FBI Follies: Bureau secretly probed Trump as a Russian asset for firing Comey: declassified memos

he FBI opened a criminal probe specifically targeting Donald Trump in May 2017, alleging the newly elected president may have been acting as a Russian asset when he fired then-Director James Comey even though the bureau’s own evidence overwhelmingly showed at the time there was no collusion with the Kremlin.

Internal memos newly declassified by the White House show the investigation – codenamed “Oxferd Comma” – was launched in the immediate aftermath of Comey’s May 9, 2017, firing and was predicated on an allegation that previously released memos show the bureau’s own agents had mostly dismissed.

“The FBI is opening a full investigation based on an articulable factual basis that reasonably indicates that President Donald J. Trump may be or has been, wittingly or unwittingly, involved in activities for or on behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation which may constitute violations of federal criminal law or threats to the national security of the United States,” the electronic communication opening the probe on May 16, 2017, stated.

Goal of the investigation was to determine if Trump was directed by or controlled by the Russian Federation 

“The goal of the investigation is to determine if President Trump is or was directed by, controlled by, and/or coordinated activities with, the Russian Federation in a manner constituting a threat to the national security of the United States and/or a violation of federal criminal statutes,” it added. “In addition, this investigation will also seek to determine whether President Trump and others yet to be named obstructed and/or conspiracy to obstruct any associated FBI investigation.”

The memo, written by the FBI’s counterintelligence division and approved by then-FBI General Counsel James Baker and then-Assistant Director for Counterintelligence William Priestap, made clear the concerns about Russian influence and obstruction included Comey’s firing, in part because of the public explanations Trump gave for the termination.

“This alternative explanation can be reasonably read to imply that the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation was a factor in President Trump’s decision to terminate Comey,” the memo stated.

Both the Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein were advised that the probe had been launched, the memos show.

The FBI marked the investigation as a “sensitive investigative matter” and declared it was “the least intrusive method to address the serious national security risk posed by the activities alleged.”

But that decision proved anything but nonintrusive: it prompted the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller by Rosenstein and a nearly two-year probe that hampered the start of the Trump presidency even though Mueller’s team, like the FBI before it, was unable to substantiate any collusion between Russia and Trump’s campaign during the 2016 election.

A subsequent investigation by Special Counsel John Durham – released by the Biden Justice Department in 2023 – concluded there was no basis for the FBI to even open the original Crossfire Hurricane investigation into alleged Trump-Russia collusion.

The newly declassified Oxferd Comma memos show the case was closed on April 9, 2019, a few weeks after Mueller’s probe was sunset with a final report and no charges against Trump.

“The Special Counsel provided the Attorney General with a confidential report explaining his prosecution and declination decisions,” the closing memo noted.

Capital One Admits It Closed Over 300 Trump Organization Accounts After Internal AML Review — Bank Calls Political Debanking Claims ‘Misguided’

Capital One Financial disclosed in a late-Friday court filing that it closed more than 300 Trump Organization-affiliated bank accounts in 2021 — not because of politics, the bank insists, but following a “months-long” internal anti-money laundering review. The disclosure, reported by Reuters and confirmed by CNBC, marks the first time any financial institution has formally cited AML concerns in connection with the Trump family’s business empire.

The filing, submitted to federal court in Miami on August 1, 2026, is Capital One’s latest attempt to dismiss a lawsuit brought by the Trump Organization and Eric Trump in March 2025. The suit alleges that Capital One acted on “woke” political ideology and sought to capitalize on the anti-Trump sentiment that surged after the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. Capital One’s lawyers called those allegations “misguided” and insisted that “the closures were the result of months of analysis and a careful review by Capital One’s AML team in accordance with bank policies and regulatory guidance.”

The bank was careful to add a crucial qualifier: it “never accused the Trump Organization of illegal money laundering.” Instead, Capital One argues its compliance team identified “transaction patterns” that fit the types of activity flagged under federal Bank Secrecy Act guidance — a distinction that may satisfy regulators but does little to quiet the political firestorm the case has ignited.

Conservative critics have long argued that the post-January 6 wave of corporate debanking — in which major financial institutions quietly closed accounts tied to figures on the political right — amounts to ideological discrimination dressed up in regulatory language. Capital One is hardly alone in the dock. In January 2026, the Trump Organization filed a separate $5 billion suit against JPMorgan Chase on identical grounds. Trump signed an executive order in August 2025 specifically banning discriminatory debanking, and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has launched a review of nine major banks over the practice.

The Miami federal court has now dismissed two prior versions of the Trump-Capital One complaint, each time allowing an amended filing. The latest amended complaint, submitted in July 2026, claims the bank’s AML rationale is a post-hoc cover story, pointing to “cherry-picked” internal documents that the bank says, when read in full context, vindicate its compliance process. U.S. District Judge Roy Altman will now decide whether the Trump team has finally built a case strong enough to survive.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas was recently giving remarks at an event for the National Urban League, where she told a story about a young black woman whose father may have voted for Trump.

