House Passes Bill Stripping States’ Right to Regulate AI—After FDA OK’s Use of Your Blood and Genetic Data Without Consent

The Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday passed the 1,116-page “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” that removes all 50 states’ right to regulate artificial intelligence (10) for the next ten years.

The only Republican Representatives to vote ‘no’ were Thomas Massie (KY) and Warren Davidson (OH).

Every other GOP member voted to block your state from regulating AI.

The bill reads: “No State or political subdivision thereof may enforce any law or regulation regulating artificial intelligence models… during the 10-year period beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act.” —Sec. 43201(c)(1)

Developed by the House Budget Committee, the legislation prohibits all states from imposing “any substantive design, performance, data-handling, documentation, civil liability, taxation, fee, or other requirement” unless the federal government already does—meaning if the feds don’t regulate it, no one can.

US and Argentina announce plan to create an alternative global health system after withdrawing from WHO

The US Health and Human Services Secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and his Argentine counterpart, Minister of Health Mario Lugones, have signed a joint declaration reaffirming their countries’ withdrawals from the World Health Organisation (“WHO”) and announcing plans to create an alternative international health system.

The new system aims to be grounded in scientific integrity, transparency, sovereignty and accountability, with Kennedy and Lugones stating that their withdrawal from WHO marks the beginning of a new path towards building a modern global health cooperation model.

During his visit to Buenos Aires, Argentina, Kennedy met with Lugones and Argentine President Javier Milei to discuss key health priorities – including healthcare reform, addressing chronic disease and their new global health collaboration – to define a joint work agenda that will strengthen transparency and trust in the health system.

Lugones expressed his shared vision with Kennedy, stating that they believe in the future of collaboration in global health and have similar visions about the path forward, with the declaration expressing a shared vision of the challenges facing the region’s health systems and the measures needed to transform them.

Israeli Drone Strike Killed South Lebanon Municipal Worker Fixing Water Well

Israel continues to carry out its daily airstrikes against southern Lebanon, and continues to claim they’re killing Hezbollah figures despite evidence to the contrary. Thursday, the deadly drone strike came against the town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa.

The strike hit a forest on the town’s periphery, killing one person who Israel described as a “Hezbollah terrorist” and was working on restoring some sort of Hezbollah site involved in firing on Israeli territory. That’s the official Israeli story at least, and as usual, they provided no evidence to confirm it.

Mayor Zein Ali Ghandour was quick to offer a correction, however. Ghandour reported that the man killed was Mahmoud Hasan Atwi, a municipal employee, and that he was in the forest to work on a water well in the area.

This is just the latest of several thousand Israeli ceasefire violations since the truce went into effect in November. Those strikes have killed over 200 people, most of whom have never been conclusively identified.

The IDF though, when it comments at all on who they killed, virtually always declares the slain to be Hezbollah commander of some sort or another, and declares their very existence to be a violation of the ceasefire.

Since the ceasefire, Hezbollah has not launched a single strike on Israel. The group has handed over functionally all of its sites south of the Litani River to the Lebanese Army, and the Lebanese government reported some 80% of those sites have already been dismantled.

It’s difficult to say Lebanon will ever destroy all those sites to Israeli satisfaction, however, because every time a Lebanese government bulldozer is clearing a farmer’s field, Israel declares it to be the revitalization of a Hezbollah infrastructure and attacks the bulldozer.

OMG: Nevada DHHS Specialist Caught on Camera Admitting to “Bending the Rules” to Provide Benefits for Illegal Aliens

The O’Keefe Media Group on Thursday released undercover video of a Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Division of Welfare and Supportive Services specialist admitting to bending the rules to provide benefits for illegal aliens.

“I get them emergency medical all the time… I just approve them for 12 months because I can,” Nevada DHHS specialist Deshaun Eli Mack said.

“Even undocumented people from Mexico and things; I can still get them benefits,” he said.

Per O’Keefe Media Group:

Deshaun Eli Mack, a Family Services Specialist with the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), has been caught on hidden camera admitting to intentionally violating state policies to provide government-funded benefits to undocumented immigrants.

Mack detailed how he manipulates the system to offer extended emergency Medicaid coverage to illegals, stating, “I get them emergency medical all the time… just because I want to.”

According to Mack, emergency Medicaid for undocumented immigrants is supposed to be granted on a month-to-month basis and only for severe, qualifying conditions. However, he confessed that he bypasses this process entirely. “They’re supposed to apply every month,” he said, “so I just approve them for 12 months… because I can.”

When asked if that kind of discretion was allowed, Mack responded bluntly: “I make it so. I bend the rules a lot.” He added later, “I will twist and turn our provisions to fit the way that I want them to be.”

Mack also acknowledged a culture within the agency of avoiding cooperation with federal immigration authorities, stating, “We would never call ICE. We do not work with them ever.”

When pressed on whether this behavior amounted to subverting the law, Mack didn’t hesitate: “I do that a lot.”

Deshaun Mack initially told OMG: “I don’t [break the law], because I’m not.”

France BANS smoking in nearly all outdoor spaces

France will ban smoking in all outdoor places that can be frequented by children, like beaches, parks and bus stops, the health and family minister said on Thursday.

