‘Zombie DEI’: Is this med school circumventing the law?

A medical watchdog thinks the University of Kansas’ medical school is engaging in “zombie DEI” initiatives, even though diversity, equity, and inclusion projects are banned by state and federal law.

“Rebranding DEI as ‘health equity’ or other such terms is a clear effort to skirt state law in the name of woke ideology. Medical schools should drop their DEI agenda,” Do No Harm Chairman Dr. Stanley Goldfarb told The Daily Signal. “Instead, they should focus on merit as the basis for recruitment and admission decisions, and lawmakers should target schools that fail to comply with state laws.”

President Donald Trump has signed a number of executive orders banning diversity, equity, and inclusion discrimination in the federal workforce, in higher education accreditation, and in government-funded education.

A Kansas law prohibited the requirement of “pledging allegiance to, or making a statement of personal support for or opposition to, any political ideology or movement, including a pledge or statement regarding diversity, equity, or inclusion, or to request or require any such pledge or statement from an applicant or faculty member.”

But the University of Kansas Medical Center School of Medicine requires students to meet “diversity objectives and competencies” through assignments that demand a focus on “social determinants to health,” the watchdog group Do No Harm uncovered.

The School of Medicine at the University of Kansas also provides Health Equity Medical Education Consults.

“This opportunity is for the School of Medicine faculty who interface with learners at all stages (postbaccalaureate and medical students, residents, fellows and other faculty) to seek guidance in making your teaching more equitable and inclusive,” the website reads.

The accompanying PDF features “Race and Ethnicity” at the top of the list of topics that faculty members can receive guidance on.

Parents Sound Alarm On YMCA Camps Allowing Boys In Girls’ Showers And Cabins

As kids prepare to head off to summer camp, a conservative group is warning parents that their daughters may not be safe at YMCA facilities across the country.

The American Parents Coalition on Wednesday urged parents to “beware” that the YMCA determines access to overnight cabins, locker rooms, and showers on the basis of gender identity. The coalition says that many YMCA facilities may not inform parents that boys could be bunking or showering with female campers, raising safety and privacy concerns.

“Parents deserve the truth — especially when it involves the possibility that their children could be put in a situation where they’re expected to share private spaces with members of the opposite sex,” American Parents Coalition Executive Director Alleigh Marré told The Daily Wire.

“Too many YMCA branches are putting gender ideology ahead of child safety by allowing locker rooms, showers, and cabins to become a free-for-all. This is unacceptable. Parents must question their local YMCA to ensure their child’s safety and advocate for sex-based spaces where they do not exist.”

Nationally, the YMCA recommends that “all campers and staff have access to the facilities aligned with their gender identity and comfort within facility and resource limitations.” The recommendations also suggest including transgender-identifying individuals in camp marketing.

YMCA camps and facilities across the country have adopted these guidelines, allowing females to be exposed to males in bathrooms or bunk with a person of the opposite sex. For example, Camp Olson in Longville, Minnesota, says access to facilities is based on gender identity, not sex.

“Access to gendered spaces (e.g. restrooms, overnight accommodations) should be based on gender identity. Sex assigned at birth, physical characteristics, or presentation should not dictate the use of gendered space. Trans individuals may select either restroom,” the camp’s guidelines say. “Requiring someone to use a bathroom or other gendered space of the gender they do not identify can be detrimental to an individual’s well-being and safety and puts Camp Olson at risk for discrimination complaints.”

The policy adds that if a female is uncomfortable using the same facility as a male identifying as female, then the female should use an alternate space, saying that “no one should be required to use an alternative restroom because they are trans.”

Rooming assignments at Camp Olson are also based on “gender identity,” with “requests taken into account for comfort and safety. All campers will be asked to select a cabin gender where they will feel most comfortable for that session upon registration.”

Democrats and Their DEI Albatrosses

Afew Democrat officeholders, activists, and pundits are finally coming to their senses that their brand is toxic to a majority of the American people.

