Hospital worker tells Scottish Covid Inquiry hospitals were only “half full” during the covid outbreak

The UK Covid-19 Inquiry is examining, considering and reporting on preparations and the response to the pandemic in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, in areas reserved to the UK Government and Parliament.  Whereas, the Scottish Covid-19 Inquiry is investigating aspects of the devolved strategic response to the pandemic between 1 January 2020 and 31 December 2022.

Established in February 2022, the Scottish Covid Inquiry officially opened in May 2022. The Inquiry has been split into four investigative streams called portfolios:

  • Portfolio 1 – Public sector response.
  • Portfolio 2 – Financial and welfare support to businesses and individuals.
  • Portfolio 3 – The provision of health and social care services.
  • Portfolio 4 – Education, certification, impact on children and young people.

It held its final week of Health and Social Care Impact Hearings from 21–23 May 2024.  On the last day, Neil Craig who has worked as a hospital porter at Glasgow Royal Infirmary for 25 years gave his oral testimony.  He worked as a porter at the hospital throughout the covid pandemic and was giving evidence relating to the impacts of the pandemic and its response on porters as a union representative for Unite.

At first, he and his hospital porters were not catching covid.  They felt it was their duty to continue working despite what was being publicised in the media. 

At first, he said, the managers at the hospital didn’t know what the impact of covid would be or the number of patients to expect.

“They thought that the workload was going to be higher so we were all there. And we could be there as long as we wanted to be really because people weren’t sure if you were going to be needed. But it turned out they weren’t really needed,” he told the Inquiry.  Because there was a significant fall in the amount of work that porters had to do.

“We didn’t have the capacity [high numbers of patients] in the hospital.  Obviously, a lot of patients they discharged out of the hospital, either to home or care homes or other places [and] they didn’t schedule elective surgeries. So, the workload was definitely not as bad,” he said.

In his written testimony (see the last section of this article), Craig said that the medical block was less than half-full.  He was asked what he meant by the “medical block.”

“Medical block would be like your everyday general medicine patient,” he explained.  “We’re used to being at full capacity most days.  But then you’d go into the wards and they were like half empty, half full, whatever you look at it.”

So, as he stated in his written testimony, people were still going to work but a long period could pass before a porter was asked to do a job.  “Because the amount of workload was near the same and because we had probably, that was the best time we were staffed in the hospital because people felt it was their duty to go to work and work through it. And we had lots of free downtime,” he told the Inquiry.

From sometime in April 2020, admissions to the hospital of covid patients increased and “gradually the workload would increase but it still wouldn’t be anywhere near as a normal day [pre-covid] because you’ve not got elective surgeries on, you’ve not got clinic appointments. So, you’ve only got people that need to be, seriously need to be, in a hospital and emergency fears,” he said.

Dr. Fauci Caught in Scheme to Hide Emails from FOIA Requests — Hid Information on Source of COVID from the Wuhan Lab — Paid Off Doctor to Keep Silent with Millions in Funding and Grants

On January 31, 2020, Danish-born and British-educated scientist Kristian Andersen emailed Dr. Tony Fauci, saying the virus looked lab-made.

According to the email (emphasis added):

“[O]ne has to look really closely at all the sequences to see that some of the features (potentially) look engineered . . . . Eddie [Holmes], Bob [Garry], Mike [Ferguson] and myself all find the genome inconsistent with evolutionary theory.”

Then on February 4, 2020, after a call with Dr. Tony Fauci, British scientist Kristian Anderson wrote that the lab leak theory was a conspiracy theory.

Kristian Anderson, “The main crackpot theories going around at the moment related to this virus being somehow engineered… and that is demonstrably false.”

So what happened between January 31, 2020 and February 4, 2020?

Dr. Tony Fauci called Dr. Kristian Anderson and ordered him to publicly say the COVID-19 virus was NOT lab-made. And, Tony Fauci offered Andersen a sweet deal if he did so. A huge grant from the NIH!

The New York Times reported on Anderson’s early email to Dr. Fauci in an article published in June 2021.

Over the past year, Dr. Andersen has been one of the most outspoken proponents of the theory that the coronavirus originated from a natural spillover from an animal to humans outside of a lab. But in the email to Dr. Fauci in January 2020, Dr. Andersen hadn’t yet come to that conclusion. He told Dr. Fauci, the government’s top infectious disease expert, that some features of the virus made him wonder whether it had been engineered, and noted that he and his colleagues were planning to investigate further by analyzing the virus’s genome.

