Columbia University says it has suspended and expelled students who participated in protests

Columbia University announced disciplinary action Tuesday against students who participated in a pro-Palestinian demonstration inside the Ivy League school’s main library before final exams in May and an encampment during alumni weekend last year.

A student activist group said nearly 80 students were told they have been suspended for one to three years or expelled. The sanctions issued by a university judicial board also include probation and degree revocations, Columbia said in a statement.

The action comes as the Manhattan university is negotiating with President Donald Trump’s administration to restore $400 million in federal funding it has withheld from the Ivy League school over its handling of student protests against the war in Gaza. The administration pulled the funding, canceling grants and contracts, in March because of what it described as the university’s failure to squelch antisemitism on campus during the Israel-Hamas war that began in October 2023.

Columbia has since agreed to a series of demands laid out by the Republican administration, including overhauling the university’s student disciplinary process and adopting a new definition of antisemitism.

“Our institution must focus on delivering on its academic mission for our community,” the university said Tuesday. “And to create a thriving academic community, there must be respect for each other and the institution’s fundamental work, policies, and rules. Disruptions to academic activities are in violation of University policies and Rules, and such violations will necessarily generate consequences.”

It did not disclose the names of the students who were disciplined.

Columbia in May said it would lay off nearly 180 staffers and scale back research in response to the loss of funding. Those receiving nonrenewal or termination notices represent about 20% of the employees funded in some manner by the terminated federal grants, the university said.

A student activist group said the newly announced disciplinary action exceeds sentencing precedent for prior protests. Suspended students would be required to submit apologies in order to be allowed back on campus or face expulsion, the group said, something some students will refuse to do.

Gavin Newsom Personally Secured Nonprofit Cash For Anti-Law Enforcement Activists

California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom asked nonprofits to donate at least $610,000 to groups that call for defunding or abolishing law enforcement since 2023 before distancing himself from such stances.

Immigrant Defenders Law Center (IDLC) and Immigrant Legal Defense (ILD) received $500,000 in 2023 and $110,000 in 2025, respectively, at Newsom’s request, according to state records first reported by The Washington Free Beacon. IDLC has advocated for defunding the police and worked to free illegal immigrants detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), while ILD “prioritizes abolishing immigration detention and reimagining the U.S. immigration system entirely,” the group’s website says.

Newsom said in a March interview that proposals to defund police after the Black Lives Matter movement gained steam in 2020 were “lunacy.” He also declared in a July 14 interview that he is “happy to advocate for eliminating sanctuary policy,” referring to laws in Democratic-leaning areas that prohibit police from helping ICE catch illegal immigrants. The governor’s recent push toward more moderate rhetoric on major issues has fueled speculation that he plans to run for president in 2028.

National Anti-Trump “Good Trouble” Protests Fizzle With Little Fanfare

The establishment media has taken on a new role in recent months; rather than reporting on events that already happened progressive outlets are promoting events before they happen.  Specifically, the media has taken on the role of protest organizer in the Trump era in an attempt to rally the public to show up and fill out otherwise dwindling activist attendance.

The slowdown in leftist protests has “coincidentally” occurred at the same time as the shut down of easy federal funds supplied by agencies like USAID.  The monetary incentives for professional provocateurs is drying up.

This means the political left is now forced to rely on actual grassroots participation, and it’s not working out well for them.  Corporate news platforms have been pivoting into protest organizing as a stopgap, publishing maps and schedules for events with minimal success.

A recent interview between NewsNation’s Brian Entin and Adam Swart, CEO of an activist group called “Crowds on Demand” revealed that an unnamed organization offered Swart’s company $20 million to recruit demonstrators for upcoming anti-Trump protests on July 18th.  Swart noted:

“We had to reject an offer worth around $20 million for nationwide, large-scale demonstrations across the country. Personally, I don’t think it’s effective. I’m rejecting the contract not because I don’t want the business, but because, frankly, this is going to be ineffective and make us all look bad…”

The Protest-Industrial-Complex Isn’t Peaceful, It’s “Civil Terrorism” …

Ilya Shapiro and Jesse Arm of the Manhattan Institute authored an op-ed in The Wall Street Journal on Thursday, unveiling a plan for the federal government to take decisive action against the rogue permanent protest industry—comprising some Marxist groups and professional agitators—waging continuous color revolutions that have brought chaos to American cities.

