…And The Legacy Media Wonders Why Nobody Trusts Them

Last year when I was asked to write a chapter for a US book on the incredible inroads and attacks on our civil liberties during the thuggish Covid lockdown years I decided, in part, to rank the worst offending groups. The lawyerly and doctorly castes were bad. They were woeful in fact. But the politicians as a class, the ones who ultimately made the calls, were worse – and there were very few exceptions to that generalised claim, as any Australian knows who looks for politicians who, say, resigned from Cabinet on principle (nada, zero) or who spoke up publicly and loudly against the massive authoritarian over-reach and aping of the policies of the Chinese Communist Politburo (a mere handful at most).

So I gave the silver medal for thuggish lockdown commitment and stalwart thuggery to the political class. However, in terms of letting all of us citizens down I reserved the gold medal for the journalists of the legacy media. As a class they exhibited no scepticism. No thinking for themselves. They were fearmongers and PR agents for the modellers, public health gurus, ‘nudge’ manipulators and politicos. Yes, there were some brave exceptions. But very few. What we got from the legacy media was a sort of attempt to play the type of media you’d see in George Orwell’s 1984, dealing in Big Brother doublethink. And all of that is on top of the verifiably huge drift towards the political Left of the legacy media over the last few decades.

Well, if you were hoping things would get noticeably better after the lockdowns ended, they haven’t.

For just one instance, let me take you to the murders of two young children and the wounding of at least 17 others in Minneapolis, Minnesota last week. It took place at a Catholic school with the murderer shooting at random through a stained-glass window during the first school mass of the academic year. The legacy media embarrassed itself reporting on this because it went against all the progressive class’s and legacy media’s (but I repeat myself) deeply held shibboleths and Left-wing bromides. You see the murderer was a man, Robert Westman, who back in 2020 had changed his first name to Robin and come out as transgender. He said he was now a female. And he hated Donald Trump. And he left behind a sort of manifesto that oozed antisemitism along with other bits of nastiness.

Sanctuary Rescuing 47 Beagles from Chinese Testing Lab

In a daring and costly mission dubbed Operation Freedom Fetchers, Wyoming’s Kindness Ranch Animal Sanctuary has begun the process of rescuing 47 beagles from a research facility in China — dogs believed to be connected to American-owned or funded experiments.

The first group of ten beagles touched down in Los Angeles on August 25, after a grueling flight from Shanghai, a night at a Centers for Disease Control quarantine facility, and a 20-hour van ride to the sanctuary in Hartville, Wyoming.

For sanctuary director John Ramer, the moment was bittersweet.

“This isn’t just about ten dogs. It’s about exposing the secrecy and cruelty of billion-dollar institutions that profit off the suffering of man’s best friend,” he said in a Facebook post.

Ramer first learned of the beagles in May, when a contact at the group White Coat Waste alerted him to their plight and connected him with others involved in the rescue attempt. After securing video proof and documentation, Kindness Ranch agreed to take on the challenging and costly rescue.

Fentanyl Financiers: Treasury Links Mexican Banks and Chinese Networks to Cartel Money Laundering

The U.S. Department of the Treasury is stepping up its efforts to identify the ways that drug cartels move their funds. Most recently, Treasury officials identified the presence of Chinese money laundering networks that are working with Mexican drug cartels and other criminal entities to move large sums of cash.

In a series of notices from the U.S. Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, authorities warned financial institutions about the methods that criminal organizations are using to launder money. According to FinCEN, investigators reviewed 137,153 Bank Secrecy Act reports from 2020 to 2024, identifying $312 billion in suspicious transactions tied to Chinese money laundering networks.

Of significant concern to FinCEN is the apparent ties between Mexican drug cartels and Chinese money laundering groups. The report comes just weeks after FinCEN and the U.S. Treasury sanctioned two Mexican banks and one brokerage firm that they alleged had been laundering money for various drug cartels and had also been helping funnel money into China to pay for fentanyl precursors, Breitbart Texas reported at the time.

