D.C. Construction Is A Problem For Regular People. Democrats Said Nothing Until The East Wing Was Touched

It’s so on brand for Democrats and the dying news media to insist everyone suddenly pay attention to a thing that has no bearing on ordinary Americans, while at the same time ignoring a very similar thing that actually does.

For anyone who hasn’t heard, it’s apparently a national crisis that President Trump is revamping portions of the White House, most notably an entire reconstruction of the East Wing into an immense ballroom and event area. CNN and MSNBC are practically running 24-7 coverage of the project and are very fond of repeating the word “demolition,” as are The New York Times and Washington Post.

“Trump Is Demolishing the Entire East Wing.” — Times

“Stephen Colbert Tears Into the White House Demolition.” — Times

“Why the demolition of the East Wing is so shocking.” — Post

“Trump defends East Wing demolition, raises ballroom price to $300 million.” — Post

Whether any of these people are seriously distraught over a government building’s renovation is beside the point. More important is that once again, they’re showing how manifestly uninterested they are in problems regular people face every day, while obsessing over an issue when it’s something that directly affects their own decadent lifestyles.

Washington, D.C., where I lived for 15 years, is a place that’s constantly under disruptive construction — the roads, the buildings, the parks, the museums, the monuments, and, most grating of all, the Metro subway system. It’s impossible to pick one side of a walkway to commute anywhere in town, because you will inevitably run into a blocked path, steering you to the other side due to construction. It’s not uncommon to have to switch sides multiple times for that reason.

To ride the Metro is to see constant reminders: “Maintenance scheduled — expect delays.” In the time I lived in D.C., there would be periods of months where entire lines of the system were shut down, obstructing and frustrating the work commutes for thousands of locals.

When have you ever heard a Democrat or cable news anchor or anyone at the Washington Post raise the level of concern over that kind of “demolition” the way they are now over a section of the White House? Nobody outside of the lawn gates will even notice it’s happening without volunteering to go and look.

The irony in this stupid outrage is that beginning a major construction project in D.C. might be the most normal thing Trump has done since the start of his second term. The city is nothing if not a perpetual nightmare of hammering and drilling. I’d take offense if it meant shutting down major roadways through the city or a(nother) reduction in service on the Metro, but it doesn’t.

Overnight Drone Attack Hits Moscow High-Rise As Putin Warns Of ‘Overwhelming’ Response

Ukrainian drones have once again reached the Moscow area, far away from the border, at a moment the Kremlin is strongly warning against Washington allowing the transfer of US Tomahawk missiles to Kiev.

The attack on a Moscow suburb was part of a broader wave of overnight drone attacks which hit multiple regions across the country, injuring at least five people, including a child, when one drone slammed into an apartment building near Moscow.

According to Moscow region Governor Andrei Vorobyov, the drone hit a 14th-floor apartment in a high-rise building in the city of Krasnogorsk, northwest of the capital.

Four adults were hospitalized with head injuries, fractures, and shrapnel wounds, and a boy suffered minor injuries in the attack. Circulating photos showed blown-out walls in an apartment.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said that air defense forces intercepted and destroyed over 110 Ukrainian UAVs over 13 regions overnight. Several drones were also shot down as they approached the capital.

Ukraine appears to be feeling emboldened, as it has had a series of ‘wins’ on a global stage given this week’s new US and EU anti-Moscow sanctions. This new attacked marked the second consecutive night which saw more than 100 drones assault Russian territory.

Power outages resulted in some Russian areas, particularly the Rostov region, and drone impacts were reported also in Bryansk, Kaluga, Tula, and Tver.

Meanwhile President Vladimir Putin has warned in the face of new sanctions and the potential for new long-range weapons including Tomahawk missiles to be given to Ukraine that Moscow stands ready to respond with an “overwhelming” force:

“Dialogue is always better than confrontation or any disputes, and especially war. We have always supported the continuation of dialogue,” Putin told journalists.

But if Russia was attacked with US Tomahawk missiles, which Ukraine seeks, the response would be “very strong, if not overwhelming. Let them think about it,” he added.

So far Trump appears to have resisted Zelensky’s and Europe’s urging on this front, but shown willingness to later reverse his decisions on such Ukraine war-related issues.

