Newsom Brutally Fact-Checked Over Latest Anti-Trump Sales Pitch

California Governor Gavin Newsom is running for President in 2028. That much is obvious.

What doesn’t make sense to us, however, is that Newsom seems to be working under the impression he’ll be running against President Trump in three years, not some other yet-unnamed Republican. He’s tried — in cringe-inducing fashion — to emulate President Trump’s brash style, and constantly attacks the president as if he’ll be running for reelection in 2028.

We won’t disabuse Newsom of that idea; any time he spends wasting energy and resources on attacking President Trump only helps whoever the actual nominee is.

That being said, Newsom is not above lying to achieve his political ends, and he’s back doing that and attacking President Trump in the same X post.

Trump Directs Pentagon to Start Testing Nuclear Weapons Again

President Donald Trump on Wednesday ordered the Pentagon to begin conducting nuclear weapons tests again after a three-decade moratorium on the practice.

“Because of other countries’ testing programs, I have instructed the Department of War to start testing our Nuclear Weapons on an equal basis,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. “That process will begin immediately.”

Trump posted the statement just before he was set to meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping in South Korea, where the two discussed trade issues.

Nuclear tests in the atmosphere, space, or underwater have been banned since the 1963 Limited Test Ban Treaty, which permitted continued underground nuclear testing for several decades.

The United States last conducted a nuclear weapons test underground in September 1992.

That year, President George H.W. Bush announced that the United States would undertake a unilateral moratorium on all nuclear weapons testing, including those conducted underground.

Leftists Are Pushing for Global Speech Censorship

The Democratic Party, and the global Left in general, spent the last five years crying about “mis/disinformation” and the need for more oversight of social media platforms and the Internet in general. It is anathema to the people who think they are our moral and intellectual superiors that we might say, write, or think things with which they disagree.

In moves that would make George Orwell turn over in his grave, the Biden administration tried to force the “Disinformation Governance Board” on America. Turns out that board was born after a 2022 speech given by former President Barack Obama at the Stanford Cyber Policy Center — a speech that pushed for broad censorship of the Internet.

Michael Shellenberger is now sounding the alarm that global censorship is coming unless we stop it.

The entire post is long, but we’ll highlight the most salient (and alarming) points:

But now, foreign governments, including Europe, the UK, Brazil, Australia, and others are demanding censorship, including of the American people. The risk is that US tech companies will find it significantly less expensive to have a single global censorship regime and just go along with foreign censorship requests. Facebook complied with Biden administration demands to censor because it needed Biden’s help in dealing with European censorship officials. And the Brazilian government forced Elon Musk to continue censoring the Brazilian people after it froze Starlink’s assets.

And Public has discovered that the Stanford Cyber Policy Center, which is led by Obama’s former ambassador to Russia, Michael McFaul, is at the heart of a new, secretive, and possibly illegal censorship initiative that appears even more ambitious than the one Obama proposed in 2022.

On September 24, the Cyber Policy Center hosted a secret dinner between its leaders and top censorship officials from Europe, UK, Brazil, California and Australia. The meeting was titled “Compliance and Enforcement in a Rapidly Evolving Landscape.” Frank McCourt, the same person behind the Stanford Internet Observatory, financed the gathering through his “Project Liberty Institute,” (PLI), toward which he gave $500 million to “strengthen democracy” and “foster responsible technology.”

Senate Republicans Reject Bill to Fund SNAP Benefits During Shutdown

Senate Republicans on Tuesday voted down a Democratic bill to fund the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) through the government shutdown.

As tens of millions of Americans stare down the prospect of going hungry beginning Nov. 1, Senate Republicans rejected a unanimous consent bid by Sen. Ben Ray Lujan (D-N.M.) to keep the program funded.

SNAP allows those with low to no income to buy food and beverages at grocery stores.

While this benefit is mandatory—unlike Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security—it is funded through appropriations.

SNAP benefits were scheduled to be handed out on Nov. 1, but without government funding, that assistance will not be administered.

An earlier, now-deleted Sept. 30 post from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities titled “Lapse of Funding Plan,” said that SNAP benefits would continue flowing during the shutdown. The agency is now contradicting that earlier memo.

MAJOR FAFO: DOJ Announces Federal Charges Against 10 Anti-ICE Protestors Who Ambushed Law Enforcement During Raid on California Pot Farm

The Justice Department on Wednesday announced federal charges against 10 anti-ICE protestors who ambushed law enforcement officers during a raid on a California pot farm over the summer.

Federal agents descended on two marijuana farms in Ventura County owned Glass House Farms located in Camarillo and Carpinteria in Southern California over the summer.

According to reports, anti-ICE protestors were tipped off to the raid after federal agents obtained a search warrant on the marijuana farm.

Amid the chaos, a protestor was caught on video shooting at federal agents. No one was struck by the gunfire.

The anti-ICE rioter who fired shots at federal agents is still at large.

Per the DOJ:

Law enforcement has arrested a total of 10 defendants federally charged in three criminal complaints with engaging in violence and civil disorder against law enforcement officers and property during immigration enforcement actions in Southern California earlier this year, the Justice Department announced today.

Ten defendants are in federal custody. One defendant is in state custody and is expected to be handed over to federal authorities. One defendant is a fugitive. All 12 defendants are charged with federal crimes alleging they committed violence against law enforcement authorities and property.

Zohran Mamdani’s Mother Says He Is ‘Not an American at All’ in Resurfaced Interview

Zohran Mamdani’s mother, in a resurfaced interview with the Hindustan Times from 2013, said her son is “not an American at all.” She also used terminology that many view as derogatory to the United States.

