Vulnerable Dem Implodes When Pressed About Support for Socialism

Yes, there’s a congressional race on the Left Coast that Republicans could wrest away from Democrats. Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA) from Washington’s 3rd District is underwater in her race, not well-liked, and trailing her primary challengers. Washington goes by a top-two primary system: everyone from all parties is on the ballot, and the top two vote-getters advance to the general election. Perez is trying to lie low, keeping mum about the state income tax issue (via Oregon Public Radio): 

The race for Washington’s 3rd congressional district is expected to be one of the most competitive in the nation this fall, thanks to a wave of redistricting across the U.S. that has left few seats in play for either political party.

Washington state holds a “top-two primary,” which means that the top two vote-getters advance to the general election in November, regardless of party.

Yet as voters head into the Aug. 4 primary, experts predict a fiercely partisan general election, with an incumbent Democrat fighting to hold her seat against a state senator who’s been endorsed by President Donald Trump in a deeply purple district.

Two-term Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez is favored in a field of four Democratic candidates. The frontrunner in a field of three GOP candidates appears to be state Sen. John Braun, a Trump favorite who represents a rural legislative district that includes northern Clark County.

Whoever emerges victorious will quickly find themselves at the heart of one of the fiercest and most closely watched Congressional races — one of just 18 seats without a likely outcome in November out of the entire 435-member House of Representatives, according to the Cook Political Report.

Perez knows she’s vulnerable, walking a waffled line on some issues, like this interview with a local NPR outlet, where she couldn’t handle questions about her ties and support for socialist causes. The FEC reports don’t lie; she’s taken in over $2 million from the MGP Victory Fund, which has ties to the Washington Democratic Party. It’s no shock, but lady, admit that you’re in with socialists, because that’s the state party platform. There’s a lot of Mamdani in these pages.

Democrats Are Fighting A Civil War, And Bernie Sanders Started It

Democrats desperately want to retake the House in November, not just to thwart President Donald Trump’s legislative agenda, but to launch countless investigations under the guise of oversight. However, their most stubborn obstacle to achieving this goal isn’t President Trump or the Republican Party. The biggest obstacle actually sits inside their own party. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has spent this cycle bankrolling primary challengers against sitting Democrats, and the fight has split the party into two camps that can barely stand each other.

Sanders recently announced plans to defeat a sitting House Democrat from North Carolina who belongs to the Congressional Black Caucus. House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries called Sanders personally to warn him off interfering in House primaries during a midterm year that could decide control of Congress, CNN reported, citing three Democrats familiar with the previously unreported call. Rep. Greg Meeks (D-N.Y.) sat in on that call and told the outlet that Sanders showed little concern about the warning. The call came just before Rep. Valerie Foushee defeated primary challenger Nida Allam in North Carolina in March. Jeffries later declined to describe the exchange beyond calling it honest.

Sanders sits at the height of his influence in Democratic politics right now, which makes the timing of this civil war particularly inconvenient for a party trying to project unity heading into the fall. The dispute comes down to a simple question: should Democrats run candidates who can actually win swing districts, or candidates who fire up the base and risk losing everyone else? Sanders has chosen one side, and the establishment the other. He has endorsed more than 90 candidates this cycle and helped topple House incumbents in New York City and Colorado. Of the 60 Sanders-backed candidates whose races have concluded, 42 have won, including 10 of 16 federal candidates. Senior Washington Democrats grumble that Sanders is forcing the party to burn money on internal fights instead of saving it for Republicans in November.

Then there’s Graham Platner, the Maine Senate candidate Sanders backed and defended even after the New York Times reported allegations of abusive behavior toward women. Sanders kept defending him until after allegations of rape surfaced, which Platner has denied. Sanders withdrew his endorsement only then.

Platner’s exit from the race, according to OpenSecrets, put the Democratic Party in a deep financial hole. Platner can’t simply transfer his campaign funds to his replacement, and whoever takes his place will ultimately have to overcome a huge cash disadvantage compared to Sen. Susan Collins.

“Bernie has endorsed some flawed candidates recently,” Rep. Hillary Scholten of Michigan said. “I think it’s really important to look at the judgment that has been exercised. The Graham Platner situation should be a huge warning sign to a lot of voters about what that stamp of approval might mean.”