‘Where there are children, tobacco must disappear,’ Catherine Vautrin said in an interview published by regional outlet Ouest-France.

The restrictions will come into force on July 1, and failure to comply with the draconian ban could result in a £114 fine, the minister said, adding that children have the ‘right to breathe clean air.’

Cigarettes will also be banned in areas close to schools to prevent students from ‘smoking in front of their establishments.’

The ban does not apply to cafe terraces – or include electronic cigarettes.

The government’s National Anti-Tobacco Programme for 2023 to 2027 proposed a smoking ban similar to the one announced by Vautrin, calling for France to ‘rise to the challenge of a tobacco-free generation from 2032.’

But anti-tobacco organisations had voiced concern the authorities were dragging their feet on implementing the measures.

Vautrin said there were no plans to place additional taxes on cigarettes ‘at the moment’.

Trump’s Pardon for Former Virginia Sheriff Who Exchanged Badges for Cash Makes a Mockery of ‘Law and Order’

“We must maintain law and order at the highest level, or we will cease to have a country, 100 percent,” said Donald Trump, then a candidate for president, at a 2016 rally in Virginia Beach. “We will cease to have a country. I am the law and order candidate.”

It’s a theme that would continue for nearly a decade, up to the present day. “We have to get law and order back,” he said in April 2024, during his third campaign for the presidency. “We have to bring law and order back to our cities, back to our country, and we’re doing it,” he told a crowd in August of that same year. “But when I get back into the Oval Office,” he said the following month, “the madness ends, and the law and order is going to return to our country.”

If the full, unconditional pardon now-President Trump recently gave to disgraced ex-Sheriff Scott Jenkins is any indication, then the madness unfortunately has not ended.

Jenkins, formerly of the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office, was convicted last year of accepting over $75,000 in cash bribes from several businessmen in exchange for Jenkins appointing them as auxiliary deputy sheriffs, a sworn law enforcement position. He did not train or vet them; for their money, Jenkins gave the bribers badges and credentials, which recipients used in interesting ways, like to get out of traffic tickets and obtain other special privileges.

“Sheriff Scott Jenkins, his wife Patricia, and their family have been dragged through HELL by a Corrupt and Weaponized Biden DOJ,” Trump posted on TruthSocial in announcing the pardon. He added that Jenkins allegedly wanted to offer additional evidence in his defense during trial, but the judge “refused to allow it, shut him down, and then went on a tirade.”

The Office of the Pardon Attorney did not respond to a request for comment clarifying what that was, but a judge improperly blocking exculpatory evidence is an issue for an appeal, not a pardon. In any case, the evidence against Jenkins was, by every measure, overwhelming. Rick Rahim, a convicted felon, testified that he bribed Jenkins with $25,000 in cash and an additional loan (which was never repaid) so he could be sworn in as an auxiliary deputy. One video shows Jenkins accepting a $5,000 check from a businessman and then adding, “I’m going to make it official with a badge.” Another photo presented at trial shows Jenkins holding a gift bag; a recording caught businessman Kevin Rychlik, an associate of Jenkins, saying, “You have cash from him in the bag.” Two undercover law enforcement officers also testified that Jenkins accepted bribes from them in exchange for being deputized.

A jury in December found Jenkins guilty on 12 counts: one count of conspiracy, four counts of honest services fraud, and seven counts of bribery. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

To argue that a pardon here is in service of “law and order”—as opposed to a rejection of it—is to pervert the meaning of that term at a fundamental level. Law and order is vital to a functioning society. If it stands for anything, it cannot exempt the very people who are charged with its application. If the rule of law only applies to the little guy, then it isn’t worth much. “With great power comes no responsibility” is not a phrase that has gained much traction throughout the ages for its wisdom.

So why pardon Jenkins, particularly when considering the stated justification—that he couldn’t offer a certain piece of evidence in his defense—strains credulity? “No MAGA left behind,” Pardon Attorney Ed Martin, whose nomination for U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia recently failed to attract enough support in the Senate, said Monday on X. “Thank you, @potus Trump, for pardoning Sheriff Jenkins!”

CBC Brags About Shutting Down Popular Political Clips YouTube Channel

A rising Canadian YouTube channel that had been pulling major traction has suddenly been banned following an aggressive report from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), which labeled the channel a “content farm” and reached out to YouTube directly. Not long after, the channel was gone.

“It’s just one example of what experts refer to as the ‘content’ or “engagement” farming phenomenon, in which individuals or organizations tailor their content to tap into the algorithm of the platform and boost their popularity,” the CBC explained in an article, as if this isn’t something that most YouTubers do.

Real Talk Politiks, the creator behind the now-deleted account, took to X on Sunday to reveal what happened, pointing the finger at government-aligned media and tech collusion.

“CBC, Canada’s state-funded media just got YouTube to terminate my channel — not for breaking rules, but for having the wrong political views,” the post read.

Despite operating without strikes, policy violations, or deceptive content flags, the channel was wiped.

What sparked the removal, according to CBC’s own report, was an AI-generated video of Ronald Reagan that allegedly lacked a clear label; something that might typically warrant a correction or warning, not a digital purge.

