“Reduce the Need for Personal Vehicles”: Top Massachusetts Democrat Wants to Limit How Many Miles Residents Can Drive or Drive at All, Because ‘Climate Change’

Massachusetts Senate Majority Leader Cynthia Stone Creem (D) introduced a bill this year to create a commission with the goal of reducing the number of miles driven by residents in their cars because of ‘climate change’, with an ultimate goal to “reduce the need for personal vehicles.”

The 82-year-old Creem wants the state government to promulgate regulations that could fine residents for driving too much and force them into riding public transportation, using bikes paths and walking.

Excerpts from Bill S. 2246:

(b) No metropolitan planning organization shall approve a Regional Transportation Plan or Transportation Improvement Program developed pursuant to 23 CFR Part 450, and the department shall not approve a Statewide Transportation Improvement Program, unless the plan or program, including any mitigation measures interlinked to individual projects within the plan or program, provides a reasonable pathway to compliance with the greenhouse gas emissions sublimits for the transportation set pursuant to section 3A of chapter 21N and to the statewide vehicles miles traveled reduction goals established by the secretary pursuant to section 81 of this chapter.

SKIP

(f) The department may promulgate rules or regulations for the implementation of this section.

Section 81. (a) To relieve traffic congestion, improve air quality, and promote compliance with the greenhouse gas emissions limits established pursuant to chapter 21N, the secretary shall, in consultation with the secretary of economic development, the secretary of energy and environmental affairs, and the secretary of housing and livable communities, set a statewide vehicle miles traveled reduction goal for the year 2030 and for every fifth year thereafter. The vehicle miles traveled reduction goals shall be incorporated into: (i) the greenhouse gas emissions sublimits for the transportation sector set pursuant to subsection (b) of section 3A of chapter 21N; and (ii) the roadmap plans published pursuant to subsection (b) of section 3 of said chapter 21N.

SKIP

The council shall assess and report on strategies and plans necessary to reduce statewide vehicles miles traveled through the establishment of an equitable, interconnected, accessible and reliable network of non-personal vehicle transportation options and through land use policies that reduce the need for personal vehicles. The plan shall facilitate: (i) compliance with the greenhouse gas emissions limits and sublimits set pursuant to chapter 21N of the General Laws, with emphasis on compliance with the emissions limits and sublimits set for 2030; (ii) attainment of the numerical benchmarks for vehicle miles traveled set pursuant to section 81 of chapter 6C; (iii) the development of compact, walkable neighborhoods; and (iv) advancement of access to, and affordability of, non-personal vehicle transportation options.

The assessment shall include, but not be limited to: (i) the present condition of, and future needs for, non-personal vehicle transportation infrastructure and services, including, but not limited to, bicycle paths and lanes; bicycle sharing stations; pedestrian paths; bus, ferry, subway, and train services; transportation demand management programs; and microtransit programs ; (ii) the present status of, and future needs for, land use policies that reduce the need for personal vehicles; (iii) suggestions for optimal locations for new, expanded or improved non-personal vehicle transportation options in urban, suburban and rural areas including, but not limited to, low-income and moderate-income communities; (iv) discussion of programs and policies that may incentivize residents to adopt non-personal vehicle transportation options; (v) discussion of present and projected future costs and methods of financing those costs; (viii) recommendations to assist local governmental and private sector officials in expanding access to non-personal vehicle transportation options and in planning and developing compact, walkable neighborhoods; and (ix) identification and discussion of current policies and recommendations for policies, laws and regulatory actions that may facilitate reductions in vehicle miles traveled.

Despite decades of Democrat health initiatives, Americans are sicker than ever

Heath and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. had a viral and heated exchange with Senator Patty Murphy, D-Wash., during a Senate Appropriations hearing last week that was supposed to focus on budget priorities for his department.

The exchange between the two went off the rails when Murray accused Kennedy of “sprinting down the road to illegally impounding billions in funding through intentional action and incompetence.” She highlighted a number of programs which fall under his purview that Kennedy has considered altering or omitting.

Kennedy’s came back with a mic-drop response that tied decades of growing health problems in America to the policies of Murray’s party.

“Senator, you’ve presided here, I think for 32 years. You have presided over the destruction of the health of the American people. Our people are now the sickest people in the world, because you have not done your job,” Kennedy fired back.

Data and history back up his argument.

Most recently, the COVID-19 pandemic destroyed public trust in health authorities and agencies.

In April 2020, trust sat at a reasonable 71.5%. Four years later in April 2024 it plummeted to 40.1%, according to a 50-state survey of U.S. adults led by Northeastern University’s distinguished professor of political science and computer sciences.