Joe Manchin Exposes Biden’s Thug Tactics — Says Biden Orchestrated Death Threats and Paid Protestors After He Refused to Back ‘Build Back Better’ Spending Boondoggle”

In his explosive 2025 memoir Dead Center: In Defense of Common Sense, former West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin exposes shocking details about the Biden administration’s relentless campaign to strong-arm him into supporting the multi-trillion-dollar “Build Back Better Act.”

Manchin reveals that President Biden and his inner circle waged an aggressive behind-the-scenes pressure campaign, one that left him fearing for his safety and the safety of his family.

According to Manchin, his refusal to back the bill, which he viewed as a far-left wishlist crafted by Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, made him Public Enemy No. 1 in the eyes of the White House and progressive activists.

During a private Oval Office meeting, Biden allegedly grabbed Manchin’s arm and pleaded, “Joe, the country needs you.” Manchin responded: “Mr. President, the country needs you too,” according to ABC News.

When Manchin went public on Fox News to announce he would not support the Build Back Better bill, the response from the White House was swift and angry.

Manchin says he received a “hostile” voicemail from Biden, followed by a heated phone call in which the President was “irate.”

“I told him I was frustrated with the White House’s outreach,” Manchin writes, adding that Biden’s decision to single him out publicly “put my family in harm’s way.”

The two men ended the conversation tensely. Biden reportedly quipped, “We have a pissed off Irishman and a pissed off Italian. I think we should let things cool off.” The pair didn’t speak for three months.

According to Manchin, during an interview on the All In podcast, Biden’s team quickly turned up the heat, using the media and activist networks to vilify and intimidate him into submission.

DNC Chair: ‘May Be Nearing’ Moment Where ‘Elections Don’t Matter’ and ‘Resistance Looks Completely Different’

On Thursday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “The Beat,” DNC Chair Ken Martin stated that the Democratic Party’s job right now is to win elections, and if “we are truly in a dictatorship and an authoritarian regime here has completely shredded the Constitution, then party doesn’t matter, and then elections don’t matter and then the resistance looks completely different” “and we may be nearing” that moment, but for now, their job is winning elections.

Martin said, “[L]et me say to you, what is the role of the Democratic Party in this moment? Our job is to win, to win elections. That is our role. That is our responsibility, and where I have to put my attention and focus, Jason, is on those pieces.”

He added, “If we reach that break the glass moment when all of our democratic institutions have failed us, right? And we are truly in a dictatorship and an authoritarian regime here has completely shredded the Constitution, then party doesn’t matter, and then elections don’t matter and then the resistance looks completely different. But until we reach that moment, and we may be nearing it, Jason, don’t get me wrong, the role of the Democratic Party is singular, to win elections, to recruit candidates in every election up and down the ballot throughout the country, to build power back so we can actually stop this guy.”

Met Police reviews 9,000 cases in grooming gangs probe after Sadiq Khan denials

The Metropolitan Police is reviewing 9,000 cases in a huge new grooming gangs probe despite Mayor of London Sadiq Khan’s previous denials any operated in the capital.

The announcement comes after an Express/MyLondon investigation exposed several potential grooming gang cases in London appeared to have been overlooked.

Khan has repeatedly stated there were “no reports” or “indications” that London was blighted by the type of abuse that affected towns like Rochdale and Rotherham.

But on Friday evening, the Met revealed it has 9,000 cases to reassess.

In a letter from Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley to the Mayor, London’s top cop tells Khan he is “responding to questions about child sexual exploitation” adding that “any sexual offending against children is abhorrent but group-based offending, including that characterised as ‘Grooming Gangs’, is particularly insidious. And devastating in its profound impact on the children affected.”

He adds that he knows that “historically and across the UK, the cases of these child victims have not always been recognised and thoroughly investigated. Too often, victims have been disbelieved and even judged at times.”

But he added that “the Met is committed to safeguarding all victims of these terrible offences and wherever possible bringing those responsible to justice.”

Chelsea Clinton’s Nasty Attack On President Trump’s White House Renovation Blows Up in Her Face When Social Media Users Deliver a Devastating Reminder to Her

Another member of the Clinton Crime Family has weighed in on President Trump’s White House renovation and got predictably humiliated.

