Biden Plans to Give Taxpayer-Funded ‘Legal Services’ to Illegal Aliens

President Joe Biden’s administration is set to roll out a new federal program, funded by American taxpayers, that will provide “legal services” to border crossers and illegal aliens, a new report details.

The plan, first reported by Axios, would ensure that private contractors working with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) help provide a range of legal services to border crossers and illegal aliens arriving at United States-Mexico border stations in California, Texas, and Arizona.

Axios’s Stef Kight reports:

It will be for migrants attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border, those in Border Patrol custody, in the [Remain in Mexico] program or who may be enrolled in [Remain in Mexico] or otherwise placed in deportation proceedings, according to the published documents on SAM.gov.

Increasing migrant access to legal services has long been a goal of the administration. While the new Legal Access at the Border (LAB) program will help prepare migrants for the immigration legal process, it will not directly provide them attorneys.

Contractors will explain the migrants’ options for staying in the U.S. while deportation orders are pending, as well as general immigration court practices and procedures.

The expanded legal services for border crossers and illegal aliens are part of a larger plan by the Biden administration to transform the southern border into a mere checkpoint for foreign nationals seeking entry to the U.S.

American Taxpayers Charged Millions to Provide Illegal Aliens with Free Lawyers

American taxpayers, often unbeknownst to them, are being charged to the sum of millions to provide illegal aliens in various cities with free legal representation, an investigation exclusively shared with Breitbart News reveals.

The Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) reviewed expenditures for cities that have implemented a deportation defense program that provides illegal aliens and foreign nationals with free legal representation to fight their deportations from the United States.

“Under U.S. law, illegal aliens and other non-citizens facing deportation orders do not have a right to legal representation because immigration law is a civil matter, not a criminal one,” IRLI investigators note.

The costs, as a result, are falling on American taxpayers. For Fiscal Year 2022, IRLI investigators estimate that taxpayers in 22 cities that have deportation defense programs will be charged at least $5.2 million to provide illegal aliens with free lawyers.

IRLI investigators said this estimate is conservative and does not include many other localities that have similar in-house deportation defense programs.

“These programs are an insult to every law-abiding American citizen and legal resident,” IRLI Executive Director Dale Wilcox told Breitbart News. “Our laws clearly state that non-citizens charged with civil offenses do not have a right to legal representation. Yet we have radical anti-borders groups starting these programs and sticking unknowing citizens with the bill. It’s outrageous.”

In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for example, city officials revealed to IRLI investigators that they do not provide any oversight over their deportation defense program despite using hundreds of thousands of dollars to fund it.

United Nations Is Handing Out $800 Debit Cards to Illegal Migrant Families in Mexico Heading to US

Todd Bensman, a Fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies recently traveled to Mexico where he is reporting on the tens of thousands of illegal aliens heading to the open US Southern Border.

In Reynosa, Mexico, at a migrant camp, Bensman witnessed the United Nations IOM handing out free debit cards to aspiring US border crossers.

The IOM workers with the United Nations said a migrant family of four gets about $800 a month.

Todd said he watched long lines of migrants get their UN debit cards — paid for by US taxpayers.

US taxpayers paid 22% of the UN budget in recent years.

Biden’s Welcome Gifts for Illegal Aliens Include Bypassing Airport Security, Free Airfare into U.S.

President Joe Biden, in partnership with non-governmental organizations (NGOs), is flying border crossers and illegal aliens into the United States on domestic commercial flights, for free, with waivers for them to bypass airport security requirements that American citizens must abide by.

For months, Breitbart News has reported that Biden’s immigration policies are facilitating flights of border crossers and illegal aliens into the U.S. interior. In the first few months of the year, about 7,200 border crossers and illegal aliens were boarded.

The border crossers and illegal aliens, unlike American citizens, can bypass TSA requirements — providing no proof of identification.

A report from Just the News details the waivers that are given by the Biden administration and its powerful Rolodex of NGOs, corporations, and open borders groups that help get border crossers and illegal aliens into the U.S. interior with only the promise that they will check in with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.

Documents obtained by Rep. Lance Gooden (R-TX) show NGOs like the San Diego Rapid Response Network and Jewish Family Services — both partially funded by American taxpayers — are helping the Biden administration fly illegal aliens in for free and without having to face airport security requirements.

The Biden Administration Just Forced Every American Town To Host Illegal Immigrants

The Biden administration recently turned nearly every community in America into an illegal alien sanctuary.

Under a new policy, federal immigration law enforcement is now largely prohibited from arresting criminal aliens in your neighborhood if you live near a playground, a recreation center, a school, a place of worship or religious study, a location that offers vaccinations (such as a pharmacy), a community-based organization, any location that hosts weddings (such as a civic center, hotel, or park), any location with a school bus stop, any place “where children gather,” and many more places that are common to most towns.

