Rise of the Resistance?

Over at the Free Press, River Page has his morning news roundup for today. Below the fold, Page notes that protests are beginning to appear around the country. True, the Left spent considerable time recovering from November and has been trying to keep up with the flurry of activity from the White House. But it would appear that in some sectors, the progressives are getting their feet back under them and dusting off the old outrage.

Page notes:

After a month characterized by a notable dearth of protests, the crowds are beginning to show up. Students—like at Stanford this past week—are shouting down conservative speakers, and Democrats nationwide are seeing a surge in fundraising as they begin to launch legal battles against the administration. Overflow crowds have inundated Bernie Sanders’ rallies. His adviser said, “There is a lot more anger building, such that we are seeing in deep-red Republican-held districts that people are coming out.”

The Stanford Review reported that on Tuesday, ten-plus protesters shouted down and disrupted a debate between Berkeley Professor Emmanuel Saez and former Treasury Secretary and Harvard president Lawrence Summers and took over the stage for around 20 minutes. On Wednesday, around 50 anti-Israel protesters took over a building at Barnard College in New York City. Their ire stemmed from the expulsion of two students for storming buildings at Columbia and handing out pamphlets laden with anti-Jewish propaganda. One employee was assaulted in yesterday’s collective tantrum.

Part of this is because the Left is finally over its shock, and it has things like USAID to use as red meat. And then there is the faction of people who continue to mouth the anti-Trump mantra, no matter the topic at hand. And the weather is getting better. Today’s generation is nowhere near as strong as their counterparts who lived through the Battle of the Bulge, stormed Omaha Beach, or went through the grueling process of island-hopping in the South Pacific. To put it in terms of historical warfare, it is campaigning season again. The weather will soon be nice enough to get out and break a few things in the name of justice.

Feds ID hacker who played AI video of Trump kissing Musk’s feet – and warn that ‘legal ramifications are being explored’

The feds have ID’d the cyberpunk who broadcast an AI-powered video of President Trump kissing the feet of Elon Musk on public TVs at HUD on Monday and are threatening to take legal action against them.

Officials at the Department of Housing and Urban Development said the individual has been identified, although they didn’t name them or reveal how the hacker managed to infiltrate the government television system in the cafeteria at the agency’s headquarters.

“Yesterday, an individual was escorted off the property,” a HUD rep told The Post on Tuesday. “Legal ramifications are being explored. Additionally, termination or suspension of certain services are being explored as it relates to the department.”

Workers at HUD were caught off guard when the disturbing rogue video was broadcast at department headquarters with the message: “LONG LIVE THE REAL KING.”

TREACHERY: CIA Agents Opposed to Trump Pondering Taking State Secrets to Foreign Powers

There are leakers, and then there are leakers. Some leaking can be justified; whistleblowers to legitimately bad or evil practices by people in positions of authority is technically leaking of information, possibly even classified information, for instance.

On the other hand, on Monday, we learned that there may be some Trump-hating personnel at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) who are threatening to take classified intelligence information to foreign governments if their positions are threatened by the efforts of the Department of Government Efficiency — the DOGE.

There is a word for that. It’s not a pretty one.

In an effort to comply with an executive order to downsize the federal workforce, the CIA earlier this month sent the White House an extraordinarily unusual email listing all new hires that have been with the agency for two years or less — a list that included CIA officers who were preparing to operate under cover — over an unclassified email server.

Wait, didn’t we have a certain former Secretary of State who kept classified material on an unclassified and unsecured email server? What was her name again?

The agency is now considering whether some of the employees listed in the email to the White House who were previously slated for covert deployments in sensitive locations overseas should now be held back or reassigned, sources familiar with the matter said, because the risk that their identity may have been exposed to foreign government hackers is too high.

That, to be fair, is a legitimate concern. There is a chance that leaked information could result in the death of an operator; I have an old friend who was a CIA Foreign Intelligence Officer (FIA) for 30 years, and I remember him saying that one of these people’s great fears was being “burned.” That was something that could easily end in a prolonged and painful death.

Here’s the alarming part:

With the CIA and other intelligence agencies, “you take whatever number of employees who are gonna get cut loose and they have knowledge of sensitive programs — that by definition is an insider risk,” this person said. “You’re just rolling the dice that these folks are gonna honor their secrecy agreement and not volunteer to a hostile intelligence service.”

This shouldn’t be a question. These people took oaths. They have — or had — security clearances, with the extensive background checks that go with those. I know — I’ve undergone a background check for a top-secret clearance myself. And, depending on which foreign government these disgruntled ex-employees might choose to go to, this act would be, arguably, treason.

