Florida serial killer praises Trump in final words before execution

A suspected serial killer once scrutinized for a possible link to the O.J. Simpson case that riveted the nation in the 1990s was executed Thursday in Florida for the murder of a woman found dead in a Tampa motel room.

Glen Rogers, 62, received a lethal injection at Florida State Prison near Starke and was pronounced dead at 6:16 p.m., authorities said. He was convicted in Florida of the 1995 murder of Tina Marie Cribbs, a 34-year-old mother of two he had met at a bar.

He also had drawn a separate death sentence in California for the 1995 strangulation killing of Sandra Gallagher, a mother of three whom he had met at a bar in Van Nuys in that state. That killing came weeks before the Cribbs murder. Rogers was stopped after a highway chase in Kentucky while driving Cribbs’ car soon after her death.

In a final statement, Rogers thanked his wife, who visited him earlier in the day at the prison, according to visitor logs. He also somewhat cryptically said that “in the near future, your questions will be answered” without going into detail. He also said, “President Trump, keep making America great. I’m ready to go.” Then the lethal injection began, and he lay quietly through the procedure.

The entire execution took just 16 minutes. Once it began, Rogers hardly moved, only lying still with his mouth slightly open. At one point, a staff member grasped him by the shoulders, shook him and yelled, “Rogers, Rogers” to see if he was conscious. No family members of the Florida victim spoke to the press afterwards.

Rogers was named as a suspect but never convicted in several other slayings around the country, once telling police he had killed about 70 people. He later recanted that statement, but had been the subject of documentaries, including one from 2012 called “My Brother the Serial Killer” that featured his brother Clay and a criminal profiler who had corresponded extensively with Rogers.

The documentary raised questions about whether Rogers could have been responsible for the 1994 stabbing deaths of Simpson’s ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.

MIT is transforming plants into bright, eco-friendly city lights

Turning ordinary houseplants into sustainable, glowing lamps may soon become a reality, thanks to groundbreaking research by scientists at MIT. By embedding specialized nanoparticles into plant leaves, researchers have successfully transformed common plants into rechargeable, plant-based lights, significantly advancing the field of sustainable lighting technology.

A Bright Idea: Plants as Sustainable Lights

Every day, millions of electronic devices, built from plastic and circuit boards, become waste. Scientists have searched for innovative ways to create sustainable alternatives. Recently, researchers have turned to living plants for solutions. Unlike traditional plastic-based devices, plants naturally break down, avoiding long-term environmental harm.

Michael Strano, a chemical engineering professor at MIT, leads a team aiming to make plants function as light-emitting devices. “We wanted to create a light-emitting plant with particles that will absorb light, store some of it, and emit it gradually,” says Strano. This innovative concept could revolutionize how spaces are illuminated, moving away from traditional electrical systems.

How It Works: The Science of Plant Glow

The secret lies within a plant’s leaf structure. Leaves have specialized layers filled with tiny pores called stomata, which control the flow of air and water. Just beneath the leaf surface is a spongy mesophyll layer, rich with space to store nanoparticles.

MIT scientists infused leaves with microscopic particles of strontium aluminate, a phosphorescent compound often used in glow-in-the-dark paints. These nanoparticles, only about 650 nanometers wide, were coated in silica to protect the plants from damage. Infused through stomata pores, these particles settle evenly across the mesophyll layer, forming a thin film.

When illuminated briefly—just ten seconds—with blue LED lights, these nanoparticles absorb and store energy. Once charged, the plants emit a soft, visible glow lasting for nearly an hour. After the first few vibrant minutes, the glow gently fades but can be quickly recharged repeatedly over weeks, offering a sustainable lighting alternative.

Unmasking The Real Threat To America’s Democracy

America isn’t a democracy but a constitutional republic designed to limit majority rule and protect individual rights. This distortion enables narratives that label dissent as dangerous, especially in portraying Trump as a “threat to democracy” — a claim pushed by institutions caught spreading falsehoods about him. What appears as consensus is actually assigned opinion enforced by media and political power, as “conspiracy theories” used to silence dissent are proving to be true.

What follows is not just a list of lies — it’s a pattern of systemic deception that reveals where the real threat lies.

