US Catholic diocese agrees $320mn sex abuse payout

A US Roman Catholic diocese in Long Island, New York has announced a massive bankruptcy settlement under which it will pay out $323 million to hundreds of alleged survivors of sexual abuse by clergy members.

The Rockville Center reached a preliminary settlement on Thursday with about 600 plaintiffs who claimed abuse by priests as children, according to a law firm representing the survivors.

The diocese had previously offered the survivors a $200 million settlement, which they reportedly rejected.

“After nearly four years we do have a global resolution,” Corrine Ball told US Bankruptcy Court Judge Martin Glenn in Manhattan. Glenn said the deal represented “enormous progress” and that it came “within a hair’s breadth” of failure.

Rockville Center will contribute $234.8 million to the settlement fund, while four insurers will contribute $85.3 million, a spokesperson for the diocese said.

Former Diddy Bodyguard AGAIN Claims Rapper Has Compromising Tapes of Elites

A former bodyguard of Sean “Diddy” Combs has once again claimed that the rapper, accused of sex trafficking and racketeering, has footage of elite politicians engaging in compromising activities.

The bodyguard, Gene Deal, says the secret footage was captured at Diddy’s various so called “freak off” parties, which are claimed to have involved victims being forced to engage in sex acts while Combs masturbated and recorded the events.

He made the repeat claim during a second appearance on The Art of Dialogue  podcast, suggesting that Diddy’s arrest is connected to corrupt city officials in New York.

“You know who else they were doing an investigation on during that whole time period? It was the mayor and the politicians in New York City,” Deal stated.

He added, “They turned around, gave him the key to the city. All the mayor’s people that he brought in here in New York City are resigning. They all resigned.”

Outcry Erupts as California Prepares to Release ‘Pillowcase Rapist’ Who Terrorized Dozens of Women

At some point, Americans must recognize that the people who run their institutions care nothing for their interests.

According to KTLA in Los Angeles, local officials have protested a decision to release a violent serial rapist into the Los Angeles County community of Juniper Hills.

Meanwhile, concerned residents of the nearby city of Palmdale, nestled in California’s Antelope Valley, have also objected to the planned placement of 73-year-old Christopher Hubbart, known as the “Pillowcase Rapist,” so near to their homes.

On Monday, Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger set forth her objections in a letter to Judge Robert S. Harrison of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, which has jurisdiction over the placement site.

“There are 25 homes within a square mile of the nominated site,” Barger wrote. “Single women and women with children live in those homes. A resident who identified herself as having been a victim of sex trafficking, a rape survivor, and now suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder would have to live near this Sexually Violent Predator in perpetuity, along with her daughter.”

Indeed, Hubbart’s diabolical history of violence against women should preclude him from ever enjoying even limited freedom.

“A man who has admitted to raping over 40 women and suspected of raping dozens more is not fit for release or community reintegration at any level. Christopher Hubbart belongs in a locked facility where there is no chance of him ever again harming another human being,” Barger concluded.

Hubbart’s 40 confessed rapes constitute by far the worst part of this story. But government officials’ unfathomable behavior makes for a shameful subtext.

According to the Antelope Valley Press, officials placed Hubbart in that same community ten years ago. In 2014, the serial rapist occupied a house in Lake Los Angeles, east of Palmdale, before violating the terms of his release and returning to Coalinga State Hospital.

Palmdale Mayor Austin Bishop echoed Barger’s objections.

Afghan Migrant Was Granted Swedish Citizenship After Raping Multiple Women, Can Not Be Deported As A Result

An Afghan migrant was granted citizenship after raping multiple women at the hospital where he worked. The unnamed 24-year-old arrived in Sweden as an “unaccompanied minor” in 2016, and committed the assaults while employed at the Akademiska Hospital in Uppsala.

The migrant worked at the hospital from November of 2019 to May 31 of this year, though worked his last shift as a healthcare assistant in August of 2023.

According to Samnytt, the suspect, who moved from Afghanistan to Sweden when he was 16 years old as an “unaccompanied minor,” is believed to have carried out his attack against his first two victims in December of 2021 while on shift at the hospital.

Hospital Human Resources Chief Olivia Laurent Wijkmark confirmed that the migrant’s role involved watching over patients who “require supervision,” suggesting they were particularly vulnerable.

Though the migrant is said to have no previous criminal history, police remanded the asylum seeker into custody last weekend under suspicion he had raped a third victim at a residential address in Uppsala last month. The Västmanland District Court explained in its remand order that “there are probable grounds to suspect the 24-year-old of three rapes.”