Apple Confirms Infowars Report iPhone Voice Dictation Swaps ‘Trump’ for ‘Racist’

Apple says it’s fixing an issue after users noticed their iPhones temporarily showed the name “Trump” when they attempted to type the word “racist” by using the voice-to-text feature.

The issue was reported and replicated by Infowars host Alex Jones Tuesday morning after his daughter saw it on TikTok and duplicated it on several phones.

Jones was then able to replicate the issue on several other iPhones, warning it could be a “subliminal attack on President Trump.”

The liberal establishment is finally criticizing ethnic cleansing in Gaza now that they can blame Trump

A week after the long-awaited ceasefire between Hamas and Israel brought a rare moment of quiet skies for Palestinians, President Donald Trump announced his plan to “clean out” Gaza, proposing to relocate its remaining population to neighboring countries like Jordan and Egypt. He has since reiterated this stance, claiming that the U.S. aims to “take over” Gaza, in order to rebuild and develop the area into a “riviera of the Middle East”. Is it, one may ask, truly a Trump presidency without the permanent furrowing of one’s brow?

Palestinians were quick to react to Trump: while some do have fears about the uncertainty of their safety and future in the shadow of 15 months of non-stop bombardment that left the strip decimated of both human life and infrastructure, many others expressed their steadfast resolve to remain.

“We will remain here – staying above the rubble, stones and iron. We will remain in our homeland, in Gaza”, said Manar Hamo of the Bureij camp.

But some of the most fervent pushback to Trump’s plan to takeover Gaza has come from the very same people, institutions, and newsrooms that spent fifteen months either remaining quiet on the extermination of Palestinians or supporting and building the case for it to continue. What we find is that there is a manufacturing of a moral hysteria around Trump’s proposal that seeks to – either intentionally or by way of liberal anti-Trump muscle memory – erase the direct culpability of the Biden-Harris administration and the Democrats in the genocide of Palestinians.

And so we have been ambushed by their discovery of the words “war crime”, “ethnic cleansing”, “dastardly deed” and “morally indefensible”. Even The New York Times’ made the very novel discovery of what international law may have to say about forced displacement. What we are seeing, again and again, is the introduction of language that not only offers the criminality of a Trump administration policy that has yet to be put in place but also explicitly moralizes about violence against Palestinians, a moralizing that was markedly absent as U.S-funded and made bombs were ripping apart Palestinian families for fifteen months straight.

Crash Landing: The Democratic Spin On Trump Causing Plane Accidents Collides With Reality

For weeks, politicians and pundits have engaged in a ghoulish effort to blame every plane accident on the Trump Administration, even accidents that occurred within the first weeks of the Trump Administration.

Hillary Clinton led the effort by bizarrely suggesting that the collision of the airliner and the helicopter over the Potomac was due to the changes in Trump’s policies.

The spin showed utter contempt for the intelligence of the public since there was no evidence that the Trump Administration policies had any impact on the accidents.

Nevertheless, the press and pundits fueled the false narrative by citing various accidents in January. That narrative then collapsed after CNN and other media outlets acknowledged that there were actually fewer accidents in January than average and that the Biden Administration saw more accidents during the same period.

The attempt to use these tragedies for raw political advantage is appalling. However, it also shows the complete disregard for the intelligence of voters in suggesting the nexus between the change of Administration and airplane accidents shortly after the inauguration.

It does not matter that Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy was not confirmed until January 28, 2025, less than 24 hours before the accident over the Potomac.

Nevertheless, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and others immediately weaponized that and later tragedies.

Schumer was joined by media figures like former MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan, who later was compelled to delete a tweet on Sunday, Feb. 16 in which he wrote “Make American Plane Crash Again.”

Like others, Hasan was connecting a small plane crash in Georgia to the start of the Trump Administration.

Then there was Rep. Eric Swalwell. We have previously discussed the bottomless pit of Swalwellian logic, such as shutting down the government to prevent government shutdowns.

The logic tree was felled again by Swalwell in blaming the Trump Administration for the crash in Georgia: “Trump is President. President Trump is in charge of air safety. All crashes are Trump’s fault.”

Supreme Ct. Filing Exposes How Charlottesville Officials Enabled 2017 Violence to Suppress Speech

A new Supreme Court petition filed by political activist Warren Balogh sheds light on what he calls the ‘intentional dereliction of duty’ by Charlottesville officials during the infamous 2017 “Unite the Right” rally. The petition, appealing a lower court decision from the Fourth Circuit, raises serious constitutional questions about whether local governments can deliberately allow chaos and violence as a means of suppressing speech they dislike.

Balogh is a self-described ‘pro-white’ activist. Far-left groups use a variety of labels to describe him as a ‘white nationalist’ and other such defamatory terms. Balogh says he was at the Charlottesville rally for only one purpose: to oppose the destruction of a historical monument. The Lee monument was destroyed in 2023, despite promises by officials it would be relocated.

