Of Commies, Purple States, and the Elusive Undecided Voter

If you are an American political junkie and are able to emotionally detach yourself from the process, this is a fascinating time in history to get your fix. Heck, even if you do get a little emotionally invested it’s still wild and interesting. 

I worked on my first campaign in 1984. For the next 35 years or so, I was a conservative Republican activist. While there were always some surprises, most of that time just involved the normal ebb and flow of American party politics. I was 3-2 in my first five presidential elections, for example. From a conservative standpoint, the most interesting thing that happened in all of those years was the Tea Party movement. I co-founded the Los Angeles Tea Party, and spent the next few years flying all over the country speaking at rallies and conferences. 

Historical trends in politics remained fairly reliable guides for political prognostication through most of the first decade-and-a-half of the 21st century. Then, real estate mogul and reality television star Donald Trump blew everything out of the water. 

What’s been interesting is watching how many “experts” and pundits from all across the political spectrum still cling to conventional wisdom and the above-mentioned historical trends, despite none of it applying since the night in November 2016 that Trump sent Granny Maojackets back to her box wine breakfasts in Chappaqua. 

We’re getting close to the home stretch for this year’s midterm elections and it is by far the weirdest one of these things that I have been involved in during my adult political life. The Republicans have nominal control of Washington right now. The slim majorities in Congress are often cited as excuses for not getting anything done, but those of us who have been voting Republican for a long time aren’t buying it. The GOP has shown time and again that it doesn’t play well with the lead. 

All of the above means that the Democrats should be looking at bright skies and clear sailing to victory in November, especially in the House. That’s what those wacky historical trends tell us, anyway. Oddly, the hive mind party has chosen this year to have a full-on family feud. The fight is between the young commies who proudly let their hammer and sickle freak flags fly, and the Dem elders who agree with all of the commie stuff, but would prefer to be more coy about it so that they can dupe undecided voters. 

Honestly, I have never understood undecided voters. They were a mystery to me even back when politics were much less contentious. Here in the bitter divide era, I don’t know how anyone is sitting on the fence. It would seem to me that the metaphorical fence is covered with razor wire at the top. I think the “independent” voter idea is garbage too. Nobody votes like a true independent; people always lean to one party. The undecideds and independents are out there though, and they are always the Golden Ticket in every American election. 

Yes, my friends, the fate of the Republic hinges on people who haven’t caught on to the fact that the Democrats keep talking about shredding the Constitution. It’s realizations like that which make it harder for me to stay detached, but my years of “all dead inside” practice serve me well. 

The Democrats’ flying monkeys in the mainstream media are still trying to ascertain how they want to react to their masters’ commie conundrum. Early indications are that many are sympathetic to the Stalin youth of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), but know that there will be some growing pains with them.

The Steps to Establishing Marxism — And How the U.S. Is Slipping Left

Since the October 1917 Bolshevik Revolution that brought Vladimir Lenin to power in Russia, every communist system has ultimately failed. From Russia to North Korea, Laos, Cuba, Cambodia, Eastern Europe, and China, communism promised to make everyone equal but, in effect, made nearly everyone equally poor, except for a handful of wealthy party cadres at the top.

To maintain this unnatural system of collectivization, every communist country became a totalitarian dictatorship. In order for the Communist Party to remain in power, restrictions on normal freedoms, such as freedom of speech, assembly, the press, religion, and political affiliation, were enforced by secret police, coupled with centrally controlled courts, prisons, and gulags.

Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels’ 1848 Communist Manifesto laid out ten measures for abolishing capitalism. Austrian economist Friedrich Hayek’s 1944 book The Road to Serfdom argued that even well-intentioned central economic planning tends to erode political liberty and personal freedom. In 1958, W. Cleon Skousen published The Naked Communist, which included a list of 45 goals he said represented a communist strategy for the gradual takeover of the United States. On January 10, 1963, Rep. A. S. Herlong Jr. of Florida read the list into the Congressional Record.

Across the United States, there are examples of nearly every one of these steps toward communism. California and New York are the most obvious examples, but the militant left, the extreme left, and Democratic Socialists are pushing similar policies at the state and federal levels.

These include state-run enterprises that undercut private businesses, direct price controls in place of market pricing, government seizure of private real estate, confiscatory taxation of accumulated wealth, and jurisdiction-level withdrawal from uniform federal law enforcement.