It seems inconceivable to Crockett. Democrats always act mystified when black people vote Republican.

It’s also worth noting that this is a typical Crockett moment. She is just overflowing with undeserved self-confidence.

During a recent panel discussion, Crockett recounted hearing from a young black woman who told her that her dad did not want to vote for former Vice President Kamala Harris. “He was like, ‘if I go vote, it’s going to be for Trump.’”

“And she asked him, and I asked, I said, ‘did he vote?’ She was like, ‘I don’t know. I don’t want to ask.’ But nevertheless, One of the things that she said was, ‘my dad said he could trust Trump.’ And I was like, ‘really?’ And so the reality is that that’s not the first time I’ve had that conversation,” Crockett continued.

EVIL: America Federation of Teachers Passes Resolution Supporting ‘Gender-Affirming’ Care, Vows Legal Challenges to Trump Policies

In the latest assault on family values Campus Reform is reporting “The American Federation of Teachers (AFT), the nation’s second-largest teachers union representing approximately 1.8 million members, adopted a resolution on July 19 supporting access to “gender-affirming care” across “all stages of life” and pledging to challenge Trump administration healthcare policies through litigation.”

This is an insult to the American public, who rejected these policies at the polls by voting for President Trump.

The resolution that this teachers’ union supported is called “Protecting Medical Research, Healthcare Access and Health Equity for LGBTQIA+ Communities.” Unfortunately, this means life-altering surgery for young people.

“The resolution was adopted as the Trump administration has moved to restrict “gender transition” procedures for minors. ”

This is Randi Weingarten’s teachers’ union, someone who has sadly been at the forefront of Woke in education.

She is known for her anti-Trump and left-wing activism. She became famous for her left-wing ideology during COVID.

President Trump was elected in part as a rejection of Wokeness by the American people.

Obama Judge Blocks Trump Admin From Ending Temporary Protected Status for Somalis – DHS Responds

A federal judge on Friday once again blocked the Trump Administration from terminating Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Somalis.

The termination was supposed to take effect on March 17, however, a federal judge previously halted the termination.

On Friday, US District Judge Allison Burroughs, an Obama appointee, issued a new administrative stay after the plaintiffs filed an amended complaint and an emergency motion.

There are more than 100,000 Somalis living in the US. An estimated 5,000 Somalis are eligible for Temporary Protected Status.

The Justice Department responded to the judge’s order.

“Judge Allison Burroughs just entered yet another order preventing the termination of Somalia TPS. There is no serious debate about what is going on in these cases—defiance, obstruction, and delay,” Homeland Security general counsel James Percival said.

Fauci Admits To Working Against Trump’s 2020 Re-Election Bid In Shocking Diary

Anthony Fauci’s newly released diary entries, made public by Sen. Rand Paul, reveal that Fauci privately viewed efforts to fast-track COVID-19 treatments and vaccines before the 2020 election as politically motivated — and show he recorded personally intervening to support FDA officials resisting pressure for emergency authorizations.

The entries were first highlighted by Justin Hart of the Rational Ground Substack.

The entries, spanning five months in 2020, detail Fauci’s concerns about what he repeatedly described as an effort to deliver President Donald Trump an “October surprise” ahead of Election Day. They also identify the administration officials he believed were applying pressure and document a call in which Fauci wrote that he and other top federal health officials assured the FDA’s top vaccine regulator they would support him if he refused to approve a vaccine prematurely.

The diary centers on several key figures. Peter Marks led the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, the office responsible for reviewing vaccine applications. Then-FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn oversaw Marks. Fauci also references then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, NIH Director Francis Collins, Fauci deputy Cliff Lane and Larry Horowitz, whom he identifies as someone working closely with then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

One of the earliest entries, dated June 20, 2020, focuses not on White House political aides but on then-White House coronavirus response coordinator Deborah Birx.

Fauci wrote that he had become increasingly frustrated with Birx, accusing her of wanting to bypass traditional clinical trials in favor of emergency authorizations.

“Deb has ststed [sic] that we should noit [sic] do clinical trials since ‘I want to see every infected person in a nursing home get plasma early on and steroids later. Forget the trial, we need to do this on EUAs. She says the same thing about vaccine trials. Clearly, she is trying to provide Trump with his October surprise. I may need to blow the whistle on her.”

The diary entry suggests Fauci believed months before the election that accelerating vaccine approvals was being driven by politics rather than science, and that he was already considering publicly opposing the effort.

By late July, Fauci recorded similar concerns about Meadows.

In a July 26 entry, Fauci wrote that after watching Meadows on television, he believed the chief of staff was “trying to get an ‘October Surprise’” and warned of an effort to push an early vaccine approval.

The following day, after briefing Trump in the Oval Office on vaccines and therapeutics, Fauci wrote that the president acknowledged a vaccine might not be ready before Election Day, though “he was not happy about it.”

