Woke reporter denies there are riots and looting in LA while chaos unfolds behind him

A local TV reporter in Los Angeles questioned whether the city’s violent unrest qualified as rioting – even as a fire burned behind him live on the air.

ABC7 reporter Tim Caputo insisted that the ‘vast majority’ of protestors involved in the demonstrations were ‘people taking videos [and] people waving flags’ during his one-the-ground report.

He made the remarks as black smoke billowed into the air behind him and a loud explosion could be heard in the distance.

During the segment, ABC7 anchor Jory Rand asked whether those responsible for torching five vehicles were ‘a group that splintered off,’ ‘mak[ing] it look like it’s a lot worse than the situation actually playing out on the ground.’

‘That’s the quintessential question when you have rallies, demonstrations, riots, if you will,’ Caputo replied.

‘I wouldn’t go as far to call it that. I know president Trump had tweeted about riots and looting – I don’t know that I would characterize it that way.’

As the broadcast showed aerial images of cars on fire, Caputo directed his cameraman away from rising smoke.

‘From what we’ve seen… the vast majority are people taking videos, people waving flags, people walking around, people wanting to be part of the cause, wanting to have their voices heard, and wanting to show the power of numbers and the power of force,’ the reporter said.

Senator John Kennedy Humiliates Far-Left Ivy League Law Professor After Catching Her in a Huge Lie During Fiery Debate on Nationwide Injunctions

Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) is famous in the U.S. Senate for his incisive wit and dry sense of humor. He has displayed these talents during his time as an elected official, whether by stumping unqualified Biden nominees or in interviews with reporters.

He delivered once again on Tuesday as he completely exposed and humiliated a far-left Ivy League law professor during a fiery debate on nationwide injunctions. As TGP readers know, activist judges around the country have subverted the U.S. Constitution for months for the sole purpose of sabotaging President Trump’s agenda.

University of Pennsylvania law professor Kate Shaw, the wife of radical-left MSNBC host Chris Hayes, spoke during a Senate Judiciary subcommittee hearing titled “The Supposedly ‘Least Dangerous Branch’: District Judges v. Trump” to gaslight the senators on the subject and tried to play dumb at various points when questioned.

But Kennedy refused to let Shaw spin her way through the hearing. Beginning with a question about nationwide injunctions being abused, Kennedy immediately exposed Shaw’s hypocrisy.

WICKED: Far-Left Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs Gaslights Her Constituents as She Vetoes a Commonsense Bill Requiring Her to Follow Federal Immigration Laws

One of the most left-wing and wicked governors in America has decided she wants her state to remain a haven for criminal aliens.

Democrat Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, who ‘won’ her election under questionable circumstances, yesterday vetoed a commonsense bill passed by the Arizona State Legislature that would have required her to help follow federal immigration laws.

The bill in question, House Bill 2099, would have mandated the governor, attorney general, and every county, city, and town in Arizona to enforce and cooperate with all immigration orders, actions, and programs from the federal government.

Here is what Hobbs wrote in her veto message:

Today, I vetoed House Bill 2099. When I assumed the role of Governor, I pledged to uphold both the U.S. Constitution and the Arizona Constitution,” she wrote in her veto message.

I have worked productively with the federal government to secure our border, stopping fentanyl at our ports of entry through Task Force SAFE, disrupting cartel operations with Operation Desert Guardian, and working across all levels of government to keep communities safe with the Border Coordination Office.

I will continue to work with the federal government on true border security, but we should not force state officials to take marching orders from Washington, DC. My focus will always be on delivering real results for Arizonans.

Do We All Have PTSD?

Just how much mental and psychological trauma exists in the country and world today cannot be quantified, and I would not trust any studies that tried. But this much is clear. We have lost our footing in knowing something that scientists long believed we could know: whether and to what extent an economy is growing and prospering or going the opposite way.

Everyone seems just to be winging it these days. Ever since lockdowns utterly broke reporting, it’s been hard to tell up from down.

The substantial hits taken by major financial indexes over the last two months seem to have triggered a shift in public sentiment from indifferent to gloomy. Probably this has nothing to do with the vast wealth held in invested retirement accounts.

Each refresh of the page seems to deliver more bad news.

This has in turn affected the willingness to spend and the outlook generally.

And yet there is something strange going on.

Inflation in real time is genuinely down from its 4-year trend and showing the best numbers since 2020. Even the CPI reflects this. The jobs outlook for the private sector is slightly improving.

Why has consumer sentiment suddenly taken a dive?

It’s odd because there is a paucity of evidence for a sudden shift, unless tariffs are to blame, which seems doubtful (to me).

One possible theory: the public has a form of economic post-traumatic stress disorder, a clinical name for what was once called battle fatigue and shell shock. It is what happens to the human spirit in the face of something unexpected, terrible, and ultimately traumatizing. There are stages of recovery that move from denial, anger, bargaining, and depression, with acceptance as the last stage.

