Under Pressure From Pro-Israel Groups, Canadian Cities Are Restricting Protest

Civil rights advocates and Palestinian solidarity groups in Canada have raised alarm over a growing wave of municipal bylaws prohibiting protests outside houses of worship, schools, and other sites.

They say the measures — which have been passed in Canada’s largest city, Toronto, among other places, and are being considered elsewhere — infringe on freedom of expression and freedom of peaceful assembly.

Activists have also warned that the bylaws are part of a wider push to stifle demonstrations against Israel’s genocidal war against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

“It’s clear that this isn’t a response to an overall concern around the management of protest,” said Tim McSorley, national coordinator of the International Civil Liberties Monitoring Group, a coalition of dozens of civil society groups in Canada.

Instead, the bylaws are “a response to the overwhelming and unsubstantiated attacks on pro-Palestinian protests across the country,” McSorley told Truthout in an interview. “It’s based in anti-Palestinian racism and based in the characterization of those who would protest in favor of Palestinian human rights, against the ongoing genocide, as all being supporters of terrorism, which is clearly not the case.”

Minnesota Suspected ShooterPolice Locate Abandoned Vehicle… Roughly 50 Miles From Where Shootings Occurred

Police have discovered a car they believe Vance Boelter — the suspect in the shootings that left one Minnesota politician dead and another gravely injured — was driving … abandoned far from the scenes of the crimes.

The Sibley County Sheriff’s Office told CNN … they found the car they believe Boelter was driving about 50 miles southwest of the Twin Cities Sunday morning. The shootings occurred in Brooklyn Park and Champlin — two suburbs of Minneapolis.

CBS reports that a discarded cowboy hat was found near the vehicle. Remember, a photo obtained by law enforcement yesterday showed Boelter in a Minneapolis business with a cowboy hat on. Unclear if this is the same one.

While there isn’t currently a shelter-in-place order in the area, deputies are asking citizens to exercise caution and stay vigilant.

Yesterday, Vance’s wife — Jenny Boelter — was pulled over and detained just hours after the shooting occurred, according to 5 Eyewitness News, citing law enforcement sources. Cops allegedly found a weapon, ammunition, cash and passports in the car.

Senate Pushes Bill That Could End Private Messaging

Under the pretext of strengthening measures against child exploitation online, a controversial Senate bill is resurfacing with provisions that privacy advocates say would gut critical internet protections and compromise the security and privacy of all citizens.

Known as the STOP CSAM Act of 2025 (S. 1829), the legislation is being criticized for using broad language and vague legal standards that could severely weaken encryption and open the floodgates for content takedowns, including legal content, across a wide range of online services.

We obtained a copy of the bill for you here.

The bill’s stated aim is to curb the spread of child sexual abuse material, a crime already strictly prohibited under federal law. Current regulations already compel online platforms to report known instances of such material to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which coordinates with law enforcement.

However, S. 1829 goes well beyond this existing mandate, targeting a wide spectrum of internet platforms with new forms of criminal and civil liability that could penalize even the most privacy-conscious and compliant services.

The scope of the legislation is sweeping. Its provisions apply not only to large social media platforms but also to private messaging apps, cloud storage services, and email providers.

Alabama Judge Will Hear Lawsuit From Parents Over State’s Medical Marijuana Delays

A judge will hold a hearing later this month in a lawsuit filed by parents of children potentially eligible to receive medical cannabis under Alabama’s long-delayed program.

The five parents—Dustin Chandler, Cristina Cain, Catherine Hall, Megan Jackson and Kari Forsyth—want the court to require the Alabama Medical Cannabis Commission (AMCC) to establish a patient registry for medical cannabis, citing delays in access to the program.

“Plaintiffs also bring this petition in their individual capacities because they have suffered specific injuries as a result of the Commissioner’s failure to establish the patient and caregiver registry and seek to vindicate their own private rights,” the parents claimed in the lawsuit. The are also suing “in the name of the State of Alabama to uphold the Compassion Act’s requirement.”

The commission argued in a motion to dismiss filed in May that the lawsuit lacks standing and asks the AMCC to take steps already taken or beyond its control.

“The Commission applauds the early advocacy of those among the Petitioners who supported passage of the [Compassion Act]. Regretfully, it appears the Petitioners have been misinformed about the status of the Patient Registry and why it has not yet been populated with the names of eligible patients,” counsel for AMCC wrote in the motion.

The plaintiffs said in their filing that each child “has a condition that is treatable with medical cannabis” but does not provide any further details.

The AMCC states in the motion that a patient registry has, in fact, been established and is being maintained at a significant expense. But according to the motion to dismiss, no patients are currently registered because physicians cannot be certified until certain licensing requirements for cultivators, processors, transporters and dispensaries are met.

According to the AMCC’s filing, rules established by the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners (BME) dictate that physician certification is dependent on issuing at least one license in each of the licensing categories, or to one integrated facility.