However, because the migrant had been granted Swedish citizenship in May of this year, he will not be deported, even if found guilty.

This is not the first time an Afghan migrant has avoided deportation in Sweden. As previously reported by The Publica, two Afghan migrants who received Swedish citizenship in 2020 were recently convicted of raping a young girl and filming the assault.

Despite threatening to murder the girl if she resisted them, Irshad Ahmad and Elham Bahram, both of whom are 16 years old, received light prison sentences and were able to avoid deportation.

In July, the Malmö District Court convicted Irshad of several disturbing crimes, including “aggravated rape against a child, offensive photography, child pornography, and additional assaults against two other girls,” but was only sentenced to 10 months in youth residential care for being a minor.

158 House Dems vote against deporting illegal migrants convicted of sex crimes

Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., on Wednesday called out over 150 of her Democratic colleagues for voting against her bill to deport migrants convicted of sex crimes.

The measure, titled the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act, would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to make those who commit sex crimes inadmissible and deportable. It passed the House Wednesday, but was not unanimously supported by all lawmakers.

“158 Left-wing members of Congress just voted against deporting rapists, pedophiles and murderers of women and kids,” Rep. Mace wrote via X.

Among those voting no were Reps. Maxwell Frost, D-Fla., Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., Cori Bush, D-Mo., Ayanna Pressley, D-Ma., Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., and Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.

Supporting the bill were 51 Democrats. All 215 present Republicans voted in favor.

Paedophiles: A Protected Class

Let’s dive straight in by quoting from some mainstream outlets.

Via The Guardian (31st July 2024):

How the Huw Edwards scandal might affect the BBC’s reputation

As it faces accusations of being caught out, corporation has decisions to take on pay and use of archive footage.

The former BBC presenter Huw Edwards’ guilty plea to charges of making indecent images of children has sent the corporation into damage limitation mode, raising questions about management’s handling of the scandal and the impact on its reputation.

“The BBC is shocked to hear the details which have emerged in court today,” said a spokesperson for the corporation. “There can be no place for such abhorrent behaviour and our thoughts are with all those affected.”

The 62-year-old, the face of the BBC’s coverage of national events including the funeral of the late queen and the coronation of King Charles and a main presenter on BBC One’s News at Ten, admitted to having 41 indecent images of children that had been sent to him at his request by another man on WhatsApp.

They included seven category A images, the most serious, showing abuse including penetrative sexual activity, two of which showed a child aged between about seven and nine.

Edwards, who is facing a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and will be sentenced on 16 September, was the BBC’s highest-paid newsreader, pocketing between £475,000 and £479,000 in the year to 31 March.

He continued to be paid, including receiving a £40,000 pay rise, despite not working for most of that time, having been suspended by the BBC since last July.

It is just unreal. Edwards continued to get paid the whole time throughout his suspension. With British taxpayer money. Should the British Broadcasting Corporation be renamed as the ‘Paedophile Broadcasting Corporation’ aka PBC?

It is sick.

Illegal migrant accused of raping Nantucket pre-teen child went free on bail before ICE could nab him

Local authorities in Massachusetts allowed an illegal migrant accused of raping a pre-teen child to walk free on bail — and never called immigration authorities, according to a shocking report from ICE.

Bryan Daniel Aldana-Arevalo, 28, was charged on July 26 on the wealthy island of Nantucket with one count of rape of a child with a 10-year age difference and two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, authorities said.

Three days later, he was released on bail by Nantucket District Court.

ICE officers ultimately arrested Aldana-Arevalo on Sept. 10 after tracking him down.

He is in federal custody awaiting his day in immigration court.

ICE Boston Field Office Director Todd M. Lyons called Aldana-Arevalo’s alleged crimes both “detestable and disturbing.”

“He represents a significant danger to the children of our Massachusetts communities. ERO [ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations] Boston will not tolerate such a threat to the most vulnerable of our population. We will continue to prioritize the safety of our public by arresting and removing egregious noncitizen offenders from our New England neighborhoods,” said Lyons.

Aldana-Arevalo made his way to the island of Nantucket after sneaking into the US from El Salvador.

Philippines police say ‘alarming details’ uncovered in new allegations against celebrity preacher

Police in the Philippines said on Wednesday more people had come forward alleging sexual abuse by celebrity pastor Apollo Quiboloy, pointing to what they called an alarming pattern of crimes by the wealthy, self-proclaimed “Appointed Son of God”.

