Calif.: Fire damage identified on mail-in ballots in L.A. ahead of primary elections

Fire damage was identified on a number of mail-in ballots from a drop box in Los Angeles, according to the Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (RR/CC).

In a Sunday press release, the RR/CC said “staff identified a limited number of Vote by Mail ballots that appeared to have sustained fire-related damage inside an Official Ballot Drop Box at the Department of Public Social Services-Civic Center.”

“Preliminary information indicates the incident was isolated and involved a small number of ballots, as it occurred between the most recent scheduled collection and the following morning’s retrieval,” the release stated.

It added that staff had filed a report with local police and would fully cooperate as the investigation continued.

The office also related a separate incident on Sunday morning when vandalism was discovered at the Cesar E. Chavez Park voting center in L.A. County, though it claimed that voting operations were not disrupted.

“Voting is a fundamental right, and Los Angeles County remains committed to ensuring every eligible voter can cast a ballot safely and confidently,” said L.A. County Board Chair and First District Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, per the release.

“Any attempt to vandalize election facilities, damage voting materials, or interfere with the voting process is unacceptable. We take these incidents seriously and will continue working with election officials and law enforcement partners to protect voters and uphold the integrity of our elections,” she continued.

The RR/CC also said it was working to identify the voters potentially affected by the incidents.

“Voters whose ballots may have been impacted by the Drop Box incident will be contacted directly and provided information about available options, including replacement ballots if necessary,” the office stated.

Sunday’s announcement comes just ahead of California’s June 2nd primary elections, which include the highly contested gubernatorial primary race.

Man Running for Congress in Florida Sells 86-47 Merch, Threatens to Dox J6ers in Unhinged Video: “They Deserve a f***ing Noose”

Mark Davis, Air Force veteran and small business owner, is running unaffiliated (No Party Affiliation / NPA) in Florida’s 16th Congressional District, which covers parts of Hillsborough and Manatee counties, including areas around Parrish and Tampa Bay.

In the 2026 general election for U.S. House, he faces incumbent Republican Rep. Vern Buchanan.

Davis has become known for his very public use of “86 47” anti-Trump messaging, the same violent messaging that led to an indictment of former FBI Director James Comey.

Davis has worn “86 47” hats in photos, driven with an “86 47” license plate, and sells hats, t-shirts, and other merch directly on his campaign website.

After Comey was indicted, Davis doubled down. He posted defiant photos of himself in the hat with the license plate and said things like “Arrest us all. I dare you.”

He called the crackdown “silly” and vowed to keep wearing/selling the merch daily through the election.

In a recent post on Instagram, Davis said, “January Sixers don’t deserve a billion dollars. They deserve a f***ing noose.”

“And if I find out that any of you January Sixers request funds from this little fucking slush fund that Trump set up, I’m gonna personally dox the living fucking shit out of you.”

“Have fun.”

Democrat Strategist TORCHES Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, Suggests Spencer Pratt Could Win Based on Voter Anger

Democrat strategist Melissa DeRosa appeared on FOX News today and absolutely slammed Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, noting that even though she has the establishment machine fully behind her campaign, she can’t break past 27 percent in polling.

She also notes that it has been 25 years since the city has had a Republican mayor and says that Spencer Pratt could win the race based on voter anger alone.

It’s amazing to see a Democrat strategist saying all of this out loud.

On Monday’s The Story on Fox News, Martha MacCallum played video of Bass saying of opponent Spencer Pratt, “It’s not just that he has no experience in city government, but I don’t know if he’s ever held a job in his life other than to be a reality TV star. And I think that he doesn’t know the issues. He’s operating out of anger. And what our city needs is to move forward, and a city where people can live their lives without the fear of crime.”

DeRosa told MacCallum, “Karen Bass is a Democrat with all of the establishment behind her. She has the union, and the governor, and Kamala Harris, but she can’t crack 26 or 27%.”

“So, that is not about Spencer Pratt, that is about her,” DeRosa said. “When you have a ceiling that low and you are the incumbent mayor, that is your constituents telling you, ‘You’re fired.’ So, Spencer Pratt — it’s fascinating to watch. A Republican has not been mayor in Los Angeles since 2001, so it’s been 25 years, and I think if he gets elected, he will get elected, yes, because people are angry, because they feel that the government has failed them.”…

“I think it’s gonna be a runoff between Bass and Pratt,” DeRosa said. “And then in a runoff, head-to-head, I actually think he can consolidate the anti-establishment vote, and he could come over the top, because she has a terrible record that she will defend for the next five months.”