The researchers published those results in a paper in the scientific journal Nature Medicine on March 17, 2020, concluding that a laboratory origin was very unlikely. Dr. Andersen has reiterated this point of view in interviews and on Twitter over the past year, putting him at the center of the continuing controversy over whether the virus could have leaked from a Chinese lab.

When his early email to Dr. Fauci was released, the media storm around Dr. Andersen intensified, and he deactivated his Twitter account. He answered written questions from The New York Times about the email and the fracas. The exchange has been lightly edited for length.

As The Gateway Pundit reported in March 2023, Dr. Anderson switched his story four days after his call with Tony Fauci.

But, The New York Times conveniently omitted in their reporting that after his call with Dr. Fauci on February 1, 2020, Dr. Anderson was given a $1.88 million grant and $16.5 million in funding from NIAID, Dr. Fauci’s personal piggy bank.

NIH scientists made $710M in royalties from drug makers — a fact they tried to hide

During the pandemic, the American people started to feel that Big Government was very cozy with Big Pharma.

Now we know just how close they were.

New data from the National Institutes of Health reveal the agency and its scientists collected $710 million in royalties during the pandemic, from late 2021 through 2023. These are payments made by private companies, like pharmaceuticals, to license medical innovations from government scientists.

Almost all that cash — $690 million — went to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the subagency led by Dr. Anthony Fauci, and 260 of its scientists.

Information about this vast private royalty complex is tightly held by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). My organization, OpenTheBooks.com, was forced to sue to uncover the royalties paid from September 2009 to October 2021, which amounted to $325 million over 56,000 transactions.

Biden Admin Sneakily Grants ‘Mass Amnesty’ to Migrants via Legal Loophole: Report

On Sunday, the New York Post revealed that the Biden administration is operating a “mass amnesty” program for illegal immigrants, while simultaneously attempting to portray the message that they are cracking down on the border. 

The Post cited data indicating that more than 350,000 asylum cases filed by illegal immigrants since 2022 have been closed by the government, as long as the applicants have no criminal record and are not viewed as a threat to the country. 

This means that the migrants are not granted or denied asylum, but rather their cases are “terminated without a decision on the merits of their asylum claim.” 

This means that they are removed from the system and not required to check in with authorities, giving them the ability to legally and indefinitely roam through the US without risk of deportation.

Making Over $141K, Minneapolis Mayor Thanks Biden For Student Loan Forgiveness

If you weren’t already infuriated by Joe Biden’s exploitation of the federal student loan program as a means of buying votes and redistributing wealth, this should do the trick. 

On Wednesday, Minneapolis Mayor Melvin Carter — who earns makes takes $140,814 a year before benefits — rushed to Twitter to thank President Biden for erasing his remaining student debt, sharing a screen shot showing his outstanding balance had turned to zero. 

The latest drip in the fiscal Chinese water torture that’s being inflicted on responsible, productive Americans came earlier that day, with Biden announcing he was cancelling another $7.7 billion of debt. With that, the total such debt wiped away by his administration has reached $167 billion.  

After emphasizing that the average beneficiary of Biden’s self-serving abuse of taxpayers has had $35,000 in debt forgiven, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre fielded a challenging question from, of all sources, NBC News. Correspondent Peter Alexander asked, “Why don’t those individuals who didn’t receive $35,000 in debt cancellation deserve a $35,000 check from other Americans for what other means they would want to use it?”

The Deepfake Privilege? The Justice Department Makes Startling Claim To Withhold the Biden-Hur Audiotape

We have been discussing the dubious constitutional basis for President Joe Biden withholding the audio tapes of his interview with special counsel Robert Hur. I have previously written that the claim of privilege makes little sense when the transcript of the interview has already been released. It seems curious that Biden is claiming to be the president “who cannot be heard” in withholding the audio version.

It just got wackier as the Justice Department seeks to create a new type of “Deepfake privilege” that would effectively blow away all existing limits on the use of the privilege when it comes to audio or visual records of a president.

Multiple committees are investigating Biden for possible impeachment and conducting oversight on the handling of the investigation into his retention and mishandling of classified material over decades. Classified documents were found in various locations where Biden lived or worked, including his garage. The mishandling of classified material is uncontestable. Broken boxes, unprotected areas and lack of tracking are all obvious from the photos.

Biden made the situation even worse with a disastrous press conference in which he attacked Hur and misrepresented his findings.

Hur’s ultimate conclusion that Biden’s diminished cognitive abilities would undermine any prosecution left many dumbfounded. After all, the man who is too feeble to prosecute is not only running a superpower with a massive nuclear arsenal but running for reelection to add four more years in office.

