New York Times Admits Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz Oversaw ‘Staggering’ Levels Social Security Fraud — Over $1 Billion Stolen by Somali Migrants

The left-wing New York Times has admitted that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz oversaw a “staggering” level of fraud across the state’s social services.

In a piece published on Saturday, the Times argued that Walz, who last year became one of the least successful vice-presidental nominees in living memory, had overseen a level of fraud “staggering in its scale and brazenness,” largely by the state’s Somali community.

Their report states:

Over the last five years, law enforcement officials say, fraud took root in pockets of Minnesota’s Somali diaspora as scores of individuals made small fortunes by setting up companies that billed state agencies for millions of dollars’ worth of social services that were never provided.

Federal prosecutors say that 59 people have been convicted in those schemes so far, and that more than $1 billion in taxpayers’ money has been stolen in three plots they are investigating.

That is more than Minnesota spends annually to run its Department of Corrections. Minnesota’s fraud scandal stood out even in the context of rampant theft during the pandemic, when Americans stole tens of billions through unemployment benefits, business loans and other forms of aid, according to federal auditors.

Outrage has swelled among Minnesotans, and fraud has turned into a potent political issue in a competitive campaign season. Gov. Tim Walz and fellow Democrats are being asked to explain how so much money was stolen on their watch, providing Republicans, who hope to take back the governor’s office in 2026, with a powerful line of attack.

However, Walz is unwilling to confront the issue over his fear of losing Somali voting base, who may seek to replace him with an even more radical candidate of their own, most likely in the style of Congesswoman Ilhan Omar.

Minnesota university teaches about ‘whiteness pandemic’ and it does not sit well with taxpayers

DEI appeared alive and well in the Twin Cities, where a new report cast a light on the “absurd ideas” a university perpetuated on “whiteness” at the taxpayer’s expense.

Among the many initiatives of President Donald Trump’s administration, tackling the woke ideologies that have permeated the federal government and society has been given priority treatment. Now it appeared the University of Minnesota would be facing some extra scrutiny from the Department of Justice after the pet project of the school’s Culture and Family Life Lab director was found to be promoting the idea of a “Whiteness Pandemic.”

Featured in a report from the watchdog group Defending Education, Dr. Gail Ferguson of the university’s Institute of Child Development had led current and former graduate fellows on a project that contends, “If you were born or raised in the United States, you have grown up in the Whiteness Pandemic, and you can play a role in halting and reversing this pandemic, especially if you are White because of the power and privilege you hold in this racialized society.”

“If you were socialized into the culture of Whiteness during childhood, it is not your fault, but as an adult it is now your responsibility to self-reflect, re-educate yourself, and act,” continued the project, still prominently featured on the university’s website. “If you are a White adult, antiracist action involves an ongoing process of self-reflection in order to develop a healthy positive White identity while engaging in courageous antiracist parenting/caregiving.”

An example from the report featured by Defending Education took aim at families as it read, “Naming the Whiteness Pandemic shifts our gaze from the victims and effects of racism onto the systems that perpetrate and perpetuate racism, starting with the family system. At birth, young children growing up in White families begin to be socialized into the culture of Whiteness, making the family system one of the most powerful systems involved in systemic racism.”

“This far-left programming at a major public university is another example of how ingrained DEI is in higher education and is not going away any time soon,” Defending Education research Director Rhyen Staley told Fox News Digital.

“It is not only concerning that these programs appear to still be up and running, but that absurd ideas like ‘whiteness’ also gain legitimacy through dubious activist-academic ‘scholarship.’ Universities must end this nonsense yesterday,” added Staley.

As to how Ferguson’s project had drawn its conclusions, the research was said to have surveyed close to 400 white mothers, nearly all of whom were from Minnesota, with an average income between $125,000 and $150,000. The vast majority had a college education, and 61% identified as “somewhat or very liberal” compared to 18% as “somewhat or very conservative.”