The Biden administration killed what was left of it in a number of ways.

First, it serially lied to Americans about the cognitive decline and cancerous condition of President Joe Biden, both while in and after office.

Only when caught did the complicit media fess up that the Biden inner circle serially misled the American people about Biden’s inability to fulfill the duties of the presidency.

Second, left-wing politicos used Biden as a waxen effigy. His job was to pose as a “moderate” cover to push through the most radical and unpopular agenda in the last half century.

Only that way could “Old Joe Biden from Scranton” and his backroom handlers ram down the throat of the American people unpopular policies that nearly wrecked the country: hyperinflation and $7 trillion in new debt, weaponization of the government, and partisan lawfare, an open border and 12 million illegal aliens, a racialist DEI commissariat, a crackpot Green New Deal, defunding the police, biological men competing in girls’ sports, and two theater-wide wars abroad.

Third, without either a functional president or viable initiatives, the new hard-left Democrats sought to brand Donald Trump as “Hitler” and half the country who supported him as “fascists.”

For nearly nine years, the Democrats launched one failed hoax after another on the American people: “Russian collusion,” “laptop disinformation,” and the lying so-called “51 intelligence authorities.” They proved quite willing to undermine the rule of law by manipulating the court system in efforts to destroy their bogeyman, Donald Trump.

Never had the American people seen a political party engineer 93 bogus indictments of a rival candidate and ex-president. Two dozen states tried to take Trump off their presidential ballots. And the Biden Department of Justice sicced an FBI SWAT team to barge into Trump’s home.

The people finally got tired of all the potty-mouthed Democrat videos, the congressional stunts and meltdowns, the pampered rich kids rioting on elite campuses, the knee-jerk obsessions with racial slurs, the firebombing of Tesla dealerships, the romanticization of left-wing political murderers—and always the adolescent tantrums over Donald Trump.

The Democrats had mostly given up on democracy some 13 years ago. That was the last time they transparently and democratically nominated Barack Obama a second time as their presidential candidate.

Ever since, their nominations have been rigged.

In 2020, party insiders—terrified of the left-wing crazy primary field—forced out all the leading contenders.

Then they coronated the debilitated but still supposedly useful moderate Joe Biden as their COVID-era candidate. Biden then bragged that he would pick his vice president on the basis of race and gender.

What followed was the most bizarre campaign in history.

Obese Democrat Activist Gives Crazy Thoughts on Why Young Men Are Ditching Her Party – Then She Freaks Out After Getting Savagely Mocked By Conservatives

One of the keys to President Trump’s landslide victory last November was making significant inroads with young adult men, who embraced his macho persona and ditched the woke Democratic Party. But now the Democrats have an ‘ace’ up their sleeve to rectify this crisis: a morbidly obese, gay, radical-left activist who has no clue what young males actually think, and conservatives know it.

During an interview with podcast host Micah Efren on Tuesday, 22-year-old Olivia Julianna gave her ‘thoughts’ on why Democrats have lost these voters and how to win them back. She started by proclaiming her love for men, particularly frat guys, before completely botching what they believe.

“You know this because we know each other in real life, but I spend a lot of time on college campuses, Julianna said. “I love young men, I love frat guys, and in that, I realize, even the ones who identify as conservative are almost always pro-choice. They’re almost always pro-gay marriage. You’d be surprised at the number of them who supported Black Lives Matter.

“I feel like people kind of just lump them into this box when the truth is, again, a lot of them are with us on the issues. They’re just not part of our coalition because they feel like they’re not welcome,” she added.

As Outkick.com notes, men, especially conservative ones, largely oppose BLM. Men are also split on abortion, with GOP males overwhelmingly opposing it across all age groups.

But Julianna thinks young men are actually woke and don’t know it. How crazy is that?

