Court rules Ontario violated Charter by censoring Covid criticism on billboard

The Ontario government tried to silence a citizen for criticizing its Covid-19 response. Now a court has ruled it broke the Constitution.

The Ontario Divisional Court has found the Ontario Ministry of Transportation violated the Charter rights of George Katerberg by preventing him from displaying a political billboard criticizing public officials over their handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Katerberg was represented by the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF), whose constitutional lawyer Chris Fleury successfully argued that the Ministry’s actions violated section 2(b) of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which protects freedom of expression.

Katerberg’s billboard, erected along Highway 17 near Thessalon, featured photographs of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Premier Doug Ford, former Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam and other officials above the messages, “They knowingly lied about safety and stopping transmission” and “Canadians demand accountability.”

The Ministry first demanded the sign be removed after claiming one image on the billboard was linked to white supremacy. Katerberg immediately removed the disputed image, explaining it was inspired by Pink Floyd’s The Wall, and submitted a revised version. The Ministry then shifted its reasoning, claiming the billboard promoted hatred.

When that justification failed, the government changed the rules instead.

After Katerberg launched his Charter challenge, the Ministry amended its Highway Corridor Management Manual in 2025 to broadly prohibit political messaging on billboards along certain northern Ontario highways. It then relied on that newly created policy to reject the sign once again.

The Divisional Court wasn’t persuaded.

Justice Schreck found there was “no rational connection” between prohibiting political speech while allowing commercial advertising on the very same highways. The Court declared the Ministry’s policy unconstitutional, quashed its decision, and ordered the application to be reconsidered.

The Court also criticized the Ministry’s “shifting justifications” throughout the dispute, making clear the case was never about whether Katerberg’s views on Covid-19 were right or wrong. It was about whether the government could censor political speech because it disliked the message.

Following the ruling, JCCF lawyer Chris Fleury called the decision “a welcome affirmation of the importance of political expression,” saying governments cannot ban political speech while allowing businesses to advertise beside the same roads.

California Is Actively Recruiting Noncitizen Teenagers to Serve as Poll Workers in Elections

California has once again ignited concerns over election integrity after revelations that the state is recruiting noncitizen teenagers to work inside polling places during elections.

Natalie Winters first reported this outrageous development out of the Golden State.

Green card holders as young as 16, noncitizens who cannot legally vote in American elections, are being recruited to check voters off official rosters, distribute ballots, handle election equipment, assist voters, and help close polling locations.

The state admits it does not fully track how many of these noncitizen teenagers are being used in these sensitive positions of trust.

This is not a hypothetical. This is happening right now in Democrat-run California.

Documents reviewed by this publication reveal that California officials are directing public schools to identify teenagers as young as 16 to work inside polling locations during the November 2026 election, including lawful permanent residents who are not United States citizens.

These students are not being enlisted to hand out stickers or direct voters toward the entrance. County election agencies say they may issue ballots, check voters off official rosters, help operate election equipment, assist voters throughout the day, prepare ballots for pickup, and participate in closing polling locations.

In other words, California has made citizenship optional for the people performing frontline election duties.

The recruitment campaign appears in a June 30 letter signed by California Secretary of State Shirley Weber and State Superintendent Tony Thurmond and distributed to county superintendents, charter school administrators, and high school principals across the state.

The officials ask schools to provide their campuses as voting locations and encourage students to become poll workers for the November 3 general election.

“High school students who are at least 16 years of age, are U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents, and maintain a 2.5 grade point average are eligible to serve as poll workers,” the letter states.

Crazed Democrat Al Green Defends Illegal Alien who Tried to Ram ICE Agents, Says Americans Have an “Obligation” to Give Illegals Protection Under the Constitution

Civil rights groups and Democratic officials held a press conference on Friday on behalf of an illegal alien who was killed while attacking ICE agents, and Rep. Al Green (D-TX) claimed Americans have a “duty” to ensure illegals are protected by the Constitution. 

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, an illegal alien from Mexico who tried to run over ICE agents during a traffic stop, was fatally shot after ramming an ICE vehicle.

After attempting to flee, refusing to follow multiple verbal commands, and attempting to run over an ICE agent, Araujo was shot and taken to a hospital, where he later died. Of course, the Democrats and leftist media are now losing their minds trying to defend an illegal alien who attacked ICE.

