Coronavirus: Pregnant Victorian woman filmed arrest

A pregnant anti-lockdown protester has live-streamed her arrest on social media and been charged for allegedly inciting a protest against COVID-19 restrictions in Ballarat’s CBD.

The video on the woman’s Facebook page had already been viewed more than 1.4 million times in the space of four hours by Wednesday night, with comments describing the scenes as “absolutely disgusting”.

“What the actual f***!” one person wrote, echoing many others.

Detectives descended on the woman’s Miners Rest home today, armed with a search warrant, after they became aware of a “prohibited gathering” scheduled to take place in the regional Victorian city this Saturday.

Officers raided the 28-year-old’s home and seized her mobile phone and computer equipment, after she greeted them at the door in pink pyjamas.

Upon being told she was going to be arrested, the woman began to cry and told officers she would “happily” delete her social media posts, with her Facebook page reportedly containing links to a “peaceful, freedom day” protest scheduled for the weekend.

“The government has gone to extreme measures and are using scare tactics through the media to prevent the Melbourne protest,” the event’s description said.

Italian Flat Earthers’ Journey to the ‘Edge of the World’ Goes Wildly Awry

An Italian couple who believe that the Earth is flat wound up on a wild misadventure after they decided to put the theory to the test by embarking on a journey to what they suspect is ‘edge of the world.’ The incredibly strange saga reportedly unfolded back in April, but was only revealed to the Italian media by authorities this week. It began when the pair broke the country’s then-stringent coronavirus travel restrictions and set off in their car towards the coast of Sicily.

Amazingly, when they reached the seaside town of Termini Imerese, the pair sold their car, purchased a boat, and set sail for the island of Lampedusa which, for reasons unexplained, they believe to be the edge of the Flat Earth. Either due to a lack of nautical navigation skills or an ill-conceived travel plan, they ultimately arrived at the island of Ustica, which is located north of Sicily and approximately 225 miles in the opposite direction of where they wanted to go.

According to officials on the island, the two weary travelers were found “tired, thirsty, and risking shipwreck.” A doctor who attended to the duo understandably found some amusement in their predicament, noting that “the funny thing is that they oriented themselves with a compass, an instrument that works on the basis of terrestrial magnetism, a principle that they, as Flat Earthers, should refuse.” The pair were then taken by escort to the Sicilian capital of Palermo, where they were told to remain in their boat under quarantine for 15 days.

Flamethrower-Packing Antifa ‘Entered Fetal Position And Began Crying’ After Unsuccessful Escape From Cops

Matthew Banta of Neenah, WI – who is “known to be a violent Antifa member who incites violence in otherwise relatively peaceful protests,” was one of four individuals walking towards a protest with baseball bats, according to ABC2.

Green Bay police say they were called for “a whole bunch of white people with sticks, baseball bats and helmets headed… towards the police” on Walnut St. near Webster Ave.

A responding officer says he saw four individuals walking towards a protest with baseball bats. One man was wearing a metal helmet with goggles and military-style gear with multiple pouches, and was carrying an Antifa flag. When the officer pulled his squad car in front of the group, they ran away. The officer caught Banta, who was carrying the flag, and says Banta “dropped into the fetal position and began crying.” He accused the officer of lying on him; the officer replied nobody was on him. –ABC2

Off-duty Cop and Friends Assault Restaurant Owner, Smash Desk After Being Asked to Mask Up

Surveillance video from inside Ming Dynasty showed an off-duty Quincy police officer and three other people become violent and go crazy when a dispute arose over wearing a face mask.

The video shows a 49-year-old woman smashing the front desk of the restaurant over the mask dispute, while attacking the owner.

“She was pushing my husband and smashed my front desk,” restaurant owner Lei Yan said. “It put my husband’s life in danger.”

Accompanying the woman was the off duty cop who also became irate and was using his badge to justify his illegal actions.

Yan said the group came in after midnight and was very drunk. She said the incident started after the restaurant refused to serve them drinks.

“When they came in, they looked very drunk,” Yan stated.

After being refused drinks, the group of drunks then allegedly left their seats to protest Yan’s decision and refused to put on masks.

That’s when the violence started and when the cop protected the offender.

“He just took his police ID, showing our whole bar, our whole restaurant,” restaurant co-owner Jimmy Tian said. “Like, I’m a police officer, I don’t need a mask.”

Philadelphia mayor seen dining indoors while city’s restaurants can only serve outside

Philadelphia’s mayor is facing criticism after a photo has emerged of him dining indoors in Maryland while his city’s restaurants are only permitted to serve customers outside.

The image of Jim Kenney – posted on Instagram by restaurateur Marc Vetri – was taken Sunday in the Chesapeake Bay region of Maryland, his office told the Philadelphia Inquirer.

“Glad you’re enjoying indoor dining with no social distancing or mask wearing in Maryland tonight while restaurants here in Philly close, suffer and fight for every nickel just to survive,” Vetri wrote next to the photo. “I guess all your press briefings and your narrative of unsafe indoor dining don’t apply to you. Thank you for clearing it all up for us tonight.”
