Indian Illegal Involved in Triple Fatality Crash Had REAL ID CDL; Needed Interpreter in Hearing

The Indian illegal-alien charged in the vehicular homicide of three motorists in California not only had a commercial driver’s license despite not speaking fluent English, but also had a REAL ID, which is not available to illegals.

Jashanpreet Singh, the beturbaned Third World Biden “migrant” who is charged with manslaughter while driving intoxicated, had both. He needed an interpreter in his first court hearing.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said that California ignored his order to enforce federal regulations regarding CDLs. On Friday, the department detailed the state’s refusal to keep Singh off the road in defiance of those regulations.

California Admits Error

Answering Fox News reporter Bill Melugin’s inquiry, the state admitted that it gave the REAL ID CDL to Singh because the federal government authorized it.

The state transportation agency claims that Singh received federal employment authorization that is valid until August 30, 2030.

“The DMV confirmed Mr. Jashanpreet Singh’s documents using the federal SAVE system,” the agency told Melugin. As well, “Singh’s commercial driver’s license is a federal REAL ID which he was entitled to receive given the federal government’s confirmation of his legal status,” the state continued. Thus, “California followed all federal and state laws in reviewing and granting him a California commercial driver’s license.”

SAVE is an online system that verifies “immigration status and U.S. citizenship of applicants seeking benefits or licenses,” its website says. However, SAVE “does not determine an applicant’s eligibility for a specific benefit or license.”

Continuing his X report, Melugin said he “asked them to clarify what they mean by the Feds’ confirmation of his legal status, as he is still in the U.S. illegally even if granted federal work authorization while his asylum case plays out.”

The answer appears to have been a canned reply, or something created by artificial intelligence that scraped the internet for state law.

Trump’s ‘Golden Dome’ Missile Defense Could Cost $3.6 Trillion: Report

President Ronald Reagan’s Strategic Defense Initiative, nicknamed Star Wars, promised to create a missile defense system so effective it would eliminate the threat of nuclear war forever, at a cost of around $70 billion. As it turned out, the technology just wasn’t feasible. And the Soviet Union figured out how to overwhelm the missile defense system at five percent of its cost. Reagan’s successor, George H.W. Bush, scaled Star Wars down to a much more modest program called Global Protection Against Limited Strikes, emphasis on limited.

Now President Donald Trump is promising that, with today’s technology, he can create an impenetrable missile shield for $175 billion. But the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimated in May 2025 that the program could actually cost up to $542 billion over two decades. And according to independent analysis, the CBO may actually be underestimating the cost sixfold. Todd Harrison, a senior fellow at the conservative American Enterprise Institute, has calculated a $3.6 trillion price over two decades. Harrison and other experts spoke to The Washington Post for a bombshell report published on Wednesday.

The Golden Dome is designed as a “multi-layered” system. One layer would be ground-based missile batteries. Another would be a constellation of satellites orbiting the Earth, ready to shoot down incoming missiles from above. That latter part was also part of the Star Wars program. Proponents say that lower launch costs today—thanks, Elon Musk—make it more feasible today, according to The Washington Post. Harrison, however, estimates that it would take 950 satellites per enemy missile. The American Physical Society puts the number at 400 interceptors for a lower-end North Korean missile and 1,600 for a higher-end North Korean missile.

North Korea is estimated to have 50 nuclear weapons. And that’s the lower end of the threats that the Golden Dome is supposed to counter. China has hundreds of nuclear weapons, and Russia has thousands. “You need so many more interceptors than missiles, it becomes operationally impractical,” Harrison told the Post.

The Golden Dome program could also scale up ground-based missile defenses. The U.S. military maintains 44 interceptors at a base in Fort Greely, Alaska, designed to launch an “exoatmospheric kill vehicle” that would intercept an incoming ballistic missile in space. But even tests conducted “under scripted conditions and designed for success” show a 55 percent success rate for those interceptors, the American Physical Society reports. The Pentagon has been quite sensitive about that fact. After the recent movie A House of Dynamite depicted U.S. interceptors failing, the Missile Defense Agency wrote up a memo claiming that the system is 100 percent foolproof.