Michigan is where this rift boiled over this weekend, as Sanders held rallies – joined by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez – for Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed and House candidate William Lawrence. Asked whether he’s making it harder for Democrats to win in November, the 84-year-old Sanders said no and argued his candidates represent working people rather than wealthy donors. El-Sayed’s support for Medicare for All and his criticism of Israel and AIPAC have made him a progressive favorite. At the same time, the party establishment favors Rep. Haley Stevens as the safer bet against likely GOP nominee former Rep. Mike Rogers. Retiring Sen. Gary Peters had planned to stay neutral in the August 4 primary but endorsed Stevens last week instead.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has made his preference for Stevens clear. However, he avoided direct criticism of Sanders when asked, saying Democrats would settle on a nominee suited to the state. Rep. Ro Khanna compared Sanders’ standing in the party to that of the pope and Barack Obama. Rep. Josh Gottheimer sees something else entirely.

“The DSA, which Bernie’s part of, is trying to hijack the Democratic Party, and what you’re seeing is people don’t want that,” Gottheimer said. “The Democratic Party wants to be the Democratic Party, and he’s trying to use the Democratic Party as a vessel for socialism, and people don’t want socialism.”

Dem Senator Mark Warner Struggles to Respond When Pressed on His Party’s Embrace of DSA Radicals

Democrat Senator Mark Warner of Virginia was actually pressed during an appearance on CNBC this week about his party’s embrace of DSA radicals and what their beliefs could mean for the country.

Warner struggled to respond and fell back on the ‘big tent’ talking points that we have heard repeatedly from various Democrats.

The truth is that they have no answer. They are just so desperate to win that they will take anyone, no matter how out of touch they are with the rest of the country.

Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., was pressed on the Democratic Party’s embrace of socialist candidates during an interview on Tuesday as he clashed with CNBC host Joe Kernen over some left-wing policies being proposed on the campaign trail.

Warner argued that Democrats have failed to adequately deliver on certain issues and argued that socialism has become more popular because of the party’s shortcomings.

He said that at least there was an ideological debate happening in the Democratic Party, unlike on the Republican side, and dodged a question about whether he supported far-left Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed.

“I have stayed out of all of these races, I’m just not, I’m running myself this year, I’m trying to get re-elected myself in Virginia and that’s where my focus is,” Warner said…

Warner said he believed in a free enterprise system and said that “our modern capitalism ought to be more focused on, you know, long-term investment.”

“I think there are ways, and some — you might call it radical, to actually make our capitalism work for more people,” he continued. “And I think we got to acknowledge that people like you and I, Joe, get a certain advantage. White guys with right education get a better advantage in our system and to deny that, I just think that shows — I’m not saying you do — but I think that shows a disconnection from reality as well.”

Congresswoman Has a Blunt Message for the MSM on ‘Democratic Socialism’

“This is what radical leftism is. It may wear various different slogans and ideologies across place and time. They call themselves anti-capitalist or anti-imperialist, communist, anarchist, Marxist, but the fundamental character is always the same,” Marco Rubio said last week when he hosted the leaders of over 60 different countries to a ministerial on the “resurgence of transnational far-left terrorism.” 

He left out “democratic socialism,” but let’s face it. It’s all the same. And Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-N.Y.) spoke out about that today at a House Republican leadership press conference, warning about the rise of so-called “democratic socialists” and the reality for voters and the media.   

Malliotakis would know. Her mother fled Cuba in 1959 as Fidel Castro took power. The Castro regime stole her family’s home and their small business, a gas station owned by her grandfather. She says her mother never saw her grandfather again after that. I’ve heard countless stories just like that from Venezuelan friends and acquaintances. Communism ruins families. 

“Communism destroys. It steals from the people,” Malliotakis said. “…people end up living in squalor and lack the basic needs that human beings need, and the people that run the regime live as kings. That’s the reality. It’s about power. It’s about consolidating power for a select few.”   

She pointed out that, sadly, that’s exactly what we’re starting to see here in the United States with the winners of several recent primaries and elections. 

“We have Mayor Mamdani, who pushed and is pushing an agenda of government-run supermarkets, abolishing private property rights, and seizing the means of production,” she continued. “…And that is exactly what they did in communist Cuba.”   

The congresswoman pointed out that her Cuban mother says socialism is basically just a step toward communism. The government steals property and wealth and uses it to redistribute and create better lives for themselves, while their constituents suffer. She also pointed out that Democrats want to pack the Supreme Court, but that’s a move straight out of Hugo Chávez’s playbook. As I wrote yesterday, that’s one reason why Venezuela can’t have elections right now. The country’s Supreme Court is stacked in favor of the regime, and it will require dismantling the court, among other institutions, to get there.

The Democrats Aren’t Merging With the DSA — They’re Being Devoured Alive

It’s a rule in Big Tech: Whenever companies reach a large enough size, they stop innovating. For whatever reason, their creative juices runneth dry.