Liberals Suddenly Value Fiscal Responsibility After Budget Office Says More Births Will Increase Deficit

Liberals have a new argument for keeping federal money flowing to Planned Parenthood: defunding the organization would cost taxpayers more.

Democrats and abortion advocates are framing the defunding of one of the largest abortion providers in the country as a financial “cost” to taxpaying Americans. Citing estimates from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), they are voicing concern that the GOP’s plan to block Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood through the GOP reconciliation bill would increase the national deficit by $300 million due to more babies being born.

“About three in four people say they oppose defunding Planned Parenthood health centers. But Republicans do not care — they need to appease their far-right, anti-choice fringe,” Democratic Washington Sen. Patty Murray said on May 14 about the CBO’s estimates. “Although the irony is, in this case, defunding Planned Parenthood would actually cost our country more money in the long term.”

Murray’s office did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

Planned Parenthood performed over 400,000 abortions in fiscal year 2023-24 and received more than $700 million in government reimbursements and grants, according to its latest annual report. In contrast, private contributions dropped 31% relative to the previous fiscal year, totaling $684.1 million.

The CBO declined to clarify how the deficit would increase due to the federal cuts in response to a DCNF inquiry.

However, the CBO stated in 2015 that a House bill to block federal funding to Planned Parenthood would increase spending by $130 million over the course of a decade. The reason, CBO explained, was that the bill would reduce “services that help women avert pregnancies” and that “additional births that would result from enacting such a bill would add to federal spending for Medicaid.”

Democrats Always Rally Around The Worst People

Is there a single Democrat you’d trust to water your plants if you went out of town for a week? Is there one you’d ask to watch your kid, even for a minute, in an emergency? The answer you’re looking for is no, you would not. You wouldn’t because you have a brain; you wouldn’t because you’re not an idiot. But mostly you wouldn’t because you see with your own eyes who these people are and what these people do.

If you left your kid with them you’d expect a Democrat to try to “transition” them. Why? Why not? It’s what they do, it’s who they are. It’s what one of their top priorities are, and you can tell everything you need to know about someone by what their priorities are.

If you were an illegal alien, you might be able to trust a Democrat to water your plants. They love illegal aliens like Eric Swalwell likes Fang Fang. But like Swalwell, Democrats are constantly elevating the wrong people.

Ever heard of “LaMonica McIver”? Probably not. She only assumed office after her predecessor, another Democrat, died last year. She won the special election to replace Donald Payne Jr, then the general election in November with 74.4 percent of the vote, so you know you’re dealing with someone elected because of their party, not their intellect.

I would joke that “She’s single, fellas,” but she apparently not…poor bastard.

Here is where I would list her accomplishments, but she doesn’t have any. She hasn’t been in Congress long enough to have done anything, and she hasn’t. She’s not likely to, either. I mean, she’s a Democrat from Newark who served on the city council. Has anything good come out of Newark?

But she hit and shoved an ICE agent, which makes her wildly popular among Democrats.

How does this idiot, who is on video assaulting a federal officer, become someone a political party elevates as a hero? In a fundraising emails, LaMonica wrote, “The Trump administration just charged me with crimes for engaging in congressional oversight. This is a first — and it’s a flashing red light for our democracy. I conducted oversight at an ICE facility in my district to do my job and my lawful right as a member of Congress. It’s clear: Trump and his administration are more concerned with punishing anyone who dares to speak up than transparency or oversight.”

Father Of DC Shooting Suspect Was Democrats’ Honored Guest At Trump Congressional Address

The father of the suspected gunman in the murder of two Israeli Embassy staffers at the Capital Jewish Museum on Wednesday, was the honored guest of a far-left lawmaker at President Trump’s joint address to Congress back in Marchthe New York Post reported.

Eric Rodriguez is an anti-Trump SEIU member who also spoke at a Democrat press conference ahead of Trump’s address.

His son, accused killer Elias Rodriguez, 30, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder after allegedly gunning down Yaron Lischinsky, 28, and Sarah Milgrim, 26, who were about to become engaged.

“Eric Rodriguez was our guest during the President’s Joint Speech to Congress, but we don’t know his family,” a spokesperson for Rep. Jesús “Chuy” García (D-Ill.) told the Post Thursday night.

García in March had described Rodriguez as “an outspoken advocate against attacks on veterans’ services and the rights of unionized federal employees.”

His mention of “attacks on veteran services” appeared to be a reference to the Department of Government Efficiency’s work eliminating of waste fraud and abuse from the system.

“Eric represents the very best of our community — someone who has served his country, continues to serve his fellow veterans and fights every day to protect the dignity of working people,” the congressman said in a statement on March 3. “His presence at the Joint Address is a powerful statement: we will not sit back while veterans and workers are treated as political pawns.”