Americans instinctively understand that what happened in Los Angeles wasn’t peaceful organizing or messy democracy. Such unrest invites criminal mayhem and political violence, or what our Manhattan Institute colleague Tal Fortgang has described as “civil terrorism.” It’s often perpetrated by agitators who hide behind masks,” Shapiro and Arm wrote.

What’s clear is that the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution protects the right to peaceful protest—it does not shield anonymous social justice warriors and paid demonstrators affiliated with anti-American, Marxist movements, some of whom are funded by dark money NGOs and even entities based in countries deemed foreign adversaries. These bad actors appear to be waging a form of hybrid or irregular warfare aimed at sowing chaos within the U.S. The two authors from the Manhattan Institute argue for “stronger enforcement of existing state antimasking laws and new federal action.”

Shapiro and Arm state the urgent need for modernizing antimasking statutes to criminalize masking while committing crimes or obstructing public order.

Their approach is outlined here:

  • First, the Justice Department should direct federal prosecutors to pursue enhanced sentences for masked criminals. Federal guidelines allow sentencing enhancements for obstruction of justice or premeditated conduct. A masked assault can lead to a two-level sentence increase, making it more likely that violent offenders serve real time.
  • Second, the Homeland Security Department should deploy Federal Protective Service officers to respond to masked protesters on federal property. DHS is already empowered to secure federal buildings and grounds. New regulations prohibit the use of masks to avoid identification while breaking the law on federal property. That authority now needs to be enforced aggressively.
  • Finally, the administration should make prosecution of federal crimes committed by masked offenders a priority. These offenses include assaulting a federalized National Guard member and damaging federal property. They already are federal crimes, but the added presence of a mask should be treated as a red flag and an aggravating factor. Prosecutors should move swiftly and law enforcement should make arrests public.

The two emphasized: “These measures wouldn’t criminalize protest, chill dissent or limit protected speech. They would send a clear signal: If you hide behind a mask to commit a crime or intimidate others, the federal government will hold you accountable.”

They added: “Americans have every right to protest their government, but not to do so anonymously while terrorizing others and flouting the law.”

Massive Attack announce alliance of musicians speaking out over Gaza

Massive Attack, Brian Eno, Fontaines DC and Kneecap have announced the formation of a syndicate for artists speaking out about Israel’s military assault on Gaza, who they say have been subjected to “aggressive, vexatious campaigns” by pro-Israel advocates.

Posting on Instagram, the musicians said their aim was to protect other artists, particularly those at early stages of their careers, from being “threatened into silence or career cancellation” by organisations such as UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI).

UKLFI reported the band Bob Vylan to the police for leading a chant of “death to the IDF [Israel Defense Forces]” during their Glastonbury set and officers are investigating. It also reported the BBC for broadcasting the set. Bob Vylan have subsequently had several scheduled appearances cancelled after UKLFI sent letters.

Mo Chara of Kneecap was charged with a terrorism offence, accused of displaying a flag at a gig in support of the banned organisation Hezbollah after being reported to the police by UKLFI. Kneecap also had gigs cancelled after interventions by UKLFI.

While those actions were made public, UKLFI is also believed to have contacted other musicians, people and organisations connected with them without publicising the fact.

The post shared by Eno and others on Instagram says: “The scenes in Gaza have moved beyond description. We write as artists who’ve chosen to use our public platforms to speak out against the genocide occurring there and the role of the UK government in facilitating it.

“We’re aware of the scale of aggressive, vexatious campaigns operated by UKLFI and of multiple individual incidences of intimidation within the music industry itself, designed solely to censor and silence artists from speaking their hearts and minds.

“Having withstood these campaigns of attempted censorship, we won’t stand by and allow other artists – particularly those at earlier stages of their careers or in other positions of professional vulnerability – to be threatened into silence or career cancellation.”