As The Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft reported, Construction began this week on the new Big Beautiful White House Ballroom that will have room for nearly 1,000 guests for future White House social events and state dinners with world leaders.

Trump previously announced that he was planning to build the new ballroom at the White House and told reporters that he’s paying for the $200 million project.

President Trump added, “They’ve wanted a ballroom at the White House for more than 150 years, but there’s never been a President that was good at ballrooms.

I’m really good. “I’m good at building things, and we’ll get it built quickly and on time.”

Crooked Hillary Clinton, famous for stealing the White House dinnerware during her time as First Lady, melted down over Trump’s latest project to Make America Great Again.

First son Eric Trump shut Hillary down with one tweet.

Hillary Clinton: It’s not his house. It’s our house. And he’s destroying it.

Eric Trump: The ballroom will be spectacular… unlike your work in Haiti.

Chelsea Clinton decided to chime in on Thursday with an article in left-wing USA Today, whining about the much-needed renovation. She tried to pretend that her parents treated the White House as sacred ground while instilling in her a valuable lesson about what it meant.

“The White House became my home when I was twelve years old. I always understood that it wasn’t my ‘house’; it was The People’s House,” she wrote.

She then attacked Trump, saying the “erasure” of the East Wing is just part of Trump’s determination to take “a wrecking ball” to America.

The erasure of the East Wing isn’t just about marble or plaster — it’s about President Trump again taking a wrecking ball to our heritage, while targeting our democracy, and the rule-of-law,” she added.

It seems Chelsea has obtained selective amnesia over the years. Not only did her dad have oral sex in the Oval Office with an intern and lie about it, but her mom tried to steal furniture right before they left the White House for good.

Social media users were more than happy to deliver this devastating reminder to Chelsea.

The Myth of the “Robber Barons”: James Hill versus the Crony Competitors

Whether we like it or not, the Progressive Era and its mainstream historical interpretation—even when fictional—has virtually defined our last century. The dominant, though false, narrative is basically that unfettered free market capitalism led to negative outcomes, “robber barons” monopolized the market to their benefit, and that disinterested federal regulation brought discipline to this system, keeping its benefits while curbing its excesses. For that reason, among others, entrepreneurs and businesses have been maligned, even as society enjoyed their benefits.

Thankfully, important historical work has been done to attempt to correct the dominant narrative. One such work is Burton Fulsom’s The Myth of the Robber Barons: A New Look at the Rise of Big Business in America. This work—rather than relying on popular, but inaccurate, historical narratives—examines the contributions of several key American entrepreneurs. Unfortunately, rather than learning positively from real-life examples of successful entrepreneurs and the dangers of government interventions and cronyism, “many historians have been teaching the opposite lesson for years” (p. 121). Fulsom continues,

They have been saying that entrepreneurs, not the state, created the problem. Entrepreneurs, according to these historians, were often “robber barons” who corrupted politics and made fortunes bilking the public. In this view, government intervention in the economy was needed to save the public from greedy businessmen. This view, with some modifications, still dominates in college textbooks in American history. (pp. 121-122)

Crucially, Fulsom makes the useful distinctions between “political entrepreneurs” and “market entrepreneurs” (p. 1):

Those who tried to succeed in [business] through federal aid, pools, vote buying, or stock speculation we will classify as political entrepreneurs. Those who tried to succeed in [business] primarily by creating and marketing a superior product at a low cost we will classify as market entrepreneurs.

This distinction is critical because it qualitatively differentiates those who succeed through the production-and-exchange mechanism and those who use the political means and cronyism to gain wealth at the expense of the public. One example, though imperfect, is the main subject of this article—James J. Hill and his Great Northern transcontinental railroad.

AI Security System Mistakes Bag of Doritos for Gun, Triggers Police Response to School in Baltimore

This situation could have ended up far worse than it did.

An artificial intelligence system at a high school in Baltimore mistook a bag of Doritos as a gun.

On Monday, Taki Allen was waiting for his ride outside of Kenwood when all the sudden police officers wth their weapons drawn demanded Allen to get on the ground.