Insult to Injury: Far-Left Illinois Congressional Candidate Who Got Wrecked by ICE Agent During Rowdy Protest Is Indicted by the Department of Justice

A far-left Illinois Democrat candidate has now received a double-dose of FAFO after trying to foolishly stop ICE agents from deporting illegal aliens.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Katherine Abughazaleh, who is running for Congress in Illinois’s 9th Congressional District, joined other anti-ICE protesters in Broadview last month to block a processing facility used by the agency.

Things quickly got out of control when an ICE agent lost a tear gas canister, which a protester picked up and threw in the direction of NewsNation reporter Ali Bradley.

Chaos continued to unfold when Abughazaleh decided to mess around with ICE. But one brave ICE agent stepped in and promptly took care of Abughazaleh.

As the video below shows, he forcibly dragged her away and proceeded to body slam her onto the ground. She ends up landing hard on her rear.

Republican Socialism Goes Nuclear: Trump Bets $80 Billion on Government-Backed Energy

Since President Donald Trump’s return to the Oval Office, the federal government has trademarked its own version of Republican socialism by nationalizing steel production and taking equity stakes in chip manufacturers and mining projects. Now, it’s getting involved in the nuclear power sector.

On Tuesday, Westinghouse Electric Company announced that it had entered “into a strategic partnership” with the federal government, Brookfield Asset Management, and uranium fuel supplier Cameco Corporation to build “at least” $80 billion worth of Westinghouse’s AP1000 nuclear reactors across the country. The agreement was made “in accordance” with Trump’s May executive order, which called for the deployment of 10 new large nuclear reactors in the U.S. by 2030, according to Westinghouse.

The details of the agreement are still a bit murky, but the federal government will underwrite at least some of these projects, while others might be financed by Japan. On Tuesday, Japan’s trade ministry pledged to invest $550 billion into American projects, in exchange for lower tariff rates from the Trump administration. Included in this package was an “artificial intelligence and a nuclear reactor construction initiative that was expected to be worth up to $100 billion and involve Mitsubishi Heavy [Industries] and Toshiba,” reports The New York Times.

The deal might also allow the federal government to take an equity stake in America’s largest nuclear power company. Bloomberg‘s Liam Denning writes that as long as the U.S. government follows through on its financial commitment, “it would then get a 20% share in any dividends paid out by Westinghouse above a $17.5 billion threshold.” If these projects are up and running within the next “three years or so” and “Westinghouse is deemed at that point to be worth at least $30 billion, the company may then be required to do an initial public offering with the government getting warrants that may convert into an equity stake,” according to Denning.

Nuclear power is clean, reliable, and safe, but forcing taxpayers to bet on its future success is risky. After thriving throughout the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s, the industry has been plagued by P.R. disasters and project failures that have hampered nuclear power for much of the last 30 years.

Recent efforts to revive the industry have not done much to build public confidence. A failed nuclear power plant project in South Carolina, which featured two AP1000 reactors, left ratepayers on the hook for millions of dollars, although Brookfield Management is considering reviving the project, according to the Associated Press.

Letters Confirm Liz Cheney Secretly Worked ‘Hand-In-Hand’ With Jack Smith

Two newly released congressional letters confirm years-long reporting that the anti-Trump Jan. 6 committee had quietly colluded with Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into President Donald Trump.

The letters, from Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., and disgraced former Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., reveal the lawmakers’ rush to hand over evidence before Republicans took control of Congress in 2023.

In those exchanges, they produced at least 16 interviews, deposition transcripts, exhibits, phone numbers and spreadsheets as part of their investigation into the events of Jan. 6, 2021.

One letter, dated Dec. 5, 2022, shows Thompson and Cheney informing Smith that while the body was concluding its work, they wanted to make the evidence they gathered “available to the Department of Justice.”

In that letter, the anti-Trump politicians told Smith he would receive “16 transcripts of interviews and depositions taken by” the committee, including “exhibits associated with those transcripts.” They even promised to facilitate “additional evidence as soon as possible.”

Just four days later, Thompson and Cheney wrote again to Smith, announcing the production of documents obtained from John Eastman and text messages from Mark Meadows, then Trump’s White House chief of staff.

“Along with the latter, we are producing a staff-created spreadsheet of the Meadows texts that contain additional information from privilege logs that Mr. Meadows provided to the Select Committee,” they added.