DEI update: black women plagiarize at ‘astronomically higher rates’ than other groups…

DEI has always been a scam, and the receipts keep piling up. For years, the academic world has pretended that DEI hires represent some amazing new standard of excellence. But thanks to the tireless work of reporters like Chris Rufo, that illusion is crumbling under the weight of plagiarized dissertations, stolen passages, and fraudulent credentials.

Yes, it’s starting to crumble, but DEI was built on decades of solid left-wing foundation. To say it’s magically gone because of one Supreme Court ruling is a fairy tale. The rot is still very much alive.

Revolver:

Further down the prestige ladder, at public colleges in Republican-controlled states, a similar shift is taking place. In these states, the push is coming from Republican lawmakers, who have belatedly recognized that DEI is a hiring program for people who hate them. In some states, lawmakers have ordered universities to abolish diversity statements, but the most on-the-ball initiatives have made sure to actually fire DEI staffers and shut down their departments. At the University of Texas-Austin, forty people lost their jobs after the school’s DEI office got the axe. At the University of Florida, officials fired 13 administrators in response to a DEI ban.

The signs are all promising, to say the least. But a crucial question remains: Will all of this work?

We can hope, of course. Harvard and MIT are both trendsetters for the schools just below them on the prestige ladder. Odds are good that, at least at America’s top schools and any public college in a red state, much-hated “diversity statements” will soon be a thing of the past.

But don’t get too thrilled just yet. Abolishing diversity statements is not the same thing as abolishing the diversity cult itself. The situation in academia is improving in some respects, but for now it remains a matter of tiny marginal improvements to a vast, utterly rotten edifice. The state of affairs in academia today is such that broad swathes of entire disciplines—not just fake DEI disciplines—have become utterly corroded by DEI.

The triumphalism over vanishing diversity statements operates on the assumption that said statements are a primary driver of anti-white and anti-male discrimination in academia. In reality, though, these statements are simply the product of a DEI-obsessed culture that exists on a deeper level. Mandatory statements during the hiring process make it easier and smoother to reject white male applicants, but the intent to reject them as often as possible was there long before. This discriminatory intent means that DEI (or woke, or race communist, pick your term of choice) priorities now pervade almost every aspect of the academic sausage-making process—to a degree that would shock most Americans. Unless this process is reformed (or, more likely, torn out at the root and replaced), universities will continue their downward spiral toward useless mediocrity.

Christian Rally In Seattle Park Attacked By Violent Woke Mob

The year of 2020 was an unmitigated disaster for the US for numerous reasons.  With so many chaotic events happening simultaneously, one can be forgiven if they have completely forgotten about the bizarre CHAZ/CHOP takeover of a section of Seattle by woke activists for around a month.  The protest led to extensive violence and some deaths, but was widely supported by city officials.  It was also a wellspring of hilarious memes as ignorant protesters tried in vain to establish a self sustaining progressive community complete with socialist garden spaces.

Seattle is one of the few leftist enclaves in the US still clinging to the old days of BLM and covid mandates, and they are back in the news again.  This time because of an organized and violent mob attack on a peaceful Christian rally this week at Cal Anderson Park.  The rally, held by a group called Mayday USA, spoke on pro-life issues and against transgender hormones and surgeries for children. 

A group called “Radical Women Seattle” explained their protest of the event:

“Aimed to counter the well-funded anti-trans, anti-queer event that is led by far-right Christian activists. The Mayday USA rally in Seattle is provocatively being held in the heart of the Queer community. It is part of a 5-city national tour. Reactionary preacher and former Spokane Valley state representative Matt Shea, of the “On Fire Ministries,” is one of the prominent supporters…”

Freedom Socialist Party leader Doreen McGrath stated:

“We are encouraging everyone to come out and show their solidarity…Attacks of this kind need to be met with protest every time…”

In other words, a Christian group meeting in a public park is considered an “attack”.

By mid-day the mob engaged in a series of violent actions on the Christian rally, forcing police to intervene.  At least 23 activists were arrested on charges of assault and obstruction. 

