No, The Truth Is Not Just Another Story

“The Democrats are self-immolating on the altar of their own tenuous relationship with common decency.”

– Tom Luongo

It must be obvious that the incoming government under Mr. Trump has one primary duty overall: sorting out truth from lies so the nation can reestablish a baseline reality to function upon. America is so punch-drunk from official lying that many intelligent people who ought to know better now proclaim that reality is unknowable, which is just a surrender to nihilism — the rejection of moral principle, a belief that the human project is meaningless.

This awful condition has led to the point where you know for sure that “Joe Biden” cannot possibly discharge his duties as chief executive, and yet nobody cares enough to investigate who is running things behind the front he puts up. That would generally be the job of the news media, which is supposed to function as the public’s auditor. Now, of course, you are persuaded that this was never really their job, that it was a sham, but that is just another lie.

The news was not flawless, but neither was it presented as nothing more than opinion. The news existed to register what happened day-to-day. It was not so much concerned with why things happened, which was much more difficult to establish, and usually reserved for the pages labeled “opinion,” so that you knew it was somebody’s conjecture. I know this because I worked as a newspaper reporter in the 1970s. I actually found out what was going on about this-and-that, wrote it up, and saw it in print hours later. The facts.

Journalism had some simple rules for reporting the facts about anything — and it’s hilarious that anyone thought it required a graduate degree from some credentialing mill like the Columbia U. School of Journalism. The news was often meddled-with by interested parties, government and business, but they did not completely overwhelm the ant-like labors of x-thousands of reporters in the field, and the stream of fact they circulated.

Not all of it was subject to dispute, meddling, or opinion because it was self-evident: Joe Blow got shot. . . a helicopter crashed in Ohio. . . a volcano erupted in Peru. . . .

Only over time, the past thirty years especially, our government grew and grew and one of the things that grew out of it was the nefarious “blob” dedicated to protecting the self-enlarging perquisites and interests of that government. Blobs will absorb things they encounter, and in a predatory way, the US government blob absorbed the US news media. The blob transformed the news into an engine for suppressing the facts or spinning them narratively when they could not be suppressed, in order to maximize the advantage of the government and to protect the operations of the blob itself.

It is also a fact that this blob is aligned mostly with Democratic Party, because that party is most avid for the continuing growth of government, and its members overwhelmingly dominate in the officialdom that dwells inside the DC Beltway.

The numbers speak for themselves on the DC voter rolls.

So, a new government under Mr. Trump is feared cringingly by the news media.

Be Warned: The Dems Aren’t Finished Hatching Schemes to Keep Trump From Taking Office

Throughout the 2024 campaign, Democrats insisted that we simply had to vote for Kamala Harris or else the nation would descend into the fascist rule of Bad Orange Man, the most dangerous enemy of “our democracy” since the reigns of terror of his good friends and role models Adolf Hitler and Genghis Khan. It was all bunkum, of course, and an extended use of the old tactic of accusing the enemy of what they were guilty of doing, as it was the Biden-Harris regime that took actual steps to criminalize opposition to its policies. And now, even after their disastrous electoral defeat, the defenders of democracy are still hatching plans to subvert the will of the people and prevent Donald Trump from returning to the Oval Office.

The Daily Caller reported Friday that political analyst Mark Halperin has warned that “as President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration approaches, efforts to block him from assuming office will intensify.” As prophecies go, this is an easy one, more on the order of “The sun will rise tomorrow morning” than, say, “The Chicago White Sox will win the 2025 World Series.” As the great leftist-turned-patriot David Horowitz correctly noted, “Inside every progressive is a totalitarian screaming to get out.” And so the most suitable response to Halperin’s prediction can only be “Well, duh.”

The Caller pointed out that “in a Thursday column for The Hill, liberal attorneys Evan Davis and David Schulte argued that Congress can still prevent Trump from taking office on Jan. 20 by rejecting electoral votes on Jan. 6, claiming Trump is disqualified under the 14th Amendment.” As our friend Matt Margolis noted, also on Thursday, Davis and Schulte don’t “cover much new ground.” Their column “references Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which disqualifies individuals who have engaged in insurrection from holding office, despite the fact that Trump did no such thing. Heck, he hasn’t even been charged with such an offense, and when you consider the fact that rogue left-wing prosecutors have charged him with all sorts of made-up crimes, that says something.”

