Greta is favourite to win the Nobel Peace Prize because, bafflingly, our elites are still in thrall to this child prophet of doom

St. Greta Thunberg has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for the third year running and is the bookies’ favourite, for her services to infantile ranting, doom-mongering, and historical illiteracy. Just one question: why?

Teenage doomster Greta Thunberg is the hot favourite to win this year’s Nobel Peace Prize. Her predictions of global death and destruction seem to strike a chord with the Nobel committee, gullible youngsters, and cynical politicians alike.

Greta has been in full tantrum mode this week at the Youth4Climate Summit in Milan. Earlier in the week, she lambasted politicians for not acting quickly enough to prevent the End of Days. In true petulant teenage fashion, Thunberg’s critique of the situation amounted to “blah, blah, blah.” Such wise words of wisdom from the teenage soothsayer.   

Yet, unbelievably, politicians are taking this nonsense seriously. Italian Climate Minister Roberto Cingolani took these words of wisdom to heart, saying that “the lack of attention in the past, the message is complete … this is what we are trying to do now, to improve.”

Yesterday Thunberg met with the Italian PM, Mario Draghi, and I have no doubt that if she turns up in Glasgow for the COP26 summit next month, Boris Johnson and Nicola Sturgeon, the Scottish first minister, will be queuing up to kneel at the altar of St. Greta.

But why are politicians paying attention to her, and why are they so afraid of her jumbled ramblings? She’s not elected to anything, even though she is now old enough to stand for election, and she is only ever beastly to them.

Climatism: What’s Really Behind Greta Thunberg’s Public Meltdown

The climate change movement continues to run into problems, including disheveled public meltdowns by its ideological leaders. 

Rarely at at loss for words, the world most popular climate activist, Greta Thunberg, 18, suddenly has “nothing to say” on what to do about climate change.

During a recent global summit, a visibly unhinged Greta shocked onlookers as she descended in her now infamous “Blah, blah, blah” rant.

Still, her core supporters clapped and cheered, but her bizarre performance may not have sat well with Davos elites who depend on the young Swede to sell their agenda to their global constituency. She even took a sarcastic swipe at the World Economic Forum’s sacred “Build Back Better” mantra. It must have been a jaw-dropping moment for Klaus Schwab.

But behind Greta’s green mask is the all too familiar ring of radical leftwing politics.

“She’s got nothing to say about what is actually happening on climate change,” says Sky News host Rowan Dean. “She just simply says ‘action, action, action’ – the cry of every despot, every dictator, every communist, every socialist, every Marxist.”

The real difficulty facing the movement is that it’s hard to articulate a solution to a problem which has not happened yet.

Instead we are told to shut up and trust ‘The Science.’

As a result of this fundamental flaw in the climatist argument, we’ll likely see more flippant tirades by Thunberg and others.

New York Times Misses the Fact That Drought is a Weather Phenomenon, Not Proof of Climate Change

Under its “Extreme Weather and Climate Updates,” section online, the New York Times, suggests climate change is causing drought conditions in the United States to worsen. This is false.

Data show no significant increase of drought in the United States during the recent period of modest warming. In fact, data indicate, if anything, most of the United States has experienced more rainfall during the past 150 years, becoming less prone to extended drought.

“Nearly half of the land mass of the contiguous United States — 47 percent — is experiencing drought conditions, according to the latest report from the U.S. Drought Monitor, and it’s getting worse in the Northern Plains and everywhere west of the Rocky Mountains,” wrote the New York Times on August 25. “Droughts are a normal part of life, especially in the American West, where they have occurred regularly throughout the centuries. But scientists say that climate change, in the form of warming temperatures and shifts in precipitation, is making the situation worse.”

Historically, it is common for more than 40 percent of the United States to be experiencing drought at any period of time. What is uncommon is for less than 40 percent of the country to be experiencing drought, yet, as reported in Climate at a Glance: Drought, that just what the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) data show occurred recently.

New Study Analyzes Implementation of “2030 Agenda” Personal Carbon Allowances

THE STORY: While the world continues to go crazy over COVID, plans develop to create more systems of control based on the imaginary idea that limiting carbon output can save the planet.

Technocrats Want “Mandatory” Carbon Credit Cards to Control Every Facet of Your Life

Technocrats are preparing “mandatory” personal carbon allowances that would introduce rationing into every area of your life via an app that would record your travel, heating expenses and even the food you eat.

Yes, really.

The proposal was presented in the science journal Nature by four environmental “experts” as a means of reducing global carbon emissions.

Everyone would be issued with a ‘carbon allowance card’ “that would entail all adults receiving an equal tradable carbon allowance that reduces over time in line with national [carbon] targets.”

