Carney wants sweeping powers over your phone while using a foreign one himself

Prime Minister Mark Carney wants sweeping new powers over Canada’s telecommunications system. But according to a recent Wall Street Journal report, when it comes to his own communications, he’s reportedly relying on a U.K.-based cellphone to communicate with foreign leaders.

If true, the irony is impossible to ignore.

The Carney government is pushing Bill C-22, legislation that would significantly expand Ottawa’s authority over Canada’s telecommunications sector in the name of national security. The bill would give the federal government broad powers to issue security orders to telecommunications companies, require providers to comply with government directives, and increase federal oversight of Canada’s communications infrastructure.

Canadians are being told these extraordinary powers are necessary because secure communications matter.

Apparently, that principle may not apply to the Prime Minister himself.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Carney has continued using a British cellphone while speaking with foreign leaders. If that reporting is accurate, Canadians deserve answers.

The issue isn’t simply where the phone was purchased; it’s about whether the Prime Minister is following the same security, transparency, and record-keeping standards imposed on everyone else in government, and now on the public. 

Among the questions that should be answered:

  • Communications security: Was the device approved for sensitive government communications under standards established by the Communications Security Establishment (CSE) and Treasury Board?
  • Government records: Were official calls, text messages and other communications retained in accordance with the Library and Archives of Canada Act and federal information management policies?
  • Access to Information: If government business was conducted using a foreign device or foreign telecommunications provider, are those records preserved in a manner that complies with the Access to Information Act, or could they be more difficult for Canadians to obtain?
  • Government device policies: Was the phone issued, managed and secured by the Government of Canada, or was it a personal device used for official business?
  • Foreign jurisdiction: Were official communications routed or stored through infrastructure subject to U.K. law, and what security assessment was conducted before using that device to communicate with foreign leaders?
  • Bill C-22: Why is the government demanding unprecedented oversight of Canadian telecommunications providers on national security grounds while the Prime Minister reportedly relies on a foreign telecommunications provider for his own communications?

Ottawa insists foreign technology, foreign influence and foreign infrastructure pose national security concerns. Yet the Prime Minister himself reportedly chose a foreign cellphone and foreign carrier while conducting international diplomacy.

The radical left’s “Believe All Women” mantra has officially been exposed as a total fraud yet again.

Former Congresswoman Elaine Luria had the audacity to dismiss explosive sexual assault allegations against Maine Democrat Senate candidate Graham Platner as nothing more than a Republican “boogeyman” and “shiny new thing” designed to scare people.

In an interview, Luria, who is running to reclaim Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District seat, brushed off the bombshell claims against her fellow Democrat while insisting she’s “singularly focused on this district” and her “proven record.”

Here’s what Luria said:

“I’m singularly focused on this district, the message of what’s important to people here in Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District. And they’re always going to try to find a boogeyman and tie, you know, the Democrat to whatever shiny new thing is going to scare people. But the truth is, is I have a proven record in Congress and I’m focused on listening to, supporting, and then representing those people across this district.”

Ken Paxton Vowed to Crack Down on “Illegal Voting.” He May Have Violated Texas Election Law.

Two weeks before this year’s primary elections, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced the creation of a tip line for the public to report people or groups suspected of voter fraud.

“Free and fair elections are a cornerstone of a thriving republic, and with the authority granted to my office by the Legislature, we will stop at nothing to uncover and stop any illegal voting activity,” Paxton said in a February news release announcing the tip line.

The announcement linked to guidance from his office about election laws in Texas, which included a requirement to be a U.S. citizen, a prohibition on collecting mail ballots on behalf of others and a warning that “it is illegal to misrepresent your residence on election records or to establish a residence for the purpose of influencing the outcome of an election.”

“You must register to vote using the address where you reside,” the attorney general’s guidance stated.

Despite his own warnings, Paxton appears to have used an address where he did not live while voting in six elections in the past two years, including in May’s runoff that made him the Republican nominee for U.S. senator, according to records obtained by ProPublica and The Texas Tribune.

