D.C. Construction Is A Problem For Regular People. Democrats Said Nothing Until The East Wing Was Touched

It’s so on brand for Democrats and the dying news media to insist everyone suddenly pay attention to a thing that has no bearing on ordinary Americans, while at the same time ignoring a very similar thing that actually does.

For anyone who hasn’t heard, it’s apparently a national crisis that President Trump is revamping portions of the White House, most notably an entire reconstruction of the East Wing into an immense ballroom and event area. CNN and MSNBC are practically running 24-7 coverage of the project and are very fond of repeating the word “demolition,” as are The New York Times and Washington Post.

“Trump Is Demolishing the Entire East Wing.” — Times

“Stephen Colbert Tears Into the White House Demolition.” — Times

“Why the demolition of the East Wing is so shocking.” — Post

“Trump defends East Wing demolition, raises ballroom price to $300 million.” — Post

Whether any of these people are seriously distraught over a government building’s renovation is beside the point. More important is that once again, they’re showing how manifestly uninterested they are in problems regular people face every day, while obsessing over an issue when it’s something that directly affects their own decadent lifestyles.

Washington, D.C., where I lived for 15 years, is a place that’s constantly under disruptive construction — the roads, the buildings, the parks, the museums, the monuments, and, most grating of all, the Metro subway system. It’s impossible to pick one side of a walkway to commute anywhere in town, because you will inevitably run into a blocked path, steering you to the other side due to construction. It’s not uncommon to have to switch sides multiple times for that reason.

To ride the Metro is to see constant reminders: “Maintenance scheduled — expect delays.” In the time I lived in D.C., there would be periods of months where entire lines of the system were shut down, obstructing and frustrating the work commutes for thousands of locals.

When have you ever heard a Democrat or cable news anchor or anyone at the Washington Post raise the level of concern over that kind of “demolition” the way they are now over a section of the White House? Nobody outside of the lawn gates will even notice it’s happening without volunteering to go and look.

The irony in this stupid outrage is that beginning a major construction project in D.C. might be the most normal thing Trump has done since the start of his second term. The city is nothing if not a perpetual nightmare of hammering and drilling. I’d take offense if it meant shutting down major roadways through the city or a(nother) reduction in service on the Metro, but it doesn’t.

DNC Chair: ‘May Be Nearing’ Moment Where ‘Elections Don’t Matter’ and ‘Resistance Looks Completely Different’

On Thursday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “The Beat,” DNC Chair Ken Martin stated that the Democratic Party’s job right now is to win elections, and if “we are truly in a dictatorship and an authoritarian regime here has completely shredded the Constitution, then party doesn’t matter, and then elections don’t matter and then the resistance looks completely different” “and we may be nearing” that moment, but for now, their job is winning elections.

Martin said, “[L]et me say to you, what is the role of the Democratic Party in this moment? Our job is to win, to win elections. That is our role. That is our responsibility, and where I have to put my attention and focus, Jason, is on those pieces.”

He added, “If we reach that break the glass moment when all of our democratic institutions have failed us, right? And we are truly in a dictatorship and an authoritarian regime here has completely shredded the Constitution, then party doesn’t matter, and then elections don’t matter and then the resistance looks completely different. But until we reach that moment, and we may be nearing it, Jason, don’t get me wrong, the role of the Democratic Party is singular, to win elections, to recruit candidates in every election up and down the ballot throughout the country, to build power back so we can actually stop this guy.”

Biden Judge Gives Letitia James Her First Win

A Biden-appointed judge gave Letitia James her first win on Friday.

Corrupt New York Attorney General Letitia James was arraigned in court in Norfolk, Virginia, on Friday morning.

Letitia James’ federal criminal case was assigned to US District Judge Jamar Walker, a Biden appointee.

Jamar Walker was appointed by Joe Biden in 2023.

James was indicted by a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia earlier this month.

According to the DOJ, Letitia James was charged with two crimes: Bank Fraud under 18 U.S.C. Section 1344 and False Statements to a Financial Institution under 18 U.S.C. Section 1014.

The charges are related to a mortgage loan on a property James owns in Norfolk, Virginia, referred to as “the Perrone Property.”

According to the indictment, James was to use the property as her secondary residence and prohibited its use as a timesharing or other shared ownership arrangement or agreement that requires her either to rent the property or give any other person any control over the occupancy or use of the property.

Letitia James treated her Perrone property like an investment property on her Schedule E form and paid taxes on the rental income, further contradicting her claims of secondary residence.