OH PLEASE: Karen Bass Tries to Blame Trump for Rising Number of Homeless in Los Angeles

As the Gateway Pundit reported earlier this week, the number of homeless people in the city of Los Angeles is rising, despite billions of dollars being spent to supposedly ‘fix’ the problem.

And because Democrats can never, ever take responsibility for problems that they created or made worse, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is blaming Trump for the rise in homelessness.

It’s so ridiculous. She probably doesn’t even believe this herself.

The homeless crisis is worsening in California. And the Democrats who run the state there have a familiar excuse for why their state is in a constant state of decline. It’s all Trump’s fault.

Homelessness in Los Angeles grew by about 3.4 percent over the last year. A survey conducted the previous year found about 44,000 people living on the streets, and 72,000 people across L.A. County.

L.A. Mayor Bass recently blamed the president for exacerbating the homeless problem.

“The Trump Administration has driven up the cost of gas, groceries and rent, pushing more families to the edge, and slashed critical safety net funding,” Bass said in a statement.

Bass pointed to cuts in federal housing assistance by about half last year, which cost the city around $70 million.

“For two years straight, we drove down homelessness by historic margins, but as expected, last year our efforts ultimately couldn’t keep up with policies and funding cuts at the federal and state levels that pushed more people onto the streets,” the mayor claimed.

MSNOW Suggests Trump Will Try to Steal the 2026 Midterms – Then Completely Dismisses Massive Voter Fraud Uncovered in New Jersey

During a recent broadcast, MSNOW pushed the Democrat narrative that Trump is going to try to steal the 2026 midterms, and explained that Senate Democrats are taking the threat so seriously that they’re actually wargaming various scenarios over it.

Minutes later, the same host talks to another guest and the two of them completely dismiss the very real voter fraud that was recently uncovered in New Jersey, where it was discovered that as many as 4,000 illegal immigrants were registered to vote and that hundreds of them had voted.

This is an example of something that could only happen on MSNOW.

The segment opened with correspondent Ali Vitali interviewing House Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on his “doomsday plans” for if Trump made a move against free elections. Vitali summarized Schumer’s concerns:

Schumer feels there is enough information to go off of from the president’s own statements, not just in recent weeks, but in recent years, casting doubt on elections that Republicans lose. To Schumer’s mind, it says that Democrats have not just an edge going into the midterms, but that they need to be able to have some reflexes to draw upon if there are attempts to sow disinformation or send federal troops to polling places. Those are just some of the fears that he has.

TALKING POINTS: Liberal Journos Covering the WHCD Claim Trump Has Destroyed Trust in News Media

Every once in a while, it’s very easy to see that talking points have been sent out. When two or more people in media are pushing the same narrative, it’s obvious.

Tonight is the rescheduled White House Correspondents’ Dinner and multiple journos are talking about how Trump – not them – has destroyed trust in media. If these people had an ounce of honesty in them, they would admit that they destroyed their own industry through constant lies, but they can’t do that. They’re simply not capable.

They are also incapable of shame, as you’ll see below.

Up first is CNN’s talking potato, Brian Stelter, who calls himself a media reporter. In this clip, he says “The damage Trump has done, both in his first term and now in his second term, in terms of trust in media, that has been enormous.”

Over on MSNOW, some random journo in this clip says “The president has convinced a great many Americans to not trust reporters and that’s done a lot of damage. A lot of long term damage.”

Massachusetts Rep. Seth Moulton Admits Democrats Have No Real Plans for Americans Other Than Being Anti-Trump

Massachusetts Democrat Congressman Seth Moulton had a rare moment of clarity during an appearance on MSNOW earlier this week.

Moulton admitted that his party has no real plan for immigration, or inflation, and most importantly that all they do have is being anti-Trump.

This is the problem that Democrats have had for years now. Trump can do or say anything and you know instantly, that the Democrats will be against it if he is for it.

Democratic Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., acknowledged Tuesday on MS NOW’s “Money, Power, Politics” that Democrats have failed to give voters a clear immigration plan and rely too heavily on opposition to President Donald Trump, as he discussed the party’s challenges in Arizona’s gubernatorial primary.

“We don’t have a plan for immigration. We’re not able to say what, actually, Democrats should do to fix the problem,” Moulton said. “All we are is opposition to Trump.”

The Massachusetts congressman and U.S. Senate candidate said he had tested voters’ understanding of the party’s position during town halls across his state.

“I’ll ask people, ‘How many of you are opposed to Trump’s immigration enforcement?’ Every hand in the room goes up,” Moulton said, adding, “Like, I’ve asked thousands of people in Massachusetts this question.”

The congressman also faulted Democrats for dismissing other voter concerns, including inflation, during former President Joe Biden’s administration.

“Under Biden, we said inflation is not really a big deal. It’s transitory. It’s going to go away,” Moulton said. “The point is we have this history of kind of just like washing over problems and not addressing real concerns that voters have.”