State Sen. Angela Paxton said in a 2025 divorce filing that Paxton, whom she accused of adultery, moved out of their Collin County home a year earlier. But Paxton continues to list the home’s address in the northern Dallas suburb on his voter registration. Angela Paxton declined to be interviewed. A source close to the Paxtons said the attorney general has not moved back into the home since leaving.

It is unclear where Paxton has lived for the past two years, but reporting by ProPublica and the Tribune has linked him to a home in neighboring Denton County since February.

Multi-platinum recording artist Alicia Keys just dropped a fresh dose of radical feminist grievance porn on Instagram, sobbing that it’s been “100 years since the Equal Rights Amendment was first introduced” and gasp “women don’t have an explicit guarantee to equal rights under the U.S. Constitution.”

The out-of-touch celebrity then directed her followers to the site peoplesbillofrights250.org to “turn outrage into authorship” and help craft some new “People’s Bill of Rights” for America’s 250th anniversary.

In a video posted to Instagram, Keys said:

“Did you know that it’s been 100 years since the Equal Rights Amendment was first introduced? And now, still, women don’t have an explicit guarantee to equal rights under the U.S. Constitution. Can you believe that? I couldn’t even believe that was real. I mean, women are not asking for special rights, just equal rights.

Let’s turn outrage into authorship. If it’s the 250th celebration of the country, isn’t it time to update some things? What rights or guarantees do you feel all women should have in America? Hypocrite Democrats FINALLY Start Bailing From Platner After Latest Allegations

I guess the Nazi tattoo, the despicable online posts, the portapotty fetish, and the domestic abuse allegations weren’t enough for Democrats to admit Graham Platner (D-Maine) is a horrible human being, but now, following fresh allegations of sexual assault, Democrats are finally heading for the exits.

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) and Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.), two of the Maine Senate candidate’s most loyal defenders, yanked their endorsements on Monday, and Khanna went even further by calling on Platner to quit the race altogether.

How noble of them.

Make no mistake about it, the report that FINALLY broke the dam is damning.

Jenny Racicot, a Maine resident who dated Platner, told Politico that he forced her to have sex with him nearly five years ago despite her repeated objections. She detailed the alleged incident in three interviews over two weeks. Politico also spoke with a man she dated afterward and reviewed documents, including emails between Racicot and her therapist, as well as messages in which she had warned an acquaintance against getting involved with Platner long before he ever ran for office.

B.C.’s oil tanker ban exposed: Why U.S. oil gets a pass but Alberta doesn’t

B.C.’s oil tanker ban is once again under scrutiny as questions mount over why it restricts Alberta crude while allowing foreign oil shipments to pass through the province’s coast.

Drea Humphrey argued that Premier David Eby has emerged as the biggest winner from the latest pipeline discussions between Alberta and Ottawa. “He’s getting exactly what he wanted,” she said, pointing to billions in promised infrastructure spending while any potential pipeline benefits remain years away.

Humphrey also questioned the province’s opposition to transporting Alberta oil by tanker, noting that large foreign vessels already travel the same waters. “How is that any less of a risk to the North Coast?” she asked.

Sheila Gunn Reid argued the federal approach ignores what she sees as an obvious alternative. She noted that American tankers from Alaska are permitted to use the same coastal route, saying, “The tanker ban only applies to Alberta oil. It doesn’t apply to American oil.”

Rather than reviving the cancelled Northern Gateway route to Kitimat, Gunn Reid said the proposed pipeline would head south to Vancouver, making it “infinitely more expensive and inconvenient.”

“I refuse to see this as the win everybody is touting it as,” she added. “It’s likely never going to get built.”

First $1 Billion, Now $50 Million: Khanna Says Wealth Tax “Must Not Stop At Billionaires”

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) – fresh off endorsing California’s November ballot measure to seize 5% of billionaire wealth – published a Substack essay Wednesday titled, no really, “Why I Support a Billionaire Wealth Tax.”

He makes it roughly a dozen paragraphs before explaining that it isn’t one.