That might be where we are. For years now, the national media and government agencies have claimed that all is well. Inflation is cooling. Job growth is strong. The recovery is upon us. Countless media articles have bemoaned the gap that separates real data and maudlin public perceptions. We are encouraged to believe that “shutting down the economy” is really no big deal, just something you do before turning it on again.

Stop complaining! You are rich!

It was the ultimate in economic gaslighting, something about which many of us have been kvetching for five years now.

Government Gaslights People About the Economy

Public opinion polls consistently show the economy is one of the top issues, if not the top issue, for American voters. This may strike some as odd, since official government statistics show low unemployment and declining price inflation, suggesting the Federal Reserve has engineered a “soft landing” bringing down inflation without causing a recession. So why the concern over the economy? One reason is more people are realizing government economic figures hide the truth about the economy.M

“Recession Since 2022: US Economic Income and Output Have Fallen Overall for Four Years” is a Brownstone Institute research paper by Dr. E.J. Antoni, a research fellow at the Heritage Foundation, and Dr. Peter St. Onge, a fellow with the Mises Institute. It details how the federal government understates inflation, while making wages, profits, and economic growth appear stronger.

Dr. Antoni and Dr. St. Onge use a more accurate measure of inflation than that used by government to uncover the true state of the economy. Their calculations show that the US economy has been in recession since 2022. The government claims that Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by approximately 13.7 percent from 2019 through the first half of 2024. When the more accurate inflation number is used, the result is a 2.5 percent decline in GDP.

The federal government’s figures also show the American people’s disposable income increased by 12.9 percent from 2019 through the first half of 2024. However, when the more accurate way of calculating price inflation is used, it shows Americans’ disposable income declined by 2.3 percent. Dr. Antoni and Dr. St. Onge are hardly the first to expose how the government uses doctored statistics to make the economy look stronger. John Williams’s ShadowStats has regularly shown how government manipulates data to underreport unemployment and price inflation.

The Left Is Gaslighting America With Its Double Standards On Violent Rhetoric

Political violence has long been a part of American life, but recent events, including a second attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, have ignited a debate over the role of rhetoric in encouraging such violence.

It should be clear to anyone who has been paying attention since Trump announced his candidacy for president back in 2015 that the left’s consistent use of incendiary language (framing him as a Russian agent, as literally Hitler, and as an existential threat to America and democracy) doesn’t just dehumanize him. It also fosters a volatile climate where political violence against him and his supporters becomes justifiable — especially to individuals who increasingly see themselves as “defenders of democracy” or “anti-fascists.”

The left, however, doesn’t see it that way. In fact, even after a second assassination attempt, Democrats and the media still believe it is not their rhetoric that is to blame for the attempts on Trump’s life, but rather Trump himself.

Hours after the second assassination attempt was reported, “Nightly News” anchor Lester Holt went on the air and stated: “Today’s apparent assassination attempt comes amid increasingly fierce rhetoric on the campaign trail itself. Mr. Trump, his running mate, J.D. Vance, continue to make baseless claims about Haitian immigrants in [Springfield,] Ohio. This weekend, there were new bomb threats in that town.”

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre joined in, once again calling Trump a “threat.” In response, Fox News Senior White House Correspondent Peter Doocy asked Jean-Pierre, “How many more assassination attempts on Donald Trump until the president and vice president and you pick a different word to describe Trump, other than ‘threat?’”

Jean-Pierre proceeded to attempt to gaslight all those on the right with similar concerns. “The question that you’re asking … is also incredibly dangerous in the way that you’re asking it,” said Jean-Pierre, “because American people are watching … Because it — your question involved a comment and a statement — and, you know, it is — that is also incredibly dangerous when we have been very clear in — in condemning political violence from here.”

In other words, to the left, repeatedly lying and calling Trump an existential threat to America is not dangerous, regardless of the number of attempts on Trump’s life. The real danger only arises when someone questions whether those on the left should stop lying about Trump and moderate their rhetoric.

Of course, this framing does not apply to those on the right when they legitimately express concern over the chaos caused by a massive influx of 20,000 Haitian immigrants into Springfield, Ohio. It is then, as Lester Holt alluded, that words magically become violence once again, even when no one is directly targeting Haitian immigrants, and, as Gov. Mike DeWine noted in a Sept. 16 press conference, all 33 separate bomb threats received at that time had turned out to be hoaxes, with many coming from overseas.

Inside the plot to gaslight Americans about Kamala and re-write her story… and it starts with insisting she was never ‘Border Czar’ or the ‘most liberal’ Senator

Vice President Kamala Harris and her team plan to refute that she was ever in charge of the migration crisis at the southern border.

It comes as Republicans are set to make Harris’ role as Joe Biden‘s ‘border czar’ one of their main points of attack in her battle for the White House with Donald Trump.

As Democratic strategists try to reinvent Harris’ record for the campaign a government transparency organization also deleted a webpage which had declared her the most liberal Democrat in the Senate .

Immigration and the border was Harris’ first big task as vice president and House Republicans on Thursday passed a resolution condemning her leadership on the issue.

In March 2021, President Joe Biden and his administration were already struggling with an escalating immigration crisis.