“He is a total desi,” filmmaker Mira Nair said about her son while he was attending Bowdoin College. “Completely. We are not firangs at all. He is very much us. He is not an Uhmericcan (American) at all. He was born in Uganda, raised between India and America. He is at home in many places. He thinks of himself as a Ugandan and as an Indian.”

In Hindi and Urdu, the word “firang” refers to foreigners, particularly Westerners. But Mehek Cooke, an attorney born in India who now works as a consultant for the GOP, told Fox News the term is not “some harmless cultural term,” but rather a “slur.”

“It’s the word used back in India to mock outsiders, to say you don’t belong,” Cooke said. “Using it here about your own child raised in the United States carries the same tone as calling someone a derogatory word — or worse. It’s flippant, divisive, and dripping with contempt for the very country that gave your family a better life.”

“When Mamdani’s mother says her son was ‘never a firang and only desi,’ it’s a rejection of America. It’s ungrateful, disrespectful, and frankly repulsive to live in this country since age seven, receive every freedom, education, and opportunity America offers, and still deny being American,” she concluded.

RFK Jr. Says Officials Exploring Feasibility of Breaking Up MMR Vaccine

Federal officials are looking at separating vaccines for the measles and several other diseases into individual shots, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said on Oct. 29.

“We’re looking at the feasibility of that now,” Kennedy told reporters in Washington after being asked about breaking up the combination measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine.

Kennedy did not offer more details.

“Immunizations for measles, mumps, and rubella would be best administered as three separate vaccines,” a spokesperson for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) told The Epoch Times in an email. “Standalone vaccinations can potentially reduce the risk of side effects and can maximize parental choice in childhood immunizations.”

President Donald Trump, in September, called for people to take separate shots against measles, mumps, and rubella. No individual shots against those diseases are currently available in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which is part of HHS.

After Trump, on Oct. 6, again said on social media that the MMR vaccine should be given in separate shots, acting CDC Director and Deputy HHS Secretary Jim O’Neill boosted the post and urged vaccine manufacturers to act.

Hollywood producer David Pearce mocked for ‘LA vibe’ by judge before getting hit with 146-year sentence for rapes, twisted OD murders

Monster producer David Pearce used his “LA vibe, slicked-back hair and duck lips” charm to drug and prey on nine young women over 15 years — and three of them are now dead, authorities revealed at his sentencing Wednesday.

The wannabe Hollywood bigwig was handed 146 years in prison — the max — after he was convicted of murder earlier this year for drugging model Christy Giles, 24, and pal Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola, 26 and leaving them to die after they overdosed on his fentanyl-laced cocaine following a night out in November 2021.

But that was only the end of his brutality, not the beginning. He was also convicted of raping seven women who came forward after his arrest — including a hero cop who was killed in the line of duty days before she would have confronted him in court. The attacks dated back to 2007.

“You’re the worst kind of criminal, Mr. Pearce,” LA County Superior Court Judge Eleanor Hunter raged from the bench, condemning the man as a smooth-talking seducer who had “the whole LA vibe thing going on” with his “duck lips” and “slicked back hair.”

He assaulted Lauren Craven in 2020. She went on to become a promising young police officer in La Mesa, CA — a career choice partly inspired by her horrifying encounter with Pearce, one prosecutor told the court.

Fed Judge Releases Dangerous Criminal Arrested for Soliciting Bondi’s Assassination

One of the many federal judges involved in an immigration case with the Trump administration has released a TikTok user who, federal authorities allege, put a $45,000 bounty on the head of U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Magistrate Douglas Micko released Tyler Maxon Avalos on a personal recognizance bond, court documents show.

The case against Avalos is solid. Micko’s lax conditions for release suggest that Avalos, a violent criminal with a lengthy criminal record, can easily flee the country if he has half a brain.

Avalos is the third person arrested this month for soliciting the murder of a federal official.

Whether Micko knew it, he released a dangerous criminal who was, the FBI affidavit says, planning to murder Bondi.

Avalos’ trouble began on October 9, when a TikTok user in Detroit reported the plot to the FBI National Threat Operations Center. The user reported “a threatening post against United States Attorney General Pam Bondi that had come across the user’s TikTok feed,” the affidavit alleges:

The TikTok user reported the threat as a murder for hire of US Attorney General Pam Bondi. The TikTok user reported that the threatening post was “Imposing a hit on Pam bondi for $45,000 posting it on tiktok his user name is @liminalvoidslip.”

Screenshots of the post show a photo “with a sniper-scope red dot on AG Bondi’s forehead,” the affidavit alleges.

The caption says “WANTED: Pam Bondi” / “REWARD: 45,000” / “DEAD OR ALIVE” / “(PREFERABLY DEAD).”

Strangely, the screenshot shows a comment that says “*cough cough*” / “when they don’t serve us then what?”

Trump’s Lawyers Seek Dismissal of President’s Criminal Conviction

Lawyers for President Donald Trump late on Oct. 27 asked an appeals court in New York state to throw out Trump’s criminal conviction for falsifying business records.

Evidence in the case was insufficient to convict Trump, his lawyers told the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division in a brief. They also said the court had wrongly ruled against the theory that presidential immunity means that official acts cannot be used against a president.

“In addition to all this overwhelming error, the trial was conducted by a judge who refused to recuse himself despite having made political contributions to President Trump’s electoral opponents and despite having disqualifying family conflicts,” the lawyers wrote. “For each of these independent reasons, President Trump’s conviction must be set aside.”

Trump, at the time a candidate for president, was convicted in 2024 of falsifying business records.

After Trump won the 2024 election, Justice Juan Merchan of the New York State Supreme Court handed down a sentence with no jail time or fines, citing “legal protections afforded to the office of the president of the United States.”

Merchan, who was overseeing the case, had previously turned away Trump’s arguments against evidence in the case and assertions that the president was protected by presidential immunity.
