine of those 30 marathons despite suffering from a fractured leg that had swollen “to twice its normal size.”

He also said that he had played professional soccer and snooker (a variation of billiards), that a man with a knife had threatened him at Cambridge, and that other racist yahoos sent his parents a pig’s head. There is, of course, no evidence of any of this.

And there is more still. He says that he had a brain tumor that caused him to lose his memory, and that he had to relearn everything. He had another brain tumor as well, and testicular cancer, and was in a coma. A gang of toughs beat him up, but he forgave them and argued against their prosecution, and ended up teaching and mentoring them.

Reading Jason Arday’s account of his own life is like reading a Superman comic book. He does everything and does it well. He overcomes adversity that would have destroyed a lesser man, no, five lesser men. He routinely performs feats and racks up achievements that most people don’t come close to attaining in a lifetime.

Jason Arday is, in short, a liar and a fantasist on a seismic scale. And whatever may have been his motivation for telling all these lies, and for committing plagiarism and all the rest, the larger question is why anyone believed him. His accumulated achievements are palpably unbelievable. If a white Christian in a traditional academic field had told all these lies in applying to Cambridge, he would have been thrown out on his ear.

Jason Arday, however, was young, black, and well-versed in the language of racial victimization. He reaffirmed the way the Cambridge dons and their peers wanted to see the world, and served as a living example of the correctness of their racial obsessions and commitment to DEI initiatives. He made them feel as if they were right, and for that, they were willing to overlook everything and give him the world.