Migrants were pouring across the southern border, detention centers filled up with unaccompanied minors, and stories about ‘kids in cages’ began filtering into the public consciousness.

Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary at the time, repeatedly insisted that it was ‘not a crisis’.

Republicans hammered Biden’s lack of enforcement, demanding that the president take the issue seriously and visit the border.

The White House felt it necessary to do something, some kind of sign to the public and the media that the president was tackling the problem.

To stave off criticism Team Biden offered up Vice President Kamala Harris as the solution.

The president and vice president stood together in the State Dining Room of the White House as Biden announced his intention to put Harris in charge of the migrant crisis.

Her chief goal, Biden stated, was to lead the diplomatic effort with Mexico and Central American countries to address the ‘root causes’ of migration.

‘I can think of nobody who — who is better qualified to do this,’ Biden said, citing Harris’ record as a California Attorney General.

It was not an unfamiliar task, Biden noted, recalling that as vice president, he had stepped up for President Barack Obama to work with leaders to stem migration on the southern border.

We were ‘deceived and gaslit for years’, all in the name of ‘democracy’; then ‘poof’, it collapsed overnight

The Editor at Large for the Wall Street Journal, Gerry Baker, says: ‘We’ve been “gaslit’ and deceived” – for years – “all in the name of ‘democracy’”. That deceit “collapsed” with the Presidential debate, Thursday’.

Until the world saw the truth … [against] the ‘misinformation’ … the fiction of Mr. Biden’s competence … suggests they [the Democrats] evidently thought they could get away with promoting it. [Yet] by perpetuating that fiction they were also revealing their contempt for the voters and for democracy itself.

Baker continues:

Biden succeeded because he made toeing the party line his life’s work. Like all politicians whose egos dwarf their talents, he ascended the greasy pole by slavishly following his party wherever it led … Finally—in the ultimate act of partisan servility, he became Barack Obama’s vice president, the summit of achievement for those incapable, yet loyal: the apex position for the consummate ‘yes man’.

But then, just as he was ready to drift into a comfortable and well-deserved obscurity, his party needed a front man … They sought a loyal and reliable figurehead, a flag of convenience, under which they could sail the progressive vessel into the deepest reaches of American life — on a mission to advance statism, climate extremism, and self-lacerating wokery. There was no more loyal and convenient vehicle than Joe.

If so, then who actually has been ‘pulling America’s strings’ these past years?

‘You [the Democratic machine] don’t get to deceive, dissemble and gaslight us for years about how this man was both brilliantly competent at the job and a healing force for national unity – and now tell us, when your deception is uncovered, that it’s ‘bedtime for Bonzo’ – thanks for your service, and let’s move on’, Baker warns.

[Now] it is going horribly wrong. Much of his party has no use for him anymore … in a remarkably cynical act of bait-and-switch, [they are trying to] swap him out for someone more useful to their cause. Part of me thinks they shouldn’t be allowed to get away with it. I find myself in the odd position of wanting to root for poor mumbling Joe … It’s tempting to say to the Democratic machine frantically mobilizing against him: You don’t get to do this. You don’t get to deceive, dissemble and gaslight us for years.

Something significant has snapped within ‘the system’. It is always tempting to situate such events in ‘immediate time’, but even Baker seems to allude to a longer cycle of gaslighting and deception – one that only now has suddenly burst into open view.

Such events – though seemingly ephemeral and of the moment – can be portents to deeper structural contradictions moving.

Karine Jean-Pierre doubles down on awkward videos of Biden being ‘cheap fakes’ and insists clips are ‘disinformation’ from conservatives

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre continues to say President Biden is being miscast by videos she calls ‘cheap fakes’ after repeated videos of him being guided by other leaders or briefly ‘freezing’ on stage.

She hammered the media and blamed Republicans for attacks she called ‘misinformation.’ She did not repeat the use of another term – ‘deepfakes’ – that she used at her Monday White House briefing.

That is a form of digital altering of video an images, which the White House and Biden backers have not established took place with video from him at the G7 in Italy, at a White House Juneteenth event, or at an LA fundraiser.

‘It’s also very insulting to the folks, the viewers who are watching it. And so we believe we have to call that out. We’ve been calling it cheap fakes. That is something that came directly from the media outlets in calling it that, the fact-checkers and calling it that. And so we’re certainly going to be really, really clear about that as well. And calling it out from where we are, from where we stand,’ she said.

Then she specifically took on some of the Biden incidents that have drawn notice – including one of him walking away from a group of world leaders at the G7 in Italy, only to be guided back to a photo-op by Italian PM Giorgia Meloni.

‘I think there is so much misinformation, disinformation as we’ve been talking about. You talked about the video of the president wandering. And it’s not true. Right? The president wasn’t wandering. He was talking to a parachuter that was right in front of him. And what you saw is the Republican Party really manipulating what was being said and what was being seen by the American people,’ she said.

On Monday at her White House press briefing, Jean-Pierre told DailyMail.com that former President Barack Obama‘s decision to guide Biden after a big bucks fundraiser was a function of their longstanding relationship.