They simply… stop.

Google, Facebook, Apple, Microsoft — it happened to all of them. Little by little, America’s most innovative companies lost their ability to innovate.

And today, they only grow by acquiring outside startups.

Google leveraged its search engine revenue to acquire Android, YouTube, Fitbit, Wiz, and DeepMind. Facebook bought Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus. Apple owes its renaissance to acquiring NeXT, and later bought Siri, Beats, and Shazam. Microsoft acquired everything from Forethought (precursor to PowerPoint), Hotmail, LinkedIn, Skype, GitHub, Visio, Minecraft, Activision Blizzard, and a whole lot more.

You’d expect a deep-pocketed tech company with tens of thousands of highly-trained employees, first-mover advantage, tons of resources and/or industry contacts, and an R&D budget in the BILLIONS to have a big competitive edge, but nah. Turns out that successful innovation is less about the dollars and structure — and more about the vision and freedom.

(Which is a cautionary tale that today’s AI monoliths would be wise to heed.)

In hindsight, Steve Jobs was the last of the CEO innovators — the Willy Wonka of Big Tech. He wowed us with the iPhone, iPad, iPod, and iTunes. He developed new ideas in-house, smoothed out the rough edges, and revealed his latest, greatest creations in grand unveilings.

But that’s not how it’s done anymore. Hasn’t been for at least a decade. Big companies today grow by acquiring, not by innovating.

The same thing is about to happen to the Democratic Party.

When was the last time the donkeys developed anything new? A new plan, a new proposal, a new solution — or even a new idea? When was the last time a member of the Democratic establishment/DNC said something that made you go, “Wow, I never thought about it like that before?”

It’s been 50+ years, because their tactics, rhetoric, and ideas are all throwbacks to the 1960s.

By contrast, the Republican Party still spews new ideas like a nimble startup: Trump Accounts, tariffs, Greenland, Opportunity Zones, DOGE, the Space Force, the Abraham Accords — and that’s just during the MAGA era! Not every idea was a home run, but at least the GOP is trying.

The Democrats have given up.

I suspect this “innovation gap” was a self-fulfilling manifestation of both parties’ philosophies: Republicans are the free market party. The strength of a free market is its responsiveness to changes in the marketplace — with the invisible hand and dollar voting. So if you’re predisposed to think of our world this way, you’re probably already a Republican. 

And thus, you already value responsiveness. It’s hardwired into your DNA: Free men, trading freely, in pursuit of their mutual benefit, are the ultimate expression of liberty. 

“Build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door.”

It’s how we became the innovation party. It’s why we prioritize new ideas. And it’s why, even after the sun sets on the Trump years, the GOP will continue to innovate.

Democrat Socialist Immigrant Candidate Says the Quiet Part Out Loud About Her Party’s Sinister Plan on Migration

One of the Democrats’ newest socialist stars recently let the mask slip as she revealed her party’s ultimate sinister goal on the issue of immigration.

Melat Kiros, the Democratic nominee for Colorado’s 1st congressional district, spoke at Denver’s Wa’Ela Tigrai event over the weekend about her experience as a Black immigrant living in America and her successful campaign.

Kiross was born in Ethiopia just weeks before her father was selected in the United States’ Diversity Visa Lottery, and the family then immigrated to Colorado.

Back in June, the 29-year-old Democratic Socialist defeated 15-time incumbent Democrat Rep. Diana DeGette and is now a shoo-in to become the next congresswoman in this heavily blue district.

During the interview, Kiros said that the only way to stop America from ‘exploiting’ the world is to push for more mass immigration from the global south and get more immigrants who look just like her elected to office.

Doing so, she argues, will help build a new global world order.

Promoting this Great Replacement scheme has been the endgame for Democrats for decades, but they are usually more subtle.

Elizabeth Warren Endorses Radical DSA Candidate in Michigan Senate Race, is Reminded of Utter Failure of Her Platner Endorsement 

Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren has just endorsed the far left DSA candidate Abdul El-Sayed for senate in Michigan.

She is doing this despite the fact that her endorsement of Graham Platner in Maine basically blew up in her face less than two weeks ago, when he was forced to drop out of the race over allegations of rape.

It shows just how desperate Democrats are to retake control of the senate.

Warren sure is a great judge of character, isn’t she?

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) endorsed Muslim Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed in the primary race, asserting that he is the only candidate who can build a “grassroots” movement to usher in leftist projects like universal health care.

El-Sayed has been backed by socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), and most recently, Sen. Warren.

