Swalwell Caught Paying His Wife with Campaign Cash for Child Care in 2026 California Governor’s Race

If you were a donor to Eric Swalwell’s gubernatorial campaign, how would you react to learning that your contributions were used to pay his own wife to watch their children?

As Swalwell now runs for governor of California, a troubling pattern of campaign spending is drawing scrutiny, one that now includes direct payments to his spouse for “childcare.”

These payments do not stand alone. They come after years of similar child care expenditures through his congressional campaign, which are already the subject of my formal complaint before the Federal Election Commission (FEC).

A New Round of Payments—This Time to His Wife

Recent disclosures from Swalwell’s gubernatorial campaign show multiple payments made directly to “Swalwell, Brittany” for child care: $2,301.00, $2,026.50, and $1,740.50.

These are not minor reimbursements; they are substantial, repeated payments to a candidate’s spouse.

Dem Activists Accuse Sleazebag Rep. Eric Swalwell of Sexual Harassment — Warn ‘Many Women’ Preparing to Come Forward

A Democratic activist says a number of women are preparing to accuse California Rep. Eric Swalwell of sexual misconduct.

Cheyenne Hunt, an attorney, former congressional candidate, and executive director of Gen Z for Change, said she has been working with multiple individuals who intend to come forward.

In a post on the X platform, Hunt said the allegations involve “DMs and Snapchat messages” and range “from uncomfortable comments to potentially criminal conduct.”

“I got involved because the first victim who approached me is a close friend, but when I saw that there were others whose experiences fit the same pattern of manipulation and abuse of power, I knew I couldn’t stay silent,” Hunt wrote.

She claimed the alleged behavior involved “employees, interns, and fans,” adding that Swalwell acted “as a mentor just to exploit that power.”

“Other women needed to know that they were not alone and that someone had their backs if they came forward.

“After I spoke about my friend’s experience, many brave women came forward and shared their stories with me.”

Secret link between Eric Swalwell, his billionaire pal and a Penthouse Pet accused of honey trapping rich old men

Stephen Cloobeck, an eccentric, lefty billionaire who’s burned more than $1 million supporting Rep. Eric Swalwell’s run for California governor, is engaged to a Penthouse Pet and Israeli OnlyFans model who’s facing a string of criminal charges for allegedly burglarizing the homes of rich old men in Los Angeles.

The Post can reveal that Swalwell’s campaign benefactor recently became engaged to Adva Lavie, who also goes by the name Shoshana and has been accused of posing as a romantic partner or travel companion before stealing cash, gold, and high-end designer goods.

In an exclusive interview, Cloobeck told The Post that his new fiancée – whom he started dating just eight months ago – is not a “menace to society” but rather a victim like himself.

“The story is twisted. Her story has not been told,” Cloobeck said.

“She has been abused. I’m a man that has been abused by women. You don’t think I’ve done my homework?”

The alleged honeytrapper is set to be arraigned Monday on six felony charges, including two counts of grand theft, two counts of burglary and two counts of unauthorized use of personal identifying information.

Cloobeck and Shoshana’s engagement party was held in March at Cloobeck’s $26 million home – the same Beverly Hills mansion where Swalwell has been posting promotional videos for his campaign while missing votes in Congress.

Social media posts show Swalwell appears to have visited Cloobeck’s palatial 9,700-square-foot estate numerous times since September.

luxury real estate listing for the home notes that it is “double gated,” presumably to keep criminals out. But it now appears the full house has also included a woman with an ankle monitor.

Prosecutors allege that between 2023 and 2025, Lavie used dating apps to cultivate relationships with wealthy older men and younger women across Los Angeles County, including in Beverly Hills and West Hollywood.

District Attorney Nathan Hochman said Lavie “exploited trust built through online relationships to gain access to victims’ homes and steal from them.”

Eric Swalwell Threatens FBI Agents Amid Fang Fang Drama After Bondi’s Firing

Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell on Friday threatened FBI agents during an appearance on CNN on Friday.

Swalwell ran to CNN to discuss Trump’s decision to fire Pam Bondi as Attorney General.

The Democrat lawmaker who is currently running for governor of California claimed FBI agents are being asked to break the law every single day.