Still, the fact that leftists are still floating this 14th Amendment nonsense indicates that they’re still trying to figure out some way to prevent Trump from walking back into the Oval Office on Jan. 20, 2025. Halperin observed: “It seems ill-timed, not just not in the spirit of the holiday season, but also given where we are in the transition cycle … we’re gonna see more of this. I think the left has been a little bit shocked by the election results. And I think as the reality of January 20th gets closer, I think you’ll see more opinionizing just like this.”

Halperin maintained that in scheming to thwart the will of the people, leftists were simply acting in accord with the will of the people. Asked why The Hill ran such an article, he answered: “I try not to speculate on people’s motives if I don’t have reporting, so I don’t really know. But again, The Hill likes to get attention, so that could be part of it. But it also reflects a point of view that’s held by tens of millions of Americans … I think that you’re gonna see more manifestations like this as we get closer to inauguration day.”

The problem is that leftists have floated this insurrection business before, and gotten nowhere. As Matt pointed out, Trump hasn’t been convicted of leading or supporting an insurrection. In fact, he hasn’t even been charged with doing so, and the Democrats certainly would have done so if they had thought they could get away with it. Many people don’t believe that what happened on Jan. 6, 2021, was an insurrection at all. Thus if Trump were really barred from taking office on those grounds, it would be a case of leftists going way out on a limb on the basis of a tangle of unsupported and highly partisan assertions.

Michelle Obama Provokes Backlash With Social Media Post: ‘I Know it’s Been a Difficult Few Months for So Many of Us’

Former First Lady Michelle Obama is getting an earful over a video message she recently posted on the social media site Instagram.

In her message, Mrs. Obama uses the expression ‘Happy Holidays’ instead of Merry Christmas, then goes on to suggest that things have been ‘difficult’ for many people over the last few months, a clear reference to the election of Donald Trump.

She then goes on to push various programs offered by the Obama Foundation.

Many people were unimpressed.

FOX News reports:

Michelle Obama provoked a wave of online criticism Friday after she shared a New Year’s message with her followers on Instagram.

The former first lady posted a video wishing her followers “Happy Holidays” and highlighting the work of the Obama Presidential Center as 2024 comes to a close. But critics noted with disapproval that her video begins on a sour note.

“Happy holidays, everyone. I know it’s been a difficult few months for so many of us, and that folks are feeling a little bit anxious and uncertain,” Obama says in the video.

Hundreds of Instagram users commented on Obama’s video within hours after it went live.

Here are some examples of the pushback she received:

“A difficult few years from the damage the Biden administration has caused!” wrote another commenter. “Things have never looked better since Trum won the election! The people have the power! Not even all those celebrities could change that!”

“We are certain it won’t be worse than your husband’s administration or the Biden administration,” said a third. “That we are CERTAIN.”

Trump spokesperson rips Dems for wanting to ‘steal the election’ after op-ed argues Congress can block him from White House

Donald Trump’s communications director Steven Cheung blasted the premise that Congress could block the incoming president from assuming power — calling it a “threat to Democracy” on Thursday.

The Hill published an op-ed with the headline, “Congress has the power to block Trump from taking office, but lawmakers must act now,” pushing that those who engaged in an insurrection against the Constitution should be banned from assuming power.

“Oh, look. Democrats want to steal the election and invalidate the will of the American people,” Cheung wrote on X in response to the op-ed.

“Threat to Democracy.”

“Here are two idiots inciting an insurrection …Remember the names: Congress has the power to block Trump from taking office, but lawmakers must act now,” Chris LaCivita, a former 2024 campaign Trump adviser, also wrote.

“You people are sick,” Trump’s middle son, Eric, chimed in.

“Such a crazy thing for them to say. Legacy media is just the propaganda arm of the radical left,” Trump ally Elon Musk wrote in response to the scion’s tweet.