After a decade of unhinged woke activism in the US most people are now well aware that the political left’s idea of “free speech” is highly one-sided.  They believe that free speech laws give them the right to disrupt and even violently shut down other people’s free speech.  They think that the 1st Amendment gives them the right to do whatever they want whenever they want.  This is simply not reality.

Furthermore, the political left argues that the right to disrupt is supported by the content of their opponent’s speech.  Meaning, if a person or group is presenting conservative or populist views (what they call “hate speech”), this justifies violence as a tool to shut that speech down. 

This is a very convenient mindset because it allows them to rationalize any malicious tactic.  All they have to do is label their enemies “fascists” and the rules of civil order go out the window.  This is why leftists are unlikely to win a majority of elections at any point in the near future and it’s also why the American public is increasingly tempted to return the favor and visit violence on woke activists.

Fury as top military schools are caught in secret underground plots to usurp Trump’s orders

Top military schools have faced a swift backlash after using underground means to discuss books and topics banned by the Trump administration.

Cadets and staff at the US Naval Academy have been creating non-governmental emails to chat about the banned ideas, including the likes of critical race theory.

The president has cracked down on what made up the curriculum at the school, with faculty saying they run their research through an AI tool screen their findings.

Words that are flagged include ‘barrier’, ‘Black’, ‘allyship’, ‘cultural differences’ and ‘The Gulf of Mexico‘. 

Professors have been told to teach that ‘America and its founding documents remains the most powerful force for good in human history’ after a memo Pete Hegseth

One unnamed professor told the Washington Post: ‘We at the Naval Academy are here to prepare young officers to command.

‘They need to know what we have learned from our study of politics and history and literature and languages.

‘We are failing them and we are failing in our jobs if we suppress some things we know are true and we parrot other things we know are false.’ 

They also said that students are feeling conflicted about the possibility of being deployed under the current White House. 

One professor said they had advised cadets to serve until they receive an order that they feel might be illegal. 

He told them if that point comes to ‘reject it rather than compromise yourself’. 

Graham Parsons, a former professor of philosophy at West Point Military Academy, left his position earlier this month in protest over the changes to the curriculum. 

He said that the entire US armed forces have been left up in arms over Trump’s reversal of DEI initiatives and social justice programs. 

Parsons told the outlet: ‘It’s a feeling of real whiplash. We used to raise the possibility in the military and beyond, there are still real structural problems with racism and sexism. That would not fly now.’ 

He stood down from his post after writing a scathing opinion piece for The New York Times. 

In it, he said: ‘I cannot tolerate these changes, which prevent me from doing my job responsibly. I am ashamed to be associated with the academy in its current form.’

Calls for new Labour mayor to be sacked because he dressed up as Adolf Hitler for charity event

A newly appointed Labour mayor who dressed up as Adolf Hitler at a charity event is facing calls to resign. 

Photographs of Seve Gomez-Aspron MBE wearing a German Army uniform, complete with swastika, and a fake moustache, previously surfaced online in 2019 when he was serving as a councillor for St Helens. 

The series of snaps were taken at a fancy dress dinner in aid of Claire House Hospice, which supports seriously and terminally ill children, in 2009, when he was not yet a councillor.

Mr Gomez-Aspron said at the time the outfit was inspired by Mel Brooks‘ satirical comedy The Producers. He described the decision to wear it as ‘clumsy’.

But despite his apology, there is still much furor surrounding his recent appointment, with more than 1,000 people signing a petition for his removal as mayor. 

According to the Sun, 11 councillors also walked out in protest during his swearing in ceremony on May 14. 

‘He is reviled throughout St Helens for his inappropriate behaviour and attitude,’ a councillor told the newspaper.

‘Many feel that he is not fit for public office, never mind the prestigious role as mayor,’

The councillor told the Liverpool Echo the first time the photos went viral that they were taken in his early twenties, before he was a Labour Party member

He added at the time: ‘I have matured and learnt a lot since then, and it goes without saying that I would not do this now.

