Justice Department sues Colorado over in-state tuition and financial aid for illegal immigrants

The U.S. Department of Justice is suing Colorado over the alleged offering of in-state tuition and financial aid to illegal immigrants attending public colleges and universities, the latest legal challenge over what critics say amounts to discrimination against U.S. citizens.

The lawsuit, filed Thursday in Colorado federal court, names the Colorado Commission on Higher Education, the state Department of Higher Education and its director, JB Holston, as defendants.

“For three decades, Congress has made clear that Colorado cannot give education benefits to illegal aliens that it does not give to all American citizens,” said Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward.

“By granting illegal aliens in-state tuition, Colorado is not only violating federal law but subsidizing education for illegal aliens at taxpayers’ expense.

“Our litigation efforts will not cease until we have fulfilled President [Donald] Trump’s promise that illegal aliens will not obtain preferential treatment over our nation’s own citizens.”

Fox News Digital has reached out to both agencies named in the lawsuit for comment.

A spokesperson for Colorado Gov. Jared Polis said each state has the right to determine how to grant in-state tuition rates. 

“The federal government seizing control of determining in-state tuition across the country is absurd,” the spokesperson told Fox News. “In Colorado, we are expanding access to education to provide students with the skills to get good-paying jobs and doubling down on strategies to save students money.” 

The complaint argues that the Advancing Students for a Stronger Economy Tomorrow (ASSET) Act and related state policies violate a federal statute that prohibits states from offering higher education benefits to illegal immigrants based on their residency unless the same benefits are available to all U.S. citizens.

Crazy Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson Now Pushing for Reparations Over ICE Raids 

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson must be suffering from low approval ratings because he is pushing for reparations again. This time, it’s not over slavery but about people from parts of the city that were subjected to ICE raids.

Of course, there is absolutely no money for this. The city of Chicago is broke, but Johnson has no intention of ever actually delivering on this anyway.

Johnson is simply trying to curry favor with an electorate which can’t stand him.

The city of Chicago is billions of dollars in debt, including $36 billion in pension debt. The Chicago Public School district also has a budget deficit of more than $700 million. Despite these very dire fiscal parameters, Mayor Brandon Johnson wants to spend more taxpayer money to give reparations to areas where ICE conducted immigration enforcement raids.

“I believe the most relevant ballot referendum question around receiving reparations for communities that experienced that hardship, and whether that was on the west side of Chicago or the black man being placed in an illegal chokehold or long guns being stuck into the faces of women and children, zip-tied and thrown into vehicles. Kidnapped, shot at. I mean, police officers, tear gas, right?” Johnson said. “So the updated policy in the spirit of my executive order, there’s greater alignment to create a pathway to accountability.”

Illegal Immigration Made The Average New House $30K More Expensive Under Biden

Although Americans still express strong support for legal immigration, according to the latest Gallup survey, a large plurality, including Democrats, acknowledge immigration drives up housing costs and reduces availability.

The data confirm this impression. Mass immigration has contributed heavily to the dramatic housing price increases, a newly leaked draft working paper from the Federal Reserve confirms. Illegal immigration drove 30 percent of the increase in U.S. home prices from 2021 to 2024, along with 20 percent of the rise in rent prices, the researchers found.

In total, the (at least) seven million people who entered the United States illegally in those four years raised home prices by 6.6 percent, through a “housing demand shock in the face of short-run inelastic supply,” the authors observe.

The 2008 financial crisis pushed the annual growth of America’s housing supply far below the normal historical average, and it has remained well short of the norm ever since. Meanwhile, the number of U.S. households has rapidly increased.

Illegal immigration hit tsunami levels during the Joe Biden presidency, The Federalist’s Libby Bandelin reported: “From 2021-2024, the United States saw the largest influx of immigrants in its history.”

That has put an immense amount of pressure on a stagnant housing stock. The median price of new houses sold in January 2021 was $346,400, and the average price was $408,800, according to the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Those prices rose by approximately $100,000 each, to $446,300 and $510,000 respectively, by January 2025.

That means illegal immigration, on its own, drove up the average price of a new house by $30,000 during the Biden administration.

It is important to note that the effect the Fed researchers identified was for illegal immigration only. Legal immigration pushes the total immigration effect on housing prices even higher, given that the housing supply is inelastic regardless of people’s legal status.