Allen completely confused by the situation heeded the officers commands and was searched by the officers only to find no weapon on him rather only a bag of Doritos.

The teen told WBRC,  “They said that an AI detector or something detected that I had a gun. He showed me a picture. I was just holding a Doritos bag like this.”

In a letter to parents the principal of Kenwood Highschool wrote, “At approximately 7 p.m., school administration received an alert that an individual on school grounds may have been in possession of a weapon. The Department of School Safety and Security quickly reviewed and canceled the initial alert after confirming there was no weapon.”

Ground stop at Phoenix airport as unpaid air traffic controllers abandon towers… while Thanksgiving threat looms

The government shutdown continues to wreak havoc on the nation’s airports as it heads toward a second month of many employees going unpaid.

Both Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and San Diego Airport reported ground delays Friday due to lack of staff.

Americans are likely to face even more flight interruptions after Congress failed to provide last-minute relief for air-traffic controllers and other federal aviation workers whose paychecks will stall due to the government shutdown.

While Donald Trump‘s administration moved funds to delay impact on some areas – such as pay for the troops – lawmakers warn that next week aviation workers will not receive their paychecks.

Around 13,000 air traffic controllers and 50,000 TSA officers are facing work without pay, leading to surging absences and sick says. Since the shutdown began on October 1, staff absences have contributed to 53 percent of all flight delays compared to the usual 5 percent.

On some days almost 6,000 flights have been hit by delays, with several major airports forced to impose ground stops due to the shortages.

On Friday, more than 4,000 flights were delayed across the country. At Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport, there were average delays of 34 minutes due to staffing shortages, while at Newark ‘compacted demand’ was causing a 55-minute average delay.

Biden Judge Gives Letitia James Her First Win

A Biden-appointed judge gave Letitia James her first win on Friday.

Corrupt New York Attorney General Letitia James was arraigned in court in Norfolk, Virginia, on Friday morning.

Letitia James’ federal criminal case was assigned to US District Judge Jamar Walker, a Biden appointee.

Jamar Walker was appointed by Joe Biden in 2023.

James was indicted by a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia earlier this month.

According to the DOJ, Letitia James was charged with two crimes: Bank Fraud under 18 U.S.C. Section 1344 and False Statements to a Financial Institution under 18 U.S.C. Section 1014.

The charges are related to a mortgage loan on a property James owns in Norfolk, Virginia, referred to as “the Perrone Property.”

According to the indictment, James was to use the property as her secondary residence and prohibited its use as a timesharing or other shared ownership arrangement or agreement that requires her either to rent the property or give any other person any control over the occupancy or use of the property.

Letitia James treated her Perrone property like an investment property on her Schedule E form and paid taxes on the rental income, further contradicting her claims of secondary residence.

“If convicted, Letitia James faces penalties including up to 30 years in prison per count, up to a $1 million fine on each count, and forfeiture,” the DOJ said.

On Friday Letitia James filed a motion to dismiss the federal indictment arguing that US Attorney Lindsey Halligan’s appointment as interim US Attorney is in violation of the Appointments Clause of the United States Constitution.

“Attorney General Letitia A. James, by and through undersigned counsel, pursuant to Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 12(b) moves this Court to dismiss the Government’s indictment because purported interim U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan had no authority to bring the charges in this case. As explained further below, Ms. Halligan’s purported appointment as interim U.S. Attorney was invalid under 28 U.S.C § 546 and in violation of the Appointments Clause of the United States Constitution,” James’s attorney argued in a motion reviewed by The Gateway Pundit.

James also asked Judge Jamar Walker to consolidate her motion challenging the appointment of Halligan with James Comey’s motion in a separate case.

Recall that fired FBI Director James Comey also filed a motion to disqualify Lindsey Halligan after he was indicted by a grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia.

On Tuesday, the Chief Judge of the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals ordered Comey’s motion challenging Halligan to be transferred to Judge Cameron McGowan Currie, a Clinton appointee.

On Friday, Judge Jamar Walker granted Letitia James’ request to consolidate her motion with Comey’s similar motion so the Clinton judge can decide whether Lindsey Halligan will be disqualified in both cases.

The fix is in.