“If convicted, Letitia James faces penalties including up to 30 years in prison per count, up to a $1 million fine on each count, and forfeiture,” the DOJ said.

On Friday Letitia James filed a motion to dismiss the federal indictment arguing that US Attorney Lindsey Halligan’s appointment as interim US Attorney is in violation of the Appointments Clause of the United States Constitution.

“Attorney General Letitia A. James, by and through undersigned counsel, pursuant to Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 12(b) moves this Court to dismiss the Government’s indictment because purported interim U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan had no authority to bring the charges in this case. As explained further below, Ms. Halligan’s purported appointment as interim U.S. Attorney was invalid under 28 U.S.C § 546 and in violation of the Appointments Clause of the United States Constitution,” James’s attorney argued in a motion reviewed by The Gateway Pundit.

James also asked Judge Jamar Walker to consolidate her motion challenging the appointment of Halligan with James Comey’s motion in a separate case.

Recall that fired FBI Director James Comey also filed a motion to disqualify Lindsey Halligan after he was indicted by a grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia.

On Tuesday, the Chief Judge of the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals ordered Comey’s motion challenging Halligan to be transferred to Judge Cameron McGowan Currie, a Clinton appointee.

On Friday, Judge Jamar Walker granted Letitia James’ request to consolidate her motion with Comey’s similar motion so the Clinton judge can decide whether Lindsey Halligan will be disqualified in both cases.

The fix is in.

Schumer Takes Public Stab At Sanders As Democrats Descend Into Chaotic Political Scuffle

Democrats are already eating their own in Maine — and the Senate race hasn’t even started.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer threw gasoline on an already fiery primary Tuesday by endorsing Gov. Janet Mills for Senate — a move that instantly put him at odds with Bernie Sanders and the party’s progressive base.

“We think that Janet Mills is the best candidate to retire Susan Collins,” Schumer said at a press conference. “She’s a tested two-term governor and the people of Maine have an enormous amount of affection and respect for her.”

But Schumer’s safe, establishment pick enraged the left. Sanders — who’s been boosting populist underdog Graham Platner, a Marine veteran turned oyster farmer — has already blasted party leaders for “wasting millions on an unnecessary & divisive primary.”

Platner, who’s drawn heavy progressive support and hauled in over $3.2 million by the end of September, didn’t mince words either. His campaign torched Schumer’s move as “the establishment backing the establishment,” vowing their guy would win “because he has Mainers behind him.”

The Democratic civil war couldn’t be clearer: Schumer wants the polished, 77-year-old governor who’s led Maine for two terms. Sanders wants the scrappy outsider who calls out the Washington elite — even if his past social media posts have become a political minefield.

Platner has been scrambling to explain a string of crude Reddit comments unearthed by CNN and The Washington Post — including one where he used a slur for the disabled, called himself a “communist,” said “all” cops are “bastards,” and downplayed sexual assault in the military.

Platner’s scandals worsened this week when he revealed he has a tattoo resembling an alleged Nazi symbol.

In a video posted to X, Platner blamed the remarks on his battle with PTSD and insisted the people of Maine know “this is not at all the person that they have come to know, and come to interact with in reality.”

The controversy didn’t stop Sanders from sticking by him, calling Platner “a great working-class candidate.” But Schumer clearly wants none of it — betting that Mills is the Democrats’ best shot at unseating Republican Sen. Susan Collins, who’s gunning for a sixth term.

Anti-Capitalism Progs Are Raking in the Money on the Dem Side

While I can’t speak to what goes on in other countries, I do know that there are a lot of people in the United States who hate capitalism yet somehow seem to be swimming in money. Most of Academia fits that description. Heck, a good portion of the kajillionaires in the entertainment industry kvetch about capitalism while taking quick trips to the French Riviera after they’ve had a bad weekend.

As we are all painfully aware, the Democrats are finally openly embracing the socialism that they’ve had incubating in their dark little hearts for a long time. The ascendant progressive Left is decidedly anti-capitalism, loudly railing against the evil rich whenever they can. They’re also killing it when it comes to the money that’s flowing into the Democratic Party these days.

We’ve read a lot lately about fundraising struggles among the Dems, but they’re not all struggling. This is from Rick:

“The Democratic National Committee has raised $99 million so far this year, not even close to the hundreds of millions of dollars it has been accustomed to raising in recent years,” writes The Free Press’s Gabe Kaminsky.