“To the FBI agents who are being asked to break the law every single day. What we want to make clear, and I know this comes from Jamie Raskin and Robert Garcia, who will have the subpoena power next Congress,” Swalwell said without offering any proof whatsoever.

He continued, “You will be protected if you come forward right now.”

“If you do not come forward right now and you enable more corruption on Epstein or the weaponization, you will be before Congress, and it will all come out,” Swalwell said.

Even CNN was skeptical.

Eric Swalwell raids retirement, delays tax payments as he runs for California governor

Eric Swalwell has been dipping into his retirement savings and postponing his tax payments as he campaigns to become California’s next governor.

The Democratic congressman, 45, who is polling as high as 17 percent in a crowded field, has also tapped more than $200,000 in campaign funds to cover childcare costs.

Tax returns from 2021 to 2024 show Swalwell dramatically reduced how much he paid in federal taxes, from $32,000 in 2021 to just $2,580 in 2022, before withholding nothing in 2023 to maximize his take-home pay.

The filings also reveal that roughly $145,000 of the family’s income came from withdrawals from retirement accounts, showing the extent to which he’s been forced to rely on savings as he gears up for his run for governor.

Swalwell’s financial maneuvering comes despite a comfortable income. He earned a congressional salary of about $184,000 in 2024 and, with his wife Brittany Watts, reports a combined annual income of about $444,000.

Eric Swalwell makes wild claim about secret Kash Patel plot

Congressman Eric Swalwell, a leading Democratic candidate in the California gubernatorial race, accused President Donald Trump this weekend of meddling in the election after reports that his administration is seeking to publicize files about Swalwell’s link to a Chinese spy.

Swalwell appeared in multiple media appearances to capitalize on the report and told CNN that Trump and FBI Director Kash Patel are “dangerous individuals.”

“Donald Trump and Kash Patel do not get to pick the next governor. Californians do,” Swalwell said on Saturday.

Patel is reportedly pushing to release documents around Christine Fang, also known as Fang Fang, a suspected Chinese intelligence agent who cultivated ties with American politicians, according to The Washington Post.

Fang developed extensive ties with Swalwell when he was a city council member at Dublin. She bundled donations for his 2014 reelection campaign and recommended staff for his office. Fang allegedly had sexual relationships with at least two mayors.

Swalwell wasn’t immediately removed from a congressional committee over his ties to Fang, but Rep. Kevin McCarthy ordered a House Ethics Committee investigation into the incident after he became House Speaker in 2021.

In a podcast shared with the California Post, Swalwell’s gubernatorial campaign insisted he was cleared of wrongdoing.

“The air was cleared immediately by the FBI when there was even a suggestion of wrongdoing,” Swalwell told the Sources Say podcast.

His connections with the Chinese spy have dogged his campaign for governor. The Democrat even got into an online spat with Barstool founder Dave Portnoy, who commented, “Call me crazy I like my politicians not to get tricked by foreign spies.”

Kash Patel Pushing to Release Investigative Files Related to Swalwell’s Relationship with Chinese Spy and Honeypot Fang Fang: Report

FBI Director Kash Patel is reportedly pushing to release investigative files related to Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell’s relationship with Fang Fang.

In was previously reported that the Intel Community has a classified report detailing Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell’s intimate relationship with Chinese spy and honeypot Fang Fang.

Recall, according to Axios, Fang Fang was a “bundler” for Eric Swalwell and other Democrat candidates but it was also reported the Chinese spy had an intimate relationship with Swalwell.

A source on Capitol Hill previously confirmed to the Federalist that Swalwell indeed had a sexual relationship with Fang Fang.

Despite the Chinese spy scandal, Swalwell remained on the House Intelligence Committee (thanks to Pelosi) and had access to some of the nation’s most highly classified information.

In 2021, Breitbart News reported that China puppet Joe Biden was hiding the classified report on Swalwell’s sexual relationship with Fang Fang.

“The report, which intelligence and national security sources familiar with its contents who spoke on condition of anonymity told Breitbart News, contains details of the nature of Swalwell’s relationship with Fang Fang including certain sexual acts they allegedly engaged in together. Sources familiar with it, however, would not provide any more detail on the nature of those acts or other details in the report—which is currently classified,” Breitbart News reported.