Net international migration to the United States was 379,000 in 2021, 1.7 million in 2022, 2.3 million in 2023, and 2.8 million in 2024, according to the U.S. Census Bureau: that is 7,179,000 people in four years. Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) Director of Research Steven Camarota put the number at 8.3 million, “larger than the individual populations of 38 states,” in a March 2025 New York Post op-ed.

These are net changes in population, the CIS noted in 2024, “offset by emigration and net mortality among the immigrant population,” thus representing the actual increase in the foreign-born population, not the number of immigrants (which would be higher, of course).

Compounding the problem was the fact that most of the new immigrants were not working, let alone building new houses. Less than half of all immigrants in the United States work. “The figures show that in the first quarter of 2024, 46 percent of those who arrived in 2022 or later were employed,” the CIS study states. “Many new immigrants are children, elderly, disabled, caregivers, or others with no ability or interest in working.”

Even able-bodied immigrants are far less likely to work than Americans. “The increase in immigration since the 1960s has coincided with a steady increase in the share of US-born men (ages 16 to 64) without a bachelor’s degree not in the labor force — neither working nor looking for work,” Camorata writes. “The percentage was 28% in January 2025, up from 20% in January 2000 and single digits in the 1960s. These individuals are not counted as unemployed because they are not actively looking for a job.”

Many of those non-workers add even more to the burden on the U.S. economy by taking government welfare benefits, including by exploiting poor monitoring of government programs for which they are not eligible. Illegal aliens are far more likely to go on welfare than native-born Americans. “Based on government data, we estimate that 59 percent of households headed by illegal immigrants use one or more major welfare programs, compared to 39 percent of households headed by the U.S.-born,” Camorata testified to a House Judiciary subcommittee in 2024.

Those immigrants’ children attend taxpayer-funded schools, costing an estimated $78 billion in 2022, according to the Foundation for American Immigration Reform. 29 percent of U.S. school-age children have an immigrant parent, Camorata wrote in his New York Post op-ed. Providing emergency medical care to illegal aliens costs American taxpayers another $7 billion a year, Camorata stated in his congressional testimony.

ICE Arrests Illegal Previously Deported FIVE TIMES After Explicit Texts Sent to ICE Agent He Thought Was a 14-Year-Old Girl

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the arrest of an illegal caught up in a sting operation.

Federico Pascual-Jimenez, from Mexico, thought he was sending sexually explicit text messages to a 14-year-old girl.

It was, in fact, an ICE agent.

In his texts, Pascual-Jimenez said he thought “age doesn’t matter.”

ICE announced on X, “.@ICEgov has ARRESTED a criminal illegal PEDOPHILE.”

“Federico Pascual-Jimenez, from Mexico, believed he was sending text messages to a 14-year-old girl who was actually an ICE agent. Pascual-Jimenez sent sexually explicit texts and said he thought ‘age doesn’t matter.’”

“This sicko’s criminal history includes a conviction for DUI, and he has been deported 5 TIMES in the past.”

“ICE is working with officials in South Dakota to ensure he is NEVER released into our streets again.”

New Jersey Joined ERIC System that DOES NOT Report If Person Is a Non-Citizen – Then Illegals Started Voting – 24 States Are NOT Using SAVE System To Verify Illegal Alien Voters!

The recent news of illegal aliens registering in mass in NJ, and then voting, is not a surprise and is almost expected.

New Jersey is one of many States that DO NOT use the free Federal SAVE system to check for illegal aliens in their voter registrations or existing voter rolls.

SAVE is an online service administered by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) that provides immigration status and U.S. citizenship information. SAVE only returns verification information. The decision to register or remove a voter remains with state or local election officials.

As of June 30th, there are 26 states using SAVE for voter-registration or voter-list-maintenance purposes. It processed 198 million cases in 2025.

The remaining 24 states have no public info that their election authority uses SAVE. Most of these 24 states are left-leaning.

New Jersey joined the non-profit ERIC in August of 2022 to help clean their voter rolls. Secretary of State Tahesha Way said, “ERIC is a powerful step to strengthen New Jersey’s elections by increasing our ability to support eligible voters while also improving the accuracy of our voting rolls.”

Obviously, this isn’t working.