“Abdul is the only candidate in this race not taking corporate money, and he’s fighting to get money out of politics altogether. Abdul studied to be a doctor, and he’s fighting for every single American to have affordable, high-quality healthcare,” she said.

“Abdul has been a card-carrying union member, and he’s fighting for working people. That’s why he’s endorsed by the United Auto Workers, and he’s growing a movement of working people all across Michigan. And that’s why I’m endorsing Abdul. He is the fighter Michigan needs in the Senate,” Warren continued, identifying him as the “only candidate in this race who can build the grassroots movement needed to win in November for money in your pocket to get money out of politics and deliver Medicare for all.”

Mamdani’s Affordability Agenda Flops As NYC Rents Surge To Record Highs

New York City’s socialist mayor, Zohran Mamdani, and his radical-left lieutenants in City Hall promised voters free bus rides, government-run grocery stores, cheap housing, and much more. Yet the dream of a left-wing utopia has not materialized. In fact, rents in the NYC metro area just hit a record high.

New data from The Corcoran Group, a major residential real estate brokerage founded in NYC, shows that rents in the metro area have climbed to a new record high.

Manhattan’s median rent rose 8% from a year earlier to $5,295, while Brooklyn reached $4,350, also up 8%, according to the report. Manhattan’s vacancy rate narrowed to 1.49%. In Queens, Rego Park posted particularly sharp increases, with one-bedroom rents up 12% and studio rents up more than 20%.

“Manhattan renters are chasing a shrinking pool of available apartments, and the result has become predictable — record rents. Available listings dropped 16% year-over-year in June, while the borough’s median rent climbed to a new high of $5,295 . Leasing activity clocked in 7% below last year’s pace due to the lack of inventory, causing competition to remain fierce. Additionally, June marked one year since implementation of the FARE Act, a milestone that may still be influencing pricing trends, particularly within the non-doorman market. Across the board, quality apartments are commanding a premium, and renters have little room to negotiate,” Corcoran COO Gary Malin wrote in the report.

Malin continued, “Brooklyn’s rental market is also rewriting the record books. Median rent jumped 8% year-over-year to an all-time high of $4,350 and apartments spent 30% fewer days on the market. This steep annual decline underscores how tight the market has become, with flat inventory and strong demand strong causing available units to rent far faster than a year ago. While lease signings were lower on an annual basis, activity picked up from May as renters moved quickly to secure apartments ahead of the busiest stretch of the summer season. Throughout the borough, competition.”

City Comptroller Mark Levine commented on the new report, saying, “NYC’s housing affordability crisis is at DEFCON 1. We need to push harder on every front to address our housing shortage.”

“Update zoning, invest more City $ in affordable units, lower the time & cost City bureaucracy imposes on construction, get 1000s of vacant regulated units back on the market. We need bold action. This is a crisis,” Levine added.

Yet, as Libs of TikTok on X pointed out, “We don’t have a housing shortage. We have an illegal alien invasion,” adding, “Forty percent of NYC rentals are occupied by people born outside the US.”

When far left Missouri Rep. Cori Bush was voted out of office, she vowed to return. Now that the radical left is seeing some wins with their DSA candidates, she thinks it’s her ticket back into congress.

She is one of those politicians who just can’t take no for an answer. Being a member of congress is probably the best and easiest job she has ever had and she is desperate to get back in.

She is even campaigning with a radical ‘Maoist’ who supports the terrorist group Hamas.

Former Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., is campaigning to return to Congress alongside a self-described Maoist activist and political organizer whose online videos and social media rhetoric has included urging leftists not to disavow Hamas or Hezbollah, has included calls to “unmake” America, applauded burning the American flag and endorsed political violence.

The activist, Christopher Winston, has built an online presence across numerous platforms under the pseudonym “BlackRedGuard,” posting and appearing in videos about “Maoist organizing in DSA,” attacking leftists who say they do not support “Hezbollah/Hamas” and using rhetoric that appeared to condone political violence.

In one video reviewed by Fox News Digital, Winston asked, “What’s wrong with throwing molotov cocktails at a police station? What’s wrong with throwing molotovs at a police station?”

Bush, an ousted “Squad” Democrat mounting a comeback bid in Missouri’s 1st Congressional District, appeared in a recent social media post standing right beside Winston as he participated in supporting her campaign…

“If you say s— like ‘I don’t support Hezbollah/Hamas’ and call yourself a leftist you lame. All power to all the resistance. Peace through the sword,” Winston, a St. Louis-area activist working with the DSA said in his social media post shaming those on the left who condemn Hamas and Hezbollah.

Bush is also already being investigated for fraud again. Some things never change.