The authors make it clear that the program would be a “national mandatory policy.”

Carbon units would be “deducted from the personal budget with every payment of transport fuel, home-heating fuels and electricity bills,” and anyone going over the limit would be forced to purchase additional units in the personal carbon market from those with excess to sell.”

This means that the private jet-flying rich could simply bypass the system entirely (which they would part-own via investments anyway) by simply buying carbon credits and carrying on living their luxurious lifestyle.

The proposal makes clear that the means of measuring a person’s uptake of carbon units for travel would function “on the basis of the tracking the user’s movement history.”

The authors note how the normalization of contact tracing via COVID-19 apps will ensure a similar system could be used for keeping track of carbon credits with minimum fuss.

“Recent studies show how COVID-19 contact tracing apps were successfully implemented with mandatory schemes in several East Asian countries such as China, Taiwan, and South Korea,” states the article.

Global surface temperature was 1.09 [0.95 to 1.20] °C higher in 2011– 2020 than 1850–1900, with larger increases over land (1.59 [1.34 to 1.83] °C) than over the ocean (0.88 [0.68 to 1.01] °C). The estimated increase in global surface temperature since AR5 is principally due to further warming since 2003–2012 (+0.19 [0.16 to 0.22] °C).   6. Global surface temperature will continue to increase until at least the mid-century under all emissions scenarios considered. Global warming of 1.5°C and 2°C will be exceeded during the 21st century unless deep reductions in CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions occur in the coming decades.

Relative to 1995-2014, the likely global mean sea level rise by 2100 is 0.28-0.55 m under the very low GHG emissions scenario (SSP1-1.9), 0.32-0.62 m under the low GHG emissions scenario (SSP1-2.6), 0.44-0.76 m under the intermediate GHG emissions scenario (SSP2-4.5), and 0.63-1.01 m under the very high GHG emissions scenario (SSP5-8.5), and by 2150 is 0.37-0.86 m under the very low scenario (SSP1-1.9), 0.46- 0.99 m under the low scenario (SSP1-2.6), 0.66-1.33 m under the intermediate scenario (SSP2-4.5), and 0.98-1.88 m under the very high scenario (SSP5-8.5) (medium confidence).

The sun and not human emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) may be the main cause of warmer temperatures in recent decades, according to a new study with findings that sharply contradict the conclusions of the United Nations (UN) Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

The peer-reviewed paper, produced by a team of almost two dozen scientists from around the world, concluded that previous studies did not adequately consider the role of solar energy in explaining increased temperatures.

The new study was released just as the UN released its sixth “Assessment Report,” known as AR6, that once again argued in favor of the view that man-kind’s emissions of CO2 were to blame for global warming. The report said human responsibility was “unequivocal.”

But the new study casts serious doubt on the hypothesis.

Calling the blaming of CO2 by the IPCC “premature,” the climate scientists and solar physicists argued in the new paper that the UN IPCC’s conclusions blaming human emissions were based on “narrow and incomplete data about the Sun’s total irradiance.”

Indeed, the global climate body appears to display deliberate and systemic bias in what views, studies, and data are included in its influential reports, multiple authors told The Epoch Times in a series of phone and video interviews.

“Depending on which published data and studies you use, you can show that all of the warming is caused by the sun, but the IPCC uses a different data set to come up with the opposite conclusion,” lead study author Ronan Connolly, Ph.D. told The Epoch Times in a video interview.

“In their insistence on forcing a so-called scientific consensus, the IPCC seems to have decided to consider only those data sets and studies that support their chosen narrative,” he added.

UN to Consider Spraying “Sulfate Aerosols” Above the Earth’s Surface to Reduce Global Temperatures

The United Nations is considering the risks of spraying “sulfate aerosols” above the earth’s surface to reduce global temperatures, according to a Reuters report.

Yesterday, a U.N. climate panel released a “code red” report that warned of “deadly heat waves, gargantuan hurricanes and other weather extremes” if drastic action isn’t taken quickly to stop man-made climate change.

According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), humans are “unequivocally” to blame, with U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres calling for a total end to the use of coal and fossil fuels.

According to a Reuters report on the issue, “controversial methods” of geoengineering are now being actively considered by the UN to limit and reverse global temperature increases.

“For example, humans could spray sulfate aerosols – tiny reflective particles – into the stratosphere 20 to 25 kilometers (12 to 16 miles) above the earth’s surface to reflect more sunlight back into space, which lowers global temperatures,” states the report.

However, using this method would create “uncertainty, moral issues (and) ethical issues” because “sulfate aerosols have the side effect of also lowering average precipitation.”