Busted! Leftist Media Wants You to Think Talarico Is Polling Ahead of Paxton in Texas

There are two kinds of political polls. The first is curated propaganda for your consumption. Its goal is not to reflect public opinion but to shape it. It’s designed to shape your opinion, and in a sense manipulate you in the most cynical of ways. The second is the internal poll, where the campaign pays for it and keeps the results out of the public eye. This is the information and data the campaign uses to plan for, initiate, and respond to the day-to-day events of the campaign.

Since all campaigns conduct their own internal polling, you have to know that if their behavior and messaging seem slightly out of step with the general tone of news coverage, this is the reason. They know something the media does not, and you do not.

The Senate race in Texas has just served up a great example of how the left and their partners in the legacy media like to use polls to manipulate public opinion.

According to a poll from an organization called Texas Public Opinion Research (TPOR), Texas state Rep. James Talarico (D), who definitely eats meat and definitely likes females, has a three-point lead over Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R). TPOR reports that Talarico is favored 47% to Paxton’s 44% among likely general election voters.

The totally unbiased people at The Hill reported that the poll sampled voters in the wake of Paxton’s defeat of Sen. John Cornyn (R) in the Texas primary election.

Nearly a third of the respondents who voted for Cornyn in the runoff indicated in the poll that they will support the Democratic nominee in the November election. A plurality — 44 percent — of these voters said they will now choose Paxton, and 23 percent were undecided, The Hill Reported.

The pollsters and The Hill, apparently, would have you believe that roughly 33% of Cornyn voters switched over to Talarico. Before taking this seriously, take a step back and ask yourself if this makes any sense. Chances are, if it doesn’t make sense to you, then it doesn’t make sense.

Texas is a solidly red state. Cornyn, while seen as a RINO and a squish by many conservatives, is still largely regarded as very, very far to the right of Talarico. On his campaign website, Cornyn bragged that he had a “more than 99.2% voting record with President Trump.”

Do the people who voted for that sound like the kind of people who would now vote for a man-child who is working very hard to try to convince voters that he eats meat and is a heterosexual male? He even has a girlfriend, according to the latest reports.

The New York Post reported that she is “Brianna Menard, 30, (who) describes herself as a ‘committed vegan,’ yoga buff and cat mom who likes ‘dancing the night away’ at local gay bar Cheer Up Charlies in Austin.”

The Democrat Establishment Is Starting To Worry About Spencer Pratt

The last person California Democrats expected to keep them up at night is Spencer Pratt. Yet here we are.

The former reality television personality-turned-independent mayoral candidate has spent the past several weeks doing something that Los Angeles’s political establishment convinced itself was impossible: making incumbent Mayor Karen Bass look vulnerable.

Conventional wisdom held that a candidate like Pratt, a former television personality with no governing experience, running as an independent in a deep-blue city, had no realistic path to victory. The conventional wisdom was wrong, or at a minimum, it failed to account for how much patience voters had actually lost with the Democratic Party’s incompetence.

At some point, even reliable Democratic constituencies reach a limit for how much they can tolerate. Bass may be finding out precisely where that limit sits.

Between April 19 and May 15, Pratt’s campaign has raised roughly $2.7 million. Over that same stretch, Bass pulled in just $282,000. Bass has been raising money since 2024, and her total haul since then is approximately $2.8 million. Pratt nearly matched it in less than a month.

The two candidates are now separated by less than $100,000 in cash on hand, with Pratt sitting on roughly $1.42 million and Bass on approximately $1.32 million.

The money story alone would be enough to rattle the machine. The polls are another story. Pratt has been performing well in the polls, with Bass only leading by single digits in recent surveys, which means Pratt could advance to a runoff with Bass.

In a city where Democratic registration is so overwhelming that Republican candidates don’t bother showing up on general election ballots, this is a huge red flag for the Bass campaign.

The Democrat establishment has heard the message loud and clear and is starting to panic. On Thursday, Gov. Gavin Newsom issued an endorsement of Bass – just five days before the primary.

“The work Karen Bass is doing in Los Angeles is making our entire state stronger, with an 18% decline in homelessness while it grew nationally, historic drops in violent crime, boosting film production in L.A., and protecting our communities against ICE. She has my full support for reelection,” Newsom said in a statement.

Whatever the merits of the endorsement’s substance, its timing speaks for itself. It reeks of desperation.

If no candidate receives a majority on the June 2nd election, a runoff election will be held on November 3rd. Newsom, making an endorsement in the race’s final days, is clearly hoping to boost Bass and avoid a runoff.

Pratt was unimpressed by Newsom’s 11th-hour endorsement. He responded by calling Newsom and Bass “alleged criminal partners,” tying them together through their shared record on the catastrophic January wildfires and the city’s homelessness crisis.