Retired Navy Admiral Charged in Bribery Scandal

Federal prosecutors have announced the arrest of former Naval Officer Robert P. Burke, 62, on serious bribery charges.

Burke, a retired four-star Navy Admiral, was arrested on Friday.  According to the Justice Department, he accepted bribes in exchange for steering government contracts to a company that promised him a lucrative job after his retirement from the Navy.

The indictment reveals that from 2020 to 2022, Burke, who oversaw Naval operations in Europe, Russia, and most of Africa and commanded thousands of civilian and military personnel, conspired with CEOs Yongchul “Charlie” Kim and Meghan Messenger of “Company A”) that provided a workforce training pilot program to a small component of the Navy from August 2018 through July 2019.

The Navy terminated a contract with Company A in late 2019 and directed Company A not to contact Burke.

Despite the Navy’s instructions, Kim and Messenger allegedly still met with Burke in Washington, D.C., in July 2021, in an effort to reestablish Company A’s business relationship with the Navy.

It is alleged that at the July 2021 meeting, the charged defendants agreed that Burke would use his position as a Navy Admiral to steer a sole-source contract to Company A in exchange for future employment at the company.

The mysterious disappearance of a Mexican ‘supermodel’ Gabriela Rico Jiménez who emerged screaming from glitzy hotel claiming the elite were ‘eating humans’ … and then vanished

The strange case of Gabriela Rico Jiménez, a Mexican woman who unleashed wild accusations about a host of powerful people before suddenly disappearing, is one mired in mystery.

The then-21-year-old vanished in 2009, after a video of her emotional outburst and subsequent arrest went viral. In the aftermath it was widely reported that she was a supermodel, but no evidence of this exists.

Her case has now resurfaced in a recent podcast by Mexico Unexplained, available now on Apple Podcasts, as speculation over her fate remains. 

The incident occurred outside a luxury hotel in the Mexican city of Monterrey Nuevo Leon, where people were said to be partying. From there, she emerged in a frantic state, wearing a ripped shirt bearing the words ‘yum yum.’ 

She quickly began hurling accusations at the royal family, Disney, and one of the richest and most powerful men in Mexico, almost immediately drawing a crowd. The woman accused them of living in a subterranean base and stealing children and eating human flesh. 

She was swiftly cuffed by cops, never to be seen by members of the public again.

Alvin Bragg’s Office Accused of Leaking Trump’s Potential Sentence to ‘The View’ — Likely to Recommend a Year Behind Bars for Trump at Rikers Island

The office of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who is backed by Soros, is now under fire for allegedly leaking sensitive sentencing information about former President Donald Trump to the far-left media.

In the wake of a trial widely criticized as a sham, where Trump was convicted on all 34 felony charges in a ‘hush money’ scandal, sources suggest that DA Bragg’s office may recommend Trump serve a year at the notorious Rikers Island.

Judge Merchan told jurors they did not have to agree on a crime—a practice unheard of in US history. The jury only had to agree that something bad happened.

This, of course, is completely unconstitutional. This was clearly the greatest travesty of justice in American history.

So now we have a convicted US President with 34 felony counts, and NO ONE knows what crime President Trump committed!

The sentencing was set for July 11—three days before the Republican convention!

Now, ‘The View’ co-host Sunny Hostin, who seemed quite pleased with the developments, shared on the air that she had spoken with someone from Bragg’s office.

She described them as ‘street fighters,’ who indicated that Bragg might push for a tough one-year imprisonment, primarily to ensure Trump faces the daunting conditions of Rikers Island.

Fauci Says He Signed Off on Grants Without Reviewing Them

Dr. Anthony Fauci said in a newly disclosed interview that he signed off on thousands of grants without reviewing them.

“I sign off on each … but I don’t see the grants and what they are. I never look at what grants are there,” Dr. Fauci told the U.S. House of Representatives Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic. “It’s just somebody at the end of the council where they’re all finished and they go, ‘Here,’ and you sign it.”

Dr. Fauci, 83, was the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) from 1984 to late 2022.

Grant proposals first go to a group of peers. If they pass through that group, they are received by the NIAID’s National Advisory Council.

Dr. David Morens, one of Dr. Fauci’s top advisers while he was in the government, had written in an email that “Tony doesn’t maintain awareness of these things and doesn’t know unless program officers tell him, which they rarely do.”

“We have very highly trained subject matter experts at the program level that look at the grants and monitor the grants.  Dr. Fauci told the subcommittee. ”It would be physically impossible for me to get into and look at every grant.”