Even after those documents, they vowed to produce more materials to Smith “on a rolling basis.”

Now, the never-before-seen letters confirm what many suspected: the controversial committee worked “hand-in-hand” with Smith, the House Judiciary Committee said Tuesday.

Smith was appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland to target Trump after the 2020 election. Smith later used those materials to indict Trump, first over a document dispute between Trump and the Biden-led National Archives, and later over his objections to the certification of the 2020 election results.

The origins of that collusion trace back to the Jan. 6 committee itself, which was created in 2022 by then–Speaker Nancy Pelosi and excluded pro-Trump lawmakers.

CNN Drops a Bombshell: The Shutdown Is Backfiring on the Democrats Big Time

The Schumer Shutdown has taken a surprising turn that should have Democrats in a panic. CNN has analyzed the polling data, and situation looks really bad for the Democrats. It turns out the Republican Party is actually gaining ground with voters during the shutdown, creating a nightmare scenario for Chuck Schumer and his caucus. The numbers tell a remarkable story of political miscalculation by Democrats, who seem to have badly misread the public mood.

When CNN’s John Berman asked data analyst Harry Enten about how the shutdown has affected Republican political standing, he didn’t sugarcoat it for the left. “You might think, given that the Republicans are in charge of both the House and the Senate, that a government shutdown might actually hurt the Republican brand. But, in fact, it hasn’t. If anything, it’s been helped a little bit,” Enten explained. He pointed to the hard data showing the Republican Party’s overall brand up two points. Meanwhile, the net approval ratings for Republicans in Congress have jumped five points since before the shutdown began.

Democrats were really counting on the “Republicans control the House, Senate, and White House” talking point to work… but it clearly hasn’t. And the implications are staggering for Senate Democrats, who have now blocked Republican attempts to reopen the government 13 times. Rather than inflicting political damage on the GOP, Schumer’s obstruction strategy appears to be backfiring spectacularly. Enten drove home the point, noting what Republican leaders John Thune and Mike Johnson must be thinking: “Why should we give, electorally speaking, when our brand has actually improved a little bit?”

Even more problematic for Democrats is where Republicans are gaining support. The shutdown isn’t just rallying the GOP base, as one might expect during partisan battles. “Change in the Republican Congress’ net approval rating versus pre-shutdown. It’s rallying the base for sure. Look at this, the net approval rating up 12 points versus pre-shutdown,” Enten observed. But then came the real kicker: “But it’s not just with the base. It’s also with the middle of the electorate. Look at this. Among independents, it’s up eight points as well.”

Washington Post: Some Democrats Now ‘Growing Anxious’ About What a Zohran Mamdani Victory Will Mean for Their Party

A new report from the Washington Post claims that some Democrats are getting nervous about what a win for Zohran Mamdani in New York City would mean for their party in the long term. They are not alone.

Even Bill Maher expressed concerns about this on his show last Friday night.

The Democratic Socialist (communist) candidate has very little experience and has promised the moon and more to his loyal supporters. Rank and file Democrats, who have fought the ‘socialist’ label for years, now realize that there will be no escape from that in the future if Mamdani wins and becomes the face of the party.

The Washington Post piece is behind a paywall, but FOX News has some details:

‘Democrats are nervous’ about potential Zohran Mamdani victory, new report warns

A report from The Washington Post Tuesday warned that “Democrats are nervous” about New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, as the 34-year-old democratic socialist’s momentum continues ahead of the election.

“In New York, Zohran Mamdani is on the verge of taking democratic socialism to new heights if he wins election as mayor of the nation’s most populous city,” wrote The Post’s Sabrina Rodriguez. “Outside New York, some Democrats are growing anxious.”

The headline read, “A democratic socialist is poised to become New York mayor. Democrats are nervous.”

The report contains quotes from numerous Democrats expressing their concerns over what Mamdani’s potential win could mean for the Democratic Party’s image and how it could reinforce Republicans’ claims that Democrats aim to usher in socialism.

“It’s one thing for Republicans to use absurd attacks calling Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi socialists to scare voters,” Fernand Amandi, a longtime Democratic strategist, told The Post. “It’s another thing to use an actual socialist to scare voters about the Democrats being the party of socialists, and that’s the concern about Mamdani.”