The Concealment of President Biden’s Cognitive Decline: A Betrayal of Voters

For years, concerns about Joe Biden’s mental acuity were dismissed as partisan attacks or “conspiracy theories.” The White House physician declared him fit for office. Staffers claimed he “ran circles around them.” Meanwhile, public appearances were tightly controlled, questions were pre-approved, and scripted answers were passed off as spontaneous.

But in 2024, the dam broke. Biden’s debate performance made his decline undeniable. Millions had already cast primary ballots for a man clearly unfit to serve — yet instead of outrage over the scale of the deception, voters watched passively as Kamala Harris stepped in as the de facto candidate.

It was an unconstitutional transfer of candidacy that the media refused to acknowledge. This wasn’t spin — it was a deliberate, coordinated effort to deceive the American public about who was actually running the country.

All while, the same media complex screamed that Trump was the dictator.

If truth and transparency are foundational to democracy, then this widespread concealment — and the resulting erosion of informed consent — should outrage every American who values honest governance.

COVID-19: From “Conspiracy” to Consensus

When Trump suggested the virus originated in a lab, the idea was branded “xenophobic” and “debunked.” Today, both the CIA and FBI assess a lab leak as probable. This pattern repeated across masks, school closures, natural immunity, and vaccine efficacy.

The CDC quietly redefined “vaccine” to accommodate products that didn’t stop transmission, contradicting officials’ earlier claims. Education leaders denied coordinating with teachers unions on prolonged school closures despite evidence proving otherwise, devastating children’s mental health and education.

Sinaloa Cartel leader with $1M bounty, who was previously aligned with El Chapo’s son, killed in gunfight with Mexican authorities

A Sinaloa Cartel gang member aligned with El Chapo’s son in a gangland civil war was killed in a gunfight with Mexican authorities attempting to take him into custody, according to a government officials.

Jorge Humberto “El Perris” Figueroa, a member of “El Chapitos” faction which is aligned with the ex-Mexican kingpin’s incarcerated son Ovidio Guzman, opened fire on Mexican military members Friday as they attempted to arrest him, according to the Mexican government.

The United States had placed a $1 million reward for any information that would lead to the arrest of “El Perris” on charges of conspiracy to import and distribute fentanyl to the United States.

“As part of the strategy to build peace in Sinaloa, an operation was carried out to arrest Jorge Humberto, alias “El Perris,” Mexico’s secretary of state Omar Garcia Harfuch wrote on X.

“This person is identified as one of the main orchestrators of the attacks on authorities in 2019 in Culiacan, in addition to being related to homicides and kidnappings that affected the peace and tranquility of Sinaloa society,” Harfuch concluded.

Ours Is A System Of Fraud, Swindles, And Corruption

But all bubbles pop, and there are no tricks left to fund both the greed of the few and the needs of the many.

Every society / economy is a distribution mechanism that distributes:

1. Gains

2. Losses

3. Risk

4. The costs of securing the sources of gains.

As a general rule, markets / economies don’t really care who ends up with the losses, and this is why markets / economies are fundamentally pathological structures: the single-minded focus is to maximize gains and minimize costs and losses by distributing them to others by any means available.

As a general rule, societies have to manage the distribution in a slightly less pathological manner to keep the status quo from being overthrown by those forced to bear the costs and losses. As Mao famously observed, “political power grows out of the barrel of a gun,” and so the sociopaths sluicing the gains into their own pockets and dumping the costs and losses on the economically / politically powerless without regard for social stability find the way of the Tao is reversal as those getting the crumbs eventually have nothing left to lose.

In other words, markets / economies are embedded in a social structure, not the other way round. And the social structure has to balance the distribution fairly enough to keep the majority from concluding they have nothing left to lose by throwing their lot into overthrowing the status quo.

We can gussy this structure up with a lot of theorizing and references to Plato, Marx and Machiavelli and hundreds of other players in the longstanding drama, but these are the fundamental forces in play: do the sociopaths have enough political and financial power to channel most of the gains to themselves and dump the costs and losses on others, or is the system capable of enforcing some limits on the sociopaths?

I submit that the United States is in the firm grip of the single-minded few focused solely on maximizing their gains and distributing costs and losses to others by any means available. The social and political restraints that placed modest limits on the aggregation of power and wealth into the hands of the few have crumbled, and this structural collapse has been hidden behind flimsy billboards hyping the latest in distractions: AI, tariffs, stablecoins, Rich Mom fashions, etc.