‘I know how this could be seen as insensitive and how it could cause hurt and offence.

‘That was not at all my intention and I sincerely apologise. I have part-Jewish ancestry and I recently visited Israel to commemorate those killed in the Holocaust and the war.’

But, for Mr Gomez-Aspron – who also once appeared on ITV’s Million Pound Drop where he scooped £100,000 with a pal – this scandal was not his first. 

Just last year the then deputy leader of St Helens Council was forced to apologise for ‘offensive’ comments made towards a councillor during a meeting about a proposed rise in council tax. 

Mr Gomez-Aspron described the councillor’s reasoning for voting against a 4.99% rise as ‘diatribe’ and claimed he has ‘not a clue what he is talking about’. 

He went on to describe the man and another councillor as the ‘Earlestown Brain Trust’, before correcting himself by saying ‘it was wrong to imply there was a brain’.

Democrat-Run States Risk Billions To Push Race Discrimination In Schools

As nearly half the states battle the federal government to maintain discriminatory equity and inclusion practices in public institutions, billions of taxpayer dollars are at stake.

Nineteen Democrat-run states have sued the federal government rather than comply with the Trump administration’s enforcement of race and sex antidiscrimination laws for K-12 and higher education institutions. According to the data-tracking website Burbio, the risk of funding loss for schools is enormous. 

In 2024, California received more than $2.2 billion in federal Title I funds. New York received nearly $1.5 billion. Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Michigan all received between $5 and $8 hundred million, Burbio found. All are part of the 19-state coalition arguing they should continue receiving these massive amounts while still teaching race and sex discrimination. These massive dollar amounts typically increase in the millions annually. 

In a memo to states issued April 3, the Trump administration reiterated states’ legal obligations in exchange for receiving federal financial assistance and certification under Title VI of federal education code and the 2023 Supreme Court decision against racial discrimination Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard. The certification letter stated that “any violation of Title VI- including the use of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (‘DEI’) programs to advantage one’s race over another is impermissible,” and included a late April signature deadline. 

Twenty-one states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico announced their intent to sign the letter, but 19 of 22 states that hesitated to sign sued the federal government April 25. Furthering the funding conflict, three federal judges in Maryland, New Hampshire, and Washington D.C. blocked the federal attempts to enforce antidiscrimination measures April 24. 

The judges declared schools to be in compliance with civil rights laws that bar race-based discrimination, supporting DEI programs and policies that explicitly promote racial divisions. Attorney generals from the suing states called Trump’s enforcement of the law “onerous” and said threatening $14 billion in taxpayer funds would be “catastrophic” for students.

Ideological Capture At Professional Societies

Disassembling and “deleting” federal agencies is proving to be a difficult task for the Trump administration, which has been working to slash bureaucratic red tape and federal spending, especially for left-wing radicalism like Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Unlike some of the intermediate steps President Trump has taken through Executive Order, truly closing an agency will require a 60-person majority in a Senate vote, a tall order with only 53 Republicans in the upper chamber.

But there are still some low-hanging fruits left for the administration to pick. Chiefly, it can end relationships with all professional societies promoting principles of DEI and radical gender ideology.

The federal government contracts with a myriad of these organizations across all the major agencies. Professional societies set the atmosphere and guidelines for practitioners in their fields, and they can have hundreds of thousands of members.

If those organizations become ideologically captured, the impact will be felt across society.

There is no reason for the federal government to fund such organizations. DOGE should identify these organizations and give Congress and taxpayers the information they need to make informed budget decisions.

Doing so will allow state and local governments to make better decisions as well.

As DOGE continues the work of identifying bloat, some of those activities and decisions will shift to state and local government where they rightly belong. But elected officials will still be presented with the same outside groups seeking their business. Officials at the state and local level, and taxpayers who fund those entities, have the right to know more about organizations seeking public funds.
