Gay Dragons And Black Samurai: Woke Game Companies In Crisis As Consumers Walk Away

The entertainment sector has been at the core of the woke movement over the course of the last ten years, integrating Critical Race Theory, feminism, gay and trans propaganda, climate change hysteria, anti-gun rights messaging and pro-socialist rhetoric into their content at breakneck speed.  There has always been progressive politics in movies and TV, but this new social justice takeover was a highly coordinated tidal wave; a Blitzkrieg of hard-left ideology into every possible media space.

One group of consumers noticed the threat very early on – Gamers picked up on the leftist subversion of their hobby almost immediately in 2013.  They would go on to launch “Gamergate” in 2014, a movement to expose the feminist hijacking of games journalism and the hobby at large.  They were punished for their foresight, accused of “misogyny”, “bigotry”, “racism” and even terrorism, but they were correct.  There was indeed a far-left agenda to dominate the gaming world and extort companies into adopting social justice propaganda. 

The plan succeeded spectacularly.  Most corporations eventually folded and instituted DEI programs outright.  Gaming developers were some of the worst perpetrators and their products quickly became replete with woke indoctrination.  The one thing they didn’t count on, though, was a consumer revolt.

The Death of DEI? Defense Sec Pete Hegseth Reportedly Cancels “Identity Months”—“We’re not joking around—DEI is gone!”

President Trump’s newly confirmed Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth, is serious about putting an end to DEI. Today, a January 28 memo was leaked that discussed a “pause” on celebrating “cultural awareness months.”

Here is a portion of a memo that was reportedly being circulated at the DoD:

“Going forward, DoD Components and Military Departments will not use official resources, to include man-hours, to host celebrations or events related to cultural awareness months, including National African American/Black History Month, Women’s History Month, Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, National Hispanic Heritage Month, National Disability Employment Awareness Month, and National American Indian Heritage Month.”

Professor says monuments to American pioneers ‘reinforce white supremacy’

A University of North Dakota history professor who studies the American West believes monuments depicting the pioneers “reinforce white supremacy.”

In an interview this week with KJZZ Phoenix, Cynthia Prescott (pictured) discussed her research on pioneer monuments, including a book that argues the artwork promotes “white cultural superiority” and “gender stereotypes.”

Much like with Confederate monuments, the professor said America should re-examine artwork honoring American settlers.

“A lot of people have talked about Confederate monuments in particular, as being monuments that were put up in the late 19th, early 20th centuries for the purpose of enshrining a racial hierarchy. And through my work, I argue that Western pioneer monuments were doing very similar cultural work,” she told KJZZ.

Prescott, who chairs the History and American Indian Studies Department, said the purpose of pioneer monuments was “to reinforce white supremacy over peoples of color.”

FAA embroiled in lawsuit alleging it turned away 1,000 applicants based on race — that contributed to staffing woes

The Federal Aviation Administration is fighting a class-action lawsuit alleging it denied 1,000 would-be air traffic controllers jobs because of diversity hiring targets — as it was revealed that staffing levels were “not normal” at the time of this week’s deadly midair collision.

Complaints about the FAA’s hiring policies resurfaced after the American Airlines passenger plane and a Black Hawk helicopter crashed in Washington, DC, on Wednesday, killing 67 people in the country’s deadliest aviation disaster in almost a quarter-century.

Details of the litigation re-emerged, too, as Andrew Brigida, the lead plaintiff in the suit filed in 2015, suggested the federal aviation agency’s obsession with diversity hiring and inclusion had only ensured that an accident was likely to happen.

‘Triggered’ No More: Fed Tech Arm Deletes ‘Inclusion Bot’ Page After Musk Takeover

The federal government’s central computer programming office was one of the most defiantly left-wing units in all of government, but an Elon Musk lieutenant has taken the reins, and the unit — which engaged in far-left self-indulgence throughout the first Trump administration — is coming to heel.

Staff members have deleted code such as an “inclusion bot” that monitored employees’ messages to chide them for using “racist” terms like “peanut gallery,” a Daily Wire review of code changes showed. Also deleted was a “psychological safety” page warning web developers of the many ways they could be “triggered” while working their high-paid, white-collar jobs.

The General Services Administration’s (GSA) Technology Transformation Service (TTS), and its major component 18F, were once so hijacked by left-wing extremism that they risked the security of a million Americans by falsifying information in the belief that a legally-required security feature was racist, according to a government audit.

TTS/18F is a sister group of the U.S. Digital Service, a White House office that was repurposed as Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency. On January 24, GSA announced that Thomas Shedd, previously an engineer for Musk’s Tesla, was taking over TTS. Musk is expected to turn his personal focus to GSA, which handles government-wide functions such as real estate, soon.

18F’s logo on X still dedicates more space to the transgender flag than to its own name. But it tracks its code publicly on Github, and logs show the swift deletion of an improbable portion of its code dedicated not to its actual mission, but to flamboyant displays of internal virtue-signaling.

De-Wokeifying Government Is Easier Said Than Done

I haven’t seen Chuck Schumer so happy in months. There he was Wednesday, practically ready to burst into song while celebrating the Trump administration’s withdrawal of a memo ordering a federal spending freeze.