Israeli settlers set fire to Palestinian homes in northern West Bank

Israeli settlers set fire to several Palestinian homes on Thursday evening after storming the outskirts of Bruqin town, west of Salfit province in the northern occupied West Bank.

According to WAFA, the official Palestinian news agency, a group of settlers attacked the area, setting fire to a number of homes. The fires caused extensive damage and led to large-scale blazes across parts of the town. Footage circulating on social media showed flames spreading in several locations in Bruqin.

The arson attack took place just hours after Israeli forces re-entered the town on Thursday evening, following a brief withdrawal earlier in the day. WAFA reported that the army returned in large numbers with military vehicles, blocked several internal roads, and raided multiple houses, launching thorough searches.

Earlier on Thursday, Israeli troops had withdrawn from Bruqin and the nearby town of Kafr ad-Dik after a nine-day military operation. The campaign included the killing of a Palestinian man, widespread arrests, and the conversion of several homes into military outposts, under the pretext of searching for the person behind a shooting incident that killed an Israeli woman and injured her husband.

Twin Babies Die a Week After Receiving 3 Vaccines, Police Interrogate Parents

When Andrea Shaw brought her 18-month-old twins in for their wellness visit on April 23, she told the pediatrician she had concerns about the twins receiving the flu shot because her husband’s family had a history of adverse reactions to the vaccine.

The pediatrician told her the babies would be OK and had nurses give the twins the shot. The twins also received the Hepatitis A vaccine and the DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis) vaccine.

Roughly one week later, on May 1, Andrea found the babies — a girl named Dallas and a boy named Tyson — dead in their bed after apparently passing away in their sleep. Her husband, Nathaniel, the twins’ father, was at work at the time.

Police in Payette, Idaho, where the twins lived with their parents, launched a homicide investigation, which they said was standard procedure when a death from an unknown cause occurs.

On May 7, the local police chief told the media the deaths hadn’t been “definitively” ruled as homicides, and that the autopsy reports would provide more information. The investigation is still ongoing.

A spokesperson for the parents today said the lead detective is still waiting on toxicology reports and has not yet ruled out the parents as suspects. The parents, who are “beyond devastated,” the spokesperson said, have filed a report with the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, or VAERS.

In an interview with Children’s Health Defense’s (CHD) Polly Tommey, Andrea and Nathaniel walked through the timeline of what happened in the days leading up to their children’s tragic deaths.

Before starting the interview, Tommey, CHD.TV program director, told viewers she was speaking with the twins’ parents only three days after the children passed.

“This is really, really raw,” Tommey said. “This has just happened.”

Huawei Hires Jeffrey Epstein’s ‘Dark Arts’ Spin Doctor To Beat Off Trump Ban

Chinese telecom giant Huawei Technologies has hired the former public relations firm of sex predators Jeffrey Epstein and Harvey Weinstein as it fights against Trump administration efforts to ban the use of its computer chips over espionage and national security concerns.

Sitrick Group, owned by veteran publicist Michael S. Sitrick, registered this month as a foreign agent of Huawei and its American subsidiary FutureWei, according to documents filed with the Department of Justice. Sitrick, who calls himself one of the “most accomplished practitioners of the dark arts of public relations,” will provide “strategic counsel, media relations, analyst relations, data insights, content strategy, and public communications” for Huawei at a rate of $75,000 per month, according to a contract disclosed to the Department of Justice.

It could signal that Huawei—and its overseers in the Chinese Communist Party—are taking a new approach to fighting U.S. government sanctions against the company. American officials have warned for years that the CCP uses Huawei to conduct espionage and surveil critics of China’s government. The Trump administration issued a warning to tech companies last week that using Huawei chips would “violate U.S. export controls” issued against the Chinese firm. The Chinese government shot back that it will take “resolute measures” against the United States for blacklisting its chips.

Sitrick, whose memoir is entitled The Fixer, has represented thousands of clients, including companies like PepsiCo and McDonald’s and actresses Halle Berry and Kim Basinger. He’s also represented some controversial names in his nearly 40 years in the PR business.