Lunatic Al Green went out claiming that the illegal alien “belongs to the Constitution” and “should not receive any less attention from the Constitution that I or any of you would receive.”

“Mr. Arajo belongs to us. He belongs to the Constitution of the United States of America,” Green said during brief remarks at the press conference.

“That Constitution applies to him, just as it applies to me. He should not receive any less attention from the Constitution that I or any of you would receive. He belongs to us. He’s in our jurisdiction.”

REPORT: 3 California School Districts Suspected of Shielding Teachers From Sexual Abuse Allegations as Feds Launch Nationwide Probe

Two California school districts, suspected of protecting sexual predators and allowing them to teach, received letters from the Trump Department of Education on Friday in a national crackdown on schools sweeping sexual abuse allegations under the rug. 

The letters were sent to the Tulare City Unified School District and Wilsona School District.

The New York Post reports that Education Secretary Linda McMahon sent letters to school districts across the country, reminding them that federal law requires them to investigate allegations and prevent teachers accused of abuse from quietly moving to another school.

The Los Angeles Unified School District was already under scrutiny for reassigning teachers to different schools under an agreement with the teachers’ union.

This comes as the Education Department plans to launch a new initiative with 20 civil rights investigations into school districts that failed in their duty to address sexual misconduct by school employees, according to the Post.

California is believed to be one of the biggest offenders, with at least three school districts at risk of losing $50 million in federal funding.

Per the New York Post:

Tulare City Unified School District and Wilsona School District, located in Palmdale, were two of the districts warned under federal law to promptly investigate allegations of sexual abuse and harassment and block suspected predators from quietly moving to other schools — a practice known as “passing the trash.”

“Our schools must protect America’s children. Parents should never have to wonder whether their kids’ school employs and protects sexual predators,” Secretary of Education Linda McMahon said.

“Schools that receive federal funding have a duty to protect students, report sexual misconduct honestly, and follow the law.”

Los Angeles Unified School District has already been investigated over rules that allegedly shielded predatory teachers. An agreement between the school district and the teachers’ union guaranteed teachers accused of certain serious misconduct are reassigned — rather than immediately terminated or removed from student-facing positions — while investigations are pending.

Investigations are also targeting three school districts in Georgia and three in Michigan, as well as districts across 12 other states.

A crowd of approximately 200 civilians surrounded and overturned a Ukrainian Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) vehicle in Lviv’s Sykhiv district on the evening of July 8, triggering two criminal investigations and an unusual internal review by the military into the conduct of its own recruitment officers.

Reports one of the bounty hunters pointed at a man and yelled, “Get that one, he’s worth $2,000!” This is reportedly what set off the crowd.

The EU just gave Ukraine EUR 90B and it seems some of these funds are paying for bounty hunters to seize men off the streets across Ukriane; the price used to be $200 per head.

Ukraine’s prosecution service announced on July 9 that it had opened proceedings against participants in the clash, charging them with obstructing the activities of the Armed Forces during martial law and with violence against a law enforcement officer. Prosecutors said a responding police officer was attacked by members of the crowd.

According to authorities, TRC officers had detained a man born in 1996 who was wanted for violating military registration requirements. Video footage circulating on social media showed protesters chanting “shame,” tearing off the vehicle’s front bumper, and eventually flipping the vehicle.

Report: Indian Businessman Poses as CIA Agent to Land Billion-Dollar ‘Defense’ Deal with Indonesia

An Indian businessman named Gaurav Srivastava allegedly passed himself off as an operative of the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to close a multi-billion dollar defense deal with the Indonesian government, according to civil suits filed in the United States by his former business partner.

A report from a U.S.-based non-governmental organization (NGO) called the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) quoted the lawsuits filed in New York and California by Srivastava’s former business partner, Niels Troost.

According to the lawsuits, Srivastava somehow persuaded then-Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, currently the president of the country, that he was a CIA agent when the two attended high-level military procurement meetings in Washington and Jakarta in 2020.

By the end of that year, the faux CIA agent had alleged secured three “letters of intention to purchase” jet fighters and other defense items from the Indonesian government. He scored two more defense procurement commitments in 2021 and 2022. Products mentioned in the deals included big-ticket items like F-15 jet fighters, UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, and C-130 transport aircraft.