MINNESOTA MADNESS: Radical Democrat Judge Sarah West OVERTURNS Jury’s Guilty Verdict — Frees Somali Immigrant Who Stole $7.2 MILLION in Medicaid Fraud Scheme

Radical Democrat judge Sarah West, appointed by former Democrat Governor Mark Dayton, has tossed out a jury’s unanimous guilty verdict, setting free Abdifatah Yusuf, a Somali immigrant convicted of masterminding a massive Medicaid fraud ring that siphoned off $7.2 million from taxpayers.

A jury had found Yusuf guilty in August on six counts of aiding and abetting theft by swindle, following evidence that his home-healthcare company billed Medicaid for hundreds of thousands dollars in “phantom” care, padding bills for services never delivered.

Prosecutors documented that many of those funds were funneled into luxury cars, high-end clothing, and other extravagant personal purchases.

But Judge West, rather than upholding the jury’s verdict, claimed the case hinged on circumstantial evidence and offered “other reasonable inferences” for the billing irregularities, arguing prosecutors failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Yusuf was personally responsible for the fraud. She issued a judgment of acquittal.

Jurors, prosecutors, and state lawmakers were stunned. One juror told reporters he believed the evidence demonstrated “obvious guilt.” The state’s Attorney General has already filed an appeal, warning the decision undermines public trust.

Trump Announces He is Terminating Temporary Protected Status for Somalis in Minnesota — EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

President Donald J. Trump just delivered a brutal Friday night nuke to the Somali enclave in Minneapolis, announcing the immediate termination of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Somalis, a move that opens the door to rapid deportations in the heart of Ilhan Omar’s district.

The termination of TPS for these Somali migrants comes after years of exploding crime and the massive Feeding Our Future Medicaid fraud scandal that saw some of the stolen money funneled to the al-Shabaab terror group.

US Attorney Joseph Thompson believes “billions of dollars in taxpayer money” have been stolen from welfare fraud schemes.

“To be clear, this is not an isolated scheme,” Thompson said in September. “From Feeding Our Future to Housing Stabilization Services and now Autism Services, these massive fraud schemes form a web that has stolen billions of dollars in taxpayer money.”

Over 70 defendants, almost all Somali, have already been charged in the scheme, with more indictments expected.

REPORT: Minnesota Taxpayers Are Being Robbed Blind, and Their Money is Funding Terrorism in Somalia

An explosive new investigative report by writers Ryan Thorpe and Chris Rufo reveals that American taxpayers in Minnesota are helping to fund terrorists in Somalia.

This is being done through a shell game that is played with our health and human services programs. Minnesota is ground zero for this fraud with Somalia because of the massive number of Somalis now living in the state.

This is insane.

From City Journal:

Minnesota is drowning in fraud. Billions in taxpayer dollars have been stolen during the administration of Governor Tim Walz alone. Democratic state officials, overseeing one of the most generous welfare regimes in the country, are asleep at the switch. And the media, duty-bound by progressive pieties, refuse to connect the dots.

In many cases, the fraud has allegedly been perpetrated by members of Minnesota’s sizeable Somali community. Federal counterterrorism sources confirm that millions of dollars in stolen funds have been sent back to Somalia, where they ultimately landed in the hands of the terror group Al-Shabaab. As one confidential source put it: “The largest funder of Al-Shabaab is the Minnesota taxpayer.”

Minnesota taxpayers should be outraged about this. All Americans should:

On September 18, Thompson announced criminal indictments for HSS fraud against Moktar Hassan Aden, Mustafa Dayib Ali, Khalid Ahmed Dayib, Abdifitah Mohamud Mohamed, Christopher Adesoji Falade, Emmanuel Oluwademilade Falade, Asad Ahmed Adow, and Anwar Ahmed Adow—six of whom, according a U.S. Attorney’s Office spokesperson, are members of Minnesota’s Somali community. Thompson made clear that this is just the first round of charges for HSS fraud that his office will be prosecuting.

“Most of these cases, unlike a lot of Medicare fraud and Medicaid fraud cases nationally, aren’t just overbilling,” Thompson said at a press conference announcing the indictments. “These are often just purely fictitious companies solely created to defraud the system, and that’s unique in the extent to which we have that here in Minnesota.”