Illegal Alien Defended by Sen. Richard Blumenthal and Far-Left CT Democrats Turns Out REGISTERED TO VOTE in Connecticut — Falsely Claimed U.S. Citizenship

The illegal alien from Montenegro whom Sen. Richard Blumenthal, Rep. John Larson, and other Connecticut Democrats breathlessly defended against ICE has been caught registered to vote in the Nutmeg State, falsely claiming U.S. citizenship on his voter registration form.

Sead “Seyo” Cecunjanin, a West Hartford restaurant and dry-cleaning business owner, was detained by ICE on June 20, 2026, outside a Dunkin’ Donuts on Park Road.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, Cecunjanin is a criminal illegal alien who entered the United States illegally in 1997 using a fraudulent Dutch passport.

An immigration judge issued a final order of removal against him that same year. He has a prior DUI conviction and reportedly left the country in 2024 only to be released back in under the Biden administration despite that longstanding removal order.

But you wouldn’t know any of that from listening to Blumenthal and the Connecticut Democrat machine. They rushed to his defense, organizing press conferences, rallying the community, and painting ICE as the villain for daring to enforce the law against a so-called “law-abiding” pillar of the community.

Blumenthal called the ICE action “overreaching – inhumanely and illegally,” while Larson labeled the arrest “heartbreaking” and bragged about standing up to ICE. They helped secure his release just days later on July 3.

Propaganda Press Hides Anti-ICE Motive Behind Latest Act Of Left-Wing Violence

n the latest example of anti-ICE violent extremism, a 43-year-old leftist rioter allegedly set a fire outside a federal building in Manhattan that houses offices for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and federal immigration courts. The suspect reportedly also set off fireworks in the Monday attack and had multiple pellet guns, a machete, three knives, and two axes. But you wouldn’t necessarily know that this violent attack was motivated by anti-ICE sentiment if you happened to skim some of the headlines from the propaganda press.

Andrew Arrabaca is a former U.S. Army Patriot missile systems mechanic, and according to Fox 5, he came to the federal building “armed with six incendiary devices, commercial-grade fireworks, a bucket of suspected gasoline, two axes, a hammer, a machete, three knives and airsoft pellet guns/rifles.” Video captured an individual alleged to be Arrabac pouring liquid outside the entrance to the building Monday morning before setting off fireworks to ignite flames in an attack authorities say was “driven by opposition to federal immigration enforcement.”

“He came armed with bad intentions, looking to injure people and harm people,” Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s New York Field Office James Barnacle said, according to Fox 5. “He is an anti-American, anti-government extremist. We know that from what he said post-arrest, and we know that from the actions he tried to take.”

This is all crucial context to the attack, yet the propaganda press purposely obfuscated these details.

Pix 11’s Mira Wassef and James Ford headlined their piece: “Armed man accused of setting off fireworks outside 26 Federal Plaza in NYC: FBI.” The “reporters” did acknowledge the anti-ICE motive in the lede, writing, “An armed man with an anti-ICE agenda was arrested for allegedly setting off fireworks near a federal immigration building in Lower Manhattan Monday morning, authorities said.”

But if Pix 11 knew enough to identify the suspect’s anti-ICE agenda in the first sentence of its story, there was no justification for omitting it from the headline (especially when the motive is central to understanding the attack) — unless of course the outlet wanted to downplay anti-ICE violence because it would hurt the left’s crusade to end immigration enforcement.

Jenks: GOP H-2A Amnesty Bill Would Create ‘Serf Class’ in Rural America

Fifty GOP representatives are pushing an amnesty bill that will replace many Americans and rip the economic guts from their rural districts, says Rosemary Jenks, founder of the Immigration Accountability Project.

“This is about replacing entire segments of American [agriculture] with foreign serf labor,” she told Breitbart News as she described the draft bill.

The bill “would take a lot of jobs from the districts,” said Mike Howell, president of the Oversight Project. The rural districts “would look like a country that’s not America … like a country from where the massive waves of migrants came,” he said. 

The bill is titled “Securing Agriculture’s Workforce Act of 2026.” The author is Rep. Glen Thompson (R-PA), and he has 50 co-sponsors, including four Democrats. The bill has support from a broad range of agriculture industry groups. 

The bill would amnesty the existing population of illegal migrants by letting them transfer into a year-round expansion of the uncapped, seasonal H-2A visa-worker program.