According to the Post, Rodriguez also appeared in a Service Employees International Union (SEIU) video that same day, speaking as an Iraq War vet and an employee with the Veterans Affairs Department.

The SEIU, one of the largest labor unions in North America, donates millions of dollars to left-wing Democrat politicians who promote government expansion and higher taxes.

I’ve been with the VA for three years, and the reason why I’m in Washington, DC, is because I’m concerned about what Donald Trump, Elon Musk and DOGE are doing to the VA system,” he said in the SEIU video.

Rodriguez was also a featured speaker at an emotional Democrat press conference on March 4.

Flanked by Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.), House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) and other Democrat lawmakers, Rodriguez appeared on the verge of tears as he decried the DOGE cuts.

Democrat-Run States Risk Billions To Push Race Discrimination In Schools

As nearly half the states battle the federal government to maintain discriminatory equity and inclusion practices in public institutions, billions of taxpayer dollars are at stake.

Nineteen Democrat-run states have sued the federal government rather than comply with the Trump administration’s enforcement of race and sex antidiscrimination laws for K-12 and higher education institutions. According to the data-tracking website Burbio, the risk of funding loss for schools is enormous.

In 2024, California received more than $2.2 billion in federal Title I funds. New York received nearly $1.5 billion. Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Michigan all received between $5 and $8 hundred million, Burbio found. All are part of the 19-state coalition arguing they should continue receiving these massive amounts while still teaching race and sex discrimination. These massive dollar amounts typically increase in the millions annually.

In a memo to states issued April 3, the Trump administration reiterated states’ legal obligations in exchange for receiving federal financial assistance and certification under Title VI of federal education code and the 2023 Supreme Court decision against racial discrimination Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard. The certification letter stated that “any violation of Title VI- including the use of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (‘DEI’) programs to advantage one’s race over another is impermissible,” and included a late April signature deadline.

Twenty-one states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico announced their intent to sign the letter, but 19 of 22 states that hesitated to sign sued the federal government April 25. Furthering the funding conflict, three federal judges in Maryland, New Hampshire, and Washington D.C. blocked the federal attempts to enforce antidiscrimination measures April 24.

The judges declared schools to be in compliance with civil rights laws that bar race-based discrimination, supporting DEI programs and policies that explicitly promote racial divisions. Attorney generals from the suing states called Trump’s enforcement of the law “onerous” and said threatening $14 billion in taxpayer funds would be “catastrophic” for students.

Hochul to DOJ: Stop Targeting N.Y. Democrats

New York Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul has urged the Department of Justice to “stop targeting Democrats here in New York” amid a flurry of investigations into high-ranking past and present government officials of the Empire State.

During a press conference in Albany on Wednesday, Hochul was asked by a reporter if she thought the slew of investigations into high profile Democrat lawmakers were politically motivated. “Hell, yeah,” Hochul answered.

“The question is when will [U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi] stop politicizing the Department of Justice and just do their jobs?” Hochul asked reporters.

On Tuesday, the Department of Justice opened a criminal investigation into former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo over his responses to Republicans on his handling of the COVID-19 lockdowns.

In March, Cuomo announced his intention to run for mayor of New York City, taking on current Democrat Eric Adams who has fallen out of favor with the liberal establishment over his embrace of some of President Donald Trump’s illegal immigration policies. Adams has since seen his own federal investigation dropped by Bondi’s DOJ.

ActBlue officials decline to testify, Congress threatens subpoenas in foreign donations probe

The chairmen of three powerful House committees on Thursday threatened to issue subpoenas after several current and former top officials of the Democrat online fund-raising platform ActBlue declined to testify in a probe into possible foreign and fraudulent political donations, according to correspondence obtained by Just the News.

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, House Oversight Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., and House Administration Chairman Bryan Steil, R-Wis., revealed in the letters that several of the witnesses initially agreed to voluntary, transcribed interviews, then pulled back through their lawyer earlier this month after President Donald Trump signed an order instructing the Justice Department to probe the platform.

“As we have explained, the Committees are examining allegations that ActBlue, a leading political fundraising organization, allowed bad actors, including foreign actors, to exploit the company’s online platform to make fraudulent political donations,” the chairmen wrote in letters to the witnesses, which were sent to a lawyer representing them, Danny Onorato.

“Fraudulent political donations corrupt American elections could amount to interstate criminal conduct,” the letters also state.

The letters laid out the testimony flip-flops for each of the witnesses, including ActBlue’s former chief revenue officer, Peter Slutsky.

Democrats Don’t Get The Benefit Of The Doubt On Biden’s Health, ‘86,’ Or Anything Else

Joe Biden’s inner circle can’t stress this enough: Before last Friday, the former president had never been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Pinky swear.