They encourage other artists to contact them to make a collective stand on demands including an immediate and permanent ceasefire, immediate unfettered access to Gaza for recognised aid agencies and an end to UK arms sales and licences to Israel.

Why Mexicans Are Protesting Mass Immigration

Many Mexicans have similar complaints about American immigrants as Americans do about Mexican immigrants.

Earlier this month, a major city saw a xenophobic protest against immigrants. Those gathered hurled ethnic slurs at the foreigners. Someone spray-painted “not your home” on a wall. One sign read, “Respect my culture.” Complaints included the influx driving up housing prices and foreigners not speaking the native language. At some point, the demonstration turned violent, with some participants vandalizing local businesses.

If that protest had happened in Dallas or Jacksonville, the left would be outraged. They’d blame President Donald Trump. They’d attack Republicans for being racist. They’d smear conservatives as violent, Christian nationalists.

That’s harder to do in this case. This protest was in Mexico City, and the protesters were Mexicans. They’re upset about the many Americans and other foreigners who’ve settled in their city, especially with the advent of remote work. Mexican officials actively encouraged this immigration.

In 2022, Claudia Sheinbaum, then-mayor of Mexico City, worked with Airbnb to tout Mexico City as the “capital of creative tourism.” Sheinbaum, currently the president of Mexico, claimed the arrangement wouldn’t increase costs for Mexico City residents. Locals are now complaining about gentrification and the increasing number of apartments that are being converted into Airbnb rentals.

Foreign money has shifted both the local economy and culture. Some corner grocery stores have become high-end restaurants. Many foreigners expect the Mexican waiters to speak to them in English. One study found housing prices in Mexico City quadrupled between 2000 to 2022, even while per capita income fell after adjusting for inflation. Little wonder many residents feel priced out of their own city.

‘Protestors For Hire’ CEO Blows The Whistle, Says He Was Offered $20M To Stage Anti-Trump Event

The CEO of Crowds on Demand, a California-based firm that specializes in hiring actors in order to create the appearance of popular support for a cause or individual, revealed that he rejected a $20 million offer to provide actors for Democrat-backed “Good Trouble Lives On” protests scheduled for July 17.

“Crowds on Demand is your home for impactful advocacy campaigns, demonstrations, PR stunts, crowds for hire and corporate events. Services available nationwide,” the firm’s website reads. “We create out-of-the-box campaigns, audiences and events to make an impact for our clients.”

The group further notes that it can turn out “passionate” leaders and actors to any major metro area in the United States on short notice. “We’ve made campaigns involving hundreds of people come alive in just days. We have a proven record of delivering major wins on even the toughest campaigns and delivering phenomenal experiences with even the most logistically challenging events,” the website continues.

On Tuesday, Crowds on Demand CEO Adam Stewart made the shocking revelation while speaking with NewsNation. “We rejected an offer that probably is worth around $20 million … The value of the contract would have been worth around that amount nationwide to organize huge demonstrations around the country,” he said.

“But personally, I just don’t think it’s effective,” he added, further revealing that he declined the offer.

When pressed, Stewart did not provide additional details on who offered him the contract or when the offer was made. He did, however, note that he had serious concerns about potential violence and the events and reiterated his belief that accepting such a contract would be unproductive.

US Rep. Salud Carbajal – Part of Violent Mob Attacking ICE at California Marijuana Farm – Likely Entered US Illegally Himself

US Rep. Salud Carbajal was part of a violent mob that attacked and shot at ICE at a California Marijuana Farm.  It turns out that Carbajal’s passion for illegals may be because he entered the US illegally himself.

On Sunday The Gateway Pundit reported on US Rep. Salud Carbajal.  Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) revealed that Rep. Salud Carbajal (D-CA) was “part of a violent mob of protestors attempting to obstruct federal law enforcement as they executed a criminal search warrant at a marijuana facility”.  Carbajal also doxxed an ICE agent by handing the individual’s business card to members of the violent group.

According to ICE, the doxxed agent was also “left bloody” after the mob hurled rocks at agents who were doing their job.

The officers were conducting criminal warrant operations at marijuana farms operated by the Glass House Brands Inc. in Carpinteria and Camarillo when the chaos unfolded.