Thompson said many firms enrolled in the program “operated out of dilapidated storefronts or rundown office buildings.” The perpetrators often targeted people recently released from rehab, signing them up for Medicaid services they had no intention of providing.

MN: Half of Islamic immigrants found to have committed Ilhan-style immigration fraud…

ABC 5 in Minnesota just aired a story that should be front-page news across the country, but of course, it’s barely making a ripple. Nearly half of all Islamic immigrants reviewed during a Department of Homeland Security sweep in Minnesota were found to have committed some form of fraud: immigration fraud, marriage fraud, tax fraud, loan fraud, bribery, forgery, perjury, bigamy, and even incest.

And yes, if this all sounds a little familiar, it’s because a certain Minnesota congresswoman has faced her own allegations of immigration fraud, too.

The rumors have been swirling for years now.

But Ilhan doesn’t seem the least bit bothered. She’s brushed all of it off, saying she doesn’t care; deport her if they want, she can live anywhere.

Minneapolis Dem Carjacked After Winning Election on ‘Restorative Justice’ Platform

Minneapolis City Councilman Jamal Osman was carjacked Monday night, just days after winning reelection on a platform that emphasized criminal justice reform and alternative responses to crime.

Police Chief Brian O’Hara confirmed the incident Tuesday, saying two juveniles — ages 15 and 16 — were arrested after stealing Osman’s car and crashing it shortly afterward.

According to police, the suspects approached Osman, threatened him with mace, and stole his vehicle.

The two teens then collided with several cars and a fire hydrant before fleeing on foot.

Officers later captured both suspects, who are being held pending charges.

Woman Exposes Massive Medicaid Fraud Scheme in Democrat-Run Minnesota

Medicaid’s collapse into waste and fraud hit home for Erna Hammerschmidt, exposing how career politicians built a system they can no longer control.

After overcoming years of addiction and rebuilding her life, Erna discovered that her name had been used to bill the government for services she never received.

A company she had never even met was charging taxpayers nearly $200 several times a week, claiming to have provided “mental health services.”

It is one of countless examples of how America’s welfare bureaucracy—especially under Democrat-led states such as Minnesota—has turned into a money pipeline for fraudsters.

The Minnesota Department of Human Services has been under fire for years for failing to detect and stop widespread Medicaid and housing assistance scams.

Under failing Governor Tim Walz, the department has wasted millions through weak oversight, political favoritism, and bloated contracts handed to “community care” groups that exist only on paper.

These programs were meant to help people like Erna, not exploit them.

But instead of accountability, taxpayers received excuses, “internal reviews,” and bureaucrats promising to “expand data analytics.” That means more consultants, more red tape, and no real results.

Donald Trump warned about this years ago. He is the only national leader with the courage to say what others were afraid to admit—the welfare bureaucracy in America is corrupt from top to bottom.

It is not a matter of a few “bad actors”; rather, it is a system designed to enrich politically connected insiders.

While Democrats in Minnesota pretend that fraud is a “racial issue,” as the owner of the company claimed, Trump’s message is clear: every dollar stolen from Medicaid is a dollar stolen from honest taxpayers and families who truly need help.

The Republican establishment deserves no credit either.

Minneapolis Mayoral Candidate Plans to Alert Illegal Aliens Ahead of ICE Raids

Minneapolis mayoral candidate Omar Fateh discussed a plan during a podcast interview involving coordination between city leadership and community-based organizations to ensure elected officials and neighborhood groups are informed before potential immigration enforcement activity.

Fateh, a Minnesota state senator and self-described democratic socialist now running for mayor of Minneapolis, said during a podcast interview:

We need to strengthen our separation ordinance. We need to have better communication between the mayor and the chief, and also the city council members, so that whenever we know something is coming down the pike, the city council is alerted immediately because they’re the connection point to the community, and they can articulate that and disseminate that information to folks.

We really have to work really hard to better work with some of those boots-on-the-ground organizations that I just spoke about right now that are already providing the “Know Your Rights” training, legal counseling, multilingual services. They’re the ones that are finding out a lot of times what’s happening on the ground.

Because the city cannot do it alone, and we need to lock arms not just cross-jurisdictionally but with these organizations as well, because things are scary, and it’s going to get scarier as well.