Troost said Srivastava grew quite close to Subianto, becoming a frequent guest at his home and developing ties with his brother, a prominent Indonesian businessman. Subianto went on to become the president of Indonesia in October 2024.

The Indonesian Defense Ministry told Tempo, the OCCRP’s Indonesian partner, that all of the agreements secured by Srivastava were “preliminary,” none were binding contracts, and none led to a purchase by the Indonesian government.

“The entire process of Indonesian defense cooperation and procurement is always carried out with utmost caution, prioritizing the principles of good governance, national interest, and compliance with applicable mechanisms and regulations,” a defense ministry spokesperson insisted.

However, OCCRP noted that Subianto was photographed with Srivastava at signing ceremonies, Srivastava held press conferences to announce purchase agreements, and the U.S. government even issued formal approval for the sale of 36 F-15s in 2022 – the exact number of fighter jets mentioned in the agreements with Srivastava.

According to Troost, the reason he brought all of this up in a pair of U.S. lawsuits is that he was convinced Srivastava was a CIA agent. On that basis, he gave Srivastava a 50 percent share of his own company, believing the CIA man could help him win lucrative contracts with customers like Indonesia.

Srivastava allegedly proceeded to loot $51 million from Troost’s company and “loan” it to the Arsari Group, a company headed by Subianto’s brother. Srivastava then convinced the Arsari Group to give the loan money to him. He was able to wheedle the Indonesian company into giving him half, and proceeded to blow the money on a $25 million mansion in Los Angeles.

Srivastara allegedly presented himself as a mogul who controlled four firms of his own, but all four turned out to be shell companies that were eventually deregistered for not paying their taxes. None of those companies were named in the U.S. government approval for the F-15 sales to Indonesia. Boeing, which was involved in the process, gave up trying to sell F-15s to Indonesia four years later because Jakarta never finalized the deal. Subianto’s government is now shopping for Turkish-built KAAN jet fighters.

Indonesian authorities say they are investigating these transactions for possible corruption charges. Meanwhile, Troost went after Srivastava in New York and California on racketeering charges. In one of these filings, Troost referred to Srivastava as a “brazen con man of remarkable skill.”

Niels Troost is himself an interesting character, a Dutch commodities trader based out of Switzerland who was sanctioned by the European Union, and several individual European governments, for allegedly buying banned Russian oil after the invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

The EU and Switzerland lifted their sanctions against Troost this year. Troost has claimed the sanctions were partly a result of his massive international business feud with Srivastava and has said he would not buy Russian oil because he supports Ukraine.

Srivastava, in turn, denies all wrongdoing and claims Troost’s allegations against him are part of an “aggressive scorched-earth disinformation campaign.”

Syria Arrests ‘ISIS-Linked’ Suspects in Damascus Bombings

Syrian officials said on Thursday that a preliminary investigation of the July 7 bombings in the capital city of Damascus — perpetrated during a visit by French President Emmanuel Macron — suggests that a terrorist cell linked to the Islamic State was responsible.

Police have taken an unspecified number of suspects belonging to the cell into custody.

Two explosions shook Damascus on Tuesday, just before Syria’s interim president Ahmed al-Sharaa met with Macron. One of the bombs was detonated near the Ministry of Tourism. The other was near the Four Seasons Hotel, where Macron was believed to be staying.

The Syrian Interior Ministry said on Tuesday that the bomb near the hotel was “outside the security zone designated for the French president’s residence,” and posed no “direct threat” to Macron or his entourage, especially since he had already departed for his meeting with Sharaa.

The bombs, described as “primitive” by police, detonated as explosives experts were attempting to disarm them. One person was killed and 36 injured by the bombings, most of them members of the security forces.

Brig. Gen. Ahmad al-Dalati, commander of Syria’s national police force, said on Thursday its investigation pointed to an ISIS-linked cell as the culprits.

Dalati said one member of the cell was positively identified by security camera footage, and that individual was “monitored” to learn the identities of the other members.

Interior Minister Annas Khattab announced on Thursday that several members of the cell had been arrested in raids across rural Damascus.