It’s not just the DNC that’s being shunned. Democratic Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, the second-ranking Democrat in government, raised just $134,000 during the same reporting period.

Meanwhile, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) raised $4.4 million between July 1 and Sept. 30. According to the most recent Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings, her cash on hand now totals $11.8 million. That cash is going to come in handy when she challenges Schumer for his Senate seat in 2026.

That would be the same Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who’s been out traipsing about the country with commie Bernie Sanders on the “Fight Oligarchy” tour. It would appear that Squeaky won.

Rick reports that other progs are raking it in as well, including Jasmine “F-Bomb” Crockett, the country day academy-educated chick who’s totally down with the struggle. The radical “We Hate the Rich” kids over in Dem Land seem to know an awful lot of rich people. AOC didn’t amass an almost $12 million war chest by getting three-dollar donations from constituents in her Congressional district.

Former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot Announces Plan to ‘Unmask’ ICE Agents

Former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is spearheading a project to reveal the names and locations of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers while pro-migration activists are trying to block pro-American law enforcement.

The ex-mayor, who in 2023 became the first Democrat mayor to lose a re-election bid in 40 years, announced the launch of “The ICE Accountability Project,” WFLD-TV reported.

The deposed mayor claimed that the new effort will “unmask” ICE agents so the public can know their identities and track their whereabouts.

“They are on public property out in the open,” she insisted. “We have an absolute right under our constitution to document what’s happening.”

“We want to create a centralized archive of all the purported criminal actions of ICE and CBP agents,” Lightfoot explained. “We want to create a portal where what’s happening in real time can be centralized and put out for the public to view.”

The ex-mayor said she wants her tracking information to be used to take ICE agents to court on an individual basis and to stop the Trump administration from rounding up and deporting criminal illegal aliens.

Lightfoot is far from the only Democrat looking to dox ICE agents and putting federal law enforcement officials in more danger.

As Breitbart News reported, Democrats in Los Angeles, California, are also threatening to launch an online tracker of ICE activity to help left-wing activists more quickly interfere in immigration raids, arrests, and other essential enforcement actions.

Jack Smith Starts Getting Nervous — Demands Chance to Testify Against ‘Mischaracterizations’ of His Trump Prosecutions

Jack Smith, who led the attempts to prosecute and imprison President Trump in the run-up to the 2024 election over his efforts to challenge the voter fraud that took place in the 2020 presidential election, said he wants to appear “in open hearings” to share his side of the story.

In a letter from his attorneys, he pledged to address the “numerous mischaracterizations” surrounding his investigations, which were designed to prevent Trump from taking back the presidency.

The letter, sent by Smith’s lawyers and obtained by CNN, states:

We have received Chairman Jordan’s October 14, 2025, letter and are aware of Chairman Grassley’s interest in testimony from our client, Jack Smith.

Given the many mischaracterizationsof Mr. Smith’s investigation into President Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified document sand role in attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 election, Mr. Smith respectfully requests the opportunity to testify in open hearings before the House and Senate Judiciary Committees.

During the investigation of President Trump, Mr. Smith steadfastly adhered to establishedlegal standards and Department of Justice guidelines, consistent with his approach throughouthis career as a dedicated public servant.

He is prepared to answer questions about the Special Counsel’s investigation and prosecution, but requires assurance from the Department of Justicethat he will not be punished for doing so.

To that end, Mr. Smith needs guidance from theDepartment of Justice regarding federal grand jury secrecy requirements and authorization onthe matters he may speak to regarding, among other things, Volume II of the Final Report of theSpecial Counsel, which is not publicly available.

In addition, to provide full and accurate answersto your questions, Mr. Smith requires access to the Special Counsel files, which he no longer no longer has the ability to access.

Just last week, Senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee referred Smith to the Department of Justice for criminal investigation and possible disbarment over “deeply disturbing revelations” that he illegally obtained Senate Republicans’ call logs.

Deep State Prosecutors in Maryland Claim DOJ Doesn’t Have Strong Enough Case to Charge Adam Schiff with Mortgage Fraud in Latest Leak to Media – Todd Blanche Responds!

Deep State prosecutors in Maryland are defending Adam Schiff amid an investigation into his mortgage fraud.

Democrat Senator Adam Schiff (CA) is under investigation for mortgage fraud, specifically occupancy fraud.

The Gateway Pundit’s Joe Hoft was first to report on Schiff’s mortgage fraud back in April 2023.