“It’s not shocking because their alleged criminal partners, not only did they work together in their negligence and burning down 7,000 houses and 12 people alive, but they’re both complicit in laundering, what, 24 billion dollars to actually increase homelessness,” Pratt said.

He went further, attacking the homelessness statistics Newsom cited and accusing both Newsom and Bass of making them up.

“Those are not real numbers,” Pratt insisted. “Anybody with eyeballs in the state of California or Los Angeles knows that there has not been a reduction in one homeless person. Actually, there’s been an increase of naked drug addict zombies in front of every kid’s playground, every kid’s school, every coffee shop.”

“They both should be in jail together,” he added.

ELECTION SABOTAGE: Democrat Strategist Convinces Man with SAME NAME as Vulnerable Male GOP Senator to Run Against Him – Both Will Appear on Primary Ballot Together

One of the most vulnerable Republican senators is facing a stunning new threat to his political livelihood from a man with the same name as him after a Democrat strategist pulled off a dirty trick.

Fox News reported that campaign material metadata reveals that Amber Lee, a far-left Democrat consultant, authored a press release announcing a Alaska Senate bid for a “Dan Sullivan” who has nothing to do with incumbent Alaska GOP Senator Sullivan.

The Dan Sullivan whom Lee planted claims that he is running because Senator Sullivan “failed to put Alaska first.”

“For too long, Senator Sullivan has failed to put Alaska first,” Dan Sullivan, a Petersburg resident, said while announcing his candidacy. “When you care about a people and a place, you have a duty to make every sacrifice in your power to protect them.”

“That’s why I’m running.”

Fox News notes that Lee’s consulting firm, Amber Strategies, lists several leftist clients, including Alaska Women’s Ascent.

This group aims to “train women who are pro-choice, pro-LGBTQ rights, pro-union, anti-racist and pro-racial justice” to serve as candidates and volunteers.

The National Republican Senate Committee was rightfully livid over the dirty trick pulled by Democrats.

“Mary Peltola and Chuck Schumer know they can’t beat Senator Sullivan on his record, so they’re resorting to deceitful political maneuvers that attempt to trick Alaskans and buy a seat,” NRSC Committee Spokesperson Nick Puglia told Fox News.

Both Sullivans will appear in Alaska’s ridiculous open primary system, where the top four candidates advance to the general election. This means Alaska voters could be asked to pick TWICE between two people with the same name.

UM…There’s a new theory about the Dem race in Maine…

There’s a new theory about the Democrat race in Maine involving Graham Platner and I thought it was worth posting, considering the source.

There’s no way to know at this point if it will happen, but it’s definitely worth knowing because it is something Democrats like to do when they have a bad candidate (like Biden).

Here’s what Bill Shipley wrote a few minutes ago:

This is getting very curious. These influential voices are coming out on this point VERY LATE. The primary is June 9.

I do not think anything will happen in advance of the primary, and Platner is going to win with no real opponent still in the race.

BUT, under Maine law, if Platner were to drop out after winning the primary, he could be replaced by the Dems on the General Election ballot ONLY IF:

1. He drops out prior to the 2nd Monday in July, and
2. His replacement is named by the 4th Monday in July.

I think we are seeing the unfolding of a plan by the Dem. establishment OUTSIDE of Maine to begin a drumbeat for Platner to exit the race after the primary, and let the Party hand-pick a replacement for the General.

Pro-Tip — always read state law to figure out that plan that might be in the process of being hatched behind closed doors.

Crypto And AI Could Be Dirty Words On 2026 Midterm Campaign Trail

The AI and crypto industries have made headlines over the past year thanks to the impressive war chests amassed by corporate political action committees (PACs).

Profligate spending during the last federal elections in the US has led to unprecedented policy changes favoring the crypto industry, with indications that a full legislative framework in the form of the CLARITY Act is on its way to becoming law. 

But this hasn’t endeared the crypto industry to voters. Recent polls from Politico show distrust of the crypto industry, and the electorate isn’t sold on the benefits of AI.

“Voters across the ideological spectrum are raising concerns,” Michael Beckel, director of money in politics reform at Issue One, told Cointelegraph. “Some candidates on both sides of the aisle are trying to harness that frustration and outrage.”

Voters don’t trust crypto and don’t believe AI benefits them

According to the recent poll by Public First for Politico, most Americans don’t trust crypto and don’t believe in the benefits of AI. 

While Republican voters are somewhat more likely to trust crypto, 47% of Americans overall trust a traditional bank over a crypto platform, while 17% trust a crypto platform as much as a traditional bank. 

The numbers for AI aren’t great either. Some 43% of Americans overall believe that the risks outweigh the benefits, while 33% believe the inverse. 