“For those who have seen the details of the Swalwell case, it was shocking that Pelosi and Schiff so willingly kept him on the intelligence committee even for nakedly partisan lawmakers like themselves,” a former senior national security official familiar with the details of the report told Breitbart News.

Eric Swalwell “Nannygate” Explodes: DHS and FEC Complaints Allege Illegal Alien Employment and Misuse of Campaign Funds for Childcare

On February 16, 2026, I filed two well-documented federal complaints against Congressman Eric Swalwell, one with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS/ICE), and another with the Federal Election Commission (FEC). Together, these filings raise serious questions about whether Swalwell engaged in illegal patterns of conduct that reflect his disregard for federal law and a potential abuse of campaign funds for personal benefit.

At issue are two distinct but closely related allegations: first, that Swalwell continued employing a foreign national nanny illegally for two years after her legal work authorization expired; and second, that he illegally used campaign funds to cover what appear to be ongoing personal childcare expenses totaling more than $300,000.

Taken together, these allegations suggest a sustained pattern in which legal requirements were well understood by Swalwell, and then ignored for personal gain. I published both complaints on SwalwellisDisqualified.com.

The DHS/ICE Complaint: Alleged Employment of an Unauthorized Worker

In 2022, Eric Swalwell and his wife employed a Brazilian national, Amanda Barbosa, as a live-in Au Pair under the J-1 visa program. Barbosa resided in the Swalwell household and provided full-time childcare for their three young children. In 2022, Barbosa was paid approximately $46,929.70 for her services by Swalwell’s campaign under “Childcare for Campaign Events”.

Critically, Barbosa’s J-1 visa, and thus her legal authorization to work, expired at the end of December 2022. The Swalwells were fully aware of this deadline. In fact, earlier in 2022, they attempted to secure permanent work authorization for Barbosa by filing a federal labor certification (ETA-9089), which required a formal job posting in The Washington Post. Their advertisement outlined a demanding, full-time nanny position which included:

  • taking care of 3 kids & help satisfy kids’ physical, emotional, intellectual, & social needs
  • assist w/care of dog, organize kids’ play activities, drive kids to appts & activities
  • household cleaning &laundry, prep kids’ meals, Mon to Fri, 7A to 4P, Wknd work time

The Swalwell’s permanent work authorization application was denied by the Department of Labor.

More Questions Have Surfaced About Eric Swalwell’s Eligibility to Run for California Governor

Back in January, a California filmmaker filed a lawsuit claiming that Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell, who is running to replace outgoing Governor Gavin Newsom, is ineligible to run for the seat. Why? The suit claims that Swalwell has no permanent California residence, and that he lives in a $1.2 million D.C. mansion he claimed as his primary residence for mortgage purposes.

Now one of Swalwell’s Democratic opponents, Tom Steyer, is also making the claim that Swalwell is ineligible to run.

Here’s more:

Tom Steyer’s campaign petitioned the California secretary of state to enforce a dormant residency requirement in the governor’s race, arguing rival Eric Swalwell “appears to live in California on paper only.”

The request, first reported here, elevates a charge that was previously limited to conservative critics into a full-blown campaign attack by one of Swalwell’s top-polling Democratic opponents.

The secretary of state’s office has for years considered a requirement that candidates reside in the state for five years immediately prior to the election to be unconstitutional and unenforceable. But Steyer’s campaign argued a hostile Trump administration — which has lobbed mortgage fraud allegations against Swalwell after the House member helped lead impeachment proceedings against the president — could exploit legal ambiguity to embroil California in a “constitutional crisis” if Swalwell wins.

This means Swalwell is lying about his residency or possibly committed mortgage fraud.

Eric Swalwell claims he lives in California — neighbors say they’ve never seen him

In the face of a lawsuit and growing verbal attacks on the campaign trail, Rep. Eric Swalwell — the Democratic frontrunner in the California governor’s race — insists he’s kept a home in the state for nearly nine years while serving in Congress.

But that would be news to Swalwell’s neighbors.

Five people who live on the quiet Livermore cul-de-sac where Swalwell claims to have lived since 2017 told The California Post on Wednesday that they have never met the congressman.

“I’ve never seen him,” said Gita Prusty, who noted she’s lived on Michell Court for five years.

Prusty’s home is one of seven on the cul-de-sac where Swalwell has claimed residency, and she wasn’t the only one confused when shown his photo.