“Americans made their voices heard,” Schumer crowed. “Donald Trump rescinded the OMB order.”

Schumer was too giddy to tell the full story. On Monday, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) directed federal agencies to stop spending money, with exceptions for entitlements, defense, and direct support for individuals, until grants-in-aid programs were aligned with the president’s agenda.

The document’s broad language resulted in confusion. Democrats stoked the outrage. A federal judge enjoined the order. Before long, the White House rescinded the OMB directive—though not, said press secretary Karoline Leavitt, the president’s earlier executive orders on DEI and the Green New Deal.

For 45 hours this week, then, the Resistance was reborn. But just for a moment. The memo kerfuffle was quickly, and tragically, overshadowed by the collision over Reagan Airport, as well as by hearings for some of Trump’s controversial cabinet picks.

The memo dust-up was news precisely because it was so unlike the Trump’s administration’s first week in office. According to one tracker, at the time of writing, President Trump has issued 64 executive actions. They have been issued swiftly and smoothly. And they have left the Resistance in shock and Democrats stunned.

Trump’s orders are sweeping. They cover the economy, immigration, education, transgenderism, and beyond. They enact policies he laid out on the campaign trail. And they have a singular aim: removing progressive ideologies from the federal machinery.

Read their titles. “Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government,” “Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing,” “Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity.”

Two things bind the populist conservative coalition. The first is Trump. The second is opposition to wokeism: the catch-all of anti-Western, anti-American attitudes that sees the world through the victim-victimizer binary and privileges group membership over individual rights.

Fact Check: Yes, Obama and Biden Had FAA Hire People with Intellectual, Psychiatric, Severe Physical Disabilities

As someone whose father was in the aeronautics business — and who got passed on plenty of his wisdom from a young age — there are two things that I know, even as an unskilled observer, about airplane crashes.

The first is that there’s never one single thing to blame for disasters, especially when it involves airliners; so much redundancy is built into the system that numerous things have to go wrong, either simultaneously or over a period of time, for a crash to happen. The second is that nobody — nobody — knows what caused the disaster in the first 24 hours. (Anyone old enough to remember how wrong we were about TWA Flight 800 being bombed or hit by a missile?)

The collision between American Airlines Flight 5342 and a U.S. Army helicopter, which claimed 67 lives, may have reached a new low in this department. As Dan McLaughlin pointed out at National Review, people are already blaming Trump administration Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy for the disaster just outside of Reagan National Airport near Washington, D.C.

The ‘Cruel Kids’ Are Still Rebelling Against Political Correctness

Following Donald Trump’s unexpected victory in the 2016 election, I concluded that an underrated aspect of his appeal was his vocal opposition to political correctness. In an article exploring this topic in the immediate aftermath of the election results, I observed that “political-correctness-run-amok and liberal overreach would lead to a counter-revolution if unchecked. That counter-revolution just happened.”

“There is a cost to depriving people of the freedom (in both the legal and social senses) to speak their mind,” I wrote. “The presidency just went to the guy whose main qualification, according to his supporters, is that he isn’t afraid to speak his.”

That parenthetical—”in both the legal and social senses”—is vital to understanding what we mean when we complain about political correctness run amok. The First Amendment vigorously protects controversial, confrontational, and, indeed, hateful speech, so it is somewhat uncommon for people to suffer genuine legal ramifications for said speech, although it does happen—particularly on university campuses. Organizations like the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, the Pacific Legal Foundation, and (less frequently these days) the American Civil Liberties Union exist to defend Americans whose First Amendment rights are challenged by the government.

CIA Nukes ‘Affinity Groups,’ Bans Rainbow Lanyards, and Guess Which ‘History Month’ Just Got Axed: Report

The Trump administration’s crackdown on DEI is causing major changes in some federal agencies, according to social media posts by one attorney.

Mark Zaid, an attorney who focuses on national security issues, shared what he was hearing in a post on social media platform X.

“It goes beyond what happened at DHS & NASA today,” he wrote Wednesday.

“CIA employees were told all resource & affinity groups are canceled. No black history month or MLK celebration, or any other ethnic recognition months. DEI folks are to be fired rather than allowed to rotate to former offices,” he wrote.

“CIA is also apparently banning lanyards that have to do with affinity groups. Women’s Council had to take down website & cancel all events, incl women’s history month,” he wrote in another post.

Death to DEI: This Is the Real Reason White Lefties Are Panicking

What if I told you that the primary beneficiaries of DEI were white progressive women, and the loss of their cushy, bossy, “bulls**t” jobs is the real reason for all the panic?

You’re already nodding in agreement, aren’t you?

The selling point for DEI — near as I can tell since lefties would rather accuse critics of racism than defend or sell their policies — is that DEI corrects historical racism, combats systemic racism, and gives businesses a competitive edge.

Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins made that last point a few days ago, claiming that “You cannot argue with the fact that a diverse workforce is better. There’s too much business value [in diversity].” It would be cruel of me to point out that over the last five years, shares in Cisco have underperformed the S&P, with an overall return of 42%. The S&P 500 grew 82% in that same period. Some value, eh?

True diversity of background, thought, priorities, etc., is essential for keeping a business innovative. But DEI is about enforcing progressive groupthink (secondarily) and an all-new category of iron rice bowls (primarily).