A Biden spokesman “clarified” the “timeline” in a statement to multiple news outlets after widespread speculation that Biden’s Sunday cancer announcement wasn’t so much a new diagnosis as a new disclosure.

Even Democrat doctors came out of the woodwork this week to note that prostate cancer and metastasis to the bone don’t just happen overnight, meaning this cancer isn’t “new.” Either Biden and his team of elite health care practitioners are incompetent, or they covered up his diagnosis. So now his PR people are doing a full-court press to convince the suspicious public that Biden’s handlers aren’t lying liars who lie — they’re just really bad at their jobs.

This isn’t the only Democrat pinky swear of the week. Americans also got assurances from former FBI Director James Comey, who recently posted a threatening message to Donald Trump on Instagram in the form of a photograph of seashells spelling out “86 47.” We all know what that means. And considering a would-be assassin already shot Trump in the head and another tried to snipe him on the golf course, Comey’s message could credibly incite violence.

But no, seriously, guys, he had no idea what “86” connoted (even though he investigated the mafia for years). He also definitely just found those shells on the beach and had nothing to do with arranging them. And it’s crazy to think that this is all a cynical ploy to sell more copies of his weird new novel that’s out this week.

Biden doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt for the same reason Comey doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt for the same reason the Democrat Party and their media enablers don’t get the benefit of the doubt. They lie about everything.

This wouldn’t even be their first lie about Biden’s health. CNN propagandist Jake Tapper’s new book this week is yet another reminder that the corporate media and Democrats couldn’t even be trusted to tell the truth about Biden’s decline that we could see with our own eyes — no PSA test or urologist needed. When Americans observed Biden wandering aimlessly away from photo ops, falling down stairs, appearing to doze off in interviews, trailing off mid-sentence, slurring his words, and looking for a deceased congresswoman, Democrats, including fake journalists like Tapper, engaged in a cover-up to prop up Biden and hurt Trump. They said Biden was “sharp” and “focused,” “the best Joe Biden ever,” and that he just had a “bad debate.” When Lara Trump noted the cognitive decline, Tapper accused her of “mocking his stutter.” It was all a lie.

Before denying his “86” stunt, James Comey was a key architect of the lie that Trump colluded with Vladimir Putin to steal the 2016 election, also known as the Russia collusion hoax. Days before Trump’s first inauguration, then-FBI Director Comey briefed Trump on the bogus Steele dossier, a leak of which gave the corrupt media just the hook they needed to peddle the nonsense oppo research. Comey later used this dossier as a pretext to spy on the Trump campaign through Carter Page. Comey also attempted to ensnare Mike Flynn, Trump’s national security adviser, in a perjury trap through an ambush interview to sabotage the Republican administration. As my colleague Matt Kittle so eloquently put it, “Comey tried to ‘86′ Trump’s first term.” It was all a hoax.

Democrats Now Planning to Spend Millions of Dollars Trying to Find ‘Their Own Joe Rogan’

Democrats are increasingly convinced that one of the reasons they lost the 2024 election is because they didn’t have their own Joe Rogan. It never seems to dawn on them that they used to have their own Joe Rogan. His name is Joe Rogan. Rogan has always been a man of the center-left, but he walked away in this cycle because the left basically drove him away.

This is a common theme with Democrats. Years ago, they decided they needed their own Rush Limbaugh, which resulted in the failed Air America network. After losing the 2004 election, they decided they needed their own Drudge Report, which resulted in the creation of the Huffington Post. After they lost Congress in 2010, they decided they needed their own Tea Party, which brought us Occupy Wall Street.

Also, for all of their talk about wanting to get ‘big money’ out of politics, they’re certainly sparing no expense on this plan.

The New York Times reported:

Democrats Throw Money at a Problem: Countering G.O.P. Clout Online

Six months after the Democratic Party’s crushing 2024 defeat, the party’s megadonors are being inundated with overtures to spend tens of millions of dollars to develop an army of left-leaning online influencers.

At donor retreats and in pitch documents seen by The New York Times, liberal strategists are pushing the party’s rich backers to reopen their wallets for a cavalcade of projects to help Democrats, as the cliché now goes, “find the next Joe Rogan.” The proposals, the scope of which has not been previously reported, are meant to energize glum donors and persuade them that they can compete culturally with President Trump — if only they can throw enough money at the problem.

Democrats widely believe they must grow more creative in stoking online enthusiasm for their candidates, particularly in less outwardly political forms of media like sports or lifestyle podcasts…

“It needs to start with a legitimate investment,” said Marissa McBride, a Democratic strategist who leads a donor group called Mind the Gap. But she added, “There has to be something that is happening organically as well.”

The most hilarious part? The name for this initiative is ‘AND Media’ which stands for “Achieve Narrative Dominance.”