They also include organized ideological movements capturing the leadership of core public institutions, coalition networks linking avowedly socialist organizations to mainstream advocacy groups, federal proposals to nationalize parts of strategic industries, the political normalization of these ideas beyond the socialist fringe, and the rebranding of confiscation, nationalization, and seizure under administrative or otherwise benign-sounding terminology.

BACKFIRE: X Users Bury Marxist NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani with This Brutal Reminder After He Mocks Rich New Yorkers About Paying Their “Fair Share”

Communist New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani probably did not anticipate being humiliated online after dunking on rich New Yorkers about paying their “fair share” in taxes earlier this week.

As Fox News reported, Mamdani and New York Governor Kathy Hochul unveiled a joint legislative proposal in April that went after luxury second homes worth $5 million or more. This is known as a pied-à-terre tax.

On Thursday, Mamdani took to X to brag that his office had sent notification letters reminding these homeowners that the tax would be implemented soon and to “check your mailbox.”

Mamdani added that only when the rich pay their “fair share” can the Big Apple afford the “best parks, libraries, and schools in the world.”

“If you have a second home in New York City worth more than $5M, check your mailbox when you’re back in the five boroughs — because you’ve got mail,” Mamdani wrote.

“Today, we sent notification letters to property owners, letting them know that our new pied-à-terre tax is coming soon,” he continued. “The best city in the world deserves the best parks, libraries, and schools in the world. That’s only possible when we all pay our fair share.”

Democratic Socialists Think America Is Somehow Worse Than Mass Murderer Mao Zedong

We’re hearing more and more from the Democratic Socialists of America about all of the sins of America and very little of the good things we’ve done to ourselves and to the world at large on our 250th birthday. 

What is it, the nature of this DSA, Democratic Socialists of America, and the diversity, equity, inclusion criticism that we were racist, sexist, nativist, cruel, ruthless, etc., etc.  

But my question is, compared to what? 

Mao Zedong? He killed 70 million people. He was the greatest mass murderer in history, and that government is still communist in an unbroken chain from [Chinese leader] Xi [Jinping] all the way back to Mao. Do we ever talk about that or the million people who are in concentration camps in China? 

Compared to historically to the Aztecs? We’re told the Aztecs were great people. They had an empire, but they crushed over a million people to create their empire. Some years, they sacrificed up to 10,000, maybe 15,000 a year of conquered tribes of fellow Indigenous people. 

Do we remember Shaka Zulu, the 19th-century creator of the Zulu nation? He was responsible for a genocide in crushing his enemies that probably cost over a million lives. 

Do we really think that the Native Americans were living in paradise until Europeans came? The story of Native Americans was conquest, enslavement, butchery of rival tribes. 

So, what is going on? 

We have a tradition in the West of self-criticism. That’s what makes us different. Rationalism, self-criticism, improvement. But when that goes to an extreme, it ventures from self-criticism and self-reflection to nihilism, and it’s quite destructive. 

So, let’s just take a look at where the United States is compared to the rest. 

Look at immigration. Why do a million people, or 2 million people, 10,000 a day under Joe Biden, from very poor countries, most of them from what we would call the former Third World that were victims of socialism, why do they risk their lives coming here every year? 

Why do all these critics of the United States … [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez], why did her parents want to come here? Why did [Rep.] Ilhan Omar’s father want to come here? Why did [Rep.] Rashida Tlaib’s father want to come here? Why did [New York City Mayor] Zohran Mamdani’s parents want to come? Was it so bad?

House panel subpoenas 3 left-wing groups in probe of $39M tied to Marxist tycoon Neville Singham

The powerful House Ways and Means Committee has subpoenaed three left-wing nonprofits in an investigation into more than $39 million that flowed from Marxist tech tycoon Neville Roy Singham to the groups, Fox News Digital has learned.

In three letters dated July 21 and obtained by Fox News Digital, the committee accused the three nonprofits of failing to turn over a “single responsive document” to earlier requests for information.

The committee, led by Chairman Jason Smith, R-Mo., issued the subpoenas to the People’s Forum Inc., a New York-based activist hub; BreakThrough News, a left-wing nonprofit media outlet; and Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research, which says its work is anchored in “national liberation Marxism.”