The bill would flood cheap H-2A migrants into many additional jobs — and so force young Americans out of the rural districts, said Jenks. “Americans living in those areas … are going to have to leave — they’re not going to have any choice,” said Jenks.

Another One: Jasmine Crockett Goes on Unhinged Screaming Rant About ICE and White People – “Ya’ll Knew it Was Coming. It’s Just Racist, Racist, Racist… What This is About is Whiteness”

Racist Texas Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett began screaming about White “colonizers,” ICE, and the Trump Administration during a House Judiciary Committee Hearing on Tuesday in typical fashion. 

During the hearing on the “Permanent Trump Secure Border Act,” which would codify President Trump’s immigration policies before the midterm elections, the outgoing Congresswoman lost it.

Crockett even acknowledged her history of insane race-baiting and anti-White hate, at one point telling her colleagues, “y’all knew it was coming, especially once I showed up” before her unhinged rant.

She began by railing against ICE detention centers in warehouses that hold thousands of illegals.

“But let’s talk about what this is really about,” she continued. “and I know y’all knew it was coming, especially once I showed up: It’s racist. It’s just racist, racist, racist!”

“Okay, now let me tell you why it is racist. All right, this ain’t about whether or not you’re concerned that the immigrant is coming in and the immigrant is gonna kill everybody. That is not what it is. It’s not,” Crockett said.

“It’s the things like what your fearless leader said when he said they’re poisoning the blood, okay? What this is about is racism!”

Crockett then decried Trump for plans to allow White South African refugees, fleeing persecution, into the country.

“Let me just be clear: your president, he is the one that said white South African refugees needed their own program, and so therefore he decided that he would raise the cap on how many refugees could come into the United States, but it was only raised for white South Africans. The administration set a limit of 17,500 slots planned to admit more white South Africans as refugees this year,” she said.

Crockett further slammed ICE agents, calling them “completely incompetent” who don’t “know how to do the daggone job,” accusing them of “specifically targeting people because of how they look.”

Then, it was back to attacking White people for existing, screaming, and suggesting that they should be deported.

“The people that were here are the indigenous folk, and you know who ICE been rounding up? They’ve been rounding up indigenous people, the people that originally came, not the colonizers, but the original people,” Crockett shouted.

She continued, screaming, “So, what this is about is whiteness. Everything that this administration has pushed has been about white supremacy, your fear. In fact, you say things like, ‘Oh, you just want them to come in so that they will vote for you,’ because we know that when you look at the numbers, I mean, I’m just being real with this, but white people, they not the ones that carry the Democrats. They aren’t. And so this is literally about you say things, you tell on yourselves, you believe that somehow they will become citizens and they will start voting in the interest of equity. Those are the things you fight against when you say no diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

Crockett further excused the crime committed by the minority population, saying, “You want to sit up here and act like the crime is being perpetrated by people of color, but the statistics say otherwise. If you look at the real numbers… anybody can commit a crime on any given day.” It is unclear if she was suggesting that Whites commit more crimes per capita (untrue) or if she was just saying that Whites commit crimes too.

“I know that y’all believe in propaganda, and y’all don’t want people to know the truth, and y’all definitely don’t want them to know history, because then you gotta again acknowledge colonizing,” she said.

DOJ Opens Investigation Into ERIC State New Jersey Over 6,600 Illegal Alien Voter Registration Discrepancy

Earlier today, The Gateway Pundit reported that the governor of New Jersey announced a “serious software error” with the New Jersey Motor Vehicle System that led to the registration of almost 7,000 people “who indicated that they were not U.S. citizens” from June 2023 through June 2024 under the previous administration.

Governor Mikie Sherrill announced that the matter was under investigation and that “fewer than 400 individuals who were newly registered” voted.

Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon of the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, however, also announced a federal investigation.  In a letter posted to her official X account, AAG Dhillon wrote:

Earlier today you represented that approximately 6,600 people who self-identified as noncitizens between June 2023 and June 2024 were nevertheless registered to vote in New Jersey.  Indeed, approximately 400 of those individuals voted.

Ensuring that U.S. citizens’ votes are not illegally diluted by noncitizens’ votes is of paramount importance.  We therefore write to formally request additional information to asses New Jersey’s compliance with various federal statutes, as provided in our July 7, 2026, letter to the Lieutenant Governor.