The ties between drug cartels and Chinese groups are fueled in part by currency laws in both Mexico and China, which limit the amount of U.S. dollars that can be deposited and moved in Mexico, as well as China’s control of international currency within its country. Treasury officials claim that money laundering groups from China buy U.S. dollars from drug cartels and then sell them further ahead to Chinese individuals or businesses who are trying to evade China’s cash control laws.

‘Coalition of the Willing’ Ready to Deliver Long-Range Missiles to Ukraine — What Could Go Wrong?

Members of the “Coalition of the Willing” have expressed their readiness to supply Ukraine with long-range missiles, the Downing Street said on Thursday.

The meeting took place in Paris earlier on Thursday in a hybrid format, chaired by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron.

“The Prime Minister also welcomed announcements from Coalition of the Willing partners to supply long range missiles to Ukraine to further bolster the country’s supplies,” the prime minister’s office said in a statement.

Russian President Vladimir Putin previously stated that Ukrainian forces could only carry out such operations with NATO personnel involved, signaling direct Western participation in the conflict. This could fundamentally change the nature of the confrontation, with NATO members effectively fighting against Russia.

HHS Will Link Autism To Tylenol Use During Pregnancy, Wall Street Journal Reports

U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. plans to announce that autism is linked to the use of Tylenol during pregnancy in a report expected to be released this month, The Wall Street Journal reported today.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will also likely suggest that low levels of the vitamin folate also contribute to autism. The report will propose that a form of folate called folic acid, or leucovorin, can be used to treat symptoms of the disorder, according to the WSJ.

Acetaminophen, the ingredient found in hundreds of prescription and over-the-counter medicines — including Tylenol products — is routinely recommended for fever reduction and the relief of mild to moderate pain. Pregnant women commonly take it.

The drug has long been linked to liver toxicity, and several studies over the last decade — including one published last month by researchers at Harvard Medical School — have found that children exposed to the drug during pregnancy may be more likely to develop neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder or ADHD.

Shares of Tylenol, made by McNeil Consumer Healthcare, a division of Kenvue, declined nearly 11% Friday after the WSJ published its report.

“Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of the people who use our products,” a Kenvue spokeswoman told the WSJ. “We have continuously evaluated the science and continue to believe there is no causal link between acetaminophen use during pregnancy and autism.”

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) says Tylenol is safe to use in pregnancy. In 2021, as more evidence of the link was emerging, the organization published a statement opposing a consensus statement supported by a group of 91 scientists in the journal Nature Reviews Endocrinology. The scientists said that a growing body of research suggests that prenatal exposure to the drug may alter fetal development and increase the risks of neurodevelopmental, reproductive and urogenital disorders.

“ACOG and obstetrician-gynecologists across the country have always identified acetaminophen as one of the only safe pain relievers for pregnant individuals during pregnancy,” the pharmaceutical industry-sponsored medical organization insisted.

Fake Students Plague California Community Colleges, Displacing Real Enrollees

California’s community colleges are grappling with a surge in fraudulent enrollments, with 1.2 million fake applicants last year accounting for nearly 30 percent of new students, blocking real students from classes and costing millions in stolen financial aid, according to college officials.

The problem, exacerbated by the shift to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, affects at least 90 of the state’s 116 campuses, said Marvin Martinez, chancellor of the Rancho Santiago Community College District, and Jeannie Kim, president of Santiago Canyon College.

Before the pandemic, most classes were in-person, making fraud more difficult, Martinez said. But with 80 percent of courses moving online, bots and fake students can enroll from anywhere, including other states or countries.

“It’s happened on a massive scale,” Martinez told Epoch TV’s California Insider host Siyamak Khorrami.

“What’s made this situation of fraudulent enrollment so different than anything that I’ve seen before in my 36 years in higher ed is that it’s happened in almost 80 percent now of the campuses.”