Fox News’ Laura Ingraham over the summer exclusively reported that the US Attorney’s Office in Maryland is investigating Schiff for possible charges involving mortgage fraud.

In 2000 Schiff was elected to Congress and has served as a US House member from the state of California ever since. Schiff reportedly purchased a home in Maryland with his wife in 2003 stating they would occupy this home for 12 consecutive months as their “primary residence”. Despite this claim, Schiff continued to vote in California.

Schiff refinanced his home in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013 claiming the Maryland home was his primary residence. In 2009, a House Ethics investigation claimed that Schiff did this and Schiff claimed it was an error and he repaid the exempt taxes to the state of Maryland.

Maryland prosecutors are now defending Schiff by anonymously leaking to the media and claiming that there is no evidence to charge the Democrat Senator with crimes.

Over the summer, President Trump called for Adam Schiff to be prosecuted and dropped receipts on the Democrat Senator’s mortgage fraud.

“Adam Schiff is a THIEF! He should be prosecuted, just like they tried to prosecute me, and everyone else — The only difference is, WE WERE TOTALLY INNOCENT, IT WAS ALL A GIANT HOAX!” President Trump said on Truth Social.

Failed Democrat Candidate Is Accused of Stealing Georgia Power Trade Secrets

A Democrat former Public Service Commission (PSC) candidate was accused Tuesday of stealing trade secrets from Georgia Power.

Patty Durand was arrested and charged with felony theft, Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) reported Wednesday.

A hearing was held regarding “Georgia Power’s request to add two Plant Vogtles’ worth of new power, mostly for data centers,” the outlet said, adding that Durand opposes such centers and rate hikes and operates the watchdog group known as Georgia Utility Watch.

Video footage taken the day of the hearing allegedly shows Durand, in a brown jacket, walk up to a desk and pick up a booklet. However, she puts it back down and moves to the other end of the room.

Moments later, Durand approaches another desk and appears to pick up another booklet before allegedly placing it inside her bag and leaving the room.

The GPB article said:

Durand criticized the lack of transparency in Georgia Power’s agreements with data centers in an interview with GPB in August.

“The Public Service Commission allows very heavy redactions and trade secrets,” she said. “So the contracts between Georgia Power and the data centers are also redacted and trade secreted. So no one will know what they actually charge data centers.”

It was unclear what officials believed Durand was going to do with the material she allegedly stole, and Georgia Power is working with authorities on the case, Fox 5 reported.

According to an article by the Georgia Recorder, “This week’s PSC proceedings were held to consider a request from Georgia Power to add nearly 10,000 megawatts to the state’s power grid. About 60% of the energy requested would come from expanding or building new gas plants, while 40% would come from renewable energy.”

Special Prosecutor Launches Investigation into Disgraced Democrat Virginia AG Candidate Jay Jones After Allegedly Faking 1,000 Hours of Court-Ordered Community Service Following Reckless Driving Conviction

A special prosecutor has been appointed to investigate how disgraced Democrat attorney general candidate Jay Jones allegedly satisfied 1,000 hours of court-ordered community service following his reckless driving conviction for going 116 MPH in a 70 MPH zone.

Jones, already under fire for past politically violent rhetoric in which he expressed a desire to kill his GOP rival, faced devastating scrutiny when incumbent Attorney General Miyares opened last week’s debate by reminding Virginians of Jones’s 116-mph joyride down Interstate 64.

Earlier this month, Miyares wrote on X, “Jay Jones was caught recklessly driving 116 miles per hour on I-64. Then, he tried to claim campaign work for his own PAC counted as community service to avoid jail. Jay Jones is too soft-on-crime — including his own.”

Jason Miyares:
The reality is that Jay Jones was in court for going 116 miles an hour on Interstate 64. Four people were in court that day, all going roughly the same speed. Three of those four people got suspended or active jail sentences. But Jay Jones is a politician, and he asked the court not to give him any of that—to give him community service.

And instead, we now know he misled the court. That community service wasn’t done for a charity; it was done for his own political action committee that he controlled.

According to the New Kent County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, a circuit court judge approved a motion assigning the case to Special Prosecutor Nathan Green, Commonwealth’s Attorney for Williamsburg and James City County, WJLA reported.

The move follows weeks of mounting scrutiny over whether Jones falsified or misrepresented his community service documentation to avoid the penalties typically faced by others convicted of similar offenses.