Mamdani was recently caught in a lie about a family member who was supposedly afraid to ride the NYC subway after 9/11 because of Islamophobia.

He has also worked very hard to erase his own anti-police record, but keeps getting tripped up on that as well.

UN Special Rapporteur on Health Fined for Racist Rant Against ‘White Man’

A professional ethics panel found United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Right to Health Dr. Tlaleng Mofokeng guilty of unprofessional conduct for racist and profane remarks, and ordered her to pay a fine.

Mofokeng is an anti-Israel radical who opposes the Gaza ceasefire and prefers a return to war — despite the potentially negative consequences for public health — because, in her view, the “occupation” is not over.

“Until the occupation ends, there won’t be peace. We need an end to the occupation, immediate, unconditional ceasefire,” Mofokeng said on October 23, nearly two weeks after the ceasefire took effect.

Mofokeng had earlier used foul language on social media to attack Israel (“F** you Netanyahu”), and disparaged human rights advocate Hillel Neuer of the watchdog organization UN Watch in racist terms: “You white man. Evil scum. Voetsek [Afrikaans profanity for “Get lost”].”

The South African Zionist Federation (SAZF), a pro-Israel group, filed a complaint with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), a professional ethics body.

The HPCSA conducted an investigation and found Mofokeng guilty of unprofessional conduct, imposing a fine of 10,000 South African rand (about $580).

Global Cybercrime Treaty Draws Criticism from Rights Groups and Tech Companies Over Surveillance Fears

Sixty-five countries, including the United States and Canada, have signed a United Nations treaty on cybercrime that threatens privacy, online research, and free expression.

The agreement, known as the UN Convention against Cybercrime, was signed in Hanoi and will take effect once 40 member states have ratified it.

Each country must complete its own ratification process. In the United States, a two-thirds Senate vote is required for approval.

The UN Secretary-General António Guterres described the treaty as an essential step in combating cybercrime, saying that “cyberspace has become fertile ground for criminals…every day, sophisticated scams defraud families, steal livelihoods, and drain billions of dollars from our economies.”

He called the Convention “a powerful, legally binding instrument to strengthen our collective defenses against cybercrime” and insisted it “cannot be used for any forms of surveillance or others that could be linked to violations of human rights.”

The UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), which directed negotiations, has argued that the treaty includes protections for human rights and legitimate research.

But organizations such as Human Rights Watch (HRW) and the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) disagree.

Before the signing, both groups urged governments not to endorse the treaty, warning that its vague definitions could allow governments to monitor citizens, prosecute security researchers, and suppress political speech.

Technology companies have also raised concerns. The Cybersecurity Tech Accord, whose members include Meta and Microsoft, described the treaty as a “surveillance treaty” that could promote government data sharing and criminalize ethical hacking.

Federal Judge Rules Los Angeles-Based US Attorney Bill Essayli Has Been in Role Unlawfully

A federal judge on Tuesday evening said Los Angeles-based US Attorney Bill Essayli has been in the role unlawfully and disqualified him.

President Trump chose California Republican Assemblyman Bill Essayli to serve as the acting US attorney for the Central District of California earlier this year.

Bill Essayli is a staunch Trump supporter who has been aggressively investigating and prosecuting illegal aliens and criminals.

US District Judge Michael Seabright, a George W. Bush appointee, said Essayli has been unlawfully serving since July.

Judge Seabright did not dismiss Essayli’s indictments because they were signed by other attorneys for the government.

The judge, however, said Essayli remains the First Assistant US Attorney and may perform the function of that office.

“For the reasons stated, however, the court does not dismiss Defendants’ indictments, as they were lawfully signed by other attorneys for the government and there has been no showing of due process violations or other irregularities in Defendants’ prosecutions resulting from Essayli’s unlawful service as Acting United States Attorney. Moreover, Essayli remains the FAUSA and may perform the functions and duties of that office,” the judge wrote.

Bill Essayli responded to the judge’s ruling.

“For those who didn’t read the entire order, nothing is changing. I continue serving as the top federal prosecutor in the Central District of California. It ‘s an honor and privilege to serve President Trump and Attorney General Bondi, and I look forward to advancing their agenda for the American People,” Bill Essayli said.