The Hill article notes that the 14th Amendment in the Constitution states, “No person shall … hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any state, who, having previously taken an oath … to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.”

Sen. John Fetterman Expertly Shuts Down ABC Hack Suggesting Donald Trump May Be a Fascist

Sen. John Fetterman is pushing back against hysteric left-wing claims that Donald Trump is a fascist.

In an interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl, the Pennsylvania Senator started by reflecting on the political talent that Trump showed following the first assassination attempt against him.

“After you survived an assassination, you literally were shot in your head and had the presence of mind to respond, you know, fight, fight, fight. I mean, that’s a political talent.”

“It’s undeniable. And also, I never believed that it was about fascism. And for me, that made it difficult.”

Karl then interjected by pointing out that Kamala Harris had described Trump as a “fascist” during her ill-fated presidential campaign.

“Yeah, well, it’s like that’s her prerogative,” he responded. “I mean, but it’s not a word that I would use because you put a lot of Democrats, especially in my state, that I know and I happen to love people that are going to vote for Trump. And they are not fascists.

“Fascist, that’s not a word that regular people use,” Fetterman continued. “I think people are going to decide who is the candidate that’s going to protect and project, you know, my version of the American way of life. And that’s what happened.”

Politico Oped Urges Federal Workers to Resist Trump from Inside Administration

Politico published an opinion piece Sunday from a former attorney of Bill Clinton and Brett Kavanaugh accuser, “pleading” with government employees to keep their jobs to fight the incoming Trump administration.

Max Stier, the president and CEO of civil service-focused nonprofit Partnership for Public Service, put up the piece, titled “Dear Federal Workers: Don’t Quit,” on the site.

“Over the next few weeks, U.S. civil servants will spend the holidays wrestling with a tough choice: Stay in your jobs and work for a president who openly disdains you and might try to fire you — or quit,” wrote Stier, a lawyer who previously represented former President Clinton during the Whitewater investigation. “I have already heard from many of you who would rather try your luck on the job market than wait for President-elect Donald Trump’s promised purge.”

“I am asking you — pleading with you: stay. Your decision isn’t just about your career, or a single president. It’s part of a larger war, one waged throughout American history, over what the federal government can and should be.”

Going on to lament how Trump will not “make it easy” for government bureaucrats to do their jobs by “slashing” their “vital roles,” the op-ed argued that they must “weather the storm.”

“If you head for the exits now, every American will suffer,” Stier wrote, before concluding that unelected federal workers are “the lifeblood of our democracy.”

After Lying That Trump Wants to Cut Social Security, Dems Rush Bill That Will Cut Benefits – Need Biden to Sign Before Trump Arrives

Democrats have been caught doing the very thing they’ve been accusing President-elect Donald Trump of doing: Cutting Social Security.

On Wednesday, the U.K. Daily Mail reported Senate Democrats are trying to push through a Social Security reform bill they want to see signed by President Joe Biden before Trump takes office.

The Social Security Fairness Act aims to repeal provisions that reduce payouts to public sector employees like police officers, firefighters, teachers, and post workers. The Mail cites The Committee for a Responsible Budget in their article, and that group states this would make Social Security insolvent six months earlier than current projections by giving increased benefits to 3 million people who paid into their state or local pensions that did not pay Social Security.

The CRFB also states, “As a result, we estimate a typical dual-income couple retiring in 2033 would see their benefits cut by an additional $25,000 over their lifetime.”

The think tank says if Social Security runs out of money under this bill, as much as $400,000 in benefits would be lost for the average couple. CRFB states the cost for the bill over the next decade — citing the Congressional Budget Office — would be $190 billion.

After already passing in the House of Representatives, the push for a vote in the Senate comes from Democrat Sen. Chuck Schumer while Republican Sen. Rand Paul wants to add an amendment to the bill gradually raising the age of retirement to 70.

Paul spoke on the matter to The Hill.

“It speeds the bankruptcy of Social Security. Social Security is due to go bankrupt in 2034. This will speed it up by a year or so. It’s $200 billion added to a program that is already short of money,” he said, following up by commenting, “If you’re going to add to its mandate by expanding it, you should pay for it.”