At Santiago Canyon College, fall 2024 enrollment initially spiked 10 percent to 13 percent, Kim said, but faculty discovered many registrants were fraudulent. In one anthropology course, administrators raised the enrollment cap by 30 daily, only for bots to fill slots instantly, leaving just 12 to 15 genuine students.

Faculty identified fakes through non-engagement, identical assignments, or invalid contact details, like phone numbers tied to businesses or defunct entities. Removing fraudulent enrollments cut the college’s headcount by 10,000 to 12,000 spots, with some bad actors enrolled in up to five classes each.

The fallout is severe. Real students are denied access to required courses, delaying graduations, certificates, and transfers to four-year universities.

Gates-Funded Study Confirms 27% Higher Risk of Heart Injury in Influenza-Vaccinated Compared to Unvaccinated: ‘The Lancet’

A massive new study funded in part by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and published last week in The Lancet’s eClinicalMedicine provides evidence that seniors vaccinated for influenza experienced more heart injuries, not fewer.

The findings come after U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. cut American funding to Bill Gates’ vaccine syndicate Gavi, citing a 2017 study showing the DTP shot “may kill more children from other causes than it saves” from diphtheria, tetanus, or pertussis.

The new influenza vaccine study analyzed over 8.1 million Chinese adults aged 65 and older between 2020 and 2022.

Out of those, just 170,011 received an influenza vaccine, while more than 8 million remained unvaccinated.

Researchers then tracked the rate of major cardiovascular events in each group.

The Raw Data Tell the Story

The most striking finding comes from the crude numbers.

When researchers looked at acute coronary syndromes (ACS)—a category that includes heart attacks, unstable angina, and other sudden cardiac events—the results were blunt:

  • Vaccinated: 26.4 events per 1,000 person-years
  • Unvaccinated: 26.3 events per 1,000 person-years
  • Crude incidence rate ratio (IRR): 1.27 (95% CI: 1.24–1.31)

That figure means vaccinated seniors had a 27% higher risk of heart injury compared to the unvaccinated.

This is the kind of red-flag signal that would normally demand urgent investigation. Instead, the authors buried it under layers of statistical adjustments.

China Capitalism Myth: CCP Controls Companies, Capital, and Stock Market

China apologists often claim that China is no longer communist, but such claims are complete nonsense, reflecting an incredibly selective and superficial analysis of what the reality is in China. For one thing, the ruling party is the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). And the name was not chosen arbitrarily. It is a communist country.

Apart from the CCP, there are 8 minor parties, but these parties have to concede to the ruling role of the CCP, meaning it would technically be illegal for one of them to plan or even suggest that they should replace the CCP as the ruling party. So politically, China is 100% communist.

As for the economic system, with the state controlling more than half of all companies, it can hardly be considered capitalist.

Most media and many economists mistakenly claim that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) controls only a limited share of the economy, citing the percentage of firms directly owned by the state. But focusing narrowly on state-owned enterprises (SOEs) hides the much broader reality: state control extends through multiple layers of ownership, networks, and connections, reaching the majority of China’s corporate sector.

Of 40 million registered firms in China, about 391,000 are 100% state-owned (SOEs), 629,000 are at least 30 percent state-owned, and nearly 867,000 have some level of state ownership. Altogether, the capital of firms with state stakes accounted for about 68 percent of the economy in 2017.

State owned firms can own significant shares in other firms, extending the states reach. Scholars have identified 978,609 firms within three degrees of separation from an SOE and more than 3.5 million firms indirectly tied through joint ventures. Among the top 1,000 private owners in China, 78 percent are state-connected, 63 percent directly and 14 percent indirectly.

If mixed-ownership models are included, where SOEs hold a 30 percent stake or maintain indirect equity ties, the total number of state-connected firms ranges from 600,000 to 3.5 million. SOEs also use enterprise groups to spin off subsidiaries, list them on stock exchanges, and bring in private capital while retaining state control.