The legislative action emerges as far-left nonprofits face growing scrutiny from law enforcement agencies, policymakers and federal agencies for their alleged roles in promoting communist propaganda, engaging in money laundering schemes and fomenting discord and even political violence. Last week, Secretary of State Rubio convened a summit of 65 nations to counter “far-left terrorism.

On Monday, the State Department released a 100-page report on a network of U.S. organizations that allegedly promote propaganda for the communist regime in Cuba.

The panel said it is investigating whether existing laws governing tax-exempt organizations adequately protect against foreign influence — and whether Congress needs to change those laws. The letters cite a five-part Fox News Digital investigation published in March that exposed the flow of $285 million from Singham into a sprawling international network of nonprofits, activist groups and media operations.

“Your responses have failed to include a single responsive document and misrepresented both the scope and purpose of the Committee’s oversight,” the nearly identical letters state. “Accordingly, the Committee is invoking compulsory process to obtain the requested materials.”

Communist Tyrant Daniel Ortega Announces There Will Be No More Elections in Nicaragua

Communist tyrant Daniel Ortega announced this weekend that there will no longer be national elections in Nicaragua.

Ortega has been in power since 2007.

Daniel Ortega: “There will be no more elections here so that they [the opposition] can try to seize the government and seize power.” He added that “never again” would parties backed by the United States or “Somocistas” return to power.”

The pro-Cuban communist made the announcement during an official speech in Managua commemorating the 47th anniversary of the 1979 Sandinista Revolution, that is traditionally observed on July 19th.

Ortega has jailed many of the potential rival candidates. US Democrats are following in his footsteps as they continue to persecute Trump and his supporters including supporters in the media.

According to Grok, this announcement effectively cancels or rules out Nicaragua’s next scheduled general elections (originally set for November 2027, after earlier term extensions). It represents a further consolidation of power by Ortega (in office continuously since 2007) and his wife, Rosario Murillo (co-president).

Musk’s Unrealistic Future View is a New World Communist Vision

Elon Musk’s reasoning that AI and robots will make work optional is based on a core economic absurd argument: AI and robotics will create such an abundance of goods and services that the very concepts of work and money become largely obsolete. However, this vision also faces significant challenges and raises complex questions about the human desire for purpose. I was doing research in the Firestone Library at Princeton University. I became friends with one professor who had known Einstein.

He asked me what I was so intensely researching. I explained that I was trying to ascertain why all governments rise and then crash and burn throughout the centuries. He then said to me that I reminded him of Einstein. I was taken back. I said I was no Einstein. He then explained to me to me that the subject matter did not matter. It was curiosity that was the mother of all discovery. Without someone being curious, human society would stagnate.

During the late 1970s, I went through Check-Point-Charlie into East Germany. I wanted to see what Communism was all about and why they needed a wall to prevent people from fleeing. Those words from that professor suddenly rang true. The government feared individualism and curiosity. Because of that, the Russian economy could never compete with Capitalism because it suppressed the very essence of how human society advances. It requires that curiosity to make innovations that expands the economy and raises the standard of living.

Musk’s argument is rooted in what he sees as the logic of productivity and deflation. His reasoning can be broken down as follows.

  1. The core idea is that AI and robots will be capable of performing nearly all physical and cognitive labor at near-zero marginal cost . This would lead to a massive surge in the production of goods and services. However, it would be like Communism lacking that curiosity and this would suppress any advancement.
  2. The resulting supply would vastly outpace the available money supply, causing the prices of everything from food and housing to healthcare and education to plummet towards zero . For example, current productivity might see one worker produce 100 units per day, while one AI could produce 10,000, fundamentally breaking the link between work and survival.

In this state of “post-scarcity,” money, which Musk describes as an “information system for labor allocation,” would lose its purpose. If you can have anything you want without needing to direct someone else’s labor, he assumes that the currency system collapses. He has stated, “I think money will stop being relevant at some point in the future.”

To manage this transition, Musk proposes a “universal high income” (UHI), which goes beyond a basic safety net to ensure a comfortable life for everyone, funded by the massive surplus generated by AI and robots.