“The tax should not stop at billionaires, it must reach centimillionaires,” Khanna writes, before spelling out exactly what that means: every fortune of $50 million and up, hit with a 2% federal levy on wealth above that line – every year, forever, on top of everything else you already pay. The vehicle is Elizabeth Warren’s Ultra-Millionaire Tax Act, which Khanna notes he has cosponsored every single year it’s been introduced.

And before anyone reaches for the estate planner: Khanna wants the levy to pierce irrevocable trusts, with the tax billed to the grantor who set them up – because parking a fortune in a trust, in his telling, shouldn’t take it off the government’s books.

Former Microsoft executive Steven Sinofsky summed up the reveal in eight words: “Just like that, no longer a billionaires tax.“

Pirate Wires’ Mike Solana was less diplomatic, characterizing the scheme as an annual asset seizure in which the government tallies everything you own and demands a cut on top of your existing tax bill – now openly targeting anyone worth $50 million. His prediction for where the ratchet stops: “this ends with your 401k.”

Mayor Zohran Mamdani Ordered New Yorkers to Cut Back on AC — But City Hall Was Kept as Cold as 54 Degrees

New York City Hall was kept as cold as 54 degrees during this week’s heat wave, despite Mayor Zohran Mamdani urging residents to set their air conditioners to 78 degrees to reduce strain on the power grid.

According to an investigation by the New York Post, reporters measured temperatures at 20 locations inside City Hall and other municipal buildings using an infrared thermometer.

All but five locations were below the 78-degree level Mamdani had urged New Yorkers to follow.

Around noon, areas including the Rotunda, the Governor’s Room, the City Council chambers and hallways near the mayor’s office reportedly measured around 77 degrees, while the mayor’s first-floor press office registered 78 degrees.

As the day progressed, temperatures reportedly dropped further.

Indeed, Swift voiced her support for gun control after the February 14, 2018, Parkland shooting and donated to March for Our Lives.

Swift posted to her 273 million Instagram followers “No one should have to go to school in fear of gun violence. Or to a nightclub. Or to a concert. Or to a movie theater. Or to their place of worship.”

The post continued, “I’ve made a donation to show my support for the students, for the March For Our Lives campaign, for everyone affected by these tragedies, and to support gun reform. I’m so moved by the Parkland High School students, faculty, by all families and friends of victims who have spoken out, trying to prevent this from happening again.”

Conservative Catches CNN Host Abby Phillip in a Glaring Hypocrisy as She Defends Communist NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s Absurd Demand on Air Conditioning

Notorious CNN host Abby Phillip’s efforts to defend communist New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s demand for air conditioning went sideways when one of her guests caught her in a huge hypocrisy.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Mamdani on Wednesday requested that New Yorkers set their thermostats to 78 degrees. He claimed this was to alleviate stress on the energy grid.

Temperatures are soaring into the triple digits in the Midwest and East Coast this week and into the July 4th holiday weekend.

“The best protection against extreme heat is air conditioning, he added. If you don’t have it at home, know now where you’ll go to stay cool. Check in on your neighbors, especially seniors, and if you see someone outside who appears to be in distress, call 311 so we can get help to them.

“This administration is using every tool we have to keep New Yorkers safe, but the strongest city is one where neighbors look out for one another. And to every business owner, please set your thermostats to 78 degrees to alleviate the stress on our grid.”

Of course, we all know the Gracie Mansion (where Mamdani lives) will be fully air-conditioned. According to Marxists like him, the rules should apply only to the masses.

Phillip, though, saw Mamdani’s demands as reasonable. During her show last night, she repeatedly cited then-South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley’s similar requests from a 2015 heat wave in the Palmetto State as a reason to let New Yorkers suffer.

Conservative guest Ben Ferguson then challenged Phillip by asking whether she raised the temperature in her home in solidarity with Mamdani. This caused the panel to go off the rails.

After the shouting died down, Ferguson dropped a bombshell: the CNN studio they were debating in was nowhere near 78 degrees.