What used to be safe spaces for law-abiding Americans and vulnerable members of society have been transformed into safe spaces for violent offenders with no right to be in the United States.

The scope is virtually limitless and prohibits all of the authorities of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), such as “arrests, civil apprehensions, searches, inspections, seizures, service of charging documents or subpoenas, interviews, and immigration enforcement surveillance.”

Officers are prohibited from doing their job anywhere “near” a so-called “protected area,” an imprecise standard that Alejandro Mayorkas, the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), admits has “no bright-line definition.” Mayorkas, who outlined the new policy last month, claims that putting a sanctuary in every community is a “noble” way to “advance our country’s well-being” and ensure that illegal aliens have access to “essential services” and can engage in “essential activities.”

Illegal Immigrants Would Get Up To $10.5 Billion From Reconciliation Bill

The budget reconciliation package pushed by Democrats creates a new expanded child tax credit (CTC) that would pay illegal immigrants some $10.5 billion next year. All immigrants with children are eligible, regardless of how they got here and whether their children are U.S.-born.

This includes the roughly 600,000 unaccompanied minors and persons in family units stopped at the border in FY2021 and released into the country pending a hearing.

Cash welfare to illegal immigrants is not just costly; it also encourages more illegal immigration. 

Although it is referred to as a “refundable credit,” the new CTC, like the old additional child tax credit (ACTC) it replaces, pays cash to low-income families who do not pay any federal income tax. The new program significantly increases the maximum cash payment from $1,400 per child to $3,600 for children under 6, and to $3,000 for children ages 6 to 17. After 2022, the maximum payment would be $2,000 per child, but advocates hope the much larger payments will be extended.

Biden’s ‘Build Back Better Act’ Gives $800M in Cash Payments to Illegal Aliens Released into U.S.

President Joe Biden’s “Build Back Better Act,” a filibuster-proof $1.75 trillion budget reconciliation package, would give $800 million worth of cash payments to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens who were recently released into the United States interior, a new analysis states.

As Breitbart News previously reported, the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) analyzed the cost to American taxpayers if Biden’s expanded Child Tax Credit for illegal aliens was extended for at least another year as part of the reconciliation package.

Initially, the CIS analysis found that the cost to provide the tax credits to illegal aliens with children would cost about $80 billion over the course of a decade, or about $8 billion every year.

CIS Director of Research Steven Camarota now writes that the cost to taxpayers will be even more because the roughly 500,000 to 600,000 illegal aliens released into the U.S. interior this year would be eligible to receive $800 million in cash payments as a result of the tax credits.

What? Biden Press Secretary Admits DOJ Will Pay Illegal Aliens Reparations Day After POTUS Called Reports “Garbage”

President Joe Biden’s deputy press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, appeared to contradict a claim made by the President himself on Thursday, suggesting that the Department of Justice would move forward with payments of $450,000 to illegal immigrants subjected to penalties for infiltrating the southern border during President Donald Trump’s administration.

Biden had called reports of the $450k payments “garbage” on Wednesday, accusing Peter Doocy of Fox News of spreading misinformation. It appears Doocy’s information on the matter was actually correct, with Biden’s deputy press secretary admitting the DOJ was preparing a reparations package for illegals. The Wall Street Journal had originally broken news of the reparations package and the settlement figures.

Jean-Pierre’s remarks suggested that the President isn’t calling the shots in regards to the reparations program for illegal immigrants, with DOJ officials instead making policy. The ACLU had rushed to correct the President, claiming that he was unfamiliar with the policies his own government was enacting to incentivize illegal immigration.

“The President is perfectly comfortable with the DOJ settling with the individuals and families who are currently in litigation with the US government,” said Jean-Pierre. Ms. Jean-Pierre appeared to somewhat suggest that the final figure for reparations payments was higher than what Biden had anticipated, but clarified that it would ultimately be the DOJ that would finalize details of the payments.

Biden Considering $450,000 Payments To Illegal Immigrant Families Separated At Border

The Biden administration is considering paying illegal immigrant families who were separated at the border under former President Donald Trump’s policies up to $450,000 each, The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday.

The illegal immigrants filed a lawsuit claiming the federal government detention resulted in major psychological trauma, according to the WSJ. Most of the families were made up of one parent and child who could receive around $1 million in payouts, though the amount could vary by family depending on the circumstances.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) represents some of the families involved in the lawsuit against the Departments of Justice, Homeland Security (DHS) and Health and Human Services, the WSJ reported. Around 940 families filed claims and the number of those who might qualify for the settlement is expected to be lower.

“President Biden has agreed that the family separation policy is a historic moral stain on our nation that must be fully remedied,” ACLU lead negotiator Lee Gelernt said, according to the WSJ. “That remedy must include not only meaningful monetary compensation, but a pathway to remain in the country.”