According to a mayor’s update from Jacob Frey, the separation ordinance is described as: “City employees — including police officers and firefighters — are prohibited from participating in civil immigration enforcement.”

Fateh is running on a platform that includes limiting police power, increasing non-police emergency response services, opposing cooperation between the Minneapolis Police Department and ICE, expanding funding for immigrant rights initiatives, and implementing carbon fees approved by the City Council. He previously supported legislation to provide taxpayer-funded college tuition to households earning under $80,000 per year, regardless of immigration status. He accused Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) of “white supremacy” for opposing taxpayer-funded tuition for illegal aliens, and labeled the U.S. policing system “systemically white supremacist.”

Breitbart News has also reported that Fateh opened his campaign office as a support hub during the 2020 George Floyd riots, returned thousands in campaign donations tied to the Feeding Our Future fraud scheme after donors were identified in FBI warrants, pushed Amazon on mandatory prayer breaks for Muslim workers, supported banning tear gas and rubber bullets, cast an “uncommitted” vote in Minnesota’s 2024 Super Tuesday primary over the Biden administration’s Israel policy, and advocated raising the Minneapolis minimum wage to $20 per hour by 2028.

Minnesota Cop Who Fabricated a Sex-Trafficking Ring Won’t Be Held Accountable

A police officer had a woman jailed for over two years on false charges in connection with a bogus sex-trafficking ring. But the officer, Heather Weyker, cannot be sued, because a court ruled in July that she was acting under color of federal law.

For years, Weyker, an officer in St. Paul,
Minnesota, gathered evidence, cultivated witnesses, and testified under oath in connection with an interstate sex-trafficking ring run by Somali refugees. She did all that while allegedly fabricating the very ring she was investigating. Her efforts resulted in 30 indictments, nine trials, and exactly zero convictions.

In 2011, Hamdi Mohamud, then just 16 years old, found herself arrested after a woman named Muna Abdulkadir attacked her and her friends at knifepoint. Inconveniently for Mohamud, Abdulkadir was crucial to Weyker’s bogus investigation.

After a call from Abdulkadir—during which she reportedly informed Weyker she had carried out a knife attack and was worried her arrest was imminent—Weyker advised other members of law enforcement
that Abdulkadir was a federal witness. She had information and documentation, Weyker noted, that Mohamud and her friends were out to intimidate Abdulkadir.

“The first part was true, but everything else Weyker said was false,” summarized
Judge David Stras for the U.S. Court of
Appeals for the 8th Circuit. “There was no ‘information’ or ‘documentation’ that anyone was trying to intimidate Abdulkadir. Nevertheless, based on what Weyker told him, Officer [Anthijuan] Beeks arrested Mohamud and the others for witness tampering.”

The government would dismiss those trumped-up charges, but only after Mohamud spent 25 months in custody.

Mohamud sued—and succeeded. A federal court in 2018 declined to give Weyker qualified immunity, finding it was already clearly established at the time of her arrest that Weyker’s alleged misconduct violated the Fourth Amendment.

Two years later, however, Mohamud’s luck soured on appeal. Though the 8th Circuit conceded that Weyker’s sex-trafficking investigation was “plagued with problems from the start” (the trial judge found, for example, that she fabricated information and lied multiple times under oath), the court said she was, in fact, immune.

That wasn’t because she was entitled to qualified immunity. Rather, although Weyker was a St. Paul police officer, she had been cross-deputized on a federal task force to carry out the investigation. That gave her the legal protections afforded to federal law enforcement—a much higher bar for alleged victims to clear.

Lawsuits against federal employees are subject to the Bivens doctrine. Named after the landmark 1971 Supreme Court case Bivens v. Six Unknown Named Agents of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics, the ruling allowed a man to sue the federal agents who conducted a warrantless raid on his home and then strip-searched him at a courthouse.

But the Supreme Court has made it almost cartoonishly difficult for plaintiffs to make use of their very good decision. In 2017, the Court ruled in Ziglar v. Abbasi that Bivens claims against federal agents can survive only if they clear a two-pronged test.