This state dominance has accelerated. Between 2000 and 2019, the number of private owners directly connected to the state nearly tripled, while indirect connections grew even faster. By 2022, 71 percent of Chinese companies on the Fortune 500 list were state-owned, rising to 84 percent by asset size. By 2021, 54% of China’s largest firms were state owned.

Post-COVID Canada shows excess deaths continue to surge

The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) has released a meticulously sourced 54-page report titled “Post-COVID Canada: The Rise in Unexpected Deaths.”

This explosive document depicts Canada’s post-pandemic landscape where excess deaths have skyrocketed since the era of draconian lockdowns, mask mandates, and vaccine coercion. Yet, health bureaucrats and politicians remain eerily silent, content to pat themselves on the back while burying inconvenient data.

President of the JCCF, John Carpay, dissects this crisis and highlights how many continue to cling to a flawed narrative.

“Well, thus far we’re not really seeing much interest yet on the part of public health officials and politicians,” Carpay said. “They seem to be quite happy with the narrative that COVID was not just a bad annual flu, but it was an unusually deadly killer, and it killed lots of people, and now COVID is over. Lockdowns were wonderful. Vaccines are still safe and effective, and ‘nothing to see here, folks. Let’s just move on.’”

The report draws on official government data from Statistics Canada to reveal these shocking trends.

COVID deaths, for instance, actually increased post-vaccination instead of declining.

“In 2020, in the first year of COVID, we had about 16,000 COVID deaths in 2020, according to Statistics Canada,” Carpay explained. “And this jumped up to 20,000 COVID deaths in 2022, after everybody got vaccinated.”

This 20% spike raises glaring questions about vaccine efficacy, especially as mandates fueled division and discrimination.

Even more alarming is the surge in non-COVID deaths among younger demographics. “We also had a startling and unexplained rise in deaths from Canadians under the age of 45,” Carpay noted. “The death rates went up for Canadians under age 45, jumped by more than a third.” Tens of thousands more young Canadians perished in 2022 and 2023 compared to pre-COVID years. Drug overdoses soared by 55%, from 4,500 annual deaths pre-lockdown to nearly 7,000—a tragic escalation that persists to this day.

Children, too, have suffered inexplicably. “Those deaths have increased by 16%,” Carpay said of kids aged 1-14. “In 2022, there were just under 800 children ages one to 14 who died.” This permanent uptick cries out for scrutiny, potentially linked to lockdown-induced mental health crises, obesity, isolation, and novel pharmaceutical products never before unleashed on the general public.

Adding to the crisis, unknown causes now account for 15% of young Canadian deaths in 2022—astronomically high, with autopsies performed only 6% of the time.

Massachusetts School District Under Investigation for Forcing Kids to Take Graphic Sex and Gender Surveys, Ignoring Opt-Out Requests in Violation of Parental Rights

The Department of Education has launched a formal investigation into Burlington Public Schools in Massachusetts, following parents’ accusations that the district ignored their opt-out requests and forced students to participate in the 2025 Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS).

The probe, initiated by the Department’s Student Privacy Policy Office (SPPO), is investigating potential violations of the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA). This federal law guarantees parents the right to exempt their children from surveys that ask for sensitive, private information.

The YRBS, administered to students at Marshall Simonds Middle School and Burlington High School in March, included explicit questions on topics like drug and alcohol use, mental health, sexual encounters, sexual orientation, and “gender identity.”

Parents were notified in advance about their opt-out rights, and several submitted written requests to exclude their children from the survey. Despite this, the district allegedly required the opted-out students to take it anyway, with at least one teacher reportedly forcing a student to participate over clear objections.

Screenshots of the survey questions, provided in a complaint filed by the Massachusetts Family Institute (MFI) and parents, reveal the invasive nature of the content.