Carbajal claimed in an X post that ICE agents were “using unnecessarily aggressive and militarized tactics against local farm workers and peaceful protesters.”

But ICE responded on X to Carbajal’s tweet:

Rep. Salud Carbajal was part of a violent mob of protestors attempting to obstruct federal law enforcement as they executed a criminal search warrant at a marijuana facility. He cites “peaceful” protestors, when in fact these rioters were launching rocks at officers, injuring at least one ICE employee who was left bloody.

According to agents on the ground, the congressman doxed that same ICE employee by sharing his business card with members of the violent mob.

THIS is precisely the rhetoric that has led to orchestrated attempts to murder officers and a 700% increase in officer assaults.

The FBI Weren’t the Only Feds Embedded in the Crowd on Jan 6 and at Butler

There were more than FBI insurgents embedded in Jan 6 crowd.  Homeland Security’s federal employees were all over the place there and at Butler as well.

Mike Benz outlined the feds involved in Jan 6 and Butler.  This evidence helps Americans see how much the government is working against good Americans.

Late last year Kash Patel shared evidence that the Feds were involved in Jan 6.

The following was reported in the book – The Steal – Volume III: The Cover-Up.  Jeffrey McKellop was at Jan 6 and was punished for saving a woman’s life.  He later uncovered the special ops used against Americans on that day and was punished for doing so.

Here is what he shared that was reported in The Steal – Volume III: The Cover-Up:

Two years after his imprisonment, word came out about a Jan 6 hostage by the name of Jeffrey McKellop, a decorated former 3rd Special Forces Group soldier and US government contractor. Jeffrey was being held in the DC Gulag in Washington DC as a political prisoner after he served his country for 22 years of military service (the DC Gulag was the name given to the Washington DC jail where the Jan 6 hostages were being held).

Jeffrey has been silenced by his government. After his arrest in March 2021, Jeffrey delved into video footage and documented evidence from January 6. Jeffrey was able to identify numerous government informants and agitators in the massive Trump crowd that day. After he put together his evidence, he sent it out to numerous contacts. That was when the FBI came into his prison cell and took his research. They then attempted to silence him and banned him from phone and mail privileges . . .

. . . [McKellop says] I know for a fact that there were undercover agents, man. I saw them. I spotted it. And when you find one, then you know what to look for, and then you find them. All undercover agents, they all wear the same thing. They all move the same way. They all get together the same way. Why do I know these? Because I used to do the same thing . . .

I’ve been saying this for a year and a half now, that Antifa were there, Antifa and BLM were there, but they changed their chameleons, man. They look like us, they dress like us, they act like us, and then they committed violence in our name. That is guerrilla warfare.

McKellop identified individuals in the videos he saw, and he is convinced these people were working for the government. He’s been in jail for more than two years without a trial for the crime of knowing too much.

McKellop shared his thoughts on Jan 6 and more in an interview out yesterday.  This is raw and real.

‘Pink Floyd’ Frontman Roger Waters Could Face Up To 14 Years In Prison For Supporting Pro-Palestine Group Dubbed “Terrorist Organization” By UK Parliament

The Campaign Against Antisemitism is calling for “Pink Floyd” co-founder Roger Waters to be imprisoned after he posted a message earlier this month supporting the group Palestine Action, which was recently banned in the UK under anti-terrorism laws.

In Waters’ video, he claimed Palestine Action is a “nonviolent” and “great organization” comprised of people who are “absolutely not terrorists in any way.”

Waters, who is from Cambridge, England, showed a sign he made that read, “Parliament has been corrupted by agents of a genocidal foreign power. Stand up and be counted. It’s now!”

“This is the ‘I am Spartacus’ moment,” he wrote on social media, saying in the video, “I declare my independence from the government of the UK, who’ve just designated Palestine Action a terrorist, proscribed terrorist organization.”

The Campaign Against Antisemitism responded by calling for Waters to be jailed, writing, “Anyone expressing support for it contrary to section 12 of the Terrorism Act 2000 commits a criminal offence. We stand ready to privately prosecute offenders in instances where an offence has been made out and the authorities fail to act.”