“The cell responsible for the terrorist bombings that targeted Damascus two days ago is now in our custody,” he said.

Khattab promised that more details about the suspects and their terrorist cell would be revealed after the investigation was complete.

The Interior Ministry statement said that raids were conducted in four neighborhoods “across Damascus and its countryside,” including two that are heavily populated with Alawites, the Shiite Muslim minority that claimed deposed dictator Bashar Assad as a member.

The Alawites are now resented by some other groups in Syria because they were privileged and favored by the dictatorship, and some accuse the Alawite community of harboring Assad loyalists and terrorists like ISIS.

Appeals Court Blocks Release of Audiotapes of Biden’s Conversations with Ghostwriter

A federal appeals court on Friday temporarily blocked the DOJ from releasing 70 hours of Joe Biden’s conversations with his ghostwriter, Mark Zwonitzer.

Last month, a federal judge cleared the way for the Justice Department to release recordings of Biden’s conversations with his ghostwriter to the Oversight Project.

US District Judge Dabney Friedrich, a Trump appointee, said the redactions were sufficient.

Biden’s lawyers immediately requested an injunction pending appeal.

Last month Judge Friedrich stayed her own order pending appeal and gave the DC Circuit Court of Appeals three weeks to make a decision on whether the DOJ can release Biden’s audiotapes.

On Friday, the DC Circuit Court of Appeals blocked the release of the audiotapes to the Oversight Project for 10 days.

A federal appeals court temporarily blocked the Justice Department from turning over to a conservative think tank redacted transcripts and audio recordings of conversations former President Joe Biden had with his biographer roughly a decade ago.

A panel of three judges on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit agreed to issue an administrative injunction that stops the release of the material to the Heritage Foundation for 10 days.

The court said in a brief unsigned order that the purpose of its injunction, which expires at 11:59 p.m. on July 20, is to “give the court sufficient opportunity to consider the emergency motion for an injunction pending appeal and should not be construed in any way as a ruling on the merits of that motion.”

The recordings at issue in the legal fight date back to 2016 and 2017, when Biden sat down with his biographer, Mark Zwonitzer, for his memoir, “Promise Me, Dad.” But they gained interest from the Heritage Foundation several years later following an investigation by former special counsel Robert Hur into Biden’s handling of sensitive government records after his vice presidency, which ended in 2017. The former president was not charged with any crimes stemming from Hur’s investigation.

Robert Hur in February 2024 released a 345-page report on his investigation of the stolen classified documents.

Robert Hur found that Joe Biden “willfully retained” classified information, however, he decided not to charge him. Hur said there is evidence Biden retained classified notebooks, “knowing he was not allowed to do so.”

Brazilian Model Dies After Plunging 27 Floors in Dubai, Her Mysterious Death Similar to Another There in 2025

A voluptuous Brazilian model and social media influencer has died after falling from the 27th floor of a Dubai skyscraper.

The cause of the fall remains a mystery, and the death of 27-year-old Kauana Bilhar is now the subject of a police investigation, the Daily Mail reported.

Bilhar had amassed an impressive online following with her modeling and travel content.

According to the British tabloid, authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death and have not ruled out the possibility of an accident, suicide, homicide, or “femicide,” a murder classification based on gender.

Her mother, Darla Bilhar, confirmed her death this week.

‘”There are no words capable of expressing the magnitude of the longing you left behind,” the mother said. “Today you are no longer by my side as I dreamed, but you will live forever within me.”

The mother is reportedly now in Dubai to follow the investigation and arrange for her daughter’s body to be returned to Brazil.

The model had accumulated nearly 22,000 followers on Instagram.

“In one of her final social media posts, Kauana celebrated her engagement to partner Barbara Abrantes,” the Mail reported, adding that she posted that on June 25, which is believed to be her last on social media.

The exact date of the Brazilian model’s death has not been made available.

Kauana’s case is not the first mysterious female death as the result of falling from a building in the ostentatious city within the United Arab Emirates.

A Ukrainian model went missing after a party in March 2025 and was found with severe injuries dumped by the side of a Dubai road, according to news outlets.

Maria Kovalchuk, who was 20, had been reported “missing for eight days after telling friends she had been invited to a party at a hotel.”