As the Right Panics Over ‘Marxists,’ Their Own Leaders Are Openly Seizing the Means of Production

House Speaker Mike Johnson recently took to social media to broadcast an apocalyptic warning, screaming that “the barbarians are inside the gate” and claiming Congress is locked in a life-or-death battle to stop America from sliding down a “dark road of death to communism.” It is the classic, time-tested political playbook used by the establishment for decades to keep the populace paralyzed and compliant. They invent a terrifying, existential boogeyman, claim they are the only thing standing between the voters and total destruction, and hope nobody notices that their own team is running the exact same racket.

This latest iteration of the Red Scare, spearheaded by Donald Trump and his neoconservative cheerleaders, is a masterclass in psychological projection designed to keep the masses blind to a deeply uncomfortable truth. The real threat to economic freedom in America isn’t some foreign Marxist vanguard hiding in the shadows. It is the bipartisan, corporate-state cabal that has already replaced voluntary exchange with top-down central planning while wrapping it tightly in an American flag.

While the political Right whips its base into a frenzy over the creeping threat of left-wing Marxism, the very same “America First” politicians are quietly executing a hostile takeover of the free market. The State operates on an inherent double standard, unapologetically claiming that it is illegal for you to commit murder or theft, while it continuously wages wars that slaughter tens of thousands of innocents and extorts half your income through taxation. That staggering hypocrisy is currently on full display in the realm of economics, where the establishment campaigns on capitalism while ruling as command-economy despots.

During his first term, Trump frequently bypassed market mechanisms entirely, using protectionist tariffs to pick economic winners and losers before doling out a staggering $23 billion in taxpayer-funded farm bailouts to clean up the resulting economic carnage. A comprehensive study by the Cato Institute reveals that the federal government now spends over $181 billion annually on corporate welfare. This massive redistribution of wealth has only grown exponentially under both the Biden and Trump 2.0 administrations, forcing everyday taxpayers to underwrite corporate failures and subsidize favored industries.

The reality of the current administration is a clear line toward what can only be described as corporatism — the merger of corporate and state — marking a radical break from any semblance of a free market. Since taking office in 2025, the administration has weaponized the federal government to directly insert itself into corporate boardrooms. In a move that would make Benito Mussolini jealous, they have abandoned temporary bailouts for proactive, creeping socialism, using taxpayer funds to acquire financial equity stakes in 28 private companies over the past year and a half.

When Socialists Tell You Who They Are, Believe Them

In a Zoom video call in 2023, a leader of the Democratic Socialists of America said, “Our goal is communism.”  It was published as part of a compilation in April 2026.

None of the Democratic Socialists disavowed it.  Nobody posted a “clarifying statement” distancing the DSA from that statement.

So that’s who they are.  Their goal is communism.

The name of that leader is David Jenkins.  He’s a member of the DSA’s National Political Committee, so he ought to know.  

He told us who they are, so we should believe him.

Extreme leftist candidates (including DSA candidates) from past elections include

  • AOC, Rashida Tlaib, Ro Khanna, Ilhan Omar, and Pramila Jayapal.
  • Cory Booker, Ayanna Pressley, Bernie Sanders, and Cori Bush.

Extreme leftist DSA candidates who have popped up in the current cycle:

  • James Talarico in the Senate, who has embraced every nutball LGBTQ/trans theory on the planet, wrapped up in a sugary faux Christian coating.
  • Graham Platner was also running for Senate, after everyone knew about his Nazi tattoo, his active social media account at a site notorious for pedophiles chatting with little kids, and multiple credible allegations from conservative ex-girlfriends.  Platner was finally taken down by another credible allegation, this time from a liberal ex.
  • In the House, a whole tribe of new candidates, including a sociology Ph.D. candidate who started a new “Death to America” campus club, a former associate of the “Blind Sheikh” who masterminded an early bombing attack on the World Trade Center (WTC), and people who think we deserved 9/11.

When people tell you who they are, believe them.

Their strategy is to primary more moderate Dems and take as many of the Democrats’ “safe seats” as possible.  In such races, any actual competition is purely intramural, between Democrat factions.  Republicans always lose these races in November, and sometimes they don’t even bother to run a candidate.  The real battle is the Democrats’ primary.

Cori Bush is the only one from the initial DSA wave of 2016–2022 who “washed out,” by winning primaries for a few years, then losing one to a mainstream Dem.  Clearly, she’s being candid about her DSA identity while she’s trying to get back into House of Representatives.

Recently, her campaign posted a group photo from a July 8 meeting of the St. Louis DSA chapter, showing her next to a communist “influencer” named Christopher Winston.  He calls himself “BlackRedGuard” online and identifies as a Maoist.

