Meet Bharat Ramamurti. He has never run a business, nor has he ever worked for one.
Yet he’s the top economic adviser for the Kamala Harris campaign, and a not-so-covert socialist ideologue who intends to cripple the American economy through ruthlessly “progressive” taxation.
He may have first appeared on your radar Wednesday afternoon after his appearance on CNBC, during which he advocated for the campaign’s 25 percent unrealized gains tax proposal.
The Biden-Harris White House looks determined to justify and normalize the practice of the government colluding with private companies, in this instance Big Tech, to censor speech.
After Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Monday sent a letter to the House Judiciary Committee, admitting that his company came under pressure from the current administration to conduct censorship and that he “believes” that was wrong – the White House doubled down on the controversial, and quite possibly, unconstitutional, policy.
In his letter, Zuckerberg chose to focus on Meta censoring content related to COVID-19, and in response, a White House spokesman revealed the government does not share Zuckerberg’s stance that the policy of pressure was wrong.
“Encouragement” is how that’s phrased. “When confronted with a deadly pandemic, this administration encouraged responsible actions to protect public health and safety,” stated the White House spokesman to media requests.
He further justified the actions described by Zuckerberg as needed because the White House believes private companies, including those from the tech industry, “should take into account the effects their actions have on the American people.”
And with the stage set in this way – the spokesman concluded that these companies are then free to make “independent choices about the information they present.”
But Zuckerberg’s letter to the Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan does a pretty good job of explaining how these “independent choices” get made. Senior figures from the Biden administration, Zuckerberg stated, in 2021 “repeatedly pressured our (Facebook, Instagram) teams for months to censor certain COVID-19 content, including humor and satire.”
The decision on content removal, and introduction of new rules into platform policies to facilitate censorship, Zuckerberg concedes, was “ultimately ours” – but made under pressure.
If Meta tried to defy these “suggestions” – the administration showed “a lot of frustration.”
Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris is being hailed as practically Joan of Arc for having been bused to a white elementary school in Berkeley in 1969. At the Democratic National Convention last week, Oprah Winfrey whooped that being bused helped instill in Harris “a passion for justice and freedom and the glorious fighting spirit necessary to pursue that passion.”
But what if school busing instead epitomizes the folly and dishonesty of iron-fisted progressive decrees that force other people to pay any price for a mirage of equality?
During her failed campaign for the 2020 presidential nomination, Harris’s touting of her busing experience was “perhaps the biggest moment of Harris’s [presidential] campaign,” the Washington Post reported on Sunday. The Harris campaign even sold t-shirts in 2019 hyping her confrontation with Joe Biden during a candidates debate on that issue. Harris declared that forced busing was necessary “because there are moments in history where states fail to preserve the civil rights of all people”—and thus the federal government must intervene. Harris championed Senate legislation to increase the federal push for school desegregation.
But busing in Berkeley actually illustrates the folly of letting politicians domineer kids and parents in the name of equality.
In 1967, the Berkeley school superintendent proposed a sweeping busing program to “set an example for all the cities of America.” The first step was effectively to scorn federal law. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 specified that “‘Desegregation’ means the assignment of students to public schools and within such schools without regard to their race, color, religion, or national origin, but ‘desegregation’ shall not mean the assignment of students to public schools in order to overcome racial imbalance.” There was no history of government-mandated segregation in Berkeley. But politicians decided they could no longer tolerate black children going to school in black neighborhoods and white children going to school in white neighborhoods. Busing kids far from their homes destroyed neighborhood schools in the name of equality and made it far more difficult for parents to be involved in their kids’ education.
More than 50 years after Berkeley started busing, the city’s schools have the worst racial achievement gaps in America, except for those of the District of Columbia. Black students are on average five years behind white students despite endless special programs and interventions to close the gap. Five years is not “close enough for government educational work.”
Leftist presidential candidate Cornel West has claimed that Kamala Harris attempted to bribe him to drop out of the race, even going as far as offering him a job in her administration and a promise of paying off his campaign debts.
In an interview with independent journalist Jordan Chariton on the Status Coup News podcast, West made a series of shocking accusations following the close of last week’s Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

It’s hard to imagine. The Times on Friday posted a hit on Kamala Harris titled, “Joy is Not a Strategy.”
Then, on Monday, The NY Times published an op-ed titled, “Trump Can win on character,” something that must have made the leftist elites vomit in their mouths.
It didn’t take long for the happy boost from the fantasy convention to flatline. On Monday night, former Biden spox Jen Psaki faced a harsh reality when Don Lemon told her that “no one” knows who Kamala Harris is in the swing states he visited last week.
Maybe that’s good news, though? The more people learn about Kamala, the less they like her.
Ionce had a boss who was filled with big ideas. I quickly learned he was full of something else. He was eternally on the verge of landing the next lucrative deal that would save the company and make everyone rich. He delivered empty promises. Lies.
But to this day I can’t decide whether he was just a run-of-the-mill, big-talking BSer or a malignant narcissist telling people what they want to hear to serve selfish purposes, buying time with the next lie.
Pathological gamblers think that way.
Tim Walz is a “lying dog-faced pony soldier,” as Democratic Party-deposed President Joe Biden — a world-class liar in his own right — would say. Walz, the Marxist Minnesota governor who finds himself in the white-hot national spotlight as Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate on the Dem presidential ticket, can’t even keep the “soldier” part of his story straight. His impressive resume of public lies has always seemed to be for the furtherance of power.
What stands out most from the 2024 Democratic National Convention is not what was said, but rather what was left unsaid.