Balogh is appealing the Fourth Circuit’s dismissal of his claims, as part of Balogh v. Virginia, 120 F.4th 127. That appeal was decided by Chief Judge Albert Diaz, an Obama appointee. That court said that because the participants engaged in violence, they were not entitled to protection from the police, a ruling at odds with the evidence in the case.

You can read the request for Supreme Court review here.

Charlottesville’s supposed right-wing violence is the reason Joe Biden gave for running against Donald Trump in the 2020 election.

Federal Judge Sides with Woke Agenda, Blocks Trump’s Orders to End Taxpayer-Funded DEI Scam

In yet another case of activist judges undermining the will of the American people, a Biden-appointed federal judge has issued a sweeping injunction blocking President Donald Trump’s executive orders aimed at ending taxpayer-funded diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) schemes.

U.S. District Judge Adam Abelson, a left-wing operative placed on the bench by Joe Biden, ruled on Friday that the Trump administration cannot immediately revoke federal contracts and grants that promote divisive DEI initiatives, claiming such actions may violate “free speech rights,” according to far-left AP.

In other words, the judge believes that forcing taxpayers to fund radical leftist ideology is a constitutional right.

On his first day back in office, President Trump moved swiftly to dismantle the race-obsessed, Marxist bureaucracy embedded within the federal government by issuing executive orders that directed agencies to eliminate DEI-related funding and contracts.

He further required federal contractors to certify that they do not promote discriminatory DEI policies, a move that sent leftist institutions into a panic.

The City of Baltimore, along with a coalition of liberal academia and DEI profiteers, rushed to sue the Trump administration, desperately trying to keep the federal gravy train flowing.

The lawsuit whines that Trump’s orders will cause “irreparable harm” to DEI bureaucrats and the institutions that rely on billions in taxpayer funding to push radical race and gender policies.

“The Russia Hoax”: A tale of power, manipulation and political intrigue

In the summer of 2016, a cascade of political maneuvers and covert operations began that would forever alter the landscape of American politics. At the epicenter of this storm was former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director James Comey, who launched an investigation into then-candidate Donald Trump, despite the absence of credible evidence.

This probe, labeled a “counterintelligence matter,” set the stage for a two-year saga involving the FBI, U.S. intelligence agencies, the mainstream media and the Democratic Party, all of whom were convinced that Trump’s victory could only have been achieved through a nefarious conspiracy with Russia.

Author Gregg Jarrett, in his book “The Russia Hoax: The Illicit Scheme to Clear Hillary Clinton and Frame Donald Trump,” meticulously dissects this intricate web of events, revealing a story of abuse of power, misinformation and political machinations.

Jarrett argues that the investigation was not just a misguided effort but a deliberate attempt to undermine Trump’s presidency and protect Hillary Clinton from legal repercussions for her email scandal.

Central to Jarrett’s narrative is the role of the Clinton campaign in funding the Steele Dossier, a compilation of unverified and salacious allegations against Trump, which was used to justify the surveillance of a Trump campaign associate. The dossier, compiled by a former British spy, Christopher Steele, became the linchpin of the FBI’s investigation. However, the FBI actively concealed the fact that the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee had underwritten this document, a revelation that Jarrett argues was crucial to the legitimacy of the probe.

“This dossier was the pretext for a covert operation that turned the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into a political witch hunt,” Jarrett writes. The FBI’s decision to use an undercover informant to infiltrate the Trump campaign, hoping to entrap associates, further underscores the lengths to which the agency was willing to go to find a crime that did not exist.

Did a Senate Democrat Just Call for an Insurrection?

Do you remember when Democrats accused former President Trump of incitement for telling his supporters to “peacefully and patriotically” march to the Capitol to make their voices heard? Well, fast forward to today, and we have a sitting senator engaging in rhetoric that does far more than make a call for peaceful assembly. Earlier this week, Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) advocated for “revolution” while standing outside in snow-covered Boston, a site steeped in revolutionary history.

“Massachusetts is where revolutions are born,” Markey began. “And the revolution against Donald Trump and Elon Musk starts here.”

“This is the city of revolutionaries from the American Revolution to create checks and balances in the United States Constitution so that we did not have a dictator — a king — the way those colonists were living under it. And they fought all along Massachusetts Avenue. All coming out, the men and women to say, ‘no taxation without representation.’ We want to have a balance, we cannot have a king.”

Markey’s choice of words raises an important question: is “revolution” just a dog whistle for “insurrection”? His post on X proudly calls for this upheaval, and he pinned it to his account to make sure people see it. Perhaps he believes this kind of incendiary language is acceptable when those on the left wield it.