Quiboloy, who is facing a raft of charges in the Philippines and the United States including sex trafficking, money laundering and child abuse, was arrested on Sunday after a weeks-long search of his church’s sprawling 30-hectare (74-acre) compound by more than 2,000 security personnel.

Quiboloy for years cultivated an image as a charismatic spiritual leader with divine powers, earning him millions of followers, a lavish lifestyle and powerful friends in the country’s political elite.

“These courageous victims have spoken up, revealing their harrowing experiences. The abuse they endured shows an alarming pattern of manipulation and exploitation,” Philippine police chief General Francisco Marbil said in a statement.

Those included girls as young as 12 and were part of a group of what police called “inner-circle pastorals” who have been crucial in uncovering the full extent of Quiboloy’s alleged crimes, Marbil added.

New York Cop Sentenced to Ten Weekends in Jail for Raping 13-Year-Old Girl

An upstate New York cop has been sentenced to serve just ten weekends in jail after pleading guilty to raping a 13-year-old girl.

Shawn Jordan, a 40-year-old former Rochester police officer, had the shockingly light sentence handed to him on Wednesday after making a plea deal concerning the 2022 rape of a South Bristol teen, WHEC reported

He will also be on probation for ten years and registered as a sex offender.

The mother of the victim “begged” Ontario County Judge Kristina Karle to send her now-15-year-old daughter’s rapist to prison, but Karle refused.

Ontario County Assistant District Attorney Kelly Wolford acknowledged that Jordan’s sentence is weak but justified the decision by pointing out that the girl will not have to relive the trauma by testifying in a courtroom.

“I’m not entirely satisfied with the sentence … but, ultimately, as a prosecutor, I have to weigh things like the impact of actually having to testify on the victim of this crime,” Wolford said. “And she’s a child, and she was going to have to face her accuser in the courtroom. And when I was given the opportunity to consider whether or not we’d take a guilty plea — absolutely, all day, in a circumstance like this.”

“I’m thankful that it’s over for the victim and her family, who were here today in court. It’s been a long process to get to this point but, ultimately, just thankful they can move on and start to heal,” the prosecutor added, according to the local outlet.

Jordan has reportedly been bragging about receiving such a lenient punishment for his heinous crime.

Founder of Surrey Pride, 40, who was patron of controversial LGBT+ education charity that encouraged toddlers to question their gender faces 37 child sex abuse charges including rape and voyeurism

The patron of an LGBT+ charity that encouraged toddlers to question their gender has been charged child sex abuse offences including rape.

Stephen Ireland is accused of raping a child, multiple sexual assaults, voyeurism, making indecent photographs of youngsters as well as plotting to kidnap a child.

The 40-year-old, who was listed as a director of Pride in Surrey until June, appeared in court on Thursday accused of committing the offences over a two-year period from August 2022 to last month.

He was joined in court by David Sutton, 26,  a fellow former Pride in Surrey volunteer who is accused of voyeurism, possession of extreme pornography, conspiracy to sexually assault a child and plotting to kidnap a youngster.

The pair, both from Addlestone in Surrey, were arrested on Wednesday and have since remanded into custody to appear in court again on September 12.

Ireland claims on his social media to be a patron of Educate and Celebrate, a LGBT+ charity which caused controversy after encouraging toddlers to question their gender.

The non-profit, which was set up by Dr Elly Cannon, said it had hoped to ’embed gender, gender identity and sexual orientation into the fabric’ of organisations including primary schools.

However, it mysteriously shut down at the start of 2024 after a series of controversies including pushing to replace ‘Sir’ and ‘Miss’ with gender-neutral terms and one of its other patrons – trans comic Jordan Gray – stripping off and exposing their penis during a TV skit.

When it closed in January, the charity’s chair of trustees Julie Bremner told MailOnline they would ‘continue our much-needed work through new projects’. There is no suggestion its closure was related to the charges faced by Ireland.

Ireland had been listed as a founder and director of Pride and Surrey, a charity which organises annual Pride marches and LGBT+ events in the county. Sutton is believed to have been a volunteer for the non-profit.

The organisation said it had suspended the pair after being made aware of a police probe into them in June, adding it was not aware what they were being investigated for until they were charged.

A spokesperson for Pride in Surrey told Surrey Live: ‘[We] have been made aware of an investigation that has been conducted by involving two former volunteers, both of whom have now been charged.