Take the 2020 DNC—a year everyone wishes to forget, certainly, but one that the Democrats in particular are keen to strike as far from the history books and the minds of the American people as can reasonably be done. The first day of that convention opened with Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser discussing how she created Black Lives Matter Plaza as a place for America to work through its racial reckoning. The keynote speaker, Michelle Obama, deplored the circumstances of the nation and its leadership.
“Here at home,” she intoned, “as George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and a never-ending list of innocent people of color continue to be murdered, stating the simple fact that a black life matters is still met with derision from the nation’s highest office.”
The remainder of the convention was chock-full of activist grievances against American society. A litany of accusations tripped off the tongues of speakers. Americans were guilty of “COVID-19, structural racism, police violence against black bodies, violence against members of the trans community.”
A certain Kamala Harris, then candidate for vice president, took the time to explain to Americans how the course of the COVID-19 pandemic was both a punishment for and illustration of their many sins. The virus, she said, “is not an equal opportunity offender: black, Latino, and indigenous people are suffering and dying disproportionately.”
The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022, championed by Democrats, promised to fix our economy with incentives like a 30% tax credit for energy-efficient appliances, solar panels, and windows. But these solutions come with sky-high upfront costs that average American families can’t afford.
Instead of addressing inflation, this bill benefits the wealthy, who can use these credits, while ordinary households face tighter budgets. Rather than easing financial pressure, this legislation represents costly government overreach that fails to deliver real relief.
Despite the Inflation Reduction Act’s promises, inflation has remained a significant issue. In July 2023, consumer prices increased by 3.2% compared to July 2022. Although inflation showed signs of slowing down, with a 2.9% increase from July 2023, the rate remains below its peak of 9.1% from June 2022. Overall, it’s clear the Act hasn’t quite done the job it was supposed to.
Kamala Harris has played a key role in advocating for the Inflation Reduction Act, promising that the legislation would combat rising inflation and ease financial burdens on American families. Despite these assurances, the Act has not delivered the expected results.
While this year’s Republican Party platform makes only a passing reference to Second Amendment rights, the platform approved at the Democratic National Convention this week does not mention them at all. But it does include eight references to “gun safety” and a section that brags about the Biden administration’s accomplishments in this area while laying out an agenda of additional firearm restrictions.
That treatment of this subject is similar to the approach that Democrats took in 2016, when their platform mentioned “the rights of responsible gun owners” but did not elucidate the basis of those rights, and in 2020, when the platform did not go even that far. The 2016 platform devoted a paragraph to gun control, which became two paragraphs in 2020 and has now expanded to five. Neither of the two most recent platforms so much as alludes to respect for gun rights.
By contrast, Democrats in 2000 promised to “respect the rights of hunters, sportsmen, and legitimate gun owners.” Four years later, after the gun issue, including Al Gore’s support for banning “assault weapons,” was widely blamed for contributing to George W. Bush’s election, Democrats promised to “protect Americans’ Second Amendment right to own firearms.” The 2008 and 2012 platforms included similar language, in both cases explicitly invoking the Second Amendment, which disappeared in the 2016 platform and now does not even seem like a dim memory for Democrats.
Whatever you make of former President Donald Trump’s evolution on gun rights, which seems to reflect political expendience rather than true conviction, he at least understands the importance of paying lip service to the Second Amendment. The current Democratic Party, by contrast, is intent on pushing gun control without acknowledging any constitutional limits on it.
“When I’m back in the Oval Office, no one will lay a finger on your firearms,” Trump promised at the National Rifle Association’s Great American Outdoor Show Presidential Forum in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on February 9. “It’s not going to happen….Even as they turn America into a crime-ridden, gang-infested, terror-filled dumping ground, Joe Biden and his thugs will do everything in their power to confiscate your guns and annihilate your God-given right to self-defense. During my four years, nothing happened. And there was great pressure on me having to do with guns. We did nothing. We didn’t yield.”
In their platform, the Democrats quote those last four sentences, which they consider damning: “While he ‘did nothing,’ gun violence spiked: Trump oversaw the largest single-year increase in murders in history, including a 35 percent increase in gun murders. He refused to limit the use of high-capacity magazines after a Las Vegas shooter used a dozen 100-round magazines to kill 58 people. And, when confronted with horrific gun violence, he told families to ‘get over it.'”
Democrats are in damage control mode after Kamala Harris’ communist price control scheme received a harsh rebuke – including from the Washington Post, which characterized it as “populist gimmicks.“
Facing pressure to defend the plan, Democratic lawmakers are downplaying it as a pipe dream that has no chance of passing Congress, Politico reports.
The plan, unveiled as part of Harris’ first big economic policy speech, has become a focal talking point for Donald Trump and allies, who continue to frame it as “communist price controls.” Meanwhile, food industry officials and some left-of-center economists have warned that price controls could be detrimental, according to the report.
Central to the plan is a call for congress to pass the first-ever federal price gouging ban on food and grocery stores – mirroring legislation reintroduced by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) earlier this year, for which Warren was taken to task by CNBC‘s Joe Kernen.
Now, six Congressional Democrats and five Democratic aides tell Politico that they’ve been privately telling critics that the plan isn’t viable – and is instead a messaging tactic to to divert blame over inflation from the Biden-Harris administration.
Even many Democrats remain skeptical, or at least uncertain about how Harris would carry out her proposal, if elected. They’re still working on getting details, but many have left that for after the DNC. -Politico

“I honestly still don’t know how this would work,” said a second Democratic lawmaker.