Schumer tried to pose the effort on X in the most altruistic fashion last week, saying, “It would ensure Americans are not erroneously denied their well-earned social security benefits simply because they chose at some point to work in their careers in public service.”

Despite this appearing to be an expansion of Social Security, it is a short-term payoff for some that will ultimately be incredibly costly.

How The Left Will Defend Its Censorship Regime Against Trump

The reelection of President Donald Trump could serve as a historic turning point for free speech in America. President Trump has said he will investigate censorship practices by the federal government, end the rampant disrespect for First Amendment rights on our college campuses, and take on Big Tech’s Orwellian policing of speech on the Internet. If successful, these efforts would make the First Amendment stronger than ever before.

Yet President Trump’s opponents will not simply stand by and watch as he dismantles their carefully crafted censorship machine. Controlling who gets to speak and what can be said is essential to the left’s dominance over our institutions. They will not give up such an important source of their power without a fight.

To ensure the success of Trump’s free speech agenda, the right must anticipate and prepare for the left’s inevitable attacks. Fortunately, their methods are not hard to predict. In fact, Democrats tipped their hand during the campaign.

Back when the party’s out-of-touch leadership thought Kamala Harris would propel them to victory, they set about making plans to silence opposition to their agenda once in office. At the Democratic National Convention, Sen. Chuck Schumer promised sweeping changes to elections, voting, and campaign finance if Democrats won control of Congress and the White House. All of these efforts would slant the political playing field further in the left’s favor.

Among the bills was legislation that would strip Americans of their privacy when supporting nonprofit groups that speak out on hot button issues like abortion, crime, the border, or extreme gender politics. The importance of this provision should not be underestimated.

The left calls it “transparency” when they publicly expose a private citizen’s personal information, including their name and home address, but Americans know it better as doxxing. They also know the purpose is not good government, but power politics. Exposing donors allows the left to build enemies’ lists and harass anyone who backs the “wrong” cause.

Democrats Run Disinformation Campaign Blaming Musk and Trump for Child Cancer Research Cuts — Turns Out GOP House Passed Funding Bill in March But Schumer’s Senate Stalls for 9 Months Until Exposed

Democrats and their media allies launched a coordinated disinformation campaign this week, attempting to pin the blame for stalled pediatric cancer research funding on Elon Musk and President Donald Trump. The reality, however, reveals a much different story.

For months, the GOP-controlled House has been ahead of the curve, passing a comprehensive funding bill for pediatric cancer research back in March.

But Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s Democratic-controlled Senate let the legislation languish for nine months—only taking action after being exposed.

The firestorm began when a 1,500-page Democrat-Johnson continuing resolution (CR) packed with unrelated pork was shelved following public criticism from Musk and Trump, who vowed to challenge any Republican voting for the bloated measure.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries wasted no time launching an unfounded attack, claiming that Musk was single-handedly responsible for blocking pediatric cancer funding.

“Republicans are marching America to a painful government shutdown that will crash the economy and hurt working class Americans because they would rather enact massive tax cuts for their billionaire donors than fund cancer research for children,” Jeffries told the press.

The View Suggests Elon Musk And JD Vance Are Plotting To KILL Trump

The level of batshittery on The View just got ratcheted up several more notches as the cackling witches suggested that Elon Musk is conspiring with JD Vance to get rid of Trump.

Host Whoopi Goldberg ranted “Who is in charge? Because I’ve been saying it for a while. I’ve been saying that I think Elon Musk believes he’s President. I do.”

“Well, you can call him Vice President,” Joy Behar interjected, prompting Goldberg to continue ranting “I’ve called him Vice President. I called him President because I don’t know what JD is doing. I hardly ever said. I don’t remember the last time we even talked about JD.”

They’re not even in office yet. What is he supposed to be doing?

“He’s planning the presidency when he got to get rid of Trump,” Behar claimed out of nowhere.

“So you think it’s Musk, Vance?” Goldberg asked her, to which she responded “Possible.”

Goldberg then offered some advice to Trump, “Stay away from the stairways. People put their leg out to trip people down the stairs. Watch out.”