This guy thinks landlords should be shot.  He’s suggested he would “execute” a political rival.

Winston can be seen standing next to Bush with a shirt reading “armed minorities.” …

“I’m so proud to have DSA by my side, united in our fight against price gouging, big real estate, and billionaires influencing our politics,” [Bush] said. …

During a stream in March 2024, Winston said that “we’re going to execute you after the revolution” in response to a video leftist activist Shaun King made discussing fraud accusations. Winston said that he hoped that cancer “eats” King’s “a**hole out” and called him an “albino snake.”

In other appearances, Winston argued that “burning a Waymo is not political violence” and argued that landlords should be greeted by “a strongly worded letter in the form of a very hot piece of metal.” …

In other statements, Winston pledged to seize homes from landowners and argued that “the ultimate form of international solidarity is to make revolution in the United States.”

“Communists don’t want to take away your house. We’ll cancel your mortgage. You can have one house, not a dozen. Excess properties will be taken from landlords and distributed to actual families to live in,” he said in one recent post.

When they honestly tell you such things about themselves, believe them.

None of these people thinks America’s institutions have a right to exist in their present form.  America’s institutions, they say, must be torn down and rebuilt into a more diverse socialist/DIE paradise.  These are people who think the destruction of the WTC on 9/11 was not only well deserved, but necessary.  And they think borders shouldn’t exist.

To illustrate this glorious revolutionary mindset, they’re whining about Elon Musk being the world’s first trillionaire.  But I don’t think they would have objected if Hunter Biden had been the world’s first trillionaire.  They have zero interest in cleaning up any of the fraud, greed, waste, graft, and corruption among Democrats.

None of these people thinks Israel has a right to exist at all.  Every square inch of Israel, they say, belongs to the glorious and noble Palestinian people, represented by Hamas and Hezb’allah.  And we found out on October 7, 2023 how that would end.

Cori Bush and other DSA luminaries haven’t distanced themselves from any of Winston’s statements, or challenged the authenticity of that Jenkins video clip.  Their goal is communism.

Lenin’s New Economic Policy: When the Soviets Admitted Socialism Doesn’t Work

A century ago, the Mother Ship of Socialism—the Soviet Union—was teetering on the precipice. The Poles had just vanquished the hopes of dictator Vladimir Lenin to sweep across Europe. Under the bludgeon of Marxist central planning, the economy had collapsed to a fraction of its pre-war dimensions. The country was seething in discontent. Insurrection seemed imminent. Indeed, the month of March 1921 had begun with hungry Soviet soldiers and sailors mounting the Kronstadt Rebellion against the Bolshevik regime.

What was Lenin’s remedy for his unfolding socialist catastrophe? It wasn’t more socialism, at least for the moment. That would be like chasing a glass of tainted water with a gallon of Clorox. Desperate to reverse the consequences of socialism, Lenin turned to their only known antidote—capitalism.

Sunday marked the 100th anniversary of the start of Lenin’s New Economic Policy (NEP). In a stunning about-face on March 21, 1921, the NEP began undoing the previous four years. Expropriation of businesses and the nationalization of industries stopped. Lenin proclaimed a partial restoration of, in his own words, “a free market and capitalism.” Even state-owned firms would seek to operate on a “profit” basis. Individuals could own small enterprises again. Market prices would be permitted in place of state directives.

A little bit of freedom goes a long way. In this instance, it turned the economy around and saved the infant Bolshevik tyranny. But it did not last long. Three years later, Lenin would be dead. Before the end of the decade, Stalin obliterated the NEP with a massive collectivist campaign to re-socialize the economy. Of the NEP, former US national security advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski wrote in his 1989 book, The Grand Failure, “For many Russians, even more than sixty years later, these were the best years of the era ushered in by the revolution of 1917.”

On that March day in 1921, the very day winter bowed to spring, the socialists in Moscow effectively admitted they had to stop stealing. There just was not much left to steal. In a 1990 article, economist Peter Boettke cited a litany of mea culpas from leading Soviet intellectuals, including a most revealing tribute to free market economist Ludwig von Mises from socialist architect Nikolai Bukharin. He grudgingly admitted that Mises’s devastating critique of socialism made him “one of the most learned critics.”