Weinstein hired Sitrick’s firm in 2017 after the Hollywood mogul had been accused of sexual offenses. Dozens of women later accused Weinstein of sexual assault. Sitrick executive Sallie Hofmeister, a former reporter for the Los Angeles Times, served as Weinstein’s primary publicist and issued statements on behalf of Weinstein that “any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied.” Weinstein is serving life in prison following several rape convictions. Sitrick Group resigned from representing Weinstein in April 2018. Hofmeister is listed as a Sitrick Group representative on the Huawei account, according to documents filed with the Department of Justice.

Utah House Speaker demands state judge resign for giving no prison time to man convicted of child exploitation

After spending just four months in jail, a judge said that a 22-year-old man in Utah will not be given any more time behind bars after he was convicted of exploiting children, with Utah House Speaker Mike Schultz calling on him to resign.

Aidan Hoffman, 22, attended a sentencing hearing overseen by Judge Don Torgerson on Tuesday in Utah, where he pleaded guilty on two felony counts of sexually exploiting a minor, according to KSLTV. Court documents in the case said that Hoffman had distributed as well as had in his possession images of children getting raped and sexually abused.

Hoffman was charged last August on multiple felony counts of exploiting a minor and spent four months in prison, being allowed out in December on certain conditions. However, during the sentencing this week, Torgerson dropped 10 of the other felony charges, only going through with two of them. Instead of giving Hoffman time behind bars, Torgerson decided that he would not go to prison or pay any fine.

Torgerson handed the 22-year-old a suspended prison sentence and said he would be placed on probation for four years, meaning that he would only go to prison if he violated the probation. During the hearing, Torgerson referred to the time that Hoffman spent in jail, saying, “112 days is a lot of jail time. It’s a lot of jail time for someone your age who comes from some level of privilege.”

When speaking to The Post Millennial, House Speaker Mike Schultz, a Republican from Utah’s 12th House district, said he would not rule out impeachment over the matter, and demanded that the judge resign.

“This is deeply troubling and indicative of a broader pattern within the judiciary. Such decisions not only fail to deliver justice for victims but also erode public confidence in the legal system,” he told TPM. “Judge Torgerson’s decision is a failure of justice, and it cannot be ignored. To restore public trust and uphold the integrity of the judiciary, he must resign. Accountability is not optional—it is essential when the stakes involve the safety and dignity of children.”

Torgerson viewed a couple of the videos that were in possession of Hoffman and told those in the hearing he had “seen worse.”

The Grand County Attorney, Stephen Stocks, said that he was shocked by the decision of the judge, as well as Torgerson’s mention of “privilege” in the decision and the comments about the videos.

Moderna Pulls Application for FDA Approval of Flu-COVID Shot After FDA Calls for New Clinical Trials

Moderna is withdrawing its application for U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval of its mRNA-1083 combination flu and COVID-19 vaccine, the company announced today — just one day after the FDA said it would require new clinical trials to approve COVID-19 boosters for healthy people under 65.

According to Fierce Biotech, the company will resubmit its application when data from a Phase 3 trial of its mRNA-1010 flu vaccine, which is a component of the combined shot, are available later this year. The company expects to have interim data from the trial available this summer.

Markets reacted negatively to the news, with Moderna’s shares falling 1.4% in premarket trading on Wednesday, The Guardian reported.

According to Reuters, Moderna’s decision to withdraw its application at this time “is the latest sign of increased regulatory scrutiny of the vaccine approval process since Robert F. Kennedy Jr. took the top U.S. health job earlier this year.”

Last week, for instance, the FDA approved Novavax’s new COVID-19 vaccine, but limited its approval to groups that are considered high-risk.

Sayer Ji, co-founder of Stand for Health Freedom and founder and director of GreenMedInfo, said Moderna’s decision to withdraw its application is “telling” and “appears to reflect not only concerns over efficacy but also a growing public skepticism toward hastily developed, multi-antigen formulations that lack sufficient long-term safety data.”

Ji said:

“The withdrawal may be a preemptive move to avoid public scrutiny or regulatory resistance tied to unresolved questions in their clinical data. Combination shots, especially those involving mRNA platforms, introduce compounded risks due to the simultaneous delivery of multiple immunogenic agents.

“These risks are poorly understood and grossly under-evaluated, particularly in vulnerable populations. The immunological complexity of such a vaccine also raises questions about long-term impacts on immune regulation, potential autoimmunity and unintended synergistic effects that could compromise health rather than protect it.”