The CBC leaned into the narrative, bragging about its work in getting the channel shut down, and published a YouTube video titled “How we shut down one of Canada’s biggest news ‘content farms’.”

Kentucky Governor Launches Medical Marijuana Dispensary Map Ahead Of Market Launch And Waives Patient Renewal Fees

The governor of Kentucky has announced a new online directory that lets people see where medical cannabis dispensaries will be opening near them—and he signed an executive order to waive renewal fees for patients who get their cards this year so that they don’t get charged again before retailers open.

During a press briefing on Thursday, Gov. Andy Beshear (D) shared a series of developments as the state prepares for the rollout of its medical cannabis program that he signed into law in 2023.

“Since taking office, we’ve been committed to providing access to health care and creating safe communities for all Kentuckians,” he said. “One of our priorities was securing medical cannabis for Kentuckians suffering from cancer, from PTSD, from chronic pain and other conditions.”

Beshear emphasized that the state has been working to deliver access to patients “at the earliest possible date,” and that involved expediting the licensing process. The governor in January also ceremonially awarded the commonwealth’s first medical marijuana cards.

A majority of approved licensees have been inspected and approved, the governor said, adding that “there’s going to be a dispensary point for all patients.” And to that end, the state’s Office of Medical Cannabis has created an interactive map for patients to find their nearest dispensary

“None of these dispensaries are open yet, but you can go ahead and see where the dispensaries will be located so that you can make plans, when they’re open, how you’re going to secure your medical cannabis,” the governor said.

Ancient DNA Study Uncovers Mysterious “Ghost” Lineage in Tibet

Discovery of a 7,100-Year-Old Genetic Enigma

A recent genomic analysis of over 100 ancient individuals from China has revealed a previously unknown “ghost” lineage, shedding light on the genetic diversity of early populations in the region. The findings, published on May 29 in the journal Science, center on a 7,100-year-old female skeleton unearthed at the Xingyi archaeological site in China’s Yunnan province.

The study, led by researchers including paleontologist Qiaomei Fu from the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology in Beijing, examined 127 ancient human genomes, most dating between 1,400 and 7,150 years ago. The oldest individual, a woman referred to as Xingyi_EN, provided crucial insights into an elusive ancestral group that may have contributed to modern Tibetan populations.

Tracing the Origins of Tibetans

One of the key questions in East Asian prehistory has been the origins of Tibetan populations. Previous research indicated that Tibetans possess a mix of northern East Asian ancestry and an unidentified genetic component—now potentially linked to the newly discovered ghost lineage.

Xingyi_EN, a hunter-gatherer from the Early Neolithic period, exhibited ancestry distinct from other East and South Asians. Instead, her DNA aligned more closely with a deeply diverged Asian population that had remained genetically isolated for millennia.

The Basal Asian Xingyi Lineage

The researchers identified Xingyi_EN as part of a previously unknown lineage, which they named the Basal Asian Xingyi lineage. This group is believed to have separated from other human populations at least 40,000 years ago and remained genetically distinct due to prolonged isolation.

Unlike Neanderthals or Denisovans—archaic humans known to have contributed DNA to modern populations—this ghost lineage represents a unique branch in human ancestry. “The possible isolation allowed this ancestry to persist without apparent admixture with other populations,” Fu explained in an email to Live Science.

Genetic Legacy in Modern Tibetans

At some point, descendants of the Basal Asian Xingyi lineage interbred with other East Asian groups, introducing their genetic material into the ancestral Tibetan gene pool. “The mixed population has lasted for quite a long time and contributed genes to some Tibetans today,” Fu noted.

However, the researchers caution that these conclusions are based on a single individual’s genome. Further studies with additional samples will be necessary to confirm the relationship between this ancient lineage and modern Tibetan populations.

Democratic Socialists of America ‘Liberation Caucus’ praises assassination of Israeli diplomats in DC

The Democratic Socialists of America’s Liberation Caucus has advocated for Elias Rodriguez, the “free Palestine” agitator who is the suspect in the shooting of two Israeli Embassy employees in Washington, DC. The DSA Liberation Caucus referred to Rodriguez as a “political prisoner.”

Rodriguez was arrested right after the killings and was charged with two counts of first-degree murder. He is alleged to have stood over Sara Milgrim, 26, and shot her repeatedly as she tried to crawl away, going as far as to reload just to keep shooting her. Rodriguez is also charged with the murder of Yaron Lischinsky, Milgrim’s soon-to-be fiance, who was gunned down outside the Jewish Museum at Milgrim’s side.

In addition to his activism against Israel, Rodriguez was revealed to be in favor of the “genocide of white people.”

“Lol you probably would have to actually genocide white people to make this a normal country,” Rodriguez wrote to his friends. “Like even a very targeted and selective rehabilitation program would probably have to lead to the lifetime imprisonments of tens of millions of white people,” Rodriguez added.

The Liberation Caucus wrote, “Excellent statement that we are proud to add our name to. Free Elias Rodriguez and all political prisoners.” Rodriguez shouted “free, free Palestine” as he was led away in handcuffs after police were called to the scene of the murders.