Currently, most people haven’t heard about the major crypto and AI lobbies. According to Politico, only nine percent have heard of AI Super PAC Leading the Future. Only three percent have heard of pro-crypto PAC Fairshake.

That’s not much compared to public awareness of large lobbies like the National Rifle Association or the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, which are practically household names.

Still, association with crypto could be a problem. Ohio Republican Representative Jim Renacci told Politico, “I do think if they see somebody is backed by crypto, that’s always going to be a problem, because, let’s face it, the people that I talk to in Ohio, they don’t understand crypto, and most say they’re not comfortable with [it].”

Improving awareness around crypto lobbies may not help them much. Rick Claypool, research director at Public Citizen, told Cointelegraph:

“Generally speaking, voters are against corporate money influencing politics.”

“Even after Citizens United, the norm had been for big, brand-name corporations not to engage directly. Or when they did engage, they would often contribute through dark money groups that obscure their funding source.”

In this regard, the crypto industry’s spending spree in 2024 was somewhat unusual. Major contributors like Coinbase or a16z weren’t shy about the millions of dollars they put into campaigns.

But even then, “the voter-facing message from Fairshake was never about crypto, which voters never really cared about.” Mailers and ad buys reflected the supported candidates’ positions more broadly, or sometimes attacked those of the perceived anti-crypto candidate. 

Overall, “candidates who are seen as not beholden to corporate interests have an electoral edge,” said Claypool. This was true for populist candidates like US Senator Bernie Sanders and even US President Donald Trump, who claimed during his 2016 campaign that “he was so rich he could not be bought, which is laughable in hindsight.” 

If awareness about crypto — and crypto’s concerted efforts to influence policy — increases among the electorate, it may not shake out well. 

Issue One’s Beckel said, “If voters view an industry as toxic, that can have serious implications for candidates who don’t want to be perceived as too close to a controversial company or industry.”

Spencer Pratt Demands Investigation into Karen Bass for “Flagrant Violations” of Election Laws After Campaign Video Shows Illegal Electioneering

Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt, incumbent Mayor Karen Bass’s closest rival in the June 2nd open primary election, has filed a formal complaint with the Los Angeles City Clerk alleging that Bass violated election laws by campaigning near a ballot drop box.

In the complaint, Pratt’s attorney, Peter McNulty, blasted Bass for “flagrantly violat[ing] State of California and City of Los Angeles election laws by engaging in illegal electioneering.”

According to California state law, illegal electioneering is “the visible display or audible dissemination of information that advocates for or against any candidate or measure on the ballot within the 100 foot limit specified in subdivision.” This includes “obstructing access to, loitering near, or disseminating visible or audible electioneering information at vote by mail ballot drop boxes.” The city of Los Angeles has a similar law on the books.

This complaint comes after Bass made a campaign video, allegedly soliciting votes with supporters holding signs within 100 feet of a dropbox, which McNulty describes as “blatant electioneering directly near a polling place and drop box location.”

Supporters in the video are further seen disseminating audible electioneering information by chanting “Four more years” as Bass places her mail-in ballot in the drop box. Bass is also heard shouting at the voters as they cast their ballots, “One more vote to win!”

California Dem Governor Candidate Xavier Becerra Wants Free Healthcare for Illegals, Boasts About Jobs They Take From Americans

Xavier Becerra, the former Obama Biden lackey who is running for governor of California as a Democrat, wants the state to continue to provide free healthcare for illegals. Big surprise, right?

He confirmed this during a recent appearance on CNN.

The remarkable thing about the segment is that he admitted that illegals take jobs away from Americans, not just in farming, but in construction, healthcare and more.

You can tell from the smug look on his face that he thought he was being so clever about this.

Breitbart News reported:

Host Elex Michaelson said that Hilton “says he wants to take the undocumented off of healthcare rolls. Why do you want to keep them on there, and how much is that going to cost the state?”

Becerra answered, “He looks at them as people who don’t have documents. I look at them as hard workers. I look at them as people like my parents. I am the son of immigrants. To me, I want you to build, help me build California. If you’re working hard, I want you to have healthcare. I guess Steve Hilton doesn’t care if they work really hard. He looks at their status, and that’s about it.”

Michaelson then said, “Well, he says that they broke the law. And he says that he immigrated here legally and that spending money to give somebody healthcare is incentivizing bad behavior.”

Becerra responded, “He doesn’t seem to mind that the price of food is a little lower because these are the folks that are picking the crops. He doesn’t seem to mind that the places that you can buy to live in are places that these folks built. He doesn’t seem to mind that they’re the folks that are taking care of probably one of his relatives, probably taking care of his yards. He seems to mind that they don’t have documents, but he doesn’t seem to mind that they do so much of the work in California.”
