Media outlets campaign to get Facebook to censor climate “misinformation”

A series of articles have been appearing lately in Big Media, piling pressure on Facebook to step up censorship of what’s considered to be “climate misinformation” on the giant platform.

These reports published by the BBC, The Guardian, and The Verge – all citing and giving a lot of space to a study into climate-related content on Facebook produced by several fairly obscure advocacy groups – came shortly after Big Tech declared “climate misinformation” and “climate denial” to be its next censorship target.

One of these groups, “The Real Facebook Oversight Board,” announced on Twitter that it is publishing a quarterly report that documents “Facebook’s harms on climate change.”

The outfit, which states to be a part of the the-citizens.com site (that for now has a landing page and is funded, among others, by Luminate – an offshoot of billionaire Pierre Omidyar’s organization), said it was working with “Stop Funding Heat” and “Sum of Us” to produce the report.

The Verge bases its article on the “study” published on the Stop Funding Heat website, which accuses Facebook of “fact-checking” less than 4 percent of posts for climate misinformation, that is said to have increased by as much as 77% since January, to garner between about 800,000 and 1.3 million views.

“Facebook has been told over and over, through public reports and in private meetings, that its platform is a breeding ground for climate misinformation. Either they don’t care or they don’t know how to fix it,” Stop Funding Heat’s Sean Buchan is cited as stating.

Media peddling a new ‘climate change’ lie

It is amazing news that there has never been a famine caused by climate change until now.

The lead story on ABC news on Monday, November 1 was a blatant, intentional lie spreading propaganda on climate change to mislead the public. 

It is tremendously sad and dangerous that so much of what is purported to be news today is Democrat talking points used to pass their radical leftist agenda to destroy America. 

But unlike other countries, where extreme hunger and near-famine conditions are caused by war, conflict, or isolated weather events, in this part of Madagascar, the cause is so far unique: southern Madagascar is on the verge of becoming the world’s first climate-change induced near-famine in modern history.

The story itself was newsworthy and sad.  A huge number of children are suffering from hunger due to a five-year drought in Madagascar.  The lie occurred when David Muir said this is the first drought-based famine that has occurred because of climate change and implied that it is being caused by oil and humans.  That is pure BS. 

Anyone who still has a brain knows that droughts and famines throughout history have occurred naturally and cyclically.  They are caused by a lack of rain.  The Earth’s climate has always been subject to change.  How does Muir think so much of the Earth is covered by desert if it weren’t for long droughts?

Big Tech announces climate change “misinformation” to be the next censorship target

After “tackling” – some say disastrously for online speech – the topics of US elections and Covid by promoting content that is considered “authoritative” and suppressing, to various degrees, everything else, Facebook, Twitter, and Google are further narrowing the space for their users’ free expression.

These enormous digital squares, the social platforms-turned-approved speech enforcers will now add climate change to the list of issues discussions about which are strictly controlled and censored, when information users post or share clashes with the giants’ idea of what’s true and what’s false.

Media like Axios already have something akin to a pejorative for those who happen not to be on board the current climate change narrative – their stance is described as “climate denialism.”

And as the elites are gathering in Glasgow, Scotland for the UN-sponsored COP26 summit, tech giants who operate some of the biggest social media platforms on the planet are using the opportunity to “finally” fall in line and contribute with the best (or the worst, depending on your point of view) they have to offer – censorship, and manipulation of content visibility and reach.

Bezos Flies By Private Jet To Have ‘Cup Of Tea’ And Climate Change Chat With Prince Charles (Who Also Flew In By Private Jet)

While they spend the next two weeks lecturing everyone else about doing more to tackle climate change, elitists including Jeff Bezos, Prince Charles and Bill Gates have been slammed for flying around everyday on carbon spewing private jets.

Bezos met with Prince Charles Sunday in a massive mansion near Glasgow for a ‘cup of tea’ and a chat about climate change, after both of them arrived in private jets.

Bezos touched down in Scotland on Sunday at Prestwick Airport in a $65million Gulfstream plane, just one of FOUR HUNDRED private jets to land at the airport ahead of the COP 26 summit.

Bezos’ social media pages quickly filled up with images of him and his wife lounging in the luxurious mansion with the heir to the British throne, waxing lyrical about how they are fighting climate change.

Biden tours Rome with 85-vehicle motorcade ahead of ‘climate’ summit

President Biden on Friday cruised through Rome with an 85-vehicle motorcade — drawing criticism for the poor optics ahead of a global warming summit in Glasgow, Scotland, to which Biden is bringing about a dozen top US officials.

“Biden arriving at the Vatican. His motorcade is lonnnnnng,” tweeted Washington Post reporter Chico Harlan, along with a video of the procession.

“#Decarbonize this,” one person captioned the video.

“America’s Marie Antoinette class is Washington’s elites – and that shows it,” another person responded.

Biden routinely says there’s a “climate crisis” caused by fossil fuels. It’s unclear how many of the motorcade vehicles are electric plug-ins or hybrids, but they appeared to be standard gas-guzzling limos, SUVs and vans.