FLASHBACK: Trump’s Director of National Intelligence Testified That Iran is NOT Building a Nuke in March

President Donald Trump’s Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, testified in March that the intel community continues to assess that Iran has not resumed trying to build a nuclear weapon since the program was suspended by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in 2003.

Testifying before the Senate Intelligence Committee on March 27 to provide the Intelligence Community’s 2025 Annual Threat Assessment, Gabbard stated in no uncertain terms, the United States intelligence community “continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has not authorized the nuclear weapons program he suspended in 2003.”

“The IC is monitoring if Tehran decides to reauthorise,” Gabbard added.

The annual threat assessment is the consensus of the 18 U.S. intelligence elements making up the U.S. Intelligence Community.

The testimony made few waves when she gave it, and was minimally reported on in the media, but went viral on Saturday after being shared by WikiLeaks.

Russia tests new laser weapons

Russia has successfully tested eight anti-aircraft laser systems, the government said on Friday. They were designed specifically to tackle drone threats, the statement added.

The trials were attended by senior Russian officials, including Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov. The tests were conducted at specialized proving grounds and organized by Russia’s Military-Industrial Commission and Ministry of Industry and Trade.

“During the tests, the accuracy of guidance, range of destruction, reaction speed of the systems to moving air targets, and resistance to various weather conditions were checked,” the Russian government said in its statement.

Eight new weapons, ranging from “compact mobile devices to stationary high-power systems,” were tested during the trials. The laser weapons faced assorted targets, including small-sized commercial drones and “more complex devices simulating reconnaissance and attack drones,” the Kremlin said.

Roommate Reveals the Chilling Text Message Vance Boelter Left After Allegedly Assassinating Minnesota State Democrat Lawmaker and Her Husband

The best friend and roommate of the person who allegedly killed a Minnesota state lawmaker and her husband while dressed up as a police officer has revealed the chilling words of the suspect right after the attack was carried out.

As The Gateway Pundit’s Kristinn Taylor reported, two Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party lawmakers and their spouses were shot in ‘targeted’ attacks at their homes early Saturday by a man dressed as a police officer.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz announced at a press briefing that Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were killed in the shootings. State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were seriously wounded. Walz called the shootings “targeted” attacks.

57-year-old Vance Luther Boelter was later identified as the suspect in these attacks. As TGP’s Cassandra MacDonald notes, Boelter was a Tim Walz appointee and led an international security firm.

Now, David Carlson, the best friend and roommate of Boelter, shared a text message revealing the suspect’s final words before the attack. The message was reportedly received around 6 a.m. Saturday, shortly after former Democratic state Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband were killed, and Sen. John Hoffman and his wife were shot.

Multiple Minnesota media outlets, including the Minnesota Star Tribune, recorded the video. The message is quite cryptic and chilling.

“David and Ron, I love you guys. I made some choices, and you guys don’t know anything about this, but I’m going to be gone for a while. May be dead shortly, so I just want to let you know I love you guys both and I wish it hadn’t gone this way,” Carlson read from his phone while sitting on his porch steps.

“I don’t want to say anything more and implicate you in any way because you guys don’t know anything about this. But I love you guys and I’m sorry for all the trouble this has caused,” the message continued.

Accused Minnesota assassin Vance Boelter’s wife detained after traffic stop — cops find passports and weapon in car: report

The wife of suspected political assassin Vance Boetler is being detained and questioned after cops found a weapon, ammunition, cash and passports in her car during a traffic stop on Saturday morning, a report said.

Jenny Boetler was stopped by police while driving in a car with several relatives near Onamia, Minnesota, late Saturday morning around 10 a.m., local KTSP reported.

In the car she had a weapon, ammunition, cash and passports, that report stated citing law enforcement officials.

Two cop cruisers were at the scene for two to three hours, according to that report.

Boetler was held for questioning but was not arrested.

It is not clear whether the Boetlers lived with each other, as Vance Boetler was known to live at a residence in Camden, Minnesota, which was raided by SWAT teams on Saturday afternoon.

The couple previously ran the company Praetorian Guard Security.

Florida TSA agent arrested for allegedly attacking 79-year-old passenger at airport

A Transportation Security Administration agent was arrested for allegedly assaulting a 79-year-old passenger at Fort Lauderdale’s airport, with police saying she was “forcefully pushing her,” a report said.

Janiyah Wilson-Robinson, 21, of Margate, was taken into custody Wednesday following the incident at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, according to WPLG.

The station, citing a Broward Sheriff’s Office arrest report, said Wilson-Robinson attacked the woman from Palm Beach Gardens by “forcefully pushing her,” causing her to fall to the ground and hit her forehead.

The passenger, who was at the airport that day traveling on a JetBlue flight, suffered “minor bruising,” deputies reportedly added.

It wasn’t clear what led to the alleged confrontation.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond Saturday to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
